Question Does Oneplus 11 work on AT&T? - OnePlus 11

Title says it all. I remember reading in the past that there was some issue with their phones working on AT&T.

The OnePlus 11 is fully certified to work on AT&T, including 5G. Only thing you won't have is mmwave as the 11 doesn't have mmwave.

OP 11 works on all major US carriers it's on the OP website.

Yes it will work. Unfortunately WIFI calling won't.

Are you saying if I use Google Voice wifi calling it won't work or are you saying that 'native' wifi calling won't work?

Ok. Thanks!

I'm using a OnePlus 7T on AT&T and ATT Support had to enable Wifi Calling on my account, it works w/o any problem and should still work when my OnePlus 11 arrives.

No. ATT Support just had to enable it on my device (OP 7T).

AT&T is pretty hit or miss with OPlus in my experience. They forced me out of their network when I had a OnePlus 7 Pro. Told me to upgrade, gave me the 3G network nonsense. Bought the 10 Pro, called support, they enabled all the switches on their side... two weeks later they cut my service completely right after a billing cycle and I couldn't text, call, and didn't have data. They kept telling me **** like my phone wasn't certified or something for their network, a brand new device bought from best buy, lol. The gall.
For OPlus I would use T-Mobile, as that's their "licensed" vendor so even global, EU, or CN Oppo devices seem to work fine. But that's just my personal experience last year, perhaps others are different.

That used to be the case but not since the 10T. OnePlus is now officially certified for AT&T network (but only the 10T and 11). In the past though, it wasn't certified and AT&T loved to kick people off for using a non-certified phone. As far as T-Mobile though, yeah OnePlus devices fully work on their network without any nonsense. They also fully work on Verizon without any nonsense too.

The phone works EXCEPT that the Hotspot does not start. I have a oneplus 7 pro that has no problem starting the hotspot with the same sim.

WiFi calling on AT&T?

I'm hoping the wifi calling works with ATT... Probably the biggest reason I'm "upgrading"from my 2 xl. Can someone post here if they find out?

I don't thik so....ATT did not want to carry Pixel 3a. And wifi calling does not work by ATT fault not google. So they will do the same for pixel 3a. But I can confirm once I get mine today.

This doesn't answer the ATT question but Verizon Wi-Fi calling works on the unlocked 3aXL from Best Buy. So maybe it'll work on ATT....hope so for you. It's a great phone
WiFi calling does work on the pixel 3 with ATT though, and that's not offered through them either

Results vary, apparently. Did you use a sim you already had, a new sim, or eSim to get your phone connected? I just ordered one from B&H, but won't ship until the 14th. AT&T wifi calling is the main reason I got this so I'm sort of tracking responses. It seems my Z3 Play is never going to get that feature. We do get wifi calling with our prepaid plan on the one iphone we have.

Thanks. If, by any chance, you lose those features (some have reported that happening, but more in the past and with phones NOT provisioned by AT&T), please let us (me) know. I felt secure enough to order the phone, so here's hoping it's all good.
I got my 3a XL today and wifi calling works perfect on my ATT service.
Confirmed as working on the 3a. VoLTE and wifi calling. Didn't have wifi calling before but was able to turn it on in settings and click through the att setup. Excited about this phone!
Also, posted at #410. That poster has prepaid (as do I). I'll open the box tomorrow morning then report my findings. :fingers-crossed:
Edit: It took persistence, but on the fourth try, BINGO!
WiFi calling failed during the first 24 hours with att Sim installed. After that period I tried again and it activated! Maybe they need to update imei in their system and then it works?

Is the Mate 20X Worth Buying?

I'm in NYC presently and using Tmobile. I'm using the samsung a70 with is amazing. But I also bought the mate 20X. I read that it doesnt have wifi calling and google map history and google pay dont work. I dont want to use a phone if it presents issues. My question... is this phone worth using? Will it be more of a headache?
.
If you want a powerful phone with a big screen, good camera, and big battery, nothing else comes close.
I used it with T-mobile in NJ and NYC without any problems, but I don't use the features you mentioned.

Hi btblue,
Thanks for the reply. But why are people complaining the phone lacks these features?
What version of mate 20X do you have? Do you have L29 version and do you have tmobile?

Hi.
I have EVR L29.
I have owned the phone since January and only with the recent update did the WiFi calling option appear for my carrier, Vodafone.
If I used an EE (T Mobile) or Three sim I would instantly have WiFi calling enabled.
Might be something to do with carrier settings?

WiFi calling on Verizon network.

Has anyone confirmed that this feature works on the Verizon network on the US unlocked version of the phone?
I'm surprised that no one has the answer to this question.
Probably not. VZW seems not allowing WiFi calling on non-contract phones
Motorola's website says Yes, but I can't find anyone who has done it first hand. Just ordered one on Amazon so I'll let you know...

That's confusing since the unlocked (non contract) Galaxy Z flip has wifi calling on Verizon.
Verizon chat support says Yes, but I don't put a lot of stock in that. (chat screens attached). I'm hoping it will at least be enough to get the activation fee waived if it doesn't work and I return it. I bought a Razr from Verizon not realizing it was the 2019 non-5G version. It will likely go back because I'm having trouble swallowing $1000 for a generation behind phone, but I love the form factor.
Razr 2020 will be here Wednesday so fingers crossed and stay tuned.
So far not looking good. I made sure the phone was updated to the latest OS and apps, but there is no wifi-calling option to turn on. If I move the SIM back to my old phone wifi-calling works just fine. I'm going to call Verizon support later, but I'm not optimistic. I'll update again after I talk to support.
I spent an hour on the phone with a pretty knowledgeable tech and no luck.
Motorola has updated it's website to only say "Supports 4G, VoLTE", no longer 5G or wifi calling.
WiFi calling isn't working on Vodafone UK either, and the phone came from them.
The WiFi calling 'app' is installed, but the options in the settings are not available.
Did anyone on any network got WiFi calling to work?

No Settings for Mate 20X VoLTE on ATT?

Hi, I just switched from a Mi Max 3 to a Mate 20X since ATT is removing 3G, and haven't had any luck finding or setting up VoLTE on my Mate 20X. I'm fully updated to EMUI 11 and the option simply doesn't exist to turn on VoLTE. I've tried setting up a new APN as well, with no luck.
How should I go about getting it working? As ATT locks down any lines that don't have VoLTE.

I did a lot of reading on these forums about that. I had called into ATT support last night and they said enabling VoLTE was something that they were unable to do for my IMEI on my line. To the point that ATT will actually lock my line out from even functioning once I try to get that device setup. Would I have to give them an IMEI for another device with VoLTE, have them unlock my line, and then put the sim card back in the Mate 20X?
Update on this, I tried a friends T-Mobile sim card in my phone and it worked with no issue. VoLTE started up completely fine. ATT is just being dumb with me when they say they can't activate VoLTE on the line.
So, would I need to bring in a completely different device with VoLTE and give them that IMEI. Then plop the sim card back in my Mate 20X?

No problems with that, switch to T-Mobile it is then. Heck even Google Fi or something like that.
I think they're telling me the device they see off of the IMEI isn't allowed, not blocking the IMEI or anything.

Thanks ATT.
Most of my family is on ATT, but I have someone in it on T-Mobile. Will be heading there later.
I already switched to T-mobile after 9 years with ATT
They simply locked out my phone
T-mobile works fine no issues

Question Are you able to use simultaneous multiple eSim?

Like with iPhone, where you set one primary for data while still getting calls from all?
Thanks in advance.

Google developed code for Android to do away with needing more than one eSim- 2 software channels would handle this. Way back then it was projected to make it into 13.
Plus there's a third party Android app that's supposed to accomplish that also.
I'm traveling and left phone behind.
I'm debating whether to return it between wanting a brighter screen, no mmwave + waiting on slow as molasses T-Mobile to enable triple 5G aggregation... & just noticed OP tablet has both phone & messaging icons.
I'm guessing it won't be native calling- rather shortcuts for continuing on computer.
But if it is I'll return phone for tablet instead- Unlimited Plan on only cost $5 (Metro deducts $5 each from other phone plan & tablet plan- Family Plan style. Or go to T-Mobile with tablet- they offer $10 Unlimited Business Tablet Plan).
Then I'll wait for OP 12. On Metro when you upgrade a phone thru them they'll give you another line for free.
The way oneplus decided to use it was either have 2 physical sims or 1 physical sim 1 esim. Why is this so hard to accept.

you are completly wrong. support for dual eSim is ready for Pixel 7 on Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 update +. Will be default ready on A14 for other manufactors.
While i can't tell for the future (no idea about hardware/software limitations on this), i currently have 1 physical SIM and 2 eSIMs in my OP11. And :
- I can store as many eSIM in the phone as i want (or at least several since i was able to switch between 3 eSIMs).
- You can only have ONE active eSIM at the same moment.
Settings to switch eSIMs are a bit cumbersome but that's OK, it works fine.
My pixel 7 Pro has two esim at one time active so I'm pretty sure it'll make its way into the OnePlus 11 but it was a beta so it'll have to wait until it's fully compatible with all manufacturers I use beta software on my pixel so I get the newest features
You do realize the question is on the oneplus 11 can you use 2 esims at the same time.
Thank you for all the replies.
Dual eSim is a Google thing for all Android phones. Messages & Dialer supposedly give you choice of Sim to use? Sounds like it took a while and still needs work. iPhone handles it ideally- you can select which default handles data & separately which one the calling.
But it'll do for now. You can install T-Mobile app and get offered a free eSim Unlimited 90 day trial. Verizon offers 30 or 60 days, many others offering ¼-½ month.
Although the follow up or alternative to this- iSim, is already on the way for late this year- will be embedded \ won't need dedicated eSim.

iSIM has been available in Qualcomm devices since the Snapdragon 888 and is effectively eSIM built into the SoC. I would be surprised if the phone manufacturers aren't using this to enable eSIM as otherwise they would have to be using a separate eSIM chip at an added cost.
