Wildfire S back to stock! - HTC Wildfire S

Hi Peeps, i have a Wildfire S which i'm handing into Samsung for the trade in.
I understand it has Cyanogenmod installed on it, however, i need to return the phone back as though it was factory stock.
I've searched hi and low, however, i am unable to find working links to an RUU.exe (preferably UK/English firmware) Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
I'm really not bothered on the version of android, i just need to return it to factory stock firmware.
I understand its a case of connecting the phone and running the .exe and its automated?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Gareth

[Q] Newbie Desire owner - Rooting my device.

Hi
I just got hold of my new HTC Desire the other day and have to admit it is a fekkin great bit of kit!
I have some questions tho, please excuse my ignorance of the subject as I am in virgin territory.
I desperately want to be able to connect a Wii remote to my Desire and after watching a video on YouTube I found this is possible only on a rooted device. After some research I have found out that by rooting my phone I will void any warrantee that comes with it.
Once the device has been rooted is it possible to do a system restore to factory settings just in case? And if this is possible I'm assuming HTC will still be able to verify if the device was rooted (in case I try taking it back to them).
Any help/advice would be apprecietd.
Regards
Once you have rooted the Desire you can unroot it back to stock. HTC can't tell the difference.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thanks Fido, most appreciated.
I don't suppose you know anywhere with details on how to unroot your device? I'm assuming you would need to keep an 'image' of the original software backed up somewhere...

You just flash with the WWE or Europe ROM. Either Froyo or the latest Eclair.
Unrooting my device
Just done some research on how to unroot my device. Most of it seems pretty straight forward, however the part where you have to download the 'original RUU' is where I'm lost. What the heck is an RUU? And where do I get the original one for my phone? I am on the O2 network in the UK if that helps...
Regards

You need this my friend...
O2 UK Stock ROM - Link seem very slow, server issues maybe?? Be patient, though
(RUU = Rom Upgrade Utility, it's the ROM in an EXE file that you run in Windows to completely update your ROM)
Thanks Eddy
However I just tried the link and it doesn't work, would u be able to provide an alternetive one please??

[Q] reboot and htc sync problems

Hi guys!
First : 2 months ago I've got the reboot-issue usually when i try use mobile network.
Sometimes i experience the problem after couple of minutes of playing with any game on my phone.
Which company i should send back the phone:- dial-a-phone , - orange , -htc.
Second : I tried to unroot the device but htc sync(3.0.5511) is not recognising it.
My phone is running Gingervillain 1.1 (gingerbread 2.3).Should i try downgrade first?
Anyone experienced this?Any suggestion?I wouldnt be worry if i know that i can send the phone back like this and they will return it with the stock rom without risking to lose the warranty.
Thanks in advance.
i would suggest flashing the WWE RUU before sending it back to Orange/HTC.
You will need a goldcard to do this if you dont already have one.
Do a search in XDA and you will find instructions on how to do it.
The RUU you want is 2.29.405.2 which you can download here...
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.exe
This will get you back to HTC stock, no root etc...
There isnt currently a way to get back to true Orange stock
thanks mike!

[Q] Return to Stock T-Mo [UK] ROM & Radio

Can anyone recommend a download link or other source for the above ROM and Radio please?
I need to return my phone to stock for HTC to examine it and check my faulty GPS chip (then hopefully provide me with a fully-functioning handset!).
Thanks for any help.
here you go ... http://www.iloveabath.co.uk/index.php?dir=RUUs/
Download the TMO version
Superb, thanks buddy.
anytime
Hey,
Did it work? Can you please share your experience? I am interesting in running custom ROMs, however need to ensure that I can return the phone back to the state that I got it in. I have a branded, but unlocked, T-Mobile UK DHD.
Cheers,
smacky_t
It seems to have worked successfully (the handset is now with HTC's designated repair centre).
It was a pretty straightforward process:
- Download the Stock ROM from the above link
- Flash it
- Then follow this guide to return to S-ON.
HTH?
Hey mate, I bought my Desire HD from the Carphone Warehouse back in December, running the stock Froyo Rom. I'm on T-Mobile too. Do you still have a copy of the RUU you downloaded? I can't seem to find any and the link seems to be dead.

[Q] Newbie hoping for help, One X stuck in bootloader(?)

So I've had my One X for about 1,5 month now. The other day something went wrong in an system update and now the phone won't start no matter what I do. I get into the bootloader (I think it's called that) but now matter what I choose I can't restore the phone or anything. Can some friendly soul guide me in a simple way how to install an RUU (I think that's the way to go?) to get the phone working again? I'm a pretty newbie to Android but over all pretty technical so any help would be greatly appreciated!
On top of the bootloader it says "LOCKED" and "SECURITY WARNING".
