HTC One M8 Revert back to factory stock from rooted GPE - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm new to the forums. I need to know how to revert my phone back from Skydragons GPE to factory stock along with the bootloader not saying modified. I have looked all over on how to but can't exactly find what im looking for with clear enough directions. Anyone help or redirection please? I need it back because I have to send it in for a replacement.

Returning to completely stock?

Hey guys,
This is my first post here, but hopefully I'll become a more active member and won't just be asking for help! Anyway, as the title suggests, I want to return my HTC to completely stock. I installed Cyanogen onto it, but decided I prefer just having the stock ROM (weird, I know).
So I was wondering if it is at all possible to return to phone to complete stock?
What I want to do is:
Return to the stock ROM
Return the the stock Recovery
Remove *UNLOCKED* and *TAMPERED* flags
Return to S-ON (after removing the tags)
Also, is it possible to be rooted, but still have everything else stock? What is the minimum I can change, but still be rooted?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
There are some very good threads on returning to stock, the search tool is your friend

HERE IS YOUR RETURN TO STOCK BIBLE
Read through the above, its a brilliant guide by @EddyOS
going back to s on shouldn't really be a priority as some m8s ship already s off.
but if you want to return to s on, once you have followed the guide above, you need to boot into RUU mode in fastboot by typing "fastboot oem rebootRUU" then once you have a black screen with a silver HTC logo type"fastboot oem writesecureflag 3" - this will change the security on.
IMPORTANT!!!!!!! - make sure you are on stock firmware and a stock unmodified HBOOT as you will hard brick your device if not

[q] help.asap.. Stuck

i have an HTC One m8. i rooted my phone and installed the harman kardonn mod. ever since my phone got screwed up and i didnt take a back up. now i want to return to my 100% stock rom with boomsound. i completely wanna unroot my phone. but i cant find the ruu or recovery or Nandroid backups anywhere. most of the links are gone cause MEGA is taken off the web. My software number is 3.35.720.1 running 4.4.4. can someone tell me how to i go back to stock. where can i get the back up/RUU ??? HELP ME PLEASE
So are you going to make a nandroid before making any system changes next time? I would certainly hope so.
You can ask and hope for somebody to post the nandroid for your software version.
Alternately, just find a custom ROM to your liking, and flash it.
HK mod requires appropriate firmware (s-off required).
There's a TMO RUU here: http://dl4.htc.com/RomCode/Source_a..._20.56.4198.02L_F_release_385597_signed_2.exe
If you poke around htc you might find more too. Worth a look.
But yeah, like repoint said, you could just flash a stock rom too...might be easier.

There are RUUs for T-Mob US, Sprint, and AT&T, as well as Dev Edition and GPE versions. But s-off is needed to run an RUU that does not match your CID/MID. Its not clear whether the OP has s-on or s-off.
Flashing a stock or any custom ROM is almost certainly easier. Just flash the ROM, and the issues with HK mod incompatibility will be fixed.

[Q] Want to return to stock on my HTC One M8

Hi. I have a HTC One M8 that is rooted and has a custom rom. It's on Android 4.4.4 I need to return to stock as I need to send my phone for repair. No, I did not root my phone myself my friend done it for me. I've watched videos on how to return to stock on my phone but I just can't do it! Can someone please guide and help me through this!
Look for a back to stock RUU for your carrier. That should do it for you.
I don't know your CID but look over this thread you should be able to find an RUU that will work for you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376

Wildfire S back to stock!

Hi Peeps, i have a Wildfire S which i'm handing into Samsung for the trade in.
I understand it has Cyanogenmod installed on it, however, i need to return the phone back as though it was factory stock.
I've searched hi and low, however, i am unable to find working links to an RUU.exe (preferably UK/English firmware) Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
I'm really not bothered on the version of android, i just need to return it to factory stock firmware.
I understand its a case of connecting the phone and running the .exe and its automated?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Gareth
