Pixel 3a XL both sims same IMEI - Google Pixel 3a XL Questions & Answers

My Pixel 3a XL Verizon had single sim option but i got the esim to show up after some adb commands i found right here at XDA.
However both the IMEI 1 and IMEI 2 are same. Will i be able to put an esim from another carrier and use the dual sim function. Pixel 3a XL does support DSDS but the same IMEI 1 and 2 is confusing me.
Thanks

Pixel 3 XL breaking sim cards?

I put my Project Fi sim card into my Pixel 3 XL and after that no other phone was able to read it. Now I'm actually not sure anymore, if the Pixel ever read it or just used eSIM.
Anyone else had that?
I put my active Verizon SIM in my new pixel 3 XL yesterday and it would connect but I couldn't make calls, text, or get a data connection. I put it back into my 2 XL and it would no longer work. I called *611 but apparently Verizon was closed? Anyway I chatted with online support , gave them my SIM number and IMEI and they got me up and going. It was odd.

I think it's a carrier issue.

Bestbuy verizon pixel 3 xl sim unlocked or not?

I brought a pixel 3 xl from bestbuy (verizon) and activated my phone 3 days ago but haven't received the "sim unlock" notification. Does it mean the phone is already sim unlocked? How do i verify without another sim card other than the one comes with pixel 3 xl? Thanks.
Yes, all Verizon phones come unlocked due to a deal made with the FCC. Try any SIM and it will work. Tested on my own Pixel 3 XL with a TMobile SIM.

Verizon turned off the SiM locking they had on the 3s for awhile. Probalby too much bad press. So when you got it, it was already unlocked and you won't see the message.

yepp.. they did implement a sim locking feature however.. they did it to reduce fraud according to big red..
you probably wouldnt notice though.. from what i read its sim locked until its activated on the verizon network at which it then unlocks..
i am not sure if the pixels are like this or not but my s9+, tab s4 and note 9 took a few days..
my p3xl came with the esim preconfigured for my vzw acct as well as a sim card.. i accidentally reset and cleared the esim lol.. good thing the sim card still worked haha
i have tried a sprint sim and att sim in my p3xl, both worked with no hassle

Did your 3a XL come with 2 IMEIs?

I just went through an excruciating process hoping to get dual SIM to work. Turns out my 3a XL which I bought from Sprint only came with 1 IMEI and according to Google support it means that even though it's unlocked, I can only use either eSIM or physical SIM. Not both in standby mode. The only true dual SIM standby Pixel 3a's are sold directly through the Google store or through Google Fi.
I'm completely clueless why Google would cripple their own devices for the carriers. It's infuriating but now that I know, I will buy my next Pixel directly from Google store. Just beware if you buy a Pixel from the carriers, and you don't have two IMEIs they nerfed true dual SIM.

I bought mine from a reseller, after checking though it's an unlocked Verizon model and I actually have two IMEIs. Bought it in Australia though so that may have something to do with it but if I were to add an esim I should be able to use DSDS as well as I have the option to enable it in radio info.

Carrier unlock a Google Pixel 3aXL

Does anyone know how to unlock a Google Pixel 3aXL from T-Mobile? They are being jerks about it and telling us to contact eBay and return it. We have rehabbed the phone from a very sad state in order to flip it and now our poor customer is stuck with a carrier locked phone. Can anyone help? TIA
Try this , work for me . Sprint pixel 3a
Google pixel 3a xl, 4 xl verizon sim unlock

Esim not working

I have Pixel 3 XL made in Japan. I thought every pixel 3 has an esim but mine doesn't show any + button to sacan QR code. I read on Google forums that Japan Varient doesn't support Esim. I want to confirm is that disabled by the software or the actual piece of hardware is missing?
