Does anyone know how to unlock a Google Pixel 3aXL from T-Mobile? They are being jerks about it and telling us to contact eBay and return it. We have rehabbed the phone from a very sad state in order to flip it and now our poor customer is stuck with a carrier locked phone. Can anyone help? TIA
Try this , work for me . Sprint pixel 3a

Hi thanks for replying ..I don't think ee gives unlocked phones .only car phone warehouse phones r unlocked ..and my pixel also says sim not supported after few minits aswell .
bad news .i spoke to ee and they saying they changed the unlocking process for pixel and its like iphones .so no need the code and have to make a request through ee after using the phone for 6 month .

Sadly doesn't appear to be any way to circumvent EE.
They changed the way they unlock the Pixel and it now unlocks in a similar fashion to the iPhone (Apple remotely unlock it / de-flag the sim lock) and so EE have to request Google to do so.
It seems only EE are the doing it this way, so chances of finding a third party who can circumvent it is going to be remote sadly.
Have you requested the unlock from EE ?
If you do find a solution - please share as many of us are in the same boat.
I've submitted online form see if that works. I doubt it EE are bunch of so and so's.
Yes EE will do it, but it'll cost you £8.99 and you likely won't get any notification it's been done, you'll just have to try another sim in it in about 10 days or so
@FSOP Are you speaking from experience ?
i.e. Have you had a pixel successfully unlocked by them ?
I ask because I submitted my unlock request directly with customer services 12 days ago (and checked end of last week they had done it) and I still have no unlock. Customer services also told me that there was actually no £8.99 fee anymore for devices bought PAYG - it was free.
I've just tried another sim and still get the 'sim not supported, contact EE to see if they can unlock your device' message in notifications.
I was told it was 10 working days (so two weeks in reality) and I haven't had any message or text to say it can't be done either, but does seem to be taking it time ....
What the hell is EE? Another carrier somewhere outside the US?
EDIT: I've been informed the 6 month rule doesn't apply to PAYG, but they don't sell the Pixel on PAYG so it's irrelevant, basically there's no way to get the Pixel unlocked by EE until it's 6 months old it seems.
No but I'm in a position to be well aware of the process, I've double checked and it's slightly different for the Pixels.
Contract unlocks still cost £8.99, and PAYG are free, however EE still won't unlock it until it's 6 months old, so if someone on CS has told you otherwise, then you've been misinformed I'm afraid.
Yes it's in the UK.
Ok, I know this may sound crazy but I got my pixel xl from EE. I unboxed it and skipped quickly through the setup and popped in an O2 sim. I didn't connect to the internet. The sim registered and worked. I thought great, I can use this for work and personal. I tried a call and it worked.
I then added my EE sim and set up the phone, restored my Google stuff and start using it. This morning I went to pop in my 02 sim and it's now locked to EE. I'm starting to think I imagined using the 02 sim! Has anyone else, or could anyone else try this out. If you get the phone from EE don't set it up, skip connecting to the internet, and see if it will accept another companies sim?
Any news on this? Is it possible to do it on a unlocking phone shop?
i filled out the online form, 5 days and i recieved a message the carrier unlock was unlocked.
this has sim unlocked my pixel xl and also the OEM toggle now works so i can unlock bootloader too
Anyone got their Pixel 3 or 3XL working on Sprint? Any issues?
People have Pixel 3s working on Project Fi (which uses Sprint, T-Mobile, and US Cellular)... So an unlocked P3 should have zero issues on Sprint.
I'm still waiting for my P3XL to arrive, but I've had a Nexus 6, Nexus 5x, and a Pixel XL all on Project Fi... So that's a solid yes that the P3 will work on Sprint alone.
No issues for me. You will need to get a SIM card before you activate it. I went to Best Buy and purchased the SIM then called Sprint to activate the phone. No problem.s

Same here but I went to a Sprint Corporate store. The sim for the 3xl on Sprint ends in 516QT and they charged me $2.99 for it.

Activated two Pixel 3XL's on Sprint at Corp Store...no problems, other than it wasn't in their on-floor iPad, but the guys in the back got the SIM's activated in less than 5 min.
Ordered my Pixel from google, ordered SIM card from Sprint chat. Phone arrived, SIM arrived went back to Chat, activated within 5 minutes.
Only issue was I had to contact chat again this morning so they could provision for the hotspot, but that took 3 minutes.
I was able to download Visual Voicemail from the play store as that was the only Sprint app I wanted.
Easy Peasy.
I have no problems on Sprint. Been running my 3XL since the 17th. WiFi calling even works. It wasn't a possibility on the 2XL.

Pixel 3a
I put my Project Fi sim card into my Pixel 3 XL and after that no other phone was able to read it. Now I'm actually not sure anymore, if the Pixel ever read it or just used eSIM.
Anyone else had that?
I put my active Verizon SIM in my new pixel 3 XL yesterday and it would connect but I couldn't make calls, text, or get a data connection. I put it back into my 2 XL and it would no longer work. I called *611 but apparently Verizon was closed? Anyway I chatted with online support , gave them my SIM number and IMEI and they got me up and going. It was odd.

I think it's a carrier issue.
I just went through an excruciating process hoping to get dual SIM to work. Turns out my 3a XL which I bought from Sprint only came with 1 IMEI and according to Google support it means that even though it's unlocked, I can only use either eSIM or physical SIM. Not both in standby mode. The only true dual SIM standby Pixel 3a's are sold directly through the Google store or through Google Fi.
I'm completely clueless why Google would cripple their own devices for the carriers. It's infuriating but now that I know, I will buy my next Pixel directly from Google store. Just beware if you buy a Pixel from the carriers, and you don't have two IMEIs they nerfed true dual SIM.

I bought mine from a reseller, after checking though it's an unlocked Verizon model and I actually have two IMEIs. Bought it in Australia though so that may have something to do with it but if I were to add an esim I should be able to use DSDS as well as I have the option to enable it in radio info.
