I've got myself a new P6P and basically since day one, every night or every other night it would lose something like 15 to 25%. This is over roughly an 8hours sleep.
Device is connected to WiFi and always on display is disabled.
Gram battery graphs look scary, like Oreo times scary.
Is anyone else experiencing anything similar, or is it just me?
Hibernation while screen off seems totally off at 27% of the time (should usually sit around 90% unless for example streaming or downloading stuff with screen off).
My previous P5 would do considerably better, with an almost flat graph in the same test conditions.
Thanks!
And the most frustrating about all this, is that in 2021 Google still can't provide us an easy way to figure out what's wrong.
Over several iterations they've promised we wouldn't have to deal with crap like this ever again (Doze, Doze on the go), but ultimately when it happens, users have no clue.
I'll have to install battery historian once more. I thought I was done with this crap.
P.s. I'm of course very interested to know what YOUR numbers look like in similar conditions. Thanks!
Hey,
I was having a similar issue on my P6Pro with high idle drain (about 1.8% to 2% per hour) using AccuBattery Pro to measure over the last week (got my device last Tuesday).
I just rooted last night so effectively did a fresh install on the November firmware. I turned off AOD, Digital Wellbeing and Lift to Wake as part of this.
I haven't really used root to prohibit anything I couldn't have done without root (yet) and last night used EXKM to track stats.
Over 7 hours I only lost 2% battery and had idle drain of 0.28% per hour which is much much better.
You've already said AOD is off but not sure about Digital Wellbeing. I'm not sure if the factory reset and setting up straight on November firmware helped the situation but might be worth a go?
I quite agree. Everytime I get a new device (have usually been from Google), I have to start off troubleshooting battery drain and installing other apps to do it.
Android 12 has light doze now, so after just a few minutes it will stop apps accessing the network, and force apps that need to get some data every few minutes or so, to all queue their requests for the next maintenance window, so this should very quickly after the screen is off, allow the phone CPU to enter deep sleep for most of the time, i.e. nothing is running in Android until the next maintanence slot.
What is likely happening is there is a wakelock stopping the deep sleep from happening, and Andriod remains running doing very little, keeping the CPU awake ticking over at 300MHz.
To test this theory install CPU Spy https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bvalosek.cpuspy&hl=en_GB&gl=US Have a look at the stats, has the phone entered deepsleep and what is the percentage of deep sleep? Overnight the phone really should be able to get at least 80% deep sleep as no one is using it (I've seen 95% on tablets and my Pixel 2 XL overnight).
To run a quick test, reset the stats, and let the phone sit for 30 minutes or so without being used, then go back to app (will need to use Refresh to get the latest totals) and see what percentage you get of deep sleep.
If you find the phone is going into deep sleep okay and overnight is 80% or more of deep sleep, then that isn't the cause of your battery drain, and it is likely caused by either the modem flapping or constantly trying to register with a cell tower, or perhaps Wi-Fi. So your next test is airplane mode overnight.
My overnight losses are around 5% at the moment, I'm only on Wi-Fi overnight, the mobile network is off as I get next to no signal.
Mine dropped 20% in 8hrs over night, seems a bit excessive.

I'm super paranoid about this stuff, and so since I knew that an OTA was in the pipe when I received it, I just skipped the first time setup to go straight to System Update and install the OTA
Then I factory reset, and only THEN I set it up properly with my Google account etc.
So I guess this answers your question
Digital Wellbeing is on for me tho (lift to wake is also off, as it tap to wake - although there's the bug, I think, which would still enable the screen in B/W mode when phone is lifted).
2% in 7 hours is awesome, that's what I'm aiming for, but I'm really not willing to root
I guess I will re-factory reset and maybe installing apps in batches, instead of all in one go...
EDIT: just re-read your post and you said you haven't made any of the root-enabled modifications yet, so even more call me amazed. I guess I'll also try disabling Wellbeing at this point...

It is, especially if you consider that it's 1000mAh.
A Pixel 2 XL dropping by, say, 10% (which is still much higher than what I used to get), means a consumption of 352mAh.
In terms of efficiency, a crappy P2XL performace is still thrice as efficient as what we're seeing here on the P6Pro (and ideally tech should move forward and become MORE, not less, efficient...)

Yeah,
In terms of root, I hadn't done anything with root until this morning really so there shouldn't be anything affecting my idle drain figures that you wouldn't be able to do without root.
Otherwise, try turning off all digital wellbeing features (bedtime mode, timers and focus mode) and remove permissions to digital wellbeing and then clear data. Try that for a few days and see how that has an impact.
I've noticed the same issues, I would normally have my phone switch off over and and switch on but this doesn't seem to have that option

Quite agree with you there, my Pixel 2 XL often goes 5 or 6 days without needing to be charged, although to be fair I'm working from home and it gets little use during those days and only on Wi-Fi for most of it. so not typical usage. I don't think the Pixel 6 Pro will go as long, in theory with exactly the same usage it should go for longer as larger battery and newer chips sipping less power, certainly when doing little in standby.
Too early to tell if the Pixel 6 Pro can better 5 or 6 days as I've been playing with it a lot more, but in theory it should without question, so something is seriously wrong it it can't.
As for the Pixel 2 XL, I dip into it now and again, and the one thing I'm missing on the Android 12 is not getting true black, why have they made black dark grey on all the setting pages etc? Why reduce contrast? I'd love to be in those design meetings just to see what rubbish they come up with to justify some of these changes.

IIRC full black will cause smearing while scrolling. And the display of the P2XL was, let's say it, crap.
The Pixel 2 XL display looks absolutely fine to me, and I have never seen any smearing when scrolling. When we had LCD everyone was raving about OLED having true blacks, and everyone wanting a dark mode, now in many places in the UI it looks worse then most LCD panels for contrast. So its now fashionable to have artificially lowered contrast.
Android 12 DP2: Dark theme on Pixel gets even lighter
Android 12 has tweaked dark mode again in its second developer preview to make it even lighter than the previous release.

I can but from what I heard in one of the TG groups today, BBS isn't working properly due to changes in Android 12.

Go to settings, Digital Wellbeing and turn off all the options if you turned any of them on. Go to Settings, Apps and then find digital wellbeing and remove all permissions, then within that section also wipe data for Digital Wellbeing. That pretty much resets it back to stock. Without root, you can't freeze the app or remove it but this should be good enough.

Mine lost about 7% overnight last night. I've read on this forum that they aren't sleeping well. With two adb commands I installed Nap Time by Francisco Franco and it seem to be going into a deep sleep when not being used now.

I've got NapTime as well. The trouble is light and deep doze is just the Android OS restricting what apps do and forcing them into maintenance schedules so things are done in batches. So its an app thing rather than a low level forcing of the phones CPU to sleep, so even in light or deep doze it doesn't guarantee that Android has been halted and the CPU is in sleep, that is another thing step. It should make Android more likely to suspend and the CPU to go to sleep if Apps aren't allowed to chatter over the network, but deep doze doesn't guarantee the phone has gone into standby.
Other things can prevent the device from truly suspending and putting the CPU into sleep mode, so other things may be happening, it might not be an app issue.
To check how long the CPU is in deep sleep (essentially the phone is off and Android is suspended and is what we need to see so top battery drain overnight) CPU Spy can show you that, currently mine is showing 82% deep sleep overall. When you see a low percentage of deep sleep and high percentage at 300Mhz, then something is stopping the phone for sleeping, so it is kept awake doing little so idles constantly at the lowest CPU clock speed, but this still uses quite a bit of power compared to deep sleep.
The age old question for those of you having battery drains, Did you turn off wifi scanning?

Hello all,
I recently purchased a LG G4 Back In July , on Verizon, switching over from A Galaxy Note 3 (Tmobile). Honestly I really really like the phone, but I think the battery life is pitiful for a $700 dollar "Flagship" phone. I mean not once has it ever lasted the full day. I had to buy a spare battery kit, with 2 batteries, and days when im out from 6am to late at night, I go through 2 batteries, and have to put the 3rd one in. I mean , this is simply unacceptable for a phone like this.
Also, the camera is excellent WHEN it works. A lot of times, it doesn't take the picture right away, there is a delay, and many times it falls out of focus. This is certainly not the high quality camera they advertised.
I am hoping there is a way to fix these 2 issues, mainly the battery issue though because it is awful in my opinion. Is there any tweaks or fixes for these issues?
You've barely given any relevant information other than how unhappy you are with the device, so I would suggest that you elaborate on that.
You could inform us if you're a heavy/light user, if you keep NFC, LTE, Bluetooth, Syncing, Wi-Fi, on during the whole day or maybe if you are used to 100% brightness display. Maybe you should check in your settings what is draining your battery and provide us the info.
I'm having a pretty good experience with the phone so far. It surely lasts a whole day with 3:30 to 4h SoT. I don't even need/have a spare battery.

One person having an issue doesn't mean it's not a great camera. You'll find it's likely still the best flagship camera of any OEM.
Battery use is so dependent on which apps you run, which mods you have, how often the screen is on, what brightness, signal strength, wifi, bluetooth, etc etc etc...
I came from a galaxy s3 and reckon the battery on g4 is awesome. I use it solidly on internet for 2 hrs a day (to and from work), check messages etc through the day, usually internet at lunch. And then evening time check facebook etc over WiFi infront of telly.
I unplug at 6am and plug in around 11pm with around 3% left. I bought a 2nd battery and only needed to use it twice. It has to be how you're using it.

13 hours on battery for me today and still 71% left. Light usage but it does illustrate that the battery life can be excellent.

of course, you can get excellent battery life on every smartphone - just put it in aeroplane mode..
I get MAX 3h of SOT time on my G4 - this is with fixed brightness at 65% (at all times) and only wifi and 3g enabled (NFC, bluetooth and everything else is turned off all the time)
to be fair I have yet to own a smartphone that lasts me more than 4h SOT..
the thing that annoys me the most is the broken knock code used to unlock the phone - it works 20% of the time at best
its a completely broken feature LG has not properly addressed since launch of the device (I am on V10e software)

There have been numerous firmware updates since. Have you ever performed a full factory reset after getting those updates ?
If the answer is no, then this is one potential reason for poor battery life. What you could try is to clear the system cache in recovery. Note, i said system cache not apps cache. Idea here is when updates come in there could be conflicts and it causes the system to work harder. clearing system cache might help, if it does not then the only option is a factory reset and then a manual install.
not restore. You install apps in batches, monitor, then install more and so on. You can restore contacts etc. but apps themselves will have to be reinstalled. Sometimes apps go rogue and have to be reinstalled. Its hard to tell which app is causing the issue. Otherwise you could just reinstall whatever app that seems to be taking up more than it should be.

What types of shots are these. It can happen with portraits some times. It will focus on the background behind the person instead of the person and the face becomes softer and the background very sharp.
For this set focus little above the chest instead of the face. If they are wearing dark clothing this will cause other issues so focus on something else at equal distance that isn't dark.
Always check the shot at the pixel level soon after you took it. Rather than at the end of the day.

Just to clarify: I had everything turned on for those 13 hours - wifi/data/bluetooth/GPS. I also made 2 phone calls and did a bit of Chromecasting using the BT Sport app for a couple of hours. Or to put it another way, I didn't take any measures at all to preserve battery life.
I used to complain just like you're doing OP ( @dredmentia ) and fixed it all with a Zerolemon battery .
Is the phone bulky/no leather back/not easy to handle... , it sure is but if battery life is crucial then it gotta get fixed.
End my day anywhere between 7 to 13 hours of sot depending on WiFi or 4g and high CPU freqs, tried light usage and hit 3 days with 12 hours sot. Snap/insta/twit/fb/periscope/... Nothing kills this battery in a day.
When and if we get a kernel I'll move back to factory battery at least then I know I'm in control of how CPU works coz while optimizing the phone for wakelocks that's the only thing I have no control over...
As for now I'm just trying to burn thru this battery every day so I can charge it every night...
Last phone was a Z3 Sony and that really grabbed my attention with its battery life in stock form, almost too perfect, Almost.

Answer everything asked in full.
I had excellent battery life before the Sept & Oct updates, now the battery life is terrible. Used to have an overnight sleep rate of about 0.5-0.7% /hr, now it's around 1.5%/hr.
Also, AccuBattery consistently estimated my battery capacity at around 3850-ish (I charge to 78% and pull the plug) but now it's lucky to get to 3650.
I've been through a ton of settings, disabled Background on plenty of apps, set up as many as possible in Sleep & Deep sleep.
Did Samsung screw up these updates up for anyone else?
I think I've worked it out - I don't let Google Play auto-update apps (too many times new versions are total ****e) and there were about 48 apps waiting to be updated. There were a bunch of other Samsung and Google apps that were updated without my intervention before this.
After hitting Update all and cancelling the two I don't want updated then a reboot, the standby consumption calmed down a lot. Was it the Google Play queue or maybe the other apps needing the reboot? Dunno, but I'm glad the sleep battery drain is almost back to where it was.

Wow, that is impressively low.
What Power Mode settings are you running?
At the very least update one apk at a time and never do a firmware update until it's been proven especially if you have a fast, stable platform...

Medium Power Saving,I use it while I don't play games (rarely).
Story continues ... battery drain was getting quite high on standby, despite me barely using the phone and mucking around with Medium Power Saving, Adaptive Power, etc. Got quite low the other night (20%) so I put it on Supercharge and decided to turn it off while charging to 100%.
I know, I usually avoid charging past 80% but I've only done 3-4 full charges since getting the phone in April.
As soon as it hit 100% I unplugged, power up, did all the usual unlocking, checked the battery was on Optimised and Adaptive Power Saving was On, then closed the cover for the night.
Next morning I was really shocked to see it had only dropped about 5%. The phone has been running nearly 46hrs and the battery level is at 50% ... nice.
Accubattery stats
21% screen on 40m
29% screen off 45h5
Deep sleep 41h39m
So maybe the battery needs a bit of exercise every now and then ... ?
It's been a few weeks but I finally tracked this down to the recent A10 updates screwing up 5GHz Wi-Fi somehow.
I saw a clever suggestion about putting the phone into Airplane mode, so I tried that with the battery charged to 100% and in the morning after about 10hrs the battery had only dropped 2-3%, which was amazing (to me).
So over the following weeks i alternated between airplane on/off and 2.4GHz vs 5Ghz Wi-Fi, to confirm what I was seeing, finally abandoned the 5GHz connection and the standby battery drain has been much more to my liking.
One of the tests involved leaving the phone on 5GHz with it sitting on the desk beneath the Ruckus WAP all day and the battery drain was again quite high despite having a super strong signal, so it's not a signal strength issue.
I can't imagine what Samsung have done to screw up the 5GHz channels but I'm staying away from updating to A11 for at least 6mths, maybe never.
OneUI 3 and A11 seem to have introduced a load of other problems which I'm sure will settle down in time, but I don't need to be one of their guinea pigs.
Tks to all that participated here, suggestions were definitely helpful.
The idle drain is ridiculously low, but I can't help but think something is draining the battery while I use it. It can't all be the screen, but my number one offenders according to GSAM are Android System and Kernel OS. I can post logs if need be, but is there anything else I can do?
I'm using the middle resolution, 120hz, auto brightness, no location, BT on, 5G turned off... I don't know what else I can try. No clue how some people get 6-8 hours of SoT.
What's your idle drain figure? I'm just curious to know. Mine hovers at around 2-3% per hour during the day. Sorry I can't be of more help. I think mine behaves the same way.
Overnight I see a .2% drain, it's the smallest drain I've seen on a phone.
I even tried to re-optimize apps through ADB and that did nothing, last night I tried wipes Ng cache and charging it overnight... Currently at 96% with a whopping 10 minutes if screen time. I swear it's something with these photos best and Verizon judging by the other thread regarding screen time on this forum.

It's possoble you have a lot of background optimization still running, try running the optimize command from adb to force it to finish all of it. See here

Also, turn off RAM booster in settings, it just pre-runs apps in the background to try to shorten load times even though load times are fast already
Maybe it is just me...
But what is the problem with these numbers?
Just charge it for 20min when low battery...

Going out and about, making phone calls, chatting, listening to music, using 4G or 5G the entire day...
That's using a phone. And off course you are not going to get 6h SoT in these situations.
This is not a Nokia 3310...
All the nice flagship features of the phone require battery power.
Hence, Oneplus gave it the ability to charge it in 20min...
Buy a battery pack or an extra charger.
Or, try an other kernel.
@berfles just for sport, try turning off ambient display to see if that helps.

I'm pretty sure the people getting those times aren't sitting there reading a book. I browse the internet, listen to music, and use social media and it barely lasts the entire day. I don't think it's out of line to want similar battery life to my 3 year old phone. Having it drop 5% with 10 minutes of screen time and 40 minutes off the charger is not "good battery life", therefore I am checking to see if there's anything I can do about it.
Also, ambient display is already off as well.
But your 3y old phone does not have the same display, for exemple...
Post some screenshots of your usage during the day.
With numbers.
Yup, I have the exact same issue. Also tried other ROM's but that didn't help either for me.
You may try Omega-Kernal with an conservatie scheduler. Not the best solution but it might work
I've had the phone for about 2 weeks. The battery life is horrible. I leave the phone charging over night and sometimes it stops charging all together. Last night I went to bed with 100% charge. Left phone laying on night stand. Woke up to 70% battery after 8 hours of doing nothing. Mobile network standby used 42% of my battery drain. What is going on with this phone? Should I get a warranty claim replacement?
edit: 11/30 Turning off Adaptive battery and Adaptive charging helped. However, still getting a replacement phone. I get no signal pretty much any where. Thought maybe it was because Tmobile network. After a few days of troubleshooting the phone and getting new sim card and esim, I literally get 1mbps downloads if any connection at all. On Pixel Reddit many others are saying their P6P is getting no data, seems to be a modem issue?
Check in the settings if "adaptive charging" is enabled. I believe it is by default.
This feature attempts to sync up your overnight charge with the time you wake up.
If it's miscalculating when you wake up, it might not be charging enough. It should eventually learn when you do wake, assuming it's the same time, etc.
But you can just switch it off completely and allow the phone to charge as it normally would.
As far as mobile network standby goes, I'm not sure. I've noticed in the past this is usually because little to no cell service, so the phone is trying very hard to find a signal (boosting more power to that internal module) and thus draining battery more. Do you have poor service where you sleep?
Factory reset and when ask to transfer data from another phone. Don't. You may have a rogue app.
I also have a high usage on "Mobile Network Service" but doesn't seem to affect my battery much. My overnights drain on my P6P are 5% max.
Battery charging is slow but my P6P has phenomenal battery. Set it up from scratch like I always do with a new phone.
Battery charging is definitely slower than my Galaxy Note20 Ultra, but I like the adaptive charging at night. If you set an alarm, it will trickle charge and reach 100% just before. This will prolong battery life but I think the standard charge could be a bit faster. 65W like OnePlus probably does more harm than good in the long run but a true 30W shouldn't be an issue.
the latest update doesnt fix battery drain... update ending 037... although the fingerprint sensor is better
Not another nitpick on the Pixel thread. My battery life is good, nothing lasts forever.

Did you check whether you use adaptive charging?
It's designed to let the phone fully charge ONLY shortly before you wake up (set wakeup timer).
I mean, it never properly worked for me, but maybe it does for you. Lol.
My Battery life is fantastic! I have adaptive battery on. When it's at it takes about 20 min of hard use to even move from 100 to 99. I have no idea why yours does that but I'm beginning to think these are trolls because so far my p6 pro is a powerhouse. Works amazing. I love this phone. Every other dam post is complaint after complaint. Even crappy phones on other forums don't get this kind of grief. Google probably over hyped the phone and people are annoyed that they had to wait to get one or it's a massive drive by Samsung to tone down the sales of Google.......Too bad Samsung won't just allow bootloader unlock to be easy and painless. Otherwise I wouldn't BE Loving my p6 pro.....
As others have pointed out, adaptive charging is supposed to slow the charging down so it hits 100% within the hour of your alarm to wake up. You can actually see it say adaptive charging on the always on display at the bottom of it's engaged. But not hitting 100% isn't what it's supposed to do. What charger are you using with it?

That's not actually a good thing unless each point takes the same amount of usage. This actually suggests that the battery level is poorly calibrated.

People here asked you many questions to find out of it's a user mistake/problem, or if the phone is the rootcause of the issue.
You answered not one single question (as of now).
So it's fair to assume that you are a troll.

I'll try turning off adaptive battery and charging. I read some saying the adaptive battery isn't working right even after days of "calibrating." And the adaptive charging is new to me, turning that off also to test for a couple days.
I have tmobile and the entire area from my home to work is covered in 5G. Was working great on my S20+ for a couple days until I got the Pixel 6 Pro. I went to tmobile store yesterday. They gave me a new SIM and checked their system. I'm literally about 1000 feet from a 5G tower. They showed me a calendar supposedly they've been working in the area and having intermittent service issues, doesn't explain why I get no signal all day.
I've factory reset the phone and didn't copy over anything from my old phone, seeing if that will help.

I'm currently trying out Adaptive Battery off for the next week just to see if there's a noticeable difference. I'll be tracking it with AccuBattery Pro and took a screenshot of my a averages before turning it off.

I remember talks back in the days when it was introduced (Android Pie, Pixel 3 I think) and already then people claimed to improve their battery life by "turning that **** off" - it would be a bit devastating to know that Google still hasn't fixed that.

Wow it has been that long since it was first introduced. Time flies. Just on day one right now and I'm already seeing more screen off drain. Will see how every turns out next week.
Return it.
May be a battery failure in progress.
While many Androids can be battery hogs until they sorted out, all should charge normally with a known good brick and cable.

Hi. I'm typing this answer form my new P6P as Google decided to replace my old device. I set up my phone from scratch without transfering anything from old device AND THE ISSUE IS STILL THERE. Insanely high network standby battery drain +25% of the whole capacity. This is nuts. The employee told me specifically that I won't have this problem with my new device. I don't know what to do. I think I'll just return it and to for a different phone. Btw my partner has a non-pro P6 and he has exactly the same issue. Our sim cards are vodafone.de. Lost count how many hours I was trying to fix this problem. What a time waster.

Good luck, hopefully the factor reset fixes whatever was going haywire. Usually that does help people as a last resort effort
I just came from S21 Ultra and I'm noticing a huge drain in my Fold 4 about 15% to 20% overnight and I'm not sure if it's normal nor where it comes from.
I disable AOD during the night. I used GSAM to try to figure out the culprit with no luck.
Do you have any thoughts?
I leave mine on a wireless charger overnight so not sure then, but it seems to barely drain anything through the day unless I'm actively using it. I did notice the first 2 or 3 days though it seemed to drain a lot faster while it was "learning" my habits. Now I have no fear of getting through a full day of heavy usage even though I've set the charging to cap at 85%.
A lot of things can affect it. 5G data takes a lot more power than wifi and I run wifi at both home and work so I'm rarely outside of a wifi range. I also use wifi calling. I don't use AOD except when there's a new notification.
I would speculate there is an app on yours not allowing deep sleep. Mine so far has only been dropping 3-4% through the night.

I thought so at the beginning but looking in gsam I found out that combined app cpu is consuming a lot of juice. I'm a long time avid android user and I've looked into all the possible causes but surely I'm missing on something.
EDIT: battery drain while I'm using it is superb, but it drains while standing by.
I noticed with the Fold 3 it took a few days for things to settle and apps to sleep.
But def check what apps are NOT going to deep sleep. Then add those that don't need to run in the background.
I have the 3, waiting on my burgundy 4, and with very little use during the day I get good battery. At night, it would drop but not by 15-20%.

I guess it'll figure out how to last longer once it learns my behavior. I've installed battery guru to monitor things and hopefully catch the culprit.

I do recommend taking the time and settings the apps that don't need to run in the background to go to sleep. I don't need a calculator running, so it can sleep. And so on.
But yeah, you'll see things level out.
Be sure to report back whatever happens!

I don't know if I've ever had a phone with better standby drain than the Fold 4. Just an experiment but I took it off the charger at 3PM yesterday and didn't touch it until 5:30AM this morning and it was at 95%. This is just the 3rd full day of use. I am using Nap Time with a couple adb commands to give the proper permission for an unrooted phone. Also turned of continuous scan for wifi and bluetooth, disabled Bixby and a lot of the bloat too.
Hi
Update: so I let it stand by and I guess the culprit is oneui home app and it's strange to me since it's drawing more than it should and keeps the device awake, and for some reason keeps the screen awake as well.
I've cleared the cache and force closed it and I'll see if this fixes the issue.

1% standby drain per hour on ANY smartphone is exceptionally good. Looks like you are 2.5% drain per hour. That's not terribly bad though either.
Try putting phone into flight mode before you go to sleep. This will tell you if drain is radio/app related or the core OS.

If its home, maybe a widget that's loaded doing polling not allowing deep sleep? Worth nuking them all see if it makes any difference.

Battery guru
I like battery guru so far. I use to use Better Battery Stats from here on XDA but it doesn't seem to work as well as it use to. I noticed that I have nothing logged for wake locks, is that a limitation on the Fold 4?
At this point, I give up.
My fold doesn't sleep at all even after a factory reset and wiping the cache, I can't figure out what is causing this issue. It's drawing anywhere from 5% to 10% per hour while standing by.
I advise you to install "gsam battery labs", and in the settings of this app enable "show more statistics" (this require a PC with adb minimal package installed, USB debugging on on the phone and a USB cable).
It can tell you which app uses what % of the battery and for what reasons (downloading, GPS usage, etc), even for system apps, and most importantly even when the screen is off or the phone is dozing.
This as been my go to app since using android phones, in combination with accubattery (which doesn't show system packages or anything usefull while screen off).
As for my ZF4, when the screens are off it is using 0.5% per hour during night time (deep sleep) and 0.9% during the day (light sleep)
