Hi,
I read that Screen Call will be activate (or has been activated) in Europe, and it's great, but it seems the feature appear to some people only. Do you know if it's a rolling release and we just need to wait, or if there is maybe some conditions on it? (for example, I'm in France, and on the operator Free Mobile, who doesn't support currently VoLTE for the Google Pixels (they announce the support for December).
And is the feature notified when available, or should I check regularly in the Phone app settings?
Also, for people who already tried it in France or Germany, or any non-english country, do you know if it works only with the local language, or if it can adapt automatically to the country that is calling me? (sometimes I receive call from UK, I think there could be a better understanding if my phone respond in english instead of french).
I'm in the UK. Yes, my set language is English and not French or German, but I have this kind of error at present. I'm hoping that it clears up as I tried this at the very beginning so on T

uesday afternoon
Working here in the UK. Downloaded the language file, and worked straight away.
Have really wound my son up when he called me just, by experimenting with it.
He got so annoyed he put the phone down on me
Same here with the error, downloaded the language pack and just get:
The update isn't ready yet
Wait a few minutes and try again
As far as I know, it only works in the language of the country where you physically reside. So if you use the new Call Screening in Germany, it will only work in German. At least the interface and the voice will be in German - maybe it can understand English or French or Japanese, but the phone app certainly doesn't tell you that.

In the phone app setting, should be under the Assistive heading if you have it, just above Caller ID and spam (I'm on the beta for the phone app).
I don't see it on mine in the UK.

Do you have your phone language set to a compatible language? And only to that?
New Google AI app features (assistant, whatever) tend to break if you have some secondary languages activated that are not supported.

Call screen is not available in the "Caller ID and spam" setting.
It should be one settings tier higher up, right above it - under "Assistive".

Mh, odd. Would be nice to know if other UK users have the same problem. I know of people in Germany and France who can already use Call Screen, and read about people in Italy and Spain that were able to use it; maybe it's some sort of regional rollout, or maybe it has something to do with the firmware version. Even though that's unlikely, since I still use the old .015 one and it's working for me.
Thanks for the answers, I double-check I had only one language on the phone. So I guess I only need to wait some times for the Call Screen activation... Would be nice to have a small hack to enable it, but I can wait. I guess it's maybe a random rollup, I don't think it's regional as all french smartphone was packaged to add the USB-C earbuds (french law make mandatory to sell these with a phone as a "hands-free kit" for drivers), but all french doesn't have the feature available at this time.
I also tried to see if it appear after using a VPN (with UK, Germany and US location) and clear cache/force shutdown for the phone app, and still nothing. (I know this was working often with firmware update on my previous OnePlus phone)

VPN is not enough to fool Screen Call. You need to spoof your location, language, use an unlocked App version via sideload and even then chances are slim that it's going to work. Back in the days it was possible to sideload some stuff and activate a couple lines code, but then about a year or so Google changed most of the Call Screen stuff server-side, so you as an enduser can't to ****. They either unlock it for you - or you're out of luck.

Latest update from o2......i emailed yesterday:
"Apologies for asking a question that you are no doubt sick of answering, but are you able to give an estimated release date of the WM6 rom update package for the XDA orbit?
As well as having one personally – I am currently organising a large number of the units within the company and would prefer to update the software prior to doing so.
Any guide at all would be very welcome, and again apologies for asking."
And the reponse today?
"Good Afternoon
Thank you for your e-mail.
There will be a ROM upgrade available very shortly, which will provide WM 6 functionality.
Unfortunately we have no exact timescale, but we would advise to keep checking our Xda web site www.my-xda.com as from the start of next week.
Sorry we cannot be more precise with our answer, but if you have any further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards

Presumably if you remove the custom set-up, you have to configure all the GPRS and MMS settings ?
If you have already run the custom set up and then remove it, would those settings remain ?

1) No it doesnt remove the settings and
2) correct, they stay.
Well for me they did anyway.
But there is a program "O2 Operator settings" on my Orbit, that can not be deleted by uninstalling it through remove programs as its not listed.
It sets up the settings on a hard reset and can be run again incase of emergencies.
Not looked at unlocking the extended rom but I dare say it is in there and could be extracted and kept.
there is a file that will do your settings for you.
I've not managed to find that o2 file that does it all for you - maybe my search skills are weak !!!!!!!!

Was in an 02 store today, my orbit wifi wasn't working for the 3rd time. told them i was fed up with it. then told the assistant that on the forums it says that wm6 improves wifi reliability and when this was going to come out. he said he didnt know when it was out. he then rang 02 customer services and asked they said they didnt know. i then told him i am cancelling my contract as they were breaching the terms. he then rang another number and after about 5-10 mins, comes back, and says it is due to be released on the 24th of july or sooner. i then left with a brand new perfectly working orbit.
so wait it out!!!
just emailed again
..asked them if they could give any more clues....i'll post the reply when it arrives.
However, do we really need the official o2 rom when B&B 3.7 offers so much more.
I'm gonna give it a try - but i'm guessing it will miss the boat
Add touchflo to 3.7 and I probably won't even bother TRYING the o2 rom!!!

Especially for HTC home has small font like first and second screen.
Anyone can tell me how to adjust it. ?
What font are u using now? looked like Korean to me. First of all u have to understand that in 96DPI most fonts will look really small, that's why I use Verdana for the system font because it is bigger. Also some fonts have the tendency to scale out of displayable windows.
Yes i am using korean font. brother you stay in KL.... im in SG....
initially it show normal size.
But there was problem on displaying korean font.
And i try a few way to make it work for korean. then this problem comes out.

Perhaps you can do a full export of your registry using Regedit tools (dont use PHM Regedit) and send them to me. And please also include the font itself. Maybe i can find out what's going on.
Looks better.
Thanks for your comment.
I tried many other type of korean font and finally i got bigger font to display.

Hi ...
Just curious, i am not on this cooked ROM yet as i am still finding a way to backup the official ROM. Is the latest cooked ROM marked i780DXHE1 for both Phone and PDA ROMs?
co6ra,
i780DXHE1 is the official rom. The one which EFN cooked is only the PDA rom. There is one standard pda rom file available but if you want to do it yourself, it is relatively easy to do it. There some tools that make it easy for you.
By the way, how's your gps? Have you managed to find a fix?
no....i have gave up trying...i think i have tried not less than 20 hrs.....
I have sent back the unit to the SSC thru my colleague. I am back to my old Benq P50. the screen looks so yellowish....
according to my colleague, when he sent the unit to SSC yesterdat, the front desk person claimed that it is the gps software issue. He said he will flash that unit with the latest ROM and test it again. If no luck, he is asking my friend to bring it to Agis support. I hate this kind of Tai-Chi service, troubling money paying customers...
guess u have backup your PDA ROM and make it flashable? Can u share with me?

That is crap! Your friend must really make noise. Don't forget that when we buy the device, it is clearly stated that Agis is bundled together with the phone. And if Agis software does not work well, it is their responsibility to make sure that the bundled software works well.
If WM 6.0 do not work well, can they say "Please take it to Microsoft?" If the ARM Cpu is faulty can they say "Please take it to XScale?"
Also, getting the signal is through the qualcomm gps chipset. You have prove that the signals are not captured (your log is the proof). This has nothing to do with the software at all.
Another thing is that there are plentiful of people who got their devices working, using the same software. If it is software issue, people would be first in line to file their complaint.
You have your rights, and it is only right (pardon the pun ) of you to exercise them.
Tell your friend not to go to Agis, that would be pointless. If a trip need to be made, it has to be the Samsung Service Rep, not you, not your friend.
ya..i know...but my friend has no knowledge in PDA at all. He does not know how to argue with the front desk personnel. I totally agree with you in the product service, we buy that unit as a bundle from Samsung, they have to make sure it works. If i were there, i sure argue with them.
Korean Fonts
Hey goodmaz,
Would like to know which font set are you using to display Korean? Did you install Diopen or SmartCJK (as asked by eunjea) or just changed the registries after installing a font set? Would like to get my i780 and wife's to display Korean.
I did not use third party software
if you can read korean, you can go to korean web site www.naver. com
you register as member and join to cafe related with M480 , i780.
you can find valuable tip and file.
you can find hangul no 5. you can see korean with this. also you need to install korean locale tool kit. you can able to see korean font. some of ROM not able to read korean. even though you install previous 2 software. then you need to change font.
cheer.
Did I get "Developer's Tablet" ? (Not able to select ENGLISH (US) as system language)
Just to be clear, I am not talking about the keyboard language. I had no problem
there to download and use English (US).
I am talking about the 'system language' for all menus etc.
Right now I see PERSONALISATION instead of PERSONALIZATION
and I see COLOUR instead of COLOR.
I bought this tablet for a great price from Canadian guy so when I saw this at first
I was not surprised as I thought that I would change this very easy. When the tablet
arrived - I did a complete factory reset. After the boot-up I do not recall that it asked me
to select a country or anything like that. I am playing with all the menus but I was not able
to select English (US) for system language. I just thought it had something to do with the
fact that I got the tablet that was originally from Canada and it had a different version
of Kernel or a different Build Number.
I thought that the best way to find out more would be to compare it with a tablet
from U.S. retailer.
I took my tablet to Best Buy's Samsung kiosk and the folks working there could not help me either.
As you can see below, the versions are identical (the only difference is the device name - which I changed).
(BB tablet on the left - my white tablet on the right)
However, when I get my tablet to Language selection screen - my selection is quite limited vs. Best Buy version
(I am thinking - if folks buy this in Canada, I am sure they can choose between Francais (Canada) and
Francais (France) - if this option is available on US Tablets, right ?
Right now - on my tablet I can chose:
[Developer] Accented English (zz_ZZ)
English
Espanol
Francais
Korean
Chinese
Chinese
If I chose the developer English or regular English - my menus are the same - (in UK English)
with personalisation and colour.
The tablet in Best Buy has obviously more selections.
This is not the end of the world - as long as I have English (USA) downloaded
for my keyboard - I will be OK with spelling. However, if there is a quick way around
to set the whole tablet to English (US) I would appreciate any input.
More importantly - if there are Canadian users here, can you please go to your
language settings and see what languages are available? As I said above - it is
very possible that I got what used to be a 'developer's tablet' and I cannot select
any other language that are on my tablet now.

Have you tried contacting the seller? Did he state that this tablet wasn't tampered with? Maybe custom ROM or rooted to remove some settings?
YesI did. There is no custom ROM.
The device is not rooted. (....the "Device status" is still showing *Official* (not rooted),
vs. *Custom* (which would be rooted)
Does your local best buy have a Samsung store inside? If so, ask them to do a factory reset with the smart software. They got my Note 3 back up and running after I almost bricked it.
Sent from my SM-T900 using Tapatalk
Thanks for your reply. I did the factory reset once I received the tablet.
Yes, my local Best Buy has the Samsung Kiosk (they also flashed my original Note 3
with Kitkat when AT&T and Samsung were troubleshooting my phone's Wifi modem issue).
But as you can see from the above picture, my tab (on the right) as well as theirs (on the left)
already run the identical software. Do you think that another re-setting with
'smart software "could achieve anything ? What is smart software anyway?
Is it different than what is already on the tablet (and available at the reboot on factory reset)?
Thanks in advance !

Thank you for your reply. I checked - Knox counter was at 0x0 so it was not rooted.
Good news though as the issue is now solved:
- took it to Best Buy - Samsung kiosk.
Good folks over there flashed my tablet with their US ROM and now I can chose
the same languages (including English US) as the tablets in the store!
Really liking this tab ....now if I can only resolve the issue of the over-sensitive screen
Call recording is included in One UI but is accessible only through the Dialler settings. Due to this, it may not come to the attention of a lot of users who might expect it to be under the normal Settings app. The following image lists the steps to be undertaken towards enabling call recording on the A50 or in general on any One UI device.

The screenshots are from my device, so unsure why the option isn't available to you. The calls are recorded and stored under a 'Call' folder at 128 Kbps in 'm4a' format. Presently my phone is running the latest firmware but the screenshots were taken using the previous version. However, the functionality has always been there.
The only thing that comes to mind is that I had done a factory reset after the first update. It is possible that this might have made a difference, but I can't vouch for it.

yeah coz it's illegal in a lot of places to record calls without permission - that's why most call centers have the canned message "this call may be recorded for quality assurance" - it's so you can decide to hang up if you decide you don't want to be recorded

Just hold the call button, then you can choose which SIM to make call.
Edit: It only works on recent calls screen.
Is it possible to install another version of dialer (previous one)? I really can't understand why they ruined a simple to use app.
What dialers are you using for dual-sim phones?

This implementation helps me a lot because I use SIMs from 2 different countries and I don't want to press the wrong button. I have many times pressed wrong buttons before.
Not only has Samsung destroyed a feature that makes it easier to make calls, but it also ruined the Audible features that I use all the time, now I wonder what else has been deleted or added that They think is good for the rest of us. We must all call these "Don't ask or tell what you want or the changes that matter to most all of us that have dual SIM setup. I need this phone for business and personal. I am searching for the previous op sys now.

This option is not available on the missed calls... If I have a missed call on sim2 and call back it now uses sim1... I liked the Android 10 better for dual sim
Well i recive mail from support where they conifrm i can forget this feaure anymore. So i sold my S20+ and buy MI 11. Keep it good work samsung
I will write to Samsung Report as well..
Any other place this app can be reviewed in other to put pressure in Samsung? Galaxy Store isn't possible..
Hi Everyone - FYI this same issue has been posted on many Samsung Communities threads and unfortunately Samsung has zero plans to fix the Samsung Messages app for SMS. Samsung also has zero plans to fix the dialer on the Samsung Phone app that results User Experience issues, Security Issues, Cost issues and Privacy issues.
Here is the temp solution....Just revert back to Android 10, UI 2.5 and you will get both SIM1 + SIM2 buttons for calls and Messages
