REQUEST for all rom DEVELOPERS(wm5,6)

I had flashed my universal with windows mobile 6 and saw many new thing in it but wm6 is not even in beta i mean its not work ok.And its not good for the ones that want to use pocket pc programs .
I want all developers to get some of the useful pocket pc stuffs from wm6 to wm5 aku3.5, for example the great remote desktop, the new media player(ivan test 2 had wm6 mediaplayer), email client and .....

MediaPlayer, RemoteDesktop and Mail Client in WM6 works PERFECTLY! We don't need to rewrite it or corrupt compatibility.

I can see where you are coming from. Having dipped my toe in the Crossbow pool, there are bits I'd quite like in a WM5 ROM, but that's just down to the developers.
However, I think you find that Ivan's Test2 EMail client isn't the one in the Crossbow ROM.
I'm sure as time goes on, we might get more confident as users, and we might be able to pick and choose components to put in our own ROMs.

i dont mean to change wm6 apps to wm5. i mean getting wm6 programs in wm5

I agree. I still have a hell of a lot to learn about ROM editing (like how not to destroy "initflashfiles.dat" every time I try to do anything) but as someone who likes my ROM's "Vanilla" flavoured, I'm always stripping stuff out of them, and they usually continue working...
I've even managed to find things to take out of Midget's ROM - Now we just need Buzz or Mamaich or someone to figure out how to re-partition the DOC, and I'll have enough storage space for a load of my own useless stuff!

So it's time for Request ?

I dont think developers need the packages from microsoft when they have wm6 rom,

Lol, yeah. They might as well send us Photon as well, while they're at it.

I agree with Midget. So far all applications used have been compatible with WM6 for me. Except the oZVGA program where some icons and visual things begin to be missing.

The problem is occuring on Infidels ROM while using oZVGA and not your ROM.
I think that CAB will also work on Infidels ROM and fix the oZVGA issue XD.

i coudnt run Flexmail ,pocket informant,Yahoo go and.....

Go to the official HTC site and download your 6.1 update. I just checked it out and the downloads there. I'm about to install the rom and see how everything is. I'm not sure if it has gps or not (fingers crossed)

Hey A1jatt... definatly right. I've been messing around trying to get the telus link to work, putting telus in where bell is more or less and changing the BM to TELUS. No luck though.
I called the tech support line but its not in service so I emailed, I dont expect a responce for a few days as most support emails take that long. I asked if they could fix the link, understanding that it takes some time to update websites in the meantime could they email me the rom directly? ALSO is this update the anticipated GPS update like the altell users got.

Where did you get this information? The Bell ROM update page on HTC simply says:
The software upgrade posted below provides several key enhancements for your HTC Touch (Bell):
Improves Bluetooth performance, eliminating the need to re-activate Bluetooth after device resumes from suspend state.

For the update. Doesn't state anything about 6.1 or anything else. I'm with Bell and not sure the ROM update is worth it, if it's not at least 6.1 with GPS and the other features.

They cleared the telus upgrade page.
The link was bad on the telus update page. I tried calling their support line to at least report it but the number was out of service so I emailed and asked about the rom, if someone could fix the link and if that was going to take a while to just email me the rom if possible, as well as asking if this enabled the GPS antenna.
I couldnt sleep (its 3:30 am) and just checked the site... well now the page is completly empty. It aparently was easier to wipe the page clear as opposed to just linking to the right rom.
At least we know what to look forward to with the rom when they fix all of this. Rev A, WM 6.1 and I can assume.. but could be wrong... but GPS or AGPS since Telus navigator would use this. Although I think thats a subscription based program I'm not sure. I use tomtom and navigon so... yeah... Hopefully soon!!!
I assumed that since the link was the bell rom that they would be similar but you're right, the bell rom says nothing about rev a or WM 6.1. So the telus rom must be way better. I cant for the life of me imagine that Bell would let Telus get away with updating their phone to be way better then theres though so bell must have one in the works as well to to be released soon

I was at a telus store on Friday (the 6th) and one of the salespeople told me that there will be a ROM update within 60 days. She said it will be rev a, and windows mobile 6.1, she was a little iffy on GPS. The info is on their dealer site, not on the general telus mobility site.

Just an update. I have gotten about 3 emails from HTC in regards to the telus update. They'll be fixing the problem shortly. Thats about all I got out of them. As I figured no exact date but it WAS supposed to be up on friday or whenever it was that I had saw it. It was just a linking issue for whatever reason. If you go to the website it doesnt even show the software/upgrade download button anymore. So they must be doing something. Its been up and down for the better part of the weekend. I'm thinking another day or so. I've saved the link in my phone so that I can check it while on my job sites so I know I can look forward to flashing once I get home. I guess we'll find out about the GPS as soon as its actually posted. I'm really hoping it isnt another 60 days.

I got a similar promise from my salesman back in December. Among other lies, he had promised I'd see an update in Q1 and that it would enable Rev. A, GPS(unlikely), and WiFi(impossible). Fact is, the salespeople aren't normally given information about software upgrades until they're actually released. Perhaps your guy has another source, or has made a guess. My guy straight-up lied.
So, I suggest you call his bluff. If in fact there is no update in the next 60 days, call customer service. Your guy was probably right, though so just keep this on the back-burner.
In my case, Telus has agreed to exchange my phone for any other windows mobile phone, at the time of my choosing, regardless of price. They even suggested that I wait for their new batch of phones to come out this summer. I don't know if you'll get a similar offer, but I can promise you they'll at least offer some free features.
As for GPS in the update, Telus Navigator has been mentioned in some of the documentation and in a couple of my emails with HTC and Telus. That's a subscription service, but it does mean the GPS portion of the chip is active... we'll probably have to do some tweaking to be able to use it with other programs.

Evo7 (Tamagotchi App)

In the German Forum "PocketPC " came the desire for a "Tamagotchi" App.
A colleague and I have therefore decided to develop Windows Mobile for this app.
We are still very inexperienced with XNA and will therefore develop V1.0 with visual studio and Blend.
V1.0 is almost done and we hope to present you this App in the next weeks.
The good news:
We are offering this app for free as long as incurred no costs for us. (servers, Web services and so on)
In addition, the app will be free of advertising.
We hope that international interest is as great as in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and we would appreciate it if we get help in developing, in case we need them.

Yes, it's developed without XNA, because we have no experience with XNA.
But we're working on that and maybe v2.0 will be developed with XNA. ;-)
Also we're waiting for the new toolkit. More information about the online-stuff later. More screenshots, too. ;-)

yes microsoft found a bug or something like that. the developers fixed it and submitted again (with version 1.1) last week

HTC Update for Windows Phone enables Hidden W-Fi App from HTC

The title says it all. Came home and after dinner, I plugged in my HD7 and Zune popped up. Suddenly, update was automatically ran and after a while, an update popped up, "HTC Update for Windows Phone".
Was fiddling with my MobileOperator value this afternoon, changing it back to "SIN-SG" from "000-88" because I was worried about having updated to NoDo using the VPN method.

Thanks, but there is nothing which seems to be o2 Germany. But I found this post:

And it says, o2-Germany is "O2O-DE". So I tried it and i got the HTC-Update, which did not pop up with "000-88".
So I can finally use the HTC hidden wifi App. Nice

I tried a few mobileoperator including
SIN-SG and O2O-DE, but I'm not getting any update from HTC?

Don't hidden network IDs cause more security issues than just using MAC filtering? Or a half decent network code? Anyway, this update isn't worth my colors going to crap just to use an app that I don't think the average consumer gives a damn about anyway lol

what firmware did you have before update? you have a vodafone branded version or unbranded?

I thought this update was taken down by HTC with the last update? I only just got my WP7 Arrive a couple of weeks ago and am learning the quirks of it. I need this option for my work since the current OS, NoDo, doesn't support this. My work area has a hidden WiFi and with this not readily available I am stuck waiting until Mango becomes official as I don't want to install a incomplete Beta OS.
Where is everyone still finding the Hidden WiFi update. I would greatly appreciate it.

I haven't been able to locate it. I emailed HTC and they said they pulled it due to finding out it was an unsecure program or there were security flaws in the program so they took it off the shelf so to speak.

Question Questions about Screen Call in Europe

Hi,
I read that Screen Call will be activate (or has been activated) in Europe, and it's great, but it seems the feature appear to some people only. Do you know if it's a rolling release and we just need to wait, or if there is maybe some conditions on it? (for example, I'm in France, and on the operator Free Mobile, who doesn't support currently VoLTE for the Google Pixels (they announce the support for December).
And is the feature notified when available, or should I check regularly in the Phone app settings?
Also, for people who already tried it in France or Germany, or any non-english country, do you know if it works only with the local language, or if it can adapt automatically to the country that is calling me? (sometimes I receive call from UK, I think there could be a better understanding if my phone respond in english instead of french).

I'm in the UK. Yes, my set language is English and not French or German, but I have this kind of error at present. I'm hoping that it clears up as I tried this at the very beginning so on T

Working here in the UK. Downloaded the language file, and worked straight away.
Have really wound my son up when he called me just, by experimenting with it.
He got so annoyed he put the phone down on me

Same here with the error, downloaded the language pack and just get:
The update isn't ready yet
Wait a few minutes and try again

As far as I know, it only works in the language of the country where you physically reside. So if you use the new Call Screening in Germany, it will only work in German. At least the interface and the voice will be in German - maybe it can understand English or French or Japanese, but the phone app certainly doesn't tell you that.

In the phone app setting, should be under the Assistive heading if you have it, just above Caller ID and spam (I'm on the beta for the phone app).

I don't see it on mine in the UK.

New Google AI app features (assistant, whatever) tend to break if you have some secondary languages activated that are not supported.

Call screen is not available in the "Caller ID and spam" setting.
It should be one settings tier higher up, right above it - under "Assistive".

You checked the language settings and that your phone app is updated to the latest version?
It's working for me :/

No secondary language, all set to the UK.

Mh, odd. Would be nice to know if other UK users have the same problem. I know of people in Germany and France who can already use Call Screen, and read about people in Italy and Spain that were able to use it; maybe it's some sort of regional rollout, or maybe it has something to do with the firmware version. Even though that's unlikely, since I still use the old .015 one and it's working for me.

Thanks for the answers, I double-check I had only one language on the phone. So I guess I only need to wait some times for the Call Screen activation... Would be nice to have a small hack to enable it, but I can wait. I guess it's maybe a random rollup, I don't think it's regional as all french smartphone was packaged to add the USB-C earbuds (french law make mandatory to sell these with a phone as a "hands-free kit" for drivers), but all french doesn't have the feature available at this time.
I also tried to see if it appear after using a VPN (with UK, Germany and US location) and clear cache/force shutdown for the phone app, and still nothing. (I know this was working often with firmware update on my previous OnePlus phone)

VPN is not enough to fool Screen Call. You need to spoof your location, language, use an unlocked App version via sideload and even then chances are slim that it's going to work. Back in the days it was possible to sideload some stuff and activate a couple lines code, but then about a year or so Google changed most of the Call Screen stuff server-side, so you as an enduser can't to ****. They either unlock it for you - or you're out of luck.

I figured it out!
If you switch off WIFI, then reboot only connected to 4G/LTE it will appear in the phone app.

Didn't work for me, but I guess this is the kind of feature that would need maybe a reboot after activation to be available...

mine appears but keep says update is not ready yet when downloading pack
