Yesterday i had my TP2 on the bed.. anyway i tried to call someone and noticed that again my touchscreen went dead (it happened 2 times before) and both times it recovered without me doing much.
during the night the battery died and when i plugged it in today it started up but it wont go back from landscape... touchscreen still is not working.. and when i call someone the mic is dead... i cannot hear them.
When i try to make it go to sleep it wakes up again
The phone works with hardware keys, but i`m utterly dissapointed by HTC
RIght now i`m waiting it to charge up and reflash the latest ROM from Energy... any other hints would be appreciated
thanks
wow, that is very strange.
is your device exposed to anything out of the ordinary?
dont know why you would get hardware failures like that. But maybe its software issue? try hard-reseting or flashing back to stock rom and see if that does anything.
wiping the device...
I think it's time for a change in OS (nexus one)

Is the screen completely dead, or is the touchscreen just not responding? My touchscreen just topped responding a few days ago. I tried a soft reset, hard reset, and re-loading the stock ROM, but the screen still wouldn't respond, so AT&T swapped the phone out for me.
exactly... the screen works just not the touch. I bought the phone of a HTC reseller unlocked with no contract a year ago
Hi All,
I have purchased this before 1 month, updated to Lollipop and rooted.
It was working properly but since few days it's giving major touch issues time by time..
Automatically touches different angles on screen, mostly left side, drives the phone crazy, calling last dialed numbers, ruining everything, you know the pain
I thought it was because of the Tampered screen guard, I removed it today, restored a previous backup, even did a hard reset - No Luck
If anyone encounter the same and/or know how to deal with this please, I'm waiting for a reply.

I'll answer myself
I had to give it for repairs and they've confirmed that it's a touch pad issue.
Phone will be replaced.
I guess hardware quality is low in these mid-range devices.
Has anybody noticed an intermittently unresponsive touch screen after the latest OTA? I haven't had any problems since they fixed the original problem way back when.
It goes completely unresponsive and I have to reboot several times to get it to work until it stops again. I'm assuming this is a hardware issue on my end since I haven't heard anybody else talking about it but I just wanted to make sure.
I think I will try a different kernel and/or ROM to see what that does.
Hi,
I have the same issue here, it started a few days ago for me. Up till today I just had to reboot but now it seems completely blocked... I will try again later but this is becoming really annoying
.
I had the same happen to me about 2 months ago. Happened around an OTA.
In the process of trying to replace it. Tried flashing recent factor images but no luck
I've had exactly the same issue as described. Hardware buttons work fine, but no response to touch. Started intermittently and got progressively worse until there is no touch response at all.
The first time this happened, I contacted google support, and they arranged a replacement. That was in June.
The replacement device has now developed the same fault, which progressed in the same way as the first device.
Just got off of the phone with Google support, and my second replacement is now on it's way.
Fingers crossed for 3rd time lucky.
Same thing...
This has started to happen to me -_- replacement is on its way. Doesn't seem like the problem is being fixed more or less just addressed...

Sadly they don't think the Pixel c is important enough but least the RMA is straight forward.

Ditto here. Just received "refurbished" (was actually new--factory wrap, unopened) replacement unit two days ago. Had my initial Pixel C about 10 months with zero issues. Then, a couple weeks ago, touch responsive became spotty, typically cured by putting tablet to sleep and waking. Progressively got worse until no touch response whatsoever. Physical buttons worked fine. Factory reset, tried flashing prior OS versions, etc. Nothing worked. Stock / unrooted.
But, Google customer service was very cool about the replacement.
How were everyone able to contact Google Support? I have the same problems with the touch screen, but am not able to find a way to contact Google about it. I had bought mine straight from Google Store.

I had the same problem after an OTA Security update yesterday. Booting into recovery and erasing cache fixed it for some time, then problem reappeared. Can be fixed by repeating the procedure. Seems a software problem to me.
Same problem. I can't even get it unlocked now as nothing registers.

I guess this is just a hardware issue because it happened to me twice and both times Google provided me with a new tablet. The only advice I can give you is to contact the support because in my opinion nothing can be done at our individual level...
Will they still replace out of warranty? Purchased Dec 21, 15. Tablet had been flawless until yesterday.

Hmmm I highly doubt it, but you can give it a try. Did you try to factory reset yet, just in case?
Yes, initiallyit was slightly working as of Wednesday and I factory reset. No change, but it registers no touches now so I can't even unlock it.
Google is getting me a replacement so I thank them greatly for that.

yeah, google did the right thing by shipping a replacement, bill3508. i just hope whatever hit your device is isolated.
2 issues I've come across lately with my Pixel C tablet:
1. Touchscreen unresponsive
The tablet has lost touchscreen responsiveness. When I touch the screen, nothing happens. Buttons pressing ok - it works.
I have connected the device to the PC by Vysor app. Using a mouse from PC I can manage. I tried diagnostics in programming options (I've turned on show touches on touchscreen and localization of the pointer) but no touches detected however mouse moves yes.
Rebooting didn't help - many trials. Safe mode neither.
I haven't done a full recovery to factory settings yet. I am afraid of loosing USB debugging mode. Looking foreward to finding software resolution before warranty replacement.
2. Power button doesn't light up the screen - possibly backlight fault (software?)
After few trials with power button the screen shows up. Sometimes I try reboot but the problem returns. It is randomly, sometimes after one pressing power buton, sometimes lastlky after few trials withe few rebooting.
When I put the tablet on light (a lamp or sunshine throug window) I can see the view of the screen darkly. So there is the view but without brightness.
Android 7.1.2, N2G47D
I have the same problem now.. However I've noticed the following: When the device is in the case which covers the screen and has a magnet, the problem will persist. If removed from the case and left for a day outside, the problem is gone (so far at least). I will return the device for a replacement and hope google can replicate the issue. Anyone else using a case with a magnet?
Yes I have the same problem and also a magnet case. But for me the problem is not gone, after removed from the case and left for a day outside .
Now I get a replacement from google.
Should I now no longer use a case with magnet? Is the case the reason for a broken pixel c?
I am in Rochester and was looking for like minded friends.
I recently relocated back to Rochester from China after being away for 8 years.
I have a Xiaomi Max 128gb that was working fine for about 45 days after arriving.
It then did an OTA update from Xiaomi then the touch screen stopped responding.
Since then I have tried to do Full Factory Reinstall, zip flash, tgz flash and non resolved the touch screen functionality issue.
Since then the battery drained and the screen no longer turns on. I am trying to find a way to do a diagnostic of the hardware without the screen working and possibly find an OEM replacement screen or a service center. . .
Do you know of anyone that maybe able to help locally?
Here is my update on this issue.
I just bought an OEM replacement screen and digitizer. I completed the test to see if the new one works it does not boot up or power on. I wonder if it is a motherboard or battery issue now.
Is there any way to test and determine where the fault is located?
Hi everyone, the phone was working fine, it was left to do an update for 3:00 in the morning. Couple hours later realized phone was blank/ black screen. Followed steps to do power and volume down and all it did was vibrate. It vibrates when plugged in. Two technicians looked at it and said it was a screen problem but a new screen was tried and it only showed a charging sign and after that it went blank again. I am wondering if it was android update that breaked the phone or is it something else. What specific hardware failure or is this software failure?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
My cousin had a similar issue with a black screen when they woke up - however their phone automatically reset itself and lost all data while updated to Android 13 overnight.

Hi, Thanks for reaching out. Definitely seems to be a Samsung problem. This problem however cost me a phone. That's life. Thanks again.

tried a firmware reflash?
anyways yes. samsung is a **** and has given me terrible experience with my a32. they dont pay attention to midrangers at all pushing out broken ota updates. My fingerprint sensor is now bricked permanently (no like actually. downgrading firmware doesnt help. its just gone. its fine physically. according to logs but something else broke ig). Then that stupid mobile data bug. where if i was using mobile data jt would disconnect from the cell towers and reconnect. as if there was no service. i saw many people have this issue. I was forced to use a gsi. One ui 5.0 is still pretty terrible for this thing. its not optimized at all. I am waiting for one ui 5.1. the final big update for this phone. Samsung seems to be pushing it out for all the phones. even cheaper than this phone. but looks like they forgot abt it.
