Hello everyone. Since a few weeks, I have a strange issue, never had before: everytime I open a music player (every music player, musicolet, simple player, lg music player), the phone locks, and it's almost impossible to unlock it, via fingerprint or else, because it locks itself again almost instantly. Because of this problem, it's almost impossible to control the device, to access volume control, and even to stop the music playing. I found that, if connected to a bluetooth device or a wired headset, when disconnected it stays unlocked a bit longer, and it's possibile to stop the player and close the app. But the issue occurs everytime I try to play something, connected or not.
Has anybody experienced something similar? Could it happen because I inadvertently activate some option? I found none, but since my phone is extremely sensitive to "bottom activating..." could be possible.
It's a LM-G710EM, Android 10, december 2020 security patch.
TIA for your kind answers!
Enrico

Hello All,
Quick problem and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has a fix for it.
Basically, I play my music and vids through my car stereo via a bluetooth receiver. It works fine for the most part. However, if I try to wake the phone up while listening to music, the audio will stop playing. The track I'm listening too will still be playing in the app, but there is no audio being output. Once I put my lockscreen passcode in the audio resumes. I've tried with all of the lockscreens,, including no password/pin, fingerprint, etc.
Also potentially related, my phone plays a short alert beep whenever I unlock my phone. This happens whether or not the mute is on, or if I have the lockscreen sound option turned off.
I've tried disconnecting my bluetooth devices, rebooting the phone, checking every single option in the menu and cannot find a solution. Any help or advice you all can offer is greatly appreciated! It's not big deal to put my lockscreen password in, but this is potentially dangerous while driving, and quite frankly, I hate having my groove interrupted
Thanks!

Since the new March update, my Bluetooth does not work when my screen is off. Help!
To elaborate, my phone and radio connect. When I want to skip a song, I have to wake the device. This was not the case in the previous version. I have it as a trusted devise and tried to disable dose in many combinations without any success. Any ideas?
When you turn on the device is it on the current app that's playing music? I noticed if I go to another app/homescreen I can shut off the screen with the music still playing.
I'm not looking to shut it off, I want to be able to drive and skip songs via my radio skip feature. It doesn't matter if it's the open app or not, it does not respond if the screen is off
I have an update and solution to my previous message about my Bluetooth not allowing my car radio to play via Bluetooth. I found the problem. For some reason, if my phone shuts off without a lock screen, it shuts off my Bluetooth from changing or pausing music. The song will play, but I will have no ability to make any changes. The solution is to only allow the phone to turn off with a lock screen on so that any time my phone turns off whether I push to lock or it times outs the lock screen will show up and as long as the lock screen is on my Bluetooth works. I don't know why this is the case but I least found a workaround.
I was losing my mind trying to chase down this exact same issue, but setting it to lock as you did seems to have resolved it. Thanks!
Thanks! I was going crazy trying to sort this for my girlfriends 6P and had a hint it was lockscreen related as it seemed to work if you turned the screen off manually (which goes to lock immediately, rather than the 10 minute delay she was using)
Thanks for confirming and that it isn't a one off issue with her device, this is definitely a bug Google need to fix!

Hello Agouracaguy, I'm facing a similar problem with my LG G4 connected with my JBL Horizon speaker, I wonder if you could help me solve this problem:
I'm trying to use my bluetooth speaker to play my Spotify for alarm. The problem is that when I set the alarm for less than one hour, for example, the alarm plays my spotify perfectly. The big problem is that I want to set the alarm at night to play in the next morning and when the alarm is set for a long period like this, my LG G4 simple doesn't play the spotify which makes my JBL to sound the beep alarm instead of the spotify.
When it happens I've noticed that when I turn my G4's screen on it starts playing the spotify. I've already added my JBL as a trusted device, I've already left my phone unlocked but none of theses made no difference.
I've tested my JBL with other phone, a Zenfone, and no matter for how long the alarm was set, it was able to play spotify flawless.
Do you have any idea how I could solve this?
Hi folks,
have just changed from Moto Z to Moto Z2 Force and now, I am having a real nasty problem: Bluetooth Audio Streaming (Napster) stops after a while. I have already set an exclusion for battery optimization for Napster app (don't optimize), but still no joy - after some minutes, I still have to unlock and relock the screen, music continues playing for some minutes again and then, the same again, music stops, unlock and relock screen, music continues playing etc.
Any solution?

im also having issues with bluetooth, since headset will disconnect from time to time and while streaming music to a bluetooth speakers (bose, harman, jbl, chinese, etc) audio will cut from time to time, until bluetooth connection drops an will have to restart phone in order to connect again
i still haven't found any solution, its pretty annoying
Here, too. Maybe the drivers are not so good. Hope android 9.0 will be better. Any date for this update? Maybe end of this month? I hope so. It's time for that.
I've been experience a few issues with the new update. One of them, which is more a nuisance than anything, is my bluetooth connection to my car. It's a 2015 Mustang with MyFord Touch. The phone is a galaxy S8+. About 1/3 of the time when I start the car, the phone shows up named a bunch of random characters, instead of Galaxy S8+. Not a huge deal. My music player starts automatically (even if I close it, and kill the process). The thing that's weird is that the audio is kind of hollow sounding when it starts up UNTIL I turn on the phones display, then it kicks into a fuller sound. It's never done this before. Not only that, but it decides when it wants to display track information from Samsung music player only a small portion of the time.
If I'm playing music through Amazon Music, it updates the track information, no problem. If I switch to Samsung's music player, it just displays the last track I played on Amazon music, and never changes. If I start the car with the music player going, it won't update track information until it gets to the next song, and even that is spotty.
Aside from these issues, and the issues I'm having with the default browser, I think it's a pretty good update. But this music thing is really bugging me. For the record, I've tried rebooting the phone. I've tried changing through the AVRCP versions in the developer options, I've toggled Dolby Atmos on and off, changed the sample rate, channels, etc. Nothing seems to be affecting this problem.
On a side note, how do I close the music player so it doesn't automatically start playing when connected to bluetooth?
Thanks in advance. If this doesn't belong here, let me know.

Did you ever try to update your car's firmware or going to your dealer and ask for it? I think it's because Android 9 is "too new" for your car
I updated to the latest firmware about 6 months ago. No new updates since then. It would be kinda bogus if android 9 made a 4 year old car obsolete, but i suppose it's possible.

It could be possible that you have to expect for a new car firmware or ask to your device forum if anyone else have your same problem with android auto
Good call. I'll pop the question over to my mustang forum. Thanks.

Hi!
I have tried two headphones (Sennheiser M2 IEBT and Focal Listen Wireless) and two audio players (Youtube Music and BlackPlayer) and got the same result: after toggling a pause on headset any attempt to resume a playback after a couple of minutes results in nothing. That is Bluetooth control is lost. I'm forced to take a phone, unlock, start player and start playing back.
It is interesting, with Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4 I don't have the problem regardless headphones and players: Bluetooth control is kept at any case.
The most performant mode is selected in battery settings. The last official firmware (169) is installed.
Please, help me to resolve this very annoying issue!
I've noticed that when I play media content using a third-party app and then pause it from a Bluetooth device, sometimes that app gets terminated in the background and when I try to resume, it starts playing from the stock EMUI music app instead.
Although I haven't tried this, disabling battery optimisations for your music apps might prevent them from being terminated in the background.
Yes, all battery optimisations for players are disabled. Also, a lock was activated for players on recent apps screen.
I have tried a couple of settings on the developer configuration list (amount of background processes and amount of Bluetooth devices), but was not lucky.
Ok, can you, please, share your experience in having or not-having described problem?
