Is there really no way of changing the default file format for screenshots, even with root access?

I've been looking at Desktop Virtualizer, I like the idea, just testing things out at the moment.
I have found this website http://www.iconspedia.com/
If I had photoshop around I would make my own to suit, but there are some really good icons there, and they can be downloaded as .png format.
What I would like to know if people have any idea, is there a way to hide these .png files that i'm saving in the gallery?
Thought I would share the above with you, a lot of sites do psd files too, haven't checked if Desktop Virtualizer will recognise .psd files, but as a graphic designer in another life, there freely available to use such, aslong as you're not putting them in ROMS

This is what I do...any images you don't want showing in gallery place a .nomedia file in the containing folder. I specifically create folders for images I don't want showing as I find it easier to manage that way...One thing to note: this method hides all media not just .pngs...
You can create a .nomedia file by saving a blank text file (e.g windows/notepad) filename: .nomedia and save as type: All Files
After that you *may* need to:
Go to settings - apps - gallery
Clear cache, clear data, force close
Go to settings - apps - media storage
Clear cache, clear data, force close
Hard reset (cold boot) this will not delete any data
Next time you open Gallery it may not contain anything, but give it a minute while the system is still scanning the device & you will find that only the folders you want to be visible, are visible.

Is there a way to change the folder/place where the screenshot is automatically saved?
To be clear, I know you can easily move the picture after its saved, I want to change the default save location.
(I don't want to save the shot then move it, just auto save it to a new folder)

I use pictures2sd in xposed installer
Recently I have noticed that my screenshots do not save properly anymore because my phone apparently forgets to add the ".jpg" at the end of the file name. At least, that's what I think is the issue? Whenever I send over those screenshots to my computer, they are unrecognizable until I add the ".jpg" at the end.
Not sure if anyone else has had this problem but I kind of wanted to fix it if possible because it's kind of annoying
They are actually stored in PNG format but adding .jpg will launch your photo viewer which is smart enough to know how to load it. It is hard to tell by that image if the files truly have no extension because you don't have extensions turned on in Windows. Does My Files show them without extensions?

Oh! JPG was just the first extension so I didn't know XD; But yeah, before I rename the file manually, the file is unrecognizable and my PC had no idea what to do with it S:
Hello, I wanted to try a mod to improve the camera, I have to change one file media_profiles.xml similar, and assign the same permissions, try to root browser but do not let me replace nor let me assign permissions to the file you upload to the SD memory ... according to the guide should be able, any idea why I can not do this?

no but use smart cleaner.
Find in settings menu
Default gallery app does that.
Correct.
What about moving specific photo to another directory? Default gallery only move jpg file, raw file is still in dcim folder.
Nobody knows?
Last try
Nobody knows?
Why do you need those raw files? Why don't you just not shoot photos in JPG/RAW and only in JPG?
Don't quite understand your question...
If I have the option to take a picture which is uncompressed and unprocessed like in a dslr camera why not doing it?
Second, raw files are easier to edit after you shoot them.

You can do that manually in a filemanager, like ES File Explorer.
Yes, that's so much trouble, why bother?
That's exactly what I'm doing now, using es file explorer.
I like to manage my photos in albums, its much easier and working with es exlplorer after moving the pic from gallery is not so intuitive.
