no but use smart cleaner.
Find in settings menu
Default gallery app does that.
Correct.
What about moving specific photo to another directory? Default gallery only move jpg file, raw file is still in dcim folder.
Nobody knows?

Why do you need those raw files? Why don't you just not shoot photos in JPG/RAW and only in JPG?
Don't quite understand your question...
If I have the option to take a picture which is uncompressed and unprocessed like in a dslr camera why not doing it?
Second, raw files are easier to edit after you shoot them.

You can do that manually in a filemanager, like ES File Explorer.
Yes, that's so much trouble, why bother?
That's exactly what I'm doing now, using es file explorer.
I like to manage my photos in albums, its much easier and working with es exlplorer after moving the pic from gallery is not so intuitive.

Is it possible to keep certain picture files from showing up in my gallery?
My problem is my gallery is flooded with pics from all my UCCW files , very cluttered it is !
Thanks for the help .
Yeah just name them something else the gallery won't be able to show like .txt. or you could mount USB to PC and select and delete any pics you don't want there.

If you create a file named .nomedia and place it in a folder, any pictures in that folder will not be shown in the gallery. There are probably a few .nomedia files in folders on your phone already that you could copy/paste as well.
Either that or use QuickPic

I'll try the nomedia suggestion. thanks !
I read... alot! And every time I download an EPub book it puts the cover art into my gallary as a new folder. I have over 200 in there now! Is there a way to put them into a separate folder and keep the main gallary folder for just my photos - still have them work as far as displaying the art and download to the new folder?? Or perhaps have my photos go to a specific folder?

Create a .nomedia file in your ebook folder and it will skip that folder for scans.
I had to do that for quite a few locations to skip them.

I appreciate it but how would I go about doing that? Not a complete newb, just a partial one.
I use an app called es file explorer for all sort of file/folder related tasks.
I browse to the folder on my internal or external card and hit new to create file in that folder and name that file .nomedia

Tried that but it doesn't seem to be working. I"m searching the device for other places to do this with and see if that works.
That worked! Thanks alot!
Recently I tried to hide unnecessary images from gallery by putting a .nomedia file in that folder. After that I realise I have put the file in the wrongly in my SD card root folder causes some of my picture won't be displayed in the gallery. And then I deleted the file but it still not showing up in the gallery. Any idea how I could solve this???
*QuickPic and ES File Explorer can open and view the pictures just fine, but the stock Gallery app cannot. I really need the stock Gallery app to work because I need to choose my own lockscreen wallpaper.
can this directory be deleted to save space or will this wipe the actual photos from the gallery?
thanks

It can be deleted (the contents of this folder, not the folder itself) but thumbnails would be re-created. It might still be good to delete it from time to time since it might contain "orphaned" thumbs....

Hey folks,
Im in a bit of a pinch, I could not get PTP transfer to see any of my pictures I have taken from my recent vacation. In an effort to "get stuff done" i used a file explorer to move my DCIM/Camera folder to Downloads and now all my pictures are gone from the Photos app...
I have a few pictures that I have not backed up that are quite valuable to me, Is there a way to recover those? Is there an easy way to image the memory and use a 3rd party block level recovery software to scan for JPG signatures?
I tried accessing shell via adb and just running find . on /sdcard but unfortunately that doesn't list any of what i was looking for.
Any help would be great, thanks
PS Im running stock Rom/not rooted/5x on 7.0

Are you sure the picture are gone or just not displaying in photo app. Sometimes they won't display in photos app but are still physically on sdcard viewable from file explorer.
There are apps that can refresh the media cache or you can probably copy the images back using builtin android file explorer. I wouldn't erase the media cache as it could start renaming your sound files during recreation which could mess up your ringtones.
