Since I updated to Android 6, my phone keeps losing one of the SIM cards, specifically SIM 1. Most of the time it just loses network connection, and then disappears altogether and replacing it doesn't seem to work. It is not a SIM card issue because whichever SIM I put in the slot, it behaves the same.
I have noticed a quick fix, wiping cache from Recovery every time this happens, but I read somewhere that wiping cache too frequently affects the phone in the long run. What solutions do I have? My Warranty is expired so HTC can't fix it.
Someone help.
Hi All,
Would it be possible on root'ed phone to block message which started to pop up after latest upgrade about use of 2xSIM cards + SD Card?
The message blocks completely use of all three at the same time whilst was perfectly working prior update (reports from other users confirm this):
The message says:
"Sim card tray slot problem" there seems to be something in your sim card tray that doesn't belong there"
And overlays completely screen - nothing else is possible.
More details with screenshots under this thread:

It has to be possible - and I truly hope someone can do that, maybe Xposed or something with Magisk could help?
Any hints are more than welcome as currently I've had to pull out second Sim card with SDCard out of the phone (they are glued).
Version which brought this issue first is: G960FXXU2BRG/960FOXM2BRG4/960FXXU2BRG4, size 580.93 MB
Unfortunately I do not know what was original out of the box version. Manufacturing date is: 2018.05.21
Thanks!

Forgot to say, yes, I'll try to do this with Odin (unless anything else recommended) as short term workaround, though it is more important for a long term.
All new releases will include this and the issue is to find long-term fix, hopefully Xposed or Magisk. The issue is that Samsung guys read this forum too and instead of helping, they're blocking us - I've used to use S7 with 2xSIMs and MicroSD without issues for more than a year and was super happy with everything.
On S9 situation - detection seems to be done on logical level, as combos slided into the slot where SD card is covered with thin plastic film, as expected SD card is not detected and both SIM cards work fine. This only proofs that there's no "pressure" sensor and all seems to be verified at logical level, i.e. if SD card and SIM card in Slot 2 is detected at the same time - block usage and popup that nasty message.
Question remains open - how to block that message and be able to use SD cards and SIM in slot 2. Hopefully one of devs might help.
Please see below thread where a lot of people showing their interest to get this fixed, preferably by Samsung, though I'm sure if someone could deliver a fix based on Magisk it would be more than welcome, even if it would require root.

one more thing to try to really determine that for sure is - there are people who filed the sd card n sim card thinner and glue them together without using the extender - if theirs' the same now means really is Samsung

I had a s9 with oreo and it worked perfectly two SIMs with SD glued. Now I have a note9 and I got stuck in the pie with binary 2 and I can not return to oreo, which is binary 1. Anyone has any idea how I can get rid of this "Sim card tray slot problem .... There seems to be something in your SIM card tray slot that does not belong there ... " on android pie? I'm very upset with this

I just tested another Note 9, now with oreo 8.0.1, security pacth of 08/01/2018. It did not work either. Therefore, no stock rom of Note 9 (Oreo 8.0.1) will accept two sims and SD card at the same time. It seems that root is really the only alternative.
Hello all,
I was trying to check for updates for PIE today and installed a VPN. Cleared the apps (like on tutorials says to do), installed a VPN, took the SIM card out.
Checked for updates and nothing popped up. So, gave up and put again the SIM card. Since that moment, I don't have mobile. No calls, messages, mobile data.. Nothing!
Removed the SIM card, exchanged the to the second tray.. nothing!
Reseted network settings.. nothing!
Erased even all content and settings (factory settings) and the SIM cards are still not being detected.
What can I do?
Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite running PIE
MacBook Pro (don't have a windows computer working now
Thank you!!
Edit: Not sure if there is an issue with the card/network since I tried the SIM card on the OPO and is not working either. Don't have another SIM card to try on the MI A2 Lite to test.
For now, please ignore this post. I may have done several things to the phone and the issue may be on the SIM card itself.
Second edit: after all the TS done, went to the carrier store. It was an issue with the card. Replaced it and all is good now.
If possible, a moderator can delete the post. Thank you.
I can switch SIM cards quickly when useing stock ROM.
Just like this. Huawei EMUI 11: How to switch SIM cards quickly
But after I installed LineageOS, I can't do that anymore.
Is there some way to switch SIM cards quickly ?
Hi everyone,
I'm having issues with a physical SIM whereby my phone (Xiaomi 13 Pro) doesn't want to activate the SIM line nor can I input the PIN to unlock the SIM card. Essentially the phone is happy with the SIM not functioning at all and there's no way to change the status. I want to mention that it did prompt me the very first time I inserted the SIM for initial setup but hasn't been since then. Rebooting, turning airplane mode on/off doesn't seem to prompt the unlock/activate the SIM. I have to use that specific SIM on another phone now. Any clue on how to solve this or force the phone to unlock and activate the card?
Thanks!
Maybe try deleting the pin code with the other phone and/or using the other location.
