Hello all,
I was trying to check for updates for PIE today and installed a VPN. Cleared the apps (like on tutorials says to do), installed a VPN, took the SIM card out.
Checked for updates and nothing popped up. So, gave up and put again the SIM card. Since that moment, I don't have mobile. No calls, messages, mobile data.. Nothing!
Removed the SIM card, exchanged the to the second tray.. nothing!
Reseted network settings.. nothing!
Erased even all content and settings (factory settings) and the SIM cards are still not being detected.
What can I do?
Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite running PIE
MacBook Pro (don't have a windows computer working now
Thank you!!
Edit: Not sure if there is an issue with the card/network since I tried the SIM card on the OPO and is not working either. Don't have another SIM card to try on the MI A2 Lite to test.
For now, please ignore this post. I may have done several things to the phone and the issue may be on the SIM card itself.
Second edit: after all the TS done, went to the carrier store. It was an issue with the card. Replaced it and all is good now.
If possible, a moderator can delete the post. Thank you.

I keep getting this pop up randomly (see picture) saying my SIM card has been removed so the phone will restart, then it just reboots.
Everything works as normal before and after.
Sometimes I even wake up to find my phone has rebooted (and is asking for the SIM PIN code)
Any ideas?
I have the same problem.
Still not find any solution?
They recommend reset to factory defaults(clean cache and wipe system)
But I have read many users suffered same symptom after doing this at lg g3 forums here.
Some of them changed sim cards?
Can you find the reason or solution?

Sounds like you both have developed a corruption or have been hit with some malware.
First, if you have a custom recovery installed, restore a clean backup, one where you know the issue hasn't occurred.
Best bet, if a clean backup is not available, is to first do a full scan including SD card with a good anti-malware app (scan your phone from your PC/Laptop, not from an app on your phone).
Next, reformat your SD card completely (preferably in a card reader on your PC/Desktop), and copy only one clean thing back over to it, insert it, then re-install your model's stock kdz with LGUP-NEW and see if the problem recurs before adding back one at a time anything you had on your SD card before and testing each one individually before adding any additional items back on your SD card.
Hello everyone,I'm from china so forgive my English
I have a problem recently and seems there's no other guys have this issue as same as mine.
My device has been unlocked and rooted, and I've flashed a unofficial ROM based on H2OS,and then the most weird thing is my SIM card slot 1 just can not work normally.
The specifically situation is,(I'm pretty sure that both of my SIM cards can work normally and one of them is a brand new one.) when I use the slot 1 only, every time I put the card in and after about 5 hrs then my device just can not read the SIM card,it shows up no SIM card inside, and it can't be solved if I reboot my device. I have to take the SIM card out and put it in again and after about 5 hrs it shows no cards in again like a loop.
And then I have tried my card slot 2, lucky for me it can be used well, none issues.
The third situation is when I use both my SIM cards, after bout 5hrs
It still shows up no cards in, both slot 1&2. And I still have to take the cards out then put them in again or I can just use the slot 2 only to avoid this weird situation.
And now the latest news is I used twrp to root my device again and now it seems everything works fine in slot 1, but I have to wait for 5hrs to make sure of this.
Oh I forgot one thing, once I tried to uninstall xposed but it seems nothing to do with my SIM card slot 1 problem
it shows up again!
No SIM card inside when I use the slot1 only.
it really upset me now and don't know how to solve this problem.
I may have had a similar problem. Sim1 would forget that I had a card installed every hour or so. Sim2 would forget there was a card installed once or twice a day. The only thing that would fix it was reseating the card and rebooting the phone. I suspect a loose Sim card tray and had to RMA my phone.

have you fixed the problem after RMA?I've already bought a new tray and waiting to try
I'm still awaiting my replacement phone. I will let you know when it comes in.
Just an update: the new phone works fine. It's safe to say that my first phone had hardware problems.
Hi. I've got weird problem. Coincidentally, I updated my OP3 to OxygenOS 5.0.1 and at the same day i changed my mobile operator (so my sim card too, of course). Since that day i have got very weird problem. After reboot my phone doesn't recognize my sim card anymore (just like any sim card wouldn't be inside phone). This is happening once in a few reboots. One of the problem solutions is another reboot (But this doesn't always fix my issue). Another solution is to put out sim card nad put it inside phone again. I don't know is it problem of:
1) Phone hardware
2) Update
3) Faulty new sim card
Is anyone having similiar problem after update ?
Hello there.
Recently I got this smartphone and new complete working microSD 64Gb 10Class, and I set it as Internal Storage.
I've updated smartphone via OTA to Android 9 PKQ1.180917.001.V10.0.4.0.PDLMIXM
And now there are several problems:
1. I get sudden reboot very often, and after it phone says that SD card is not found. So I have to turn off phone for a while, and then turn it on again (sometimes 2-3 times). And then I have to re-set all configs (default apps, widgets, etc, that is installed to SD). That's annoying. Is there solution for such reboots and SD missing?
2. Also my phone often "misses" 2nd sim (slot 2). So again I have to reboot phone and reset SIM-related configs. How to treat that?

Sorry for my bad English.
The reason to your problems like rebootings and such is using the SD card as "internal storage"
Do not use it as internal, it is too much buggy.
I can not comment on your 2nd sim problem since I use the device with only 1 sim and it's fine.

I have had occasional problems with the SD card vanishing, even though it is used as "portable storage". I wonder if this could be a related problem?
Rebooting the phone has always corrected the problem.
I also often notice that when I wake the phone from sleep, there is briefly a notification icon looking like a card. Does this mean that the phone unmounts the card during sleep and re-mounts it when it wakes? I'm not familiar enough with android to know whether this is normal, can anyone clarify?
Problem with SD is a least problem.
Disconnections of 2nd sim - that is the problem. I got it 5 times yesterday, and 4 times today. Phone just loses 2nd slot sim. No reboots. No errors.
SIM is absolutely working, because it was in another phone.
Had phone for a few days before rooting and my sim card worked flawlessly. I rooted and a about half and hour - an hour later, all of a sudden my sim card stopped working, as in, the phone didn't detect that there was anything in the sim slot, at all. I tried rebooting and then it worked again for a bit. But then I noticed that it stopped working, again. This time the problem wasn't fixed after rebooting, I tried shutting it down, moving it to the secondary sim card slot, etc ,etc. But the problem managed to fix itself after I shut the phone down completely, removed the sim card, put it in my old phone, put it back into the g30 and start up again. Not sure if taking those specific steps caused my sim card to start working again but as I'm writing this now my sim card is working properly (4G, Volte, etc) but I am pretty sure its going to fail again. I'm not sure if this is because of root or just a coincidence but if it happens again ill unroot and see what happens. Weird glitch. I had Viper4android and magiskhide props config installed. but I doubt that's the purpose because after disabling both of them and restarting my phone still didn't detect a sim card.
Any suggestions??
EDIT: I am now monitoring my device with log cat to see what happens specifically if/when my sim card messes up again.
EDIT 2: been almost 4 days now and haven't had a problem since. Probably just a one time bug in the phone, no issues.
I've pretty much have had root on my G30 since i got and never had any issues with the SIM card. That's an odd issue.
Same here. Getting Magisk in the ramdisk was the second thing I did to this phone and the SIM is fine.
