Check background tasks, and clear cache , dalvik cache in the stock recovery.

I have a couple of questions regarding some options under "Developer Options" in the settings menu. The first questions I have is regarding GPU Rendering. Should we enable it and has anyone noticed any positive/negative effects after enabling it? The next question I have is about the option to limit background processes. I have been limiting the processes to 4 but it seems like every time I go back into this sub menu. it is always back to it's stock setting of "Standard Limit'. Does anyone know how to make it stay on 4?
Force gpu rendering in theory makes ui more responsive and fluid, but if apps are not specifically coded for that, they can look weird with black bars and abnormal colors. I noticed this in few apps and turned it off. I am not sure why ur background process number is not sticking, but honestly u will be more happy if u leave it at default coz with 2 gb ram there is enough memory to run all ur background services and some more.

Dude my background processes keep reverting back to i noticed when i went back in i know it stuck for me on complete stock but i am on free gs3 rom right now and think it might be something conflicting with the modified build.prop tweaks he may have in there. ??? Anyways that switched to limiting 4 background processes and putting window animation and transition animation to 0.5 i noticed a difference . Although i dont really think our phones need this because of the 2gb of ram now maybe the g2x did and as far as gpu rendering u will only notice a difference in some apps that are optimized for this. If not u will notice some artifacts on the screen thats usually your first hint to switch it off because it isnt playing nicely with that particular App. But yes especially in some games u should notice a slight difference. Again if it was the g2x having no hardware accelaration then having it u saw a big difference....our gs3's our such beasts that its minimal to our eyes

There may be background running apps causing this lag. Clear recent apps try.. U can also reboot the device to close unnecessary background running apps...
Yes absolutely right.
Its the only place where m phone lags by switching the tabs.
there are basically 2 places where you can force the phone to either end processes associated with apps when the app is closed or limit running background processes. Have you used either of those options? If so, this is what is likely causing the lag. If not....? So if you used the developer options menu to limit background then go ahead and put it back to default. If you used the other way to limit processes of specific apps then unchecked the couple that have to do with the dialer and let those run free.

Clearing recent app will not solve the problem, android system know how to do it the best way.
I asked if anyone else having this problem because I did some major system customization and I can't remember if this problem was before my changes. I don't have time to debug it.

I know the android memory management. if it needs memory for foreground apps it frees up some memory by killing the background process. The lag is mostly because of the busy processor. sometimes apps like whatsapp and viber who have push notifications work in background as demons. This processes may use up the clock cycles and henceforth contribute to the lag while switching tabs etc. A higher priority process such as games will force the system to give up most of the CPU time to the game app and hence they DO NOT LAG. Sometimes they may lag when u receive a text message in background. This is because the SMS and calls have higher priority. Killing the background apps which may be using up CPU cycles will not only give a lag free operation but also a good battery life. that is why you swipe up the apps from the recent apps tray.
I'm not talking about memory because i know how android handles the memory..
Yup, that LG dialer is one idiotic piece of software that I hate about this phone. The stock ROM otherwise is surprisingly fluid. But dialer................less I say the better. The backspace delay is intolerable.
I dont know if this is issue with completely stock system or not as frankly i never ran this phone stock. I am running V4 stock based ROM. This issue was not there on any CM based ROMs. Specific to stock based rom.
Hello,
I have a kind of problem: after gaming when phone became hot (guess it's a reason) EmotionUI stops to be smooth when you move screens. Nova launcher doesn't have this problem but it doesn't have transparent buttons. Can somebody explains waht is the reason? I understood why games are lagging but why launcher too?
Emotion ui is not supposed to lag or heat. Do factory reset. Also if your still on old rom version like B107, make sure to upgrade.
I'm at 111. But the same will be at 122 beta. Can you say please, the data of all apps from market also will be deleted? And after flashing I never made factory reset, can it influence?
B122 is way better. But even B111 is not suppose to heat on emotion ui. I had that problem when i upgraded to B118. And doing factory reset fixed it.
You can easily backup all Huawei app contents from the Huawei backup app in management folder. But you'd lose other 3rd party downloaded apps and youd have to install again. You can sync your content like chrome browser bookmarks etc so that you can get them when you login to your email account. Game content too if requires login most probably might save progress online. Im not sure. I dont know about the rest.
I made factory reset but in any way emotionui launcher lag some time after playing or just after phone becomes hot.

I was testing solo launcher it is quite OK ,..
I'm guessing that the phone will downgrade it's CPU frequency when it gets hot to help it cool down. After all, it's aware of it's own temperature and the CPU is the main contributor to the heat, so slowing the CPU down a bit makes sense - hence the lagging.
Just a guess....

I also think it can be a reason but I tried to freeze temperaturemonitor.apk (which decrease brightness when phone becomes hot, as I read), and there was no effect.

Of course all cpus are set to enable throttling otherwise they would burn .. if even throtling wont help the mobile will turn off itself .
I've been experiencing this for a while now, not sure if its because I'm rooted and have a few xposed modules installed. Anyhow, I've been having pretty bad lag in terms of responsiveness with typing on the keyboard, as well as scrolling on apps that have UI's dedicated to scrolling like FlipBoard.
On Flipboard, the little animation when you flip through pages looks very laggy and isn't smooth. And I've noticed that the flicking power when scrolling is very weak, meaning I'd have to swipe up a few times just to scroll (apps like twitter is noticeable).
I've done a full factory reset and flashed back to stock with Lgflashtool and I get the same thing. My S3 feels faster than this phone and it disappoints me. It seems that other root users don't really have this problem?
I have lag on Gmail too... When i want to delete an e-mail by sliding...
Could be a couple things. Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/how-to-make-lg-g3-smooth-butter-t2834111
Or more likely, it's the dynamic LCD refresh rate. It can slow down to 30fps (or lower) to save battery life. http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/disabling-low-fps-ui-result-fluid-phone-t2842947

Nah man i tried those, I personally think its just placebo or it isn't really working properly for me
I ended up uninstalling xposed and all my modules and switched to ART runtime and it's helped a little. I still think the fluidness of typing on my keyboard and scrolling is really bad and unresponsive
has anyone tried it yet ? its already out for china rom 12.5.5
how's the battery life? any noticeable change in performance/ overall smoothness?
waiting for mmx personally
its smoother than the previous versions of miui, if someone like miui i can highly recommend it, battery like before

Check Xiaomi updater website if there is a newer version to be installed...
Idk , for me personally I'm only in for the performance mode toggle - if you can see it inside battery settings of security center just enable it and you should be good.

Is performance mode locking screen to 120hz like that battery clear data trick?

Nope , miui is still trash because of that ...
There's literally no fix for that , I'm thinking of modifying the app that's in charge of handling that to remove all the locks on certain apps but I've still no idea how to remove drop to 60hz after not touching screen... If you remove the app you lose fast charging and usability of basically everything on the phone

yeah . that sucks. drops really kill smoothness of the phone. Im using it in 120hz all the time but dont know how long will that clear data thing work. i got used to 120hz+ displays over the years so i can really feel that stutter .
if i loose 1hr sot over it i dont realy care
How to force this update? Change region?
This "enhanced edition" is just a bunch of lies, there's nothing new, the performance is exactly the same, no new features are added, this just generates a "placebo effect" in those who really believes that this really changes anything.
There are plenty of videos on youtube that demostrates this, and I also experienced this by myself.
In 12.5.4/12.5.5, if you had green tint, go to brightness settings and disable the smoothen transitions option. It's enabled by default and fixes the tint issue (for me).
Make sure you change the brightness once.
