I bought my wife a Redmi Note 8T for xmas, and unfortunately it's been an absolute nightmare to operate ever since she received it. It works perfectly after a reboot, but after a few hours or perhaps half a day of use many of the apps on the phone refuse to open, they just display an all white screen or sometimes the logo of the app, but never open fully. You can close them, or press the home button to go back to something else but that app will not open unless you reboot the phone again.
I did multiple factory resets and re-set everything up but the problem always comes back. I ended up returning it to the retailer (I'm in Australia but the retailer was overseas), but they insist they couldn't re-create the problem, and refused to tell me if they were actually using the phone for a few hours before trying the apps...they seemed to be only ever trying it out after a reboot. I won't name the retailer but their customer service is extremely poor and I certainly won't be using them again. In the end I asked them to send the phone back to me, at which point they demanded $70 to return it as "there were no issues found". I paid it, got the phone back and then cancelled the charges on my credit card just to annoy them.
Anyway...I got the phone back a couple of days ago and set it up again from scratch, MIUI 11.0.5, added my wife's google account, installed half a dozen of her apps (FB Messenger, Whatsapp, Bring shopping etc)...she used the phone for about 2 hours then Messenger and Bring refused to open with the same problem. I can only imagine it's some kind of CPU or RAM issue. It's the 4gb/64gb model so it should be very capable of handling such a light load. Model M1308C3XG.
I figured I'd cut my losses so went and bought her the Mi 9 Lite from a local retailer yesterday morning and it's been working perfectly ever since. Cost twice as much as the 8T but at least I'm not copping an earful any more!
So...I have a new 8T that's has nothing to do....figured I might unlock the bootloader and try TWRP, see if it makes any difference. Did the unlock last night but it tells me I gotta wait 168 hours. Sigh. Anyone got any ideas in the meantime feel free to throw them my way.
Hi Bro.
Me also facing this problem. I am using redmi note 8 (Indian verison)4/64GB variant
I faces the the same problem u mentioned above.
Me also reseted the mobile but the problem still occurs.
Also me unlocked the bootloader and installed the original fastboot flash ROM. But still the problem occurs.
I don't know how to solve this problem.
If you got some solutions suggest me....

I never did get it solved mate, but you know what's interesting is that I can't recreate the issue without a SIM inserted in the phone. I transferred the SIM into the new Mi 9 Lite and it's working fine, and I have been playing with the Note 8T without a SIM...the issue hasn't come back. So my guess is this is a fault with the GSM hardware in this model of phone...it might only happen if you're using a certain frequency which is why not everyone has the problem?
Hi, I'm having exactly the same issues, even though I changed ROM. Seems like a hardware issue. Did you manage to fix it?

Hello xda friends,
Got my note 4 Friday and my phone was randomly rebooting. TouchWiz would also lock up and either stop responding or would reboot. I called Samsung support because AT&T reps don't know anything. I was told the issue was hardware and that's it's a known issue. I was instructed to take my phone back for a replacement.
I asked why there has been no formal announcement yet and they said one should be coming soon. So if you're having this problem return your phone as soon as possible.
Hope this helps some of you guys.
My phone hasn't rebooted once since Thursday, but thanks for the info. It should help a lot of people that will still be within their return/exchange window.

My phone had a nasty lockup and reboot shortly after i changed it from dalvik to ART. Switched back and it's been running flawlessly since.
This happened to me a couple of times. I called Samsung and they had no idea and said I was the first to call about it. I don't think it's a big issue and I think it's touch wiz.
Happened on my first phone. Random lock ups and reboots. Got worse on the third day. Then I realized that is actually is a lot worse when playing games. Kingdom Rush Frontiers for example never worked. Kingdom Rush locked the phone very frequently. Listening to spotify for an hour or so caused lockups or reboots. I exchanged it at the AT&T store. The new one has been flawless so far. I highly recommend exhanging it.
This could all be the sign of a hardware fault in the individual unit. These things happen to every phone. There are not any wide spead reports of it being an issue with the note 4. You got a lemon. Either get some sugar and make something of it, or do the exchange (thats what warranties are for.)

Omar or whatever the Samsung tech guy I spoke to said that I wasn't the first person to call and to return the phone. Don't know why he would tell me that :/

Yeah I just got home with my new one. I could tell immediately how much smoother my phone was running compared to the previous one. They did a side by side at the att store and they were like "wtf. That should be faster".

I'm just reporting what I was told. Figured maybe I'm not the only one with an extremely slow phone, lockups, or random reboots on a brand new phone. Things like that should happen. Samsung acknowledged the issues, told me it's a know issue and to return it as soon as I can.
Random reboot, dropped calls, wi-fi freezing...
Same here:
AT&T Note 4 purchased on Oct 18.
Random reboots (a few times a day), dropping calls with "No network available" for about 20 seconds thereafter (a few times a day). Wireless network stops working with no way to reactivate (greyed out control), only a reboot fixes it. "Fixed" that one by disabling "smart network switch". Called AT&T: no info about problems.
Giving it a few more days but will most likely return for an exchange (they don't have them in stock...).

The AT&T note 4's seem to have the most issues ....maybe it's the bloatware
Personally, ive owned every galaxy device that AT&T has offered, and EVERY one of them has had random reboots. I just assume its a samsung issue, for the most part i never notice becuase it doesnt typically happen when im using it. I typically only know when i pick it up and its wanting my password for decrypting my device.
I got a note 4 yesterday as well and everything your phone has mine is doing. I am getting a new one as well.
I have somewhat similar issue on my Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58094575&postcount=1852
my first one had random reboots... my second note 4 didnt' have a random reboot once in 8 weeks I've owned it.
I struggled with random reboots (like 5-10 times a day) of my N910A unit! I bought it from Swappa and I thought that Power Button is broken! That happened to my Galaxy S3 T999 (TMo's) long time ago and I had to replace the motherboard! But just regular cache wiping on my Note 4 from Android recovery fixed the issue, no more random reboots!
My White Note 4 has been randomly rebooting, maybe once every couple days, for the last couple weeks. It gives no indication that it is about to do it (lagging up, freezing ect) it just literally goes black and reboots. It doesn't matter if what I'm doing either btw, has happened while internet browsing, using facebook, checking email and so on.
Anyone else having this issue?
I also noticed that my battery life isn't nearly as good as my wifes white note 4 even though we have the same setting on/off ect.
Do I have a bad unit? If so, will Verizon replace it? How would I go about getting them to replace the phone?
It's starting to get pretty annoying.
Thanks
Call ? up verizon tech support tell them the problems your having they more then likely will run ? some diagnostics and if they cant find the problem they will send you out another device more then likely refurbished just the unit no battery no back door etc ..but ive sent through the same thing with my note 3 and the refurbished unit worked better then my original one its worth a shot

yeah, there may even be some advantage to a refurbished/certified like new device. They actually check these devices individually to assure they function as they should. Granted, the issue you're expereincing wouldn't likely be picked up in their short test.
I have not experienced the issues you mentioned, OP.
So experts,
Currently I am on S7 but I do miss my Note 4.
After Marshmallow update it started lagging, shutting off etc.. all known problems. To fix it I downloaded wake lock app and it worked fine but drained battery a lot.
I tried to flash it through odin etc... (not a technical guy I am, followed instruction from one of the threads on this forum).. took all the files on SD Card and after that phone never turned on.
It does not charge, no LED lights when plugged in, none of the buttons are responsive. I have tried everything like new charger, usb cable, PC, new batteries etc...
1) Do you guys think It's hardware problem?
If No then,
2) Is it possible to fix it and how?
Please note: Phone does not turn on or recognized by PC. If it is just software problem then I am determined to fix it. I may need instruction for even very simple steps.
Thanks in advance to all!
Bump....
Anyone?
Sounds VERY similar to the problems I and others have had with hardware. I sent mine into repair, and for a flat $74 fee, Samsung reported errors with the charging circuit, main board, camera, etc. They replaced darn near everything on that phone, all for $74... Well worth it, in my estimation. Phone still performs better than today's $400 phones... Call samsung and they'll set you up. Had the phone back in under 10 days.

Oh ok. I better do that if it is getting resolved in $74. For some reason I am not able to adjust to Galaxy s7, been on it for 6 months now I guess.
I switched to cricket several months back, and have had relatively few issues until I downloaded an ad blocker. then I started having the freezing rebooting stuttering ect.
I tried to do a factory reset, and It got into a boot loop. Somehow I managed to get it booted properly clearing the cache.
I don't know why But it is almost like I somehow got new features after wiping. With s note, and a popup hitting the home button.
However
the freezing and reboot issues are still occurring. I had none of this till I downloaded the ad blocker.
Its currently on 6.0.1 baseband n910aucs2epk2 kernel 3.10.40-8932341 Build no mmb29m.n910aucs2epk2
can I try reinstalling the update, I haven't had one since switching to cricket. I assume I would have to instal it through sd card.
And When the second poster said to contact samsung for repair. Will they fix it if you aren't the original owner?
And specifically who am I looking to contact within samsung?
thanks

Don't know all the answers but I did contact Samsung. They have walk - in centers, just google it, contact the one which is near to you. You can either ship the phone to them or just walk in. I have not confirmed about the cost of repair yet!

Had word with Samsung repair and they said the max they charge is $199. Anything more than that is beyond economical value so they don't suggest to do it. visitng them this Saturday. Will update.

I visited Samsung walk in center today. In my case they refused to repair it saying that the issue is Motherboard (without even checking, but he seemed vary confident) and the repair cost is more than the price of new phone as of now. I tried to convince him to check at least. Disappointed I am, honestly! but this visit was like final nail in the coffin.
How did you convince them to do it all for just $74?
Call Samsung customer service, they've been great to me.

Samsung did fix it for $70. Phone looks fresh and new now! Great service. Thanks for your suggestion!!
Now I am confused between s7 and note 4. S7 has good features like finger print (very accurate) and samsung pay (brilliant) which is missing from Note4. But I may still switch to Note 4.

Call Samsung customer care instead of visiting the walk in center.
Hi guys,
I bought my Mi 9SE some months ago. Everything was good, but since like two months ago my phone signal dropped to 0. The phone was unable to connect, and it wasn't a problem of APN or SIM because i tried another SIMs and the problem persists. Suddendly, one day the signal started to work again a few hours, and then go off again. Sometimes it works for days, even a week, and then drop to 0 again hours or days. But after that, Wifi started to malfunction too, like it was forcibly disabled. I can't start wifi, and if i try the phone freezes a few seconds.
The weird thing is that those two problems happens like randomly: for example, if i keep the phone on standby for a few hours, wifi start to work again, but if i use it again, it fails again after some use. Same goes to phone signal, some days it works and the suddendly stop functionaning.
I sended to Xiaomi already and they send it back to me because they coulnd't find a problem (Because the problem just happens randomly i suppose).
I don't know what to do, so i'm thinking on unlock bootloader and install a rom. What do you think? I will put here two videos of my phone that shows the problem:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1gY8FqJWV_RwDR2u-KQHYU-pHt2d6yEXa
Thanks.
Hi,
I would suggest to try a different ROM. The wifi issue you have (saw the video) is generally related to wifi drivers. Now i can't say why your driver is malfunctioning without logs, especially for a stock ROM...
Good luck!
@ch4mi: wouldn't do so, because it seems to be a hardware problem and with unlocked BL you open an escape door denying service. Maybe it's caused by an antenna loosing connection by temperature. So switch it off overnight for a definite begin state, boot and look, whether the bug occurs after a certain time. Repeat it 2times. Then send it back to service with this information.
Thanks for your replys people!
I don't know if i can trust with Xiaomi Service. I already sended it like i said, and they said to me that the phone was perfect, and charged me 25€ for shipping costs... I writted to them again saying that the phone was still malfunctionating, but the only said to me that they will proceed like always, check phone and if they don't find any issue, i will pay again 25€ for shipping costs... That's why i'm thinking of change ROM.
@ch4mi: the shipping costs are mean indeed. I hoped they would be willing to repair - then such a clue would have been usefull.
Ok guys, i will send it to the Xiaomi service again, with some videos proving the issues. Thanks for your tips!
I have a 2 year old Redmi Note 8. For these years I have used it with utmost care and so it is in pretty good condition not a single scratch.
Now suddenly from the past few days, my phone restarts on its own. If I open the Camera app, or WhatsApp, or YouTube. But if I use the phone while charging everything works like new.
I have already tried factory reset twice. I have tried charging the phone to 100% but still same issue.
At some forums I found that this restart problem resolves after factory reset, some people replaced the volume/power button but I think it is a battery issue.
If any one of you is facing the same issue or want to share any advice, please do comment. Any other checks you want me to perform.

if factory reset did not fix it then it should be hardware issue, mostly battery (since it works while charging)
The service center needs the original bill or bill printout if I have ordered online. Since it is been a long time I forgot how did I order? I couldn't find anything on my amazon, Flipkart, MI account, no email regarding this purchase on my email.
How can I get the bill for this phone purchase? I have the IMEI number.
