Hi have recently purchased my galaxy s , it was freezing etc so i decided to do a factory reset , However prior to reset , I had 2 samsung apps which i used and now missing these were ,
1-samsung im Instant Messenger
2-samsung email and not he default icon showing email.
This link will show you the icons and also confirm that i am talking real. the link
is youtube.com/watch?v=Uk84hFv5MxM
The samsung email app allows you to add email account such as hotmail and yahoo and then syncs in real time not the default 5min etc and so on this is real time push . I am surprised no one has talked about this particular app as so many people want real time push email by default .
I have contacted samung support which were appalling as usual stating i should return the device and they didnt even know what i was talking about.
Anyhow i have flashed the device with several firmwares and i cant seem to find these two apps and i really want them particualary the samsung email client ,
Can someone advise if they have these two apps and which firmware they are using or which firmware i will need, i have checked samsung website for manual downloads but with no luck.
I also recieved a link with samsung apps which did not have the 2 i need, im wondering if samsung have removed them or they were intially intended for the asian market but how can that be as the presentation by samsung boasted about the galaxy s (Socail Hub ) which these two are part of so were are they.
I am using this device in the uk and I will appreciate your help in this matter
Thanks

I have never logged into my Samsung account. Everything works just fine on my phone.
I have just upgraded my note 2 to android 4.3, and Kies 3. I am not able to sync since this upgrade, and I get a message ( make outlook your default email client) It already is!. Has anyone got their Note 2 sync working with this setup, or is it just not possible anymore?
All replies would be most welcome.

Kies was working perfectly up to the upgrade to version 3, I am sure their must be other people in a similar situation. If there really is no chance of getting it working again then I will look for an alternative or just change my phone which may be the best solution.
Changing a phone over such a small issue , anyway samsung doesn't make great software and your kies maybe bugged so try reinstaling it or going tru troubleshooting in the app.

Seems to be a known problem. See this thread
Samsung Galaxy S 4 i9500, i9505, i9505G, i9506 > Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [Q] Galaxy S4 + Android 4.3 + Kies 3 - No Outlook Sync

I have this issue with my UK O2 stock GT-N7100 as I use Outlook app to manage hotmail spam folder and it no longer refreshes. Only change was update to 4.3.
I just bought a new laptop and did not buy a Samsung because of this sort of poor support.
Cheers
Tom
P.S. I switched to Aquamail using IMAP and deleted Outlook app.

There have been some upgrades to Kies 3, and now it works perfectly, if you have not tried, do it now.
Hi, been asked if I can recover the contacts from a friends Galaxy a3 (a300fu) but the screen and touch panel are damaged.
The display is black and you can hear the phone detecting phantom screen presses.
My windows laptop detects it as a media player so I suspect it is "alive"
I have tried some software but it needs USB debugging enabled and as I cant see/touch I cant get into the menu to enable developer mode.
His contacts are stored on the phone and he doesn't use google back up.
Is there any way I can recover his contacts?
Thanks..

If your friend has a galaxy account contacts should be restored upon setting up a new phone. So, if the new phone is a galaxy, then contacts can be restored after signing into Galaxy account. Apart from that, I'm really not sure.
Is there any chance contacts are saved to SIM? You could swap the SIM into another phone, then export them somehow

Try google contacts. I hadn't backed my contacts and I installed google contacts and all contacts from my wrecked phone appeared.

Problem syncing contacts
I’m having a heck of a problem trying to get my new Galaxy Watch (46 mm/non-LTE) to properly sync my contacts. I first realized that I had a problem when I tried to use Bixby to place a call from the watch. Sometimes I woul get the message “contacts syncing” . Sometimes I would get the message that the contact was not found.
I tried resetting the watch and the Samsung Wear app but that didn’t work. I read that turning off Bluetooth and trying to sync over Wi-Fi helped. However, I cannot tell if that is really helping. Some contacts do work while others (most) do not.
It would help to understand from what source the watch gets the contacts. For example does the watch attempt to sync with my Samsung account? Does it attempt to sync with the contacts that reside in the phone memory?
On my phone, I have the contact app set up such that it only displays my Google contacts and I use my Google account as the storage location. I wonder whether that is the problem and if I should somehow either save everything to my Samsung account or save everything physically to the phone.
Naturally, Samsung customer support was worse than useless. The first person I spoke to had me do the hard reset and when that did not work told me to take the watch to a local Service Center. I tried speaking to another support representative today. This one insisted that the Watch would not dial contact numbers from Bixby because it was not LTE.
Any insights?
Hi! It may seem stupid, but give it a try if you haven't already.
In the Galaxy wearable app, go to the tab 'settings' and then 'Applications'. Scroll down till you find the contacts and then check in the settings from where the contacts are synced. The default should be from the phone, so try changing to your google account.
If you already did this, then I don't know for now.
I have purchased the Pro version but I'm still not able to place a phone call (the app says something like "I can't make calls yet", same as the non-paid version. Tried to uninstall and reinstall but it didn't work.
