Contacts recovery possible? - Samsung Galaxy A3, A5, A7 (2017) Questions & Answe

Hi, been asked if I can recover the contacts from a friends Galaxy a3 (a300fu) but the screen and touch panel are damaged.
The display is black and you can hear the phone detecting phantom screen presses.
My windows laptop detects it as a media player so I suspect it is "alive"
I have tried some software but it needs USB debugging enabled and as I cant see/touch I cant get into the menu to enable developer mode.
His contacts are stored on the phone and he doesn't use google back up.
Is there any way I can recover his contacts?
Thanks..
Cornz.

If your friend has a galaxy account contacts should be restored upon setting up a new phone. So, if the new phone is a galaxy, then contacts can be restored after signing into Galaxy account. Apart from that, I'm really not sure.
Is there any chance contacts are saved to SIM? You could swap the SIM into another phone, then export them somehow

Try google contacts. I hadn't backed my contacts and I installed google contacts and all contacts from my wrecked phone appeared.

You can't use the kb to touch the yes button?
Do you use GMail/Google sync? I'm guessing no. Might not be worth setting up now.
I would do my best to get an app like PIMBackup installed.
If you had used Google to sync your contacts, you could just sync your new phone with Google and voila... I know, little late.
Have you seen MyMobiler? You can control the phone with an ActiveSync connection.
If you sync your contacts using outlook they should just go over to the new phone when you plug it in. As for touching the yes button im afraid your a bit out of luck with that as the only way to do it is to install pocket controller. Saying that though, It has been a while since i actually installed it,but i am sure the latest version auto installs so you wont need to press any keys on the phone. That will allow you to control the phone from your pc. The easiest way to transfer the contacts though is to simply sync them to outlook.
So i dont understand why you cant do it?

[Q] HTC Wildfire S - broken screen, need to import contacts and messages.

Hello everyone,
Before I start describing my problem I want to say that I did look over many threads and forums looking for a solution and I'm writing this as my last effort.
I have an htc wildfire S which is, well, broken since yesterday. I dropped it on the floor and the touch screen broke and is not responding although the phone does turn on. I got a new phone, also an android and I'm trying to transfer my contacts and messages from the old one to the new because, stupidly, I didn't back them up (yes, I know...).
The broken phone has enabled USB debugging although it is in "charge only" mode. It has also never been rooted.
I tried pulling contact2.db to sd card through adb command line but that didn't work since it returned "access denied." I also tried MyMobiler but I couldn't connect it to the phone.
Is there any way I can get these contacts and messages back?
Regards,
Jakub.

I am having the same issue did you got the solution how to backup the message.
Your contacts should be backed up to the google account you had, assuming you had it set up like that (its default)

check your google contact...
Check your google contacts: https://accounts.google.com/
Or else, just for it to get repaired

Try Backuptrans Android SMS + MMS Transfer. It lets you backup messages from android to computer even with a broken screen.

[Q] Help!

Hi,
I fixing my girlfriends LCD on her One X. Long story short we report lost and got a new one from att.
I have to remove the contacts from her old phone and place them on her gmail account but she didn't enable usb debugging.
Plus shes four hours away...
How do I connect the phone to the computer without being able to see the screen and fix the security settings?
let me see if i'm reading this correctly...
your girlfriend's screen is broken and you managed to blag a new phone out of it and now you want to transfer her gmail contacts to the new phone..?
if so, then all she has to do is log in to her google account on the new phone and it will automatically transfer (sync) all her contacts..
(btw.. usb debugging has nothing to do with the security of the phone)

I think you can take it to a T Mobile store and they'll just do everything for you.
I'm a do it yourselfer too whenever possible, but if someone will just plug it in and take care of it for you in 5 minutes that might be the simplest option here.
Unfortunately you're out of luck. Your phone won't display the contents of the internal SD card unless you unlock the phone which requires a working screen. If recovered info off someone's phone with a broken screen by connecting a working screen to it temporarily to unlock it.
This requires taking your phone apart but is very easy if you're comfortable.

You might be able to use Heimdall on a Mac or Linux machine to pull the data. Im not entirely sure how or what you would do with it once you pulled it. But that might give you a start for your research
Sent from your phone. You should be more careful where you leave that thing.
