Hello, I bought a fire tv 4k that ended up being blacklisted by amazon. Is there any way I can get it to work?

How does a device get blacklisted ? Is it from rooting?
If you order it from amazon and it does not arrive and you make a complain about it, amazon will blacklist the device.
If it arrives and you cancel the re-shipped one, the first one can still be blacklisted. In this case you need to contact support and explain them the situation. When you order it from amazon they register the serial number to your profile. If you have a different serial number in you amazon profile than your actual stick, that is the sign of the administrative problem, maybe the re-shipped (and cancelled) one is assigned to you. This happened with one of my friends in few weeks ago. Support corrected the serial number and it started working.

Is it a 3g model? Provisioning is related to a data plan I believe so if he has not purchased a plan the I would imagine he would get a provisioning failure.
Not a 3G, amazon said it was their fault
No it's not a 3G unit.
Since the kindle fire HD was still under warranty he called customer service at amazon. They told him
it was their fault. They said they had a firmware update that caused this problem on certain units.
amazon is sending him a new kindle fire HD. They only thing is the warranty was not extended which sucks.
No way of knowing if the new one is junk or not. He spoke with a higher level manager and he got a new
1 year warranty which should have been the case from the beginning.
Can you imagine getting a replacement with only a couple weeks left in warranty and it craps out.

Well sounds like he got lucky. Maybe that was the reason they pulled the 8.4.1 update but that is what mine is on and I have not experienced this issue. The upside is systems are fairly easy to replace.
Will it work in Canada. When I was in the states last year I signed up for Netflix. Lots of choices until I came home most of it was blocked in canada. Am I going to run into the same thing with the amazon fire tv
You will. However, a good DNS-based unblocking service (unlocator, unblockus, etc.) works quite well and is easy to set up with the Fire TV -- that's what I'm doing now, also in Canada, and am having no problems.

This..
Starts from as low as $2/m (ad-free time)
bought a second ZF2 from amazon. tracking shows it arrived 9/4 but i dont have it and had to have amazon open an investigation.....thats great but i have to wait for that before i get my new phone. So being i spent $300 on this new item and i dont have it, i am pissed and want to know if it would be possible to track the imei since Asus labels them on the box and i am sure amazon scans that barcode label. Couldnt they track the imei even if the phone is not activated? or would it have to be activated before the imei can be tracked?
i dont know how imei works with an inactive or active unlocked phone. Wouldnt the owner of the phone have to report the imei as stolen? but how would that work on a phone that didnt have a carrier?
Anyone know about this stuff? thanks in advance!
sidenote - i am sure amazon will send me a new phone once i call them in the morning. I did chat for the claim..... but it pisses me off to think someone might have stolen this from my front door. I would kind if like to find it.

Depending what country but here in Oz if you supply the police with an imei number of a phone that was stolen it can be blacklisted. That means no carrier here in Australia will allow that phone to be used however if it gets shipped outside Australia there is no problem using the phone...
Sometimes you see these phones for sale on ebay with a title saying "For sale overseas only"...
i am in the US. i know imei can be blacklisted with a carrier, but this is an unopened brand new unlocked phone. No sim, no carrier. plus i am more interested in trying to see if i or amazon can track this phone to find out where it is.

Was it sold directly by amazon or an amazon seller? if it was by an amazon seller he "might" have a database containing IMEI's of the phones he sell's, if it was amazon then your out of luck they do not keep records of IMEI of any kind, just explain the issue to amazon im sure they will gladly replace the device.

From Amazon.....not a 3rd party i would be surprised Amazon wont record a serial # or imei # especially since the label is on the outside of the box with a simple barcode label.

I called and they were very good about it. I get the impression this happens a lot. I don't know why they used usps. They make tons of mistakes.
I asked Amazon for the serial number and imei so I can file a police report. Sadly they emailed me the asin number instead. I can not believe they don't keep serial or imei for there products.
Is there a way to get this info from Amazon or even Asus? Police won't take a report with out that info
Is Mayday a AT&T only feature?
No, it's directly from Amazon, they introduced on their tablets (Kindle Fire HDX, Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, Fire HDX 8.9) first.
It will not work on both of my fire phones . I have Straight Talk using AT&T, So I figured that was why it wouldnt work.

Amazon says: "the device needs to be registered to an Amazon account and have an active, strong Wi-Fi connection to use Mayday"... but maybe the new company policy is to cut the connection when it's coming from a Fire Phone.
Both have very good wifi and both are registered to a amazon prime accounts. I couldnt even do it before the stopped selling them.
When I contacted amazon they said it was stolen, I bought it off FBM, the other person stopped responding to me, how can I bypass it?

There's no bypassing an Amazon blacklisting unless the device is rooted. But even then you will not be able to register it with Amazon servers to use the Amazon app store or any Amazon services. You would have to sideload everything.
Depending on which Stick model it is, and what firmware version it's on, you might be able to use one of the rooting methods on XDA.
