Device Care Battery Stats question - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

I am on the beta Android 10, Unlocked Galaxy Note 10 plus. When I go into device Care and look at the battery stats I don't see anywhere that it shows how long you have been off the charger. Previous versions did. It's not that big of deal but I always like to see battery % compared to how long I have been off charging. Maybe it's somewhere I'm not looking. Any one noticed the same thing? Thanks

I'm not on the beta but it seems they keep removing features. Remember when you used to see how mAh an app used? They removed that. Now you can't find time on battery?
So when you go to Settings» device care» battery» battery usage....what shows up? Screen shot?

Oh man… I just dont like it, as stated above, why does samsung improves some things, but degrades or eliminate others? I am starting to think that I will stay on Pie…

I took it of before that. That's just the start of the new day. There is no where it shows how long it's been off the charger.

Should I try to get a replacement EVO?

I just got an Evo last week and I have been loving it aside from the battery issues. I just noticed that this evo only support 3 point multitouch and some users had claimed that 5 point multitouch works for them.
Should I call Best Buy or Sprint and ask for one that support 5 point multitouch?
Is that even worth it?
Please advise.
A note on multitouch:
Some of you may have used my 5point multitouch test builds with success, others with failure. Research has shown that the Evo's contain at least 2 different versions of the touch sensor, one of which does not support 5point multitouch (but it DOES support 3point). You can check which sensor you have using adb by issuing the following command: "adb shell cat /sys/android_touch/vendor" and examining the result. If your result is ATMEL_x0080_x0016, your phone can support 5point. If your result is ATMEL_x004F_x0016, your phone will only support up to 3point.

I verified that shell shows ATMEL_X004F
Oh yeah, DEFINITELY take it back. I don't know what I would do without those 2 extra points.

sad part is i can't tell if your being a smart ass of dead serious lol
I doubt you can return it as it doesnt effect performance unless there is such an app that supports 5 point touch. BTW this is due to the new batch of EVO's coming with the new screens, different connectors etc.

Nah, you're fine. My old Evo had 5 point, my replacement that I just got has 3. There is no real world difference, no apps besides multipoint visualizer even make use of 3, and that's just a test program. Keep your Evo, and cherish and protect it with your life.

Runs great, but having some strange battery issues. Running the latest flipz rom and kings cfs #11 and the battery drops 20% within 10 minutes with hardly any use.
I performed a full reboot and didn't launch any apps and it did the same thing. I just Flashed netarchy-toastmod-4.1.9.1-cfs-havs-universal-signed so hopefully I get different results.
20% in the first 10 minutes is a little unusual, most people's Evo's tend to drop 10%. It has something to do with the way the phone charges the battery, once it gets up to 100% it stops charging altogether (no trickle) and doesn't start charging again till the battery drops down till about 90% (I believe). If you unplug your phone at 100%, turn it off and plug it back in until the light turns green and then turn it back on, you should get a full charge out of it. Also, your phone is new, so I'm sure it hasn't profiled the battery fully yet, which is probably where that extra 10% is coming from. Give it a few days and I'm sure you'll see it level out.

If you are running a stock kernel then you will only have 2 points. You need to flash a custom kernel in order to have 3 or 5. Honestly though, there is no use for any more than 2 touchpoints.

i am running the cm6 kernal.
I dunno, I'm not on cm6 so I don't know what that kernel supports. Seriously though, have you come into any situation that required you to have more than 2? Didn't think so.
To everyone: Stop worrying about touchpoints, benchmarks, etc... and just enjoy your phones.

i love my Gnex but......

if the battery life doesnt get better im selling this crap. i love this everything about the phone but the battery life. its just plain crap. can you guess please help try and figure out the problem. i have flashed every kernel and rom and always bad battery life.thanks
Looks like user error to me. There are a lot of times that your phone is awake and the screen isn't even on. Your apps are what is killing your battery life.

most people get between 4-5 hrs of screen ON time, this has nothing to do with ur gnex, it's related to an app u have, try to locate it and uninstall, or mail the developer about the issues u're getting with it.
you have bad signal and your apps are keeping the phone awake.
You can't seriously blame the phone for what is user error.
Your apps are what's causing the massive drain and unless you do away with the apps causing this drain, your battery life will always seem crap. I suggest you uninstall KTREweather and find a weather app/widget that's more reliable.
I take it it's this app you're using? https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5rdHJlLmFuZHJvaWQud2VhdGhlciJd
Judging by its features, I'm not suprised it kills your battery. Live radar and storm tracking? Who needs that?
You have serious drain from awake apps, and looks like you're doing a lot of streaming radio/music? And your signal is absolutely terrible. All of these together will absolutely drain your battery.
use this free app called diagnosis to figure out which apps or processes are causing you trouble https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.thedarken.diagnosis&hl=en

generally, i dont let anything run on my phone that i dont want it to run. if you have root, there is a good app called autostarts that lets pick what app you want to start up when the phone boots. only when you actually open that app itll start up https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.elsdoerfer.android.autostarts&hl=en

Tbh I let Android do all of the app management. I also only install apps that I'm going to use as well as keeping them running to a minimum in the background.
If you don't like the battery life buy a bigger battery.

Really? Do I need to find one of the few battery life screenshots I have to prove you wrong? 4-5hrs on stock battery, 6 on extended.
Why do people keep saying this ****? Get apps that don't eat your battery. Until then, don't try to claim someone else is wrong.

New battery for Galaxy Nexus i9250

Hi,
Recently my battery stopped charging beyond the 89% mark and now people say that I need to get a new battery. I'm thinking if I should I may go for a long lasting one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-Ori...ccessories&hash=item2a22467775#ht_2796wt_1397
But I've heard that as the NFC key is encrypted in the battery people have had issues where the NFC stopped working or such. What should I check for to guarantee that it wouldn't be the case with this one?
Thanks in advance for your help.
P.S.: Still for the time being if someone can help with the 89% charge issue, that'd be great.

The battery only contains an antenna for NFC. The actual NFC chip is in the phone itself.
Oh ok! Thanks for the correction guys.
Does this mean that I can safely go with any battery out there? Or the one that I linked?

The one you linked to appears to be a Samsung battery. It will support NFC. If you buy a battery without an NFC antenna, it will still power your phone but NFC won't work.
If you are on Sprint you can call telesales and they will send you the extended battery and door for free just pay for shipping. The extended batt is a 2100Mah instead of the 1850Mah original.

I plan on buying the Samsung 2000mAh battery myself as soon as my current one becomes insufficient.
Well the current one that I have started dying on me twice a day without any drastic changes to my usage. So I think it was a faulty one anyway before this issue started.
Will see how the 2000mAh one fares for my heavy use.

One way to find out- try a different kernel. If that doesn't work, try a factory reset. If that doesn't work, try a different rom. If it still does the same thing, it's time for a new phone.

Tried a different ROM and the stock kernel. Doesn't help. The charging still stops at 89% or whatever random number it wants to. I really don't want to send this back, I just hope there was a way to fix it.
But I think the way back is the only way. Will talk to my carrier then.

Same problem here...
After upgrading to 4.2.1, battery stoped charging to 100%
Now charges to 64%, and if I remove it goes down to 4% then increase around 30%
Not sure if the problem is with the battery.
Tried eveything else aound: Kernels, Stock Brazilian ROM (all versions), Stock Google Images, MIUI, CM9, CM10 and CM10.1
Really sad about that.

I have the exact same problem after just 2 months of using this device. The problem first happened when i upgraded to the 4.2.1 takju JOPD firmware! The phone almost goes dead in 6hrs with minimal talk time, and a charge stops at 84%!
Unfortunately, I got this device while in the US from playstore, and now I am back in India. Not even sure of the warranty coz I have rooted this device.
Can anyone please advice?
I'm not sure if this could help, but have you tried draining your battery first (until it powers off) and then charging it to full without turning it on? I've read somewhere (don't remember where but I think it was here on xda) that the battery statistics become more inaccurate over time if you don't drain it to zero at times. I think it's called power cycling which is a good practice to have longer battery lifespan. I hope this helps

Actually, it shortens the battery lifespan exponentially. Full discharge of a lithium-ion battery is unhealthy. Likewise, complete power cycles shorten the battery's serviceable life.
If you suspect the battery's internal fuel gauge to be inaccurate, you could do this once in a blue moon, bearing in mind the unintended consequences.

Crazy battery life loss?

This morning I unplugged my phone and battery percentage was at 100% but about 30 minutes later it dropped all the way down to 71%.. I close my recent apps constantly. The battery was normal the rest of the day (drained pretty quickly but not as quick as the morning). Any reason why this happens? This is the first time it happened. I usually get about 12 hours on a full charge.

it has its place. especially when we're talking about a completely random issue, like right now, not an ongoing problem that the user frequently experiences.
gotta start with the basics, then move on up to the paid apps

[Q] Why does my battery skip percentages?

I've had this tablet for more than a week now and for some reason the battery always skips percentages in the same spots like from 83 to 81 or 80-77 and it happens randomly after that. I get decent battery life but I just wanna know why this happens or if there's a fix for this..?
My question to you is how you even noticed this... Do you sit and watch the battery go down?
lol use battery doctor let it trickle charge the battery and then monitor it.. should fix the issue.

I'm pretty sure there are issues with correct battery information being shown with the Nexus 7. Regardless, I don't think it's anything to worry about it.
