hi
Did somebody have problem like that : during when gps is working I can't charge my touch pro2 , its going to around 70% battery and then flashing alternately green and orange notification LED and battery heat up (is really hot) . Next problem is that GPS sometimes doesn't want start (it show very low sat signal ) . Last time it started after I did ... 200 miles !!! External GPS (via bluetooth) works every time ... . Maybe my pro2 is broken ?
any ideas ?

well, last resort .. do a hard reset and reinstall your gps software. If still getting the same problem, return it for a new one, cos it should charge while the gps is running; Cos I have done it from a long roadtrip during my vegas grandcanyon trip...with more than 200miles :>

Outside car was 17-18 C inside similar (open windows) .When GPS is off it charge normally . when it heat up it even stink as my old burned desktop computer ...
so that's definitely not my case..
i think your unit is faulty...
the stink would make me worry....
i'd ask for a replacement of the unit
I had the same problems.
So I bought the original Car Charger from HTC, the HTC CC C100.
That works like a charm.
The original charger deliveres 1Amp, most 3th party chargers don't.
And your HTC won't get so hot anymore, somehow more amps makes your HTC work less hard to charge??

When this problem appeared I was thinking about it .But I've got original charger as well , though different model . it's CLA 05D-050 and it delivers 1A .I used it with HTC Touch HD and was fine ....
I've got the same problem, sometimes the TP2 gets really hot and sometimes not (and then stops charging), first I thought it depends on surrounding temperature, but I'm not sure.
@agaryt: If it's an original HTC charger, it must be your TP2?
I'm not sure yet but probably I solved problem . I uninstalled 2 programs :
Spike's_ MicNeo_TaskBar_Touch2_Varient_3_v2.cab and TP2-Batt.cab witch was 1% increment battery driver .... I did it yesterday and I used TP2 almost 9 hours with charger today with no problem at all .GPS showed me better signal as well . It is hard to believe that TP2-Batt.cab is responsible for this problem that why I will keep test for next 2 days during my trips (in lorry).
So, if will be fine I've got resolution if not I will send it back to HTC .

the 1% mod is a replacement for the battery driver, and it is possible it is the culprit..
anyway i have it installed, and i don't have problem charging...anyway i did not tryed to charge and using gps toghether..

I do not have installed one of your programs, and have the charging problem.
While using navigation SW (with gps) and charging in the car, sometimes the TP2 gets hot and stops charging...
Similar problems happened over the years with various pocketpc devices. Seems that GPS consumes more than 500mA, so you need a 1A charger to charge it properly.
There are also some 2A "fast" chargers available, but I dont feel really comfortable sending 2A to my precious pocketpc.
Also if you drive in extremely hot conditions with direct sunlight hitting the device, you might want to consider creating a cardboard "hat" for your device.

You don't send 2A to your precious device, the adapter is capable to deliver 2A.
The device you charge will ask for the amps.
today problem came back . But LED showed me overheating twice (it last 5-10 minutes everytime ) and then back to charge . after that it back to normal charge and battery is full now . I couldn't complain of it but during overheated GPS gets low satellites signal and very often lose it ...
Hi
I have a RedMi 1S running V45 (Indian Version). I am using this mobile since last 1 month. I am facing a strage issue with the phone.
Whenever the battery drains completely and the phone get switched off, it is taking forever to switch on the phone even after charging. I atleast need to charge it for 1 or 2 hours to see something on the screen. Its like the phone is completely dead.
I tried taking of the battery and inserted it and then charged. At this stage only thing I notice is the status LED glows in RED for a couple of seconds and like dead. After one or 2 hours, I see that LED starts blinking in RED. After this I need to wait for another 30 min or 1 hour to be able to switch on the phone. It is like the phone is taking almost 2 hours to get the initial charge to switch on the phone.
Is anyone facing same kind of issue?
Thanks
No mine is fine..
It only takes about 10-15s normally to gain initial charge to boot up !
Maybe some issue with charging?
No such issue faced yet. Once mine got fully discharged , but started in few seconds of charging.
Issue with the Charger
Hi
Looks like issue/compatibility with the Charger. I was using Samsung 2.5A charger which I bought for old mobile. Today, I tested with the original MI charger and the phone immediately showing the charging status. The MI original charger is 2A one. But still I think it has some compatibility issue with other chargers.
Thanks for your replies.
Dont!!!
@mail2eswar Please Dont use any other charger except xiaomi charger!! Its Snapdragon 400 8228 and it actually supports Qualcomm Quick charge 2.0 but its not working (donno bcaz of kernel or its locked) So if u use any other charger u'll end up in SoC failures :silly: and leads Motherboard replacement!!!! :cyclops:

Don't ever use another's phone as your Charger. Different V and A are the main cause of your issue.

Did you get any solution for this issue I'm facing the same the same problem. I'm unable to restart my redmi 1s
Eaxct same problem on my Redmi 1S
Exactly the same issue with mu Redmi 1S. Initially everything was fine. Then one day I lost my original Charger (1 Amp) , and I started looking for a replacement charger. I got one 2 Amp Fast charger from a local store and initially everything was fine and the Phone used to charge fine but then it wont hold the charge for too long. So I started using my Redmi Note4 charger which again is a 2 Amp charger.
But as I see is that if my phone is once drained fully, it is not easy to start back. 2 Amp charger connected for 3 hours straight did'nt help, apart from the intermittent flicker of the LED once a while. No battery charging animation on the screen.
Then I took 1.2 Amp Nexus Charger and behold the full screen battery charging animation pops up immediately. I could start my phone while charging.
My inference is that get an original Xiaomi Redmi 1S (1 Amp) charger if you can. Or else suffer like me
i have the same problem . did you fix it
exactly same problem here. Difference is that I'm using Redmi 1s for more than 3 yrs and suddenly out of nowhere these happened ( after battery discharged its not starting and a red led is blinking, even removing battery and connecting to the charger didn't work). Someone mentioned here not to use different charger, probably they r right bcz I used samsung charger while this happened. Went to Mi Authorized Servicing Centre they told Motherboard is damaged and will cost Rs. 4800/-. No way man! my Mi was of 5999/- not gonna fix it with 4800/-. I'll rather go for a new one.
can i solve this problem by changing another os
Yes You are right. Today after complete battery drain, I have connected phone to another charger that time LED on mobile start blinking so I assume that it started charging while it was not. After another one hr I tried to switched on but it was not switching on so I was worried and I started searching solution, Strangly when I connected Orignal Charger , it immediately shows battery symbol which was showing 0% charge. Thanks to this thread which help me to find solution.
Hey guys,
first of - sorry if this is oftopic.
I notice heavy charging issues on my g4 intl. The phone just won't charge probably.
I'm running on the latest cyanogenmod nightly, everything else works fine.
Cyanogen says "slow charging" even when I plug in the original cable, or a quick charge wallplug. With all micro USB cables everything is fine for a week or two, but after that everything repeats again.
It seems like the phone cuts down the input power to 300 milli amps or so, while "charging" the battery percentage is going down sometimes, too.
When the phone is off and plugged in, the charging is slow too.
But sometimes everything is fine for a charge or two.
Does anyone have the same issue or have a solution?
Greetings from germany
Okay I found some guys talking about this here, but is there any final solution for this?

It happens to me too, stock ROM, cm13, aosp, no difference.
I have tried changing USB cable (only cable) and device begin charging normally again.
I don't think it's something software related..
But if you have already tried with another charger and problem is still there..
I'm really frustrated. I don't know what is happening to my g4, since 2 month's I noticed heavy red screen ghosting, too. The phone was already repaired once from lg, there the problem was that it won't boot up anymore.. Next time I won't buy lg..

I got problems with display too..
Both lateral sides are brighter than the rest of the screen.
Especially with dark images it is absolutely horrible.
Will never ever buy LG anymore.
same problem here with the ghosting and the super slow charge some times battery goes down even while plugged to original charger, had a G2 before this, love the phone was almost flawless, this one I had it for almost a year now, piece of **** full of problems, now after the lates OTA the unlocking is retardedly slow, I double tap for unlocking the screen wakes up but dimmed and unresponsive and after a second it fully wakes up, I'm so frustrated with this piece of ****, the only good thing is the camera. Btw regarding the slow charging problem, I tried with different batteries and chargers and same results (I'm fully stock, no root no nothing)

Hi guys,
My A5 2017 charges very slow. It happens both in normal charging as well as fast charging mode. Up to 80% charging is OK (within 90-100 minutes), however after 80, it gets stuck at sometimes at 85, sometimes 85 and most of the time at 90%. In fast charging mode, it takes another 90 minutes to charge from 90-100% (that means 90 minutes for 10%) . That means there is no advantage of having fast charging mode in our devices, as it takes 3 hours to charge the device. Earlier it didn't happen, but now it happens again and again. I tried following steps, but all in vain:
1. Changed charging adapter as well cable (brand new) from service center.
2. Tried to charge in different sockets.
4. Tried to charge the device in switched off mode.
3. Reset the whole device 2-3 times.
4. Also, while charging the phone, device temperate is OK, no heating issues.
Is it only me ?
How to overcome this problem?
You can always try factory reset.

I really hope you found a solution. Ive been looking an answer for this annoying problem for 6 months!
Ive read almost 50 threads in differents forums about this problem but no solution at all.
- Tried changing charging port. Cost me a few dollars but no solution.
- Tried USB debugging on and off from developers menu.
- Did MTP+ADB option in *#*#0808#* menu.
- Turned Low Battery Dump "on" in *#*#0808#* menu.
- Tried 10 or more different original Samsung cables.
- Upgraded PC USB drivers.
None of them worked for me.
Hope you have made a progress.
Try battery calibration tool from play store.
Charging after 80% is always slower because of Li-Ion batteries that have a short life if you keep them around 100% all the time.

Sorry for bumping the thread. But I have the same problem now, I do understand that the phone is already 3 y.o. but if it has fast charging, it should charge fast, right? Lately, it started to work slower, Idk what to do with it. I like it very much and I don't want to buy a new one
Until 3 days back, the Asus 5z (Non-rooted) was charging fast with Original Asus quick charger. But then it got FOTA update to ww_ZS620KL_90.10.138.181_20190202
(build number: PPR1.180610.009.WW_user_90.10.138.181_20190202)
(Baseband ver: M3.15.35.23-Draco_000621)
After the update, there is a weird behavior seen while charging. After charger is switched on, charging go upto 1580ma (measured using "Ampere" app) and then gradually, the charging gets reduced to 680ma-720ma within next 4-5 seconds and then the phone charges constantly at this speed. If i switch-off the charger and then again switch it on, then again the charging go upto 1580ma, then to 700ma. Now it takes 150min-180min to fully charge the phone. Earlier it was just 100min at ~2500ma speeds.
Its like there is some kind of capping enabled via this FOTA update, which is not allowing fast charging. As soon as the phone detects fast charging, it reduces it to normal speeds, due to some unknown reason.
Charger is not faulty, i have checked it using Original Asus charger, Tronsmart QC3.0 , Poco F1 original QC3.0 charger, Motorola original QC2.0 charger. All yields the same result, It goes upto 1580ma and then reduced to ~700ma.
Things i've tried:
Enable/disable AI charging
Rebooting
Different chargers/Different electrical sockets
Discharging completely and then charging
Things i've NOT tried yet:
Battery calibration (don't know if it will actually works)
Factory reset (have a lot of data to backup before doing so)
Do you think the issue is related to January security patch? My phone is not rooted.
Please Help.
Mines still fast charges but I notice it stops fast charging at 70% instead of 80 with ai charging on

No Bro, no reply from ASUS forum too. Since many of us are experiencing this issue, i hope ASUS may resolve this in their security update.
Same issue post FOTA update
same issue, powe off phone before charge and power on during charge let the phone charge at fast charging speed but this is very inconvenient
I also facing same issue but when I reverse the type C cable sometimes it charges fast.
May Asus solv it
Many people are facing the same and have reported it in Zentalk forums.
I request you all to report it too so that it comes in the notice of asus devs and they fix it asap.
Link below.

I believe this is due to loose connection or lose contact in wall socket. I have seen, if you remove the wall socket and then reattach again, it charges fast.
Maybe it detected some sparks/surges in USB output and kept going to safe mode.

no that's not the case. Many people has reported it already.
Hi All,
I too facing the same problem and complained in ASUS twitter site and they told to go to the Service Center. If i restart the phone before charging then my phone is charging fast.
I too have this problem. I use this workaround.
Connect the charger to the phone and let the current reading come down in the ampere app. After that, keeping the charger connected, restart the phone. You'll see that now your phone is fast charging. The current goes up to 2500 ma now.

issue fixed with the 92 mb update i got last night
For me the 90mb update reversed the charging speed. The update prior to this update fixed fast charging for me, but after this 90mb update the phone stops fast charging at 70%. I measured the time it takes to go from 6% to 100% (with AI charging ON), it took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. So it doesn't bother me that much as it's still plenty fast for me. I hope Asus fixes the issue permanently.
