pie update on vzw s8 + no service - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Hi there guys,
Good question got my phone updated to the latest pie firmware 9.0 G955USQU5DSC1 and now having issues registering on network. I'm on page plus and not using verizon. Once updated to 9.0 I had my Page Plus sim installed and picked up full bar reception was able to make calls and listen to my voicemail but annoying pop up kept poping up every 2 seconds or so that new sim was installed and I should restart my phone. Right after restart I'm having trouble with reception I tried everything adding apn, rebooting, reflashing, factory reset, nothing would help. I thought verizon phones are all factory unlocked.. kinda sucks to face it now with this pie update cuz page plus worked just fine on stock firmware 7.0. The phone is 3 years old .. fully paid off from vzw. Why I'm getting this ? Once i insert verizon sim everything is working...

3 month old nexus no data or cell connection

My 3 month old galaxy nexus lost the ability to connect to the cell network, wifi and bluetooth are fine but when i scan for an apn it errors out, and i can not add an apn manually. i followed the thread to bring the phone back to factory defaults and re locked it like it was going back for warranty and that did not help, so it has the factory radio, bootloader, recovery and os 4.0.2 on it now.
do i have a $600 paper weight now? has anyone ever heard of this happening?
More than likely a SIM error if you've restored to stock and it still happens. Do you have another device or SIM to swap and test?
the sim is now in my blackberry torch that i have as a back up phone and working, even with out a sim in it there is no notice on the screen that says please insert sim card, but i am not sure if thats normal or not.
looking at the *#*#4636#*#* screen the radio keeps going from emergency calls only to radio off and back again.
edit: it does say no sim inserted, but its only on the lock screen so i missed it.
so looks like i am screwed with this phone, the store i bought it off the guy is freaking out saying why did you root it, (he keeps calling it jailbreaking) why didn't you just leave it alone, my response is why did you put those rims on your car, why did you change your desktop wallpaper, what can i say, i love AOKP rom.
but this is a hardware related problem, i put the stock radio and everything back to stock so what else could it be but hardware?
has no one ever heard of this problem with a gsm galaxy nexus?
The only time I saw this issue someone flashed the AOKP tablet rom.

You are not the only one buddy. I am just south of Chicago and mine hasn't worked for over a week. I have full signal bars, but 7/8 of the time it reads that I'm not connected to the mobile network (as in my signal bars hardly ever turn blue). Even if it looks as if I have a connection EVERYTHING just times out. I haven't had the nerve to send it back to Singapore for a repair. The only reason I even own this phone is due to my drug abusing postal carrier inputting they delivered my GS2 and then simply didn't. Without signature verification its just a he said/ she said.

No phone service?

Starting last week on Saturday, I began getting no phone service. My data works and I'm able to communicate through what's app but when I try to make a call I get no dial tone and "call ended". I have been rooted I forgot which rom I had , maybe Cloudy 2.3 and never had a problem with phone service not working even though I get no bars inside my house.
Today I installed a 6.0 Rom Liquid Dark, and the same issue is happening with my service. I recently paid the phone off. Yesterday I un rooted and went completely back to stock and was able to get phone service. Could this be a sim card issue/phone/or rom problem?
Since I recently paid the phone off, If i bring the phone in will I get a replacement or there is a issue?
If it started working again after the you when back to stock then it was something with the ROM or maybe you flashed a incompatible modem by mistake.

Data and phone signal not working after January security update

Hi all, my phone began developing a problem with the data and phone signal a little bit over 24 hours ago. Data will show only 4G, not LTE, but I cannot use any data enabled apps. Phone signal was not working even though I had full bars. I checked with T-Mobile and there were no outages. I was instructed to exchange the SIM card, which I did, with no luck. Curiously, when at home and on WiFi I could access data and make phone calls as usual, not on WiFi calling though.
I put the new SIM on an old Nexus phone and it works as it should. Could the January security update be the culprit? It worked fine after the update until yesterday, and no error messages have shown up.
In any case, a replacement unit is on the way.
Thanks for any input given.

~2 days after I updated my phone black screened and got stuck in a boot loop with no access to safety mode or the keypress boot menu. My phone battery seems to have died from three days straight of bootlooping (placed it on the charger to attempt to flash) and it no longer works at all. I'm sure it's all coincidental but this was 6 days after my warranty expired. I had the feeling this update had something to do with it as well.

In my case I got a refurbished S7 from my carrier as a warranty exchange. I have had it for a day only, and so far so good. I did not get bootloops or random restarts on my S6 though. On wifi everything worked correctly.

Sprint GS6 Will not receive texts

Android version
Android 6.0.1
After the most recent update I stopped receiving texts. Went to Samsung who couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. The tech used Odin as well to pull out and reinstall the software. Sprint with their ****tiest customer service in the world was no help either.
Reset phone,
updated profile and prl
swapped sim at the store
Factory reset phone
Odin
nothing has worked so far.
What ideas do you have ladies and gents. Im stumped and im out of factory warranty.
Maybe an apn issue? the only one im showing connected to is APN2 LTE internet.
I did that as well. No change.
Reinstalled google voice after the nougat update and it's fixed. only getting texts through voice however. so it must have one setting on a wierd yes / no option.

Phone dialer crash cannot make calls.

Hi guys,
I have tried a few different ROMs and I am experiencing the same problem with each. When I dial my voicemail or any number it says call ended immediately and the phone dialer crashes. My phone was originally a Verizon phone which has been SIM unlocked. I never had a problem with this phone when I originally first used it when it came out. I use to use it with Straight Talk. Then I shelved it for a few years. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?
Thanks,
Rocky
Actually I found the box its an AT&T model that I unlocked.

Hi Rocky
I have a similar issue. I have an HTC One M9 rooted running AICP Android Pie in which everything works fine on wifi (browsing, google play, using apps etc) but when I try to make a phone call the phone locks up and freezes (normal GSM SIM with network set to 3G or LTE which makes no difference). I have to reboot the phone into recovery (TWRP) and then manually reboot the phone from there to get it to recover.
Any ideas from other members would be appreciated. Mine is an HTC One M9 with AICP_himaul-userdebug 9 PQ1A.181205.006 577ecdc94b release keys
