Starting last week on Saturday, I began getting no phone service. My data works and I'm able to communicate through what's app but when I try to make a call I get no dial tone and "call ended". I have been rooted I forgot which rom I had , maybe Cloudy 2.3 and never had a problem with phone service not working even though I get no bars inside my house.
Today I installed a 6.0 Rom Liquid Dark, and the same issue is happening with my service. I recently paid the phone off. Yesterday I un rooted and went completely back to stock and was able to get phone service. Could this be a sim card issue/phone/or rom problem?
Since I recently paid the phone off, If i bring the phone in will I get a replacement or there is a issue?
If it started working again after the you when back to stock then it was something with the ROM or maybe you flashed a incompatible modem by mistake.

I recently rooted my Evo and put CM7 nightly 12 on it. All was well, I even installed the Savaged Zen kernel. Even better. Just yesterday I updated to CM7 RC2 to give it a shot. Today I went to work and had to drive to a remote area where I don't get service, so I put my Evo in airplane mode to save battery life. (this was after having it overheat while charging, could be a hardware issue) At the end of the day I turned the 3G radio back on and nothing... It connects and disconnects to the tower. It will not send data and it will not place phone calls on the 3G connection (WiFi works). I did a restore back to nightly 12 to see if maybe it was a problem with the OS. Nothing. A few hours ago it began functioning again, but after checking it a few minutes ago I have discovered it is back to no connection. (the signal bars bounce between nothing and full, but never shows the X for no signal) Has anyone else had an issue like this? Should I restore back to sense and unroot to take advantage of my warranty? If this has already been posted before please direct me to the right thread.
I'm having the same problem. I installed Cyanogen RC 2 and had no problem since it came out. I went on vacation to a beach, and during my trip I switched it on to airplane mode since I was in a remote location. After turning it back on, I noticed I can't get the Data Connection to work. The 3g bar doesn't even show up, and after messing with the settings trying to fix the problem I managed to do nothing. I tried using a backup I made from a week past, and encountered the same problem. Then I flashed the newest nightly and still no Data whatsoever. Wifi works fine, and 4g is acting weird but I got it to work a few times. Does this have something to do with sprint?
I think it is the same as the 4G 3G hang. I typically get it while tethering and the phone is normaly quite warm.
So I managed to fix the problem. I ended up flashing Koni's Elite Rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941055
I got an error that said "Error 67 registration failure"
I updated my profile and it was automatically fixed. I'm not aware you can do this on cyanogen stock rom, but I think you can dial a number that will do this for you.
After getting the 3g to work again, I flashed back to the stock cyanogen, and it is still working. So for now im good to go.
I do think is sprint and not the rom because I did a restore to warm z and was still having the same problems. Also my brother's evo was doing the same thing and he doesnt have cm7 on it.
I figured it was something to do with the profile... I restored all the way back to sense and attempted to update profile, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I will try that ROM and see if it does anything. Why can't they just make this easy and allow updating of vital software that allows the radios to work on WiFi or from SDcard? This is dumb.
I tried that ROM and nothing works. Not really sure what to do. I might have to restore to Sense and unroot to take it back... I really want to avoid that if at all possible.
Unrooted my phone and getting a free replacement from Sprint. Still unsure of the problem, seems to work randomly.

I also have the same problem. No 3g data, gps, and 4g is acting weird.
I also had the same registration error number 67. My question is, how do you update your profile?
Hi everyone, I received the Galaxy Nexus last night from Google Play. Out of the box, I was able to connect to the network (make calls, send texts, etc.). I was charging my phone at night and then I realized that I was no longer connected to the T-Mobile network. The triangle is empty now and I can't do anything on the network anymore. I ran the Jelly Bean 4.1 OS upgrade as soon as we took the phone out of the box. I checked the APN settings and I noticed that it was completely blank but I was unable to successfully add a new one. I can try to create a new one and input all the settings but it doesn't seem like it was saved.
I just took it up with T-Mobile and told them to update my line to this phone, and they assured me that it would work in 2 hours, but I won't be holding my breath. At the same time, I contacted Google and they unfortunately said that they cannot do anything in this case and I would have to take it up with Samsung... I don't really want to do that and I hope that I don't have a faulty device..
Also, I never rooted it and everything is completely stock.
ANY HELP??

hi,
im in the exact same situation phone is perfect on stock rom and all but has an empty triangle with no internet connection being displayed on the notifications bar, i need my phone to work and would love to figure this out please someone help would greatly apprecitae it.
I have the same issue on my international one. It has been decided it has a hardware failure. I have no warranty though. I might buy one with a broken screen and swap. You have a warranty use it.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Same issue here. I had the phone for months (stock ROMs) and was perfectly happy. Few days back, connection dropped at random and the only way to fix it was through a reboot. Then, after 2 or 3 days, no connection whatsoever, it doesn't even "find" the sim card, so it seems as it's no longer asking for my sim pin code.
Tried about everything, even wiping and reflashing every stock ROM and radio I could get my hands on (including 4.2.1, 4.1.2 and 4.0.4), to no avail. I'm about to give up and return it to Samsung for repair. We're not the only ones, that for sure...
Hi everyone. This is my first time posting on here, so here we go:
I am basically having issues making phone calls and sending/receiving text messages. Now I have talked to Sprint and they troubleshooted the issue with me and would get it to work temporarily. Then it would go back the original issue again. They said that it was not a tower issue. Also, my phone is rooted and running a custom rom. Issues seemed to occur a week or so after I flashed JB based rom by Phantom. Not saying that's the issue, but I figured I would throw that in there. I have also attached a screenshot of my about phone. Since then, I have flashed the original rooted rom that I have on my phone. Maybe you guys can suggest a few things. I have also tried the ##72786#. and that does not fix the problem. At one point, it would work temporarily.
Thanks in advance.
Are you in any part of the US effected by hurricane Sandy?
Ever since hurricane I don't receive calls at my house but go less then a mile away works just fine.
I switched on over to roam on VeriZon network with roam control and everything works.
I got told all towers are working in my area. I even flashed back to 100% stock unrooted.
I had Sprint note in my account I was having issues and depending on how long it continues I'll be getting a credit to my bill.

I'm actually located in Florida. I should be fine. Not sure what is going on. .
Something really odd has happened. I rooted my phone (vzw gnex) tonight and installed cyanogenmod 10.1 monthly. However, after I installed the ROM, everything worked fine except for data service. I had zero service so I decided to revert to stock. I am now on stock 4.1 but still no service. Whats wrong?? Unless there was a freak data outage (in Santa Barbara, CA) right when I rooted the phone I think this is probably my fault. I do have data enabled in mobile settings.
EDIT- data came back...i guess there was an outage for the last hour. Plz delete thread thanks
I posted this also on the CM forums. Ive read about 100 different blogs and pages about what to try and nothing seems to have resolved the issue.
I was running CM 10.2.1 on my Sprint Galaxy Nexus (toroplus) for months with basically no problems. Yesterday while at work my phone died and when I got a charge on it and turned it back on it kept prompting me to reactivate with Sprint. It failed many times. I took it to the local sprint store kid told me to factory reset it with the stock ROM. Still had the same problem. What it will do is my signal triangle will go clear for a few mins, then go full gray for a few mins, then I will get one bar the little corner then it will repeat this process. Can't make any phone calls or send texts while its doing this. I went to the main sprint store in town and the second I walked in everything started working fine getting 4G can make calls and texts etc. Ever since I got a few miles away after I left it returned to the same issue. I went back a 2nd time explained what happened the guy call and had them reprovision my line and said the only other option is to pay $75 to have a tech look at it. I tried flashing CM11 M4 on it and the same problem is present. Tried flashing different radios it has GJ04 initially, tried FH05, and GA02 and I am still having the same issues. Has anyone run into this and if so were they able to fix it?
