Android version
Android 6.0.1
After the most recent update I stopped receiving texts. Went to Samsung who couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. The tech used Odin as well to pull out and reinstall the software. Sprint with their ****tiest customer service in the world was no help either.
Reset phone,
updated profile and prl
swapped sim at the store
Factory reset phone
Odin
nothing has worked so far.
What ideas do you have ladies and gents. Im stumped and im out of factory warranty.
Maybe an apn issue? the only one im showing connected to is APN2 LTE internet.
I did that as well. No change.
Reinstalled google voice after the nougat update and it's fixed. only getting texts through voice however. so it must have one setting on a wierd yes / no option.

I'm unable to receive texts or phone calls. Making calls and using the internet works fine. What can be going on? I've tried calling tech support twice. They reset my phone on the network, but that never really worked. This led them to believe that it has to be a problem with my phone internally. Sometimes, my fine will work randomly. Then I will notice I haven't received a text in awhile, so Ill send myself a text and realize my phone isn't working right again.
One odd thing I noticed is that when I'm on a call, I am able to receive texts. WTF? I tried going to Sprint today and they said my phone passed the "post tests", and since I don't have the insurance plan there is nothing they can really do.
I'm on the stock rom now and I've hard reset plenty.
There has to be some way to fix my phone. Thanks in advance.
Have you tried re flashing the stock rom , there is a update rom out for you phone..btw you do not need to unlock the phone to flash a stock factory rom..go to HTC.com and find your phone and then downloads
http://www.htc.com/us/support
You consider a rom from March an update? I was already on that update. Ill just get another phone.
Well i figured the phone was out of the warranty period when the store said they could not help you..yea i seen you do not have insurance , so with that in mind , i would have thought that the Rom update would be much newer then the current one on the phone....to me it would be worth a shot to try it and see what happens..
But you know better i guess, sorry to try and help you out..
Btw you only stated that you have hard rest, nothing about you have done a Rom update already..sheesh
Thanks for your help. I just went to that site thinking there was something new. Yah, I had to flash back to stock b4 bringing the phone in.
This started this morning. My T-mobile SGS2 will not receive texts that come from other T-mobile phones. It sends fine to any network. It receives messages fine from my girlfriend's phone on AT&T. It can call out to any number just fine. But all calls in go straight to voicemail.
I spent nearly an hour on the phone with 3 levels of T-mobile's customer support reps re-starting, clearing cashes, re-starting again, sending myself texts (which don't come through) still to no avail. Aparently they say my phone isn't properly registering?? I'm not even sure what that means. [edit- they say their engineers are "working on it" and it may be 1-3 days before my phone is functional]
Has anyone encountered anything similar, or have any ideas for a quick fix? Factory restore is a last last last resort.
Do a backup using clockworkmod since you say faxtory reset is a last resort. And then try a different rom with even a different radio from scatch. If it works you can probably pinpoint better where the source of the problem might be from.

T-mobile sorted everything out.
Hello,
I have a Galaxy Nexus with the stock ROM. Rooted running 4.0.2. I had Market Enabler running to switch to the T-Mobile Network. This setup had been working fine for a couple of weeks now. All of a sudden today, after I visited the Google Play store online for some reason I can now no longer make phone calls!
Market Enabler will not load any longer at all. It doesn't force close, I just get a blank screen. I tried removing it's root permissions. Then clearing the cache and deleting it but no good. I tried reinstalling it, no good.
Anyone have any ideas? I've tried rebooting the phone a couple of times and no help either!
I've tried restoring from backup using the Rom Manager to the original and still doesn't work!
I'm kinda bumping so that I get help!

Thanks for replying. Nothing works, no SMS, no 3G. Wifi does, but nothing related to the "sim". The network signal comes and goes, but I can't do anything related to it.
If u go in settings - info about ur phone, can u see ur baseband radio info or there is some "unknown" ?
That would mean ur efs partition get corrupted probably, which is not good sometimes

got an old phone to test your SIM?
Rooted&Unlocked Nexus can't make calls or SMS; connects to internet ok from network
I'm having a similar problem. Got the nexus from a friend and tried to activate it on my phone line and the Verizon tech reps say it looks like the activation is "stuck at the switch". Checked the ESN (clean), checked authenticity (ok), not on a lost/stolen list... can't figure out what the issue is.
Any suggestions? this has been pretty frustrating...
A bit of background:
- Did a factory data reset (wiped devlik, data, cache)
- Getting 4G signal; can connect to the internet/sync data
- 3 new SIM cards attempted in the past 3 days; currently on 1 for the past day
- Tried *228, updated roaming; can't activate phone (says call a rep)
Try a factory reset. A friend of mine had an issue about making phone calls on his Galaxy S II and a few reboots made the phone talk again.
Alternatively, shut down the phone, pull battery for a few hours. Put battery back in phone, boot up. Sometimes things get a little FUBAR'd and battery pulls can solve some problems.
still not working...
Looks like things went through the verizon switch....but still can't call or text.
Would unrooting fix it? Did a factory reset again and pulled battery and sim... unfortunately no change
I have the Sprint version of the S3, and I'm rooted. I have the stock 4.0.4 rom and the Jelly Bean rom from XDA. I am currently running Jelly Bean, but the problem exists on both ROMs. I have wiped Dalvik, wiped cache, and tried reinstalling Jelly Bean, and nothing has helped. I don't have a 2G/3G/4G toggle. All I have - in both ROMs - is an LTE/CDMA or just CDMA toggle.
The problem started when I tried to flash CMW Touch by downloading it directly to my SD card and going through CMW to get the install completed. Couldn't get it to work didn't think too much about it. Got in the car and realized I was getting no 3G or voice whatsoever. I was getting sporadic 4G but nothing else. I presumed that Sprint was tinkering again. Finally, I started to see I was getting a few bars for voice, but each time I tried to make a call, I would get "Mobile network not available." So I called Sprint, and the tech support tells me to dial ##-something, then after a while the whole thing comes back. I presume that Sprint got finished tinkering, and tech support really didn't do much - just coincidence.
Fast forward to yesterday. I have some time, and I realize that I never got CMW Touch installed. So I try to flash it again, and then I realize my voice and 3G are gone again, but 4G and Wi-Fi are working like a charm. I also realize that Sprint isn't the one guilty of tinkering.
I got as far as having a few voice bars, but more "mobile network not available." I suspect that the zip file I flashed must have been for another carrier even though I was certain it was for Sprint, and I also suspect my phone is getting bars from another carrier. That's just a suspicion.
As of this morning, I have since updated the radio/modem to the newest version, and that didn't work. I have also flashed the most recent firmware update (modem, baseband, etc.), and that didn't work either. I'm an eyelash from having to download that app that rolls back the counter and take it back into the Sprint store for repair/replacement. Hoping to not have to do that.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
If you're from the Pacific Northwest, Sprint has been having some connection issues here for the last few days. There's an article over on Engadget that talks about it and how it's delayed a few Alaska Airline flights. Mine has been going in and out all morning, but it seems to be calming down now.
Hello thanks in advance for anyone who can help with this question. Ive been all around xda and other forums as well and cant find a solution to my issue. I had "the peoples rom gs317 on my phone for a wile and everything was fine. Tuesday night I went to the official nightly of cm 10.2 (I've flashed a nightly of this rom before with no issues) and after that I've lost voice and text. Possible related to APN settings maybe? When I try and make a phone call I get "mobile network not available" and when I try and send a text I get a similar message. What I do have is data I still have my LTE/4G connection. Tried flashing different radios and roms with no luck. Tried the APN fix below with no luck

Finally went back to un-rooted stock rom and went to the sprint store, they seemed pretty surprised because under phone status/info it shows no mobile number and PRL 0000 The crazy thing is in the sprint store I had no data signal (dumb sprint coverage)l so they said it has to do with the crack on my screen?!? and my cellular chip may be bad??? I said thats seems odd to me given the screens been cracked for 6 months. They ran the phone with their diagnostics machine which I thought would fix it but nothing. I'm now at home and my data connection is fine again. Should I try taking it to a different store? Any thoughts/solutions would be much appreciated.
Have you tried to reactivate your phone, you'll need to be in a touchwiz rom and then dial ##72786#
Wow that dialer code didnt work before I took it to the sprint store! Now it DID. Thanks jdelano! I can make phone calls and text now! Only thing is now my data is gone. any thoughts?
OK everything works now. Started getting a switch error when calling and did a CLFS refresh listed here:
