Anyone have snapchat issues after downloading the security update? People on the other end of video chat only see a gray circle. Worked fine before i downloaded the update, so it's the only thing i can think of that has caused the issue.

Firstly, I'm running the rooted stock rom (OTA 1.45..). I don't know if this has been a problem SINCE I've rooted, as I don't go on facebook much, but, one of my friends, I just dded her on facebook the other day, and then noticed that it wouldn't let me link her fb account on her contact card because her fb account wasn't present in my contacts.
Anyways, whenever I try to refresh my facebook contacts, it takkes me back to the "online directories" screen with a message that says CONNECTION ERROR.
I can login to my fb just fine and things like my friendstream and the facebook app itself are ok, but, my contacts will not update at all.
Is there a file I'm supposed to flash, or what? Any help would be appreciated.
This has been discussed here and everywhere else
As of right now, their seems to be a problem with the Facebook servers. You can log into Facebook for HTC Sense fine, but it will show that you have "no friends". When you attempt to refresh, it will just load up and then exit out of the program with the "connection failed" error.

Sorry. I've seen discussions about it, but with so many different RoMs out, I wanted to make sure it was system wide rather than one or two in-particular. Thank you though.
weird, when I try to add facebook for sense to my accounts sync, it says warning the service is curently unavailable. do you want to try again? and never works.
Nothing new. It's been broken for over a week. It has nothing to do with being rooted.

This is the first I've heard of Facebook not working... mine has been working with no problems whatsoever. (and I'm constantly on it, refreshing all of the time) Maybe it's not as widespread as some people think?
Facebook for Android works.
Facebook for Sense is not working.
Two different things that people are getting confused. It has been down since last week. It has nothing to do with ROOT or NONROOTED phones, it has to do with Facebook's connection or server hence the "connection error" that is displayed when you try to refresh your contacts.
I'm going to take a look at logcat when I can but it doesn't seem to be a connection issue (at least with authentication). Deliberately enter the wrong password and you'll see.
An issue with Facebook none the less.

Exactly. You can log in successfully, but when it comes to getting your contacts between Facebook servers and your phone, it isn't working. Somewhere there is a disruption between the 2. Androidforums.com has been on this for a while and even the HTC.com forums have had people talking about it.
From what someone mentioned, this happened to the iPhone a few weeks ago and was successfully fixed ASAP...
Soooo, basically, we're just waiting for it to fix itself?
... ugh.

I'm sure this issue will be fixed ASAP (As Soon As Possible) too, rather than just sitting around twiddling their thumbs...
Go here this should work. Be sure to read my post as well.

The problem seems to be fixed now. I just happened to open my people app, and pow! Facebook friends and contacts were updated. Pictures, updates, everything.
Anybody notice their newsfeed change just all of a sudden ? I got the update a couple days ago but my news feed changed this morning to the same style as the mobile web version and my sister who has a Samsung captivate updated before me but her news feed didn't change

There was an article about the change the other day on DroidLife. It seems as though the changes are being slowly rolled out to those who have updated the app. I haven't seen any ETA on when it will be implemented for everyone.
Here's a link to the article:
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/06/2...-slowly-rolling-out-pages-revamped-news-feed/
I noticed the change too and I'm glad the App is finally receiving more features
Anyone else having an issue where the feeds and main page constantly update? I can't do anything. It keeps refreshing. Tried force closing and retrying but it's still doing it.

No problem with that as of yet, but that said, it is taking a pretty good chunk of time to load, even when using WiFi. load time is about 30 seconds... too long for my taste

I had the same issue, I had to uninstall and reinstall fb again. Now I'm back to the older news feed but it doesn't refresh constantly anymore.
I'm sure we're not the only ones with the issue but I imagine this should get fixed real quick.

^^
Yea I hope so. You can still update your status if you go back to the main page and click on your profile you're able to update and it goes through. but there seems to be a glitch in the New News feed that is causing it to constantly refresh...
I'm not having that particular issue, but I am finding that feed posts are constantly out of order. I prefer the "Most Recent" order, and unless I switch to "Top News" and back, it seems out of order.
However I really like the new features, and the good out-weighs the bad with this update. I'm sure the annoyances will be patched.

Screenshot?
I had this issue on my old Galaxy SIII as well. I posted about it on /r/android but nobody mentioned anything.
One thing I did figure out is that the picture was only sideways for me. Also, it appeared sideways in some apps, but not others--for example, it came up right-side-up on my phone, but appeared sideways in hangouts (I had the exact same chat window opened on both).
mine were that way in hangouts as well, works fine in evolve and qksms though
Same problem
2 hangout updates since I first made this post and it's still broken. Come on google!
My wife has the same issue with her LG G3. I don't think its an issue with hangouts, at least not only google issue, since the trouble is very located to one device model.
It's really annoying. Nobody found a fix/workaround?
I have an HTC One M8 on Straighttalk (AT&T) and after this week updates Facebook and Messenger stopped working. I wonder if it's just me. weird that both apps are developed by FB.
I had my phone rooted for a while then got back to stock to get the OTA update to Marshmallow. AndroidPay still not working because of that. I wonder if the issue with FB and Messenger could be cause by the same anomaly.
many thanks!!
Yep
I'm running GPE H9 and I can confirm on MM for me Messenger works fine only the main FB is the problem what I do is I long press the back key and it automatically kills the app

You aren't the only one. If you look at the reviews for both apps in the playstore, you'll see that it's loaded with reviews with comments the same as yours. Recent update broke something evidently. At least for some people. From the reviews, it would appear a lot of people. I can't tell you myself. I don't do the auto updates thing. I read all the bad reviews and that was enough for me to stay away from it for now. My guess is there will be a fix coming.
Until then, the only thing I can suggest is to uninstall and reinstall both apps if you haven't done so already. Can't hurt to try.
I'm not sure if this is a Oreo issue or not, as soon as I got the phone I updated it to Oreo and wiped it. When I go into my call log and try to view the details of a call, the app crashes non stop no matter what I do. I can go into either Contacts app and look at a contact and get call details there just fine. Anyone have any ideas? I went to the phone app and cleared the app cache and data but its still doing it.
Also, anyone know why Razer duplicated what seems like random apps? Calculator, Contacts?
Can anyone looking at this at least try it and report back? I use call details a ton for keeping track of call time and right now its a huge pain in the butt.
I am reporting in. I have come across this bug. Honestly we should report it on the Razer insider forum....
Alright I'll get on there and report it too.
Yeah, same thing is happening to me as well.
They are wanting me to upload a bug report which I'll be doing sometime later today. The thing that really sucks, the phone app doesn't appear to be listed on the play store so they will have to issue a system OTA, which I'm assuming is going to take longer.
I also just noticed, voicemail notification cause the dialer app to crash. I have 4 voicemails I was not notified about.
I'm almost positive that I've gotten voicemail notices just fine.. but I'll test this later today to see.
Anyone get a fix or update on this?

Are you still experiencing this on O MR1?
All of these issues are fixed according to some users on XDA or the Razer forum. I wouldn't know cause I sent mine back. Hopefully the 2nd one is a little less of a mess.

My phone is not experiencing a problem. My sister, however, started having the problem after upgrading to Oreo and she is up to date and still has the issue.
Very bizarre.
We have cleared cache and data and no change. She is currently using a 3rd party dialer in the mean time.
