VR headset compatible OnePlus 7 Pro ? - OnePlus 7 Pro Accessories

Hi, I have a Homido v1, and it is too much small for the oneplus 7 pro !
Does someone could recommend me a VR headset compatible ? (size and maybe resolution)
I think it could be a really good mobile for VR games.
Thanks.

Hi, I bought the homido v2 because it fits.
But the screen size is too big for the lenses, I have to zoom out the content to be good, but not all games have this feature (tested with fibrum, there is the function "correct lenses").
It's strange that there is no VR headset compatible, this is not the only 6.6' screen size.

I think it's the aspect ratio that's the issue.

Ok, so there are just 2 solutions, we wait for a compatible headset, or maybe there is an app to change the ratio ?

OnePlus might even come out with their own since it's their highest resolution phone so far and full screen display.

Thanks! I wait for your feedback.
I already saw this one, I think they updated, because now it's: 4 - 6,5 inches. that's good.
But the max size of the phone is: 163mm * 83mm, the onplus 7 pro is 162.6mm, so it should be fine, but I would like to know if it fits with a case.
And also what about the comfort ? The phone is pretty heavy, so with the homido v2 it pushes on the nose.
Thanks!

Google daydream VR headset is working great with 7 pro. You'll need to install daydream enabler module over magisk, and limit display to 60Hz.

I tried it in a store, and it is too small.
The phone exceeds on the sides.
And why 60hz?

Size is of no concern at all. It's made to hold large phones such as pixel XL. Software is not supporting 90hz. It will work, but you'll be bothered by some pixelation issues.

Okay, but the screen ratio is good ?
I mean the width distance of the lens?
Because if I remember well, the daydream was comfortable.

Yes, everything works perfectly! Here's current special: https://mashable.com/shopping/deal-june-14-google-daydream-view-vr-headset-amazon/

Can't you just make a custom profile for a viewer you have: https://wwgc.firebaseapp.com/ ?

Pixel 2 and Daydream

Well I'll start buy say I had never used a VR head set tell today.
I was at Best buy and had time to kill so I got a 2017 DayDream head set just spontaneously.
I Payed 140 canadain.
So I get home and fire it up and I'm instantly blowen away by how amazing everything looked. Only down side was the Image were just a tiny bit grainy in video but in games it wasent noticable.
The new heat sink on the front really does work. The device never overheated or lagged in 5 hours of use. not all at once but 1 or 2 hours at a time.
Battery lasted quite well can't say how long cuz I was chargeing will cooling device after seasons. It's very comfortable on the face and little to no eye strain for me.
What do you guys think about the pixel 2 with day dream?
Do you like it or hate it let me know below.
It is a big hit in my house.
I don't have a Google Daydream, but will be getting one for Christmas. At the moment, i have a Google Cardboard that i got for free. I was wondering if anyone has experiences with the 2 and could tell me about the advantages of a Daydream.

Razer Phone is not Daydream Compatible... Why not?

It seems like this would be the best phone for Google's Daydream platform with the enhanced 120Hz display, full 2K resolution for clarity, advanced heat dissipation, stereo speakers so no need for headphones. What gives? Anyone have any ideas because this frustrates me personally?

The Razer has an LCD Display (vs LED/OLED/AMOLED) which supposedly doesn't play nice with VR.
@Munk0
If root is achieved, looks like sideloading Daydream is possible :

Using Google Cardboard on the Razer Phone is the best VR experience I have had with any device including the Pixel XL (version 1 ), Nexus 6, Nexus 5x and OnePlus 5.
Plus the Nexus 5x uses an LCD and also works good for VR. Maybe it's the brightness levels not being as high? Either way Cardboard was super fluid and I got less motion sickness because of the fast refresh rate/head tracking.
What cardboard device did you use. I'm struggling to find one that fits. ?

Tend to use the stock app most of the time as 99% of the time it produces a perfect picture for me, I also have 'open camera' and the 'moment camera' apps installed as well to play around with as well.
As a side not, I use a Rode mic for filming video as not a fan of the quality of the mics on the phone
If we only can have g gcam v6 with night sight and googles great HDR+

I come from Sammy Note 8 to, yaa and mi max 3, honor 8x max, honor note 10 and now mate 20X.
I love all those phones lots more then the Note 8 which i sold after 10 days. I only like phablets with big display and Sammy note is no longer in this category after the ratio aspect 18-19/9 becomes standards, sooo saaddd. I really miss my old loving 16/9 and my old Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra a lot 6,8 inch and 16/9.
That was times.

I hear ya. My favorite phone was the first Note Edge (with the one edge). Nice width and the edge had some useful apps associated with it. If it wasn't for the poor battery life I might still be using it!
Can someone please post the stock camera apk from M20X AL00 (china) version? The video record stopped working on mine and want to see if reinstalling it will fix it.

i think the recording will still be using the mic from the phone....in samsung camera app, there is setting to control the source....
try recording with you microphone...pulling it near and away from your voice....i think it will remain same volume....which means recording takes place at the phone..

I couldnt ignore this post because I am the same way..I had a Sony Z Ultra, a Mediapad X2 and a Sony Z3 Tablet Compact (which I still have) as my phones but I wanted something more modern and oh boy, since all this trend of bagette shaped phones, it has been a struggle for me to find anything half decent. Finally settled on the Mate 20x which as awesome as it is, still feels so freaking tiny. Having a hard time adapting to the smaller phone but on the other side..damn this phone has great features!
I've just had my new Mate 20 X for a week and overall love the phone.
But the biggest gripe I have with this phone is the retard camera app. Why is it that when the app is set for 40MP resolution on the main camera, it will disable access to the wide-angle and telephoto lenses? This makes no sense what so ever mainly because the default 10MP setting absolutely sucks.. absurd over processing, contrast and sharpening. The best quality and most natural looking images I get is by using the 40MP setting with the main camera (under good lighting conditions). But then if I want to use the wide-angle or tele lens for a particular shot, I have to go back into Settings, fall back to the default 10MP option just so there is access to the other lenses. This is really really so bad. Why isn't there a setting of simply bring able to usr all the of 3 sensors' full native resolution instead of having to fall back to 10MP picture size just to be able to switch cameras? Is there a workaround this or another camera app than can work in a more logical way than the Huawei's camera app?
This aside, I love the phone.. great batter life, super fast, incredible overall build quality, really awesome hardware.. maybe the last great phone from Huawei for the foreseeable future as things look pretty grim for them. But the camera app, wow.. what a nightmare.
Anyway, maybe I'm doing something wrong and I haven't figured it out yet.. tanks in advance for any advice.

Gear VR Support with root possible?

Do you think after rooting and editing the build.prop to those of a S10 and sideloading all necessary apps it would work?
Will probably need a custom kernel as well unless the driver's are already included but yes it should be possible

Dunno about the gear VR, but the main issue is the size of display and distance from the lenses.
The screen is too large, thus the distance between the 2 images on the display does not allow for a sharp/correct image seen thru the lenses unless you are able to have one eye looking right and one looking left
I tried to find a set accepting screens over 6.8" but did not find any.
Above explanation is correct. Screen is too big, you probably need another VR headset

That's IMHO a lot of WRONG! I read something similar on reddit and I think you did to and just recycling wrong information. I didn't on reddit, but let me debunk this theory here.
Have you ever unhinged your smartphone from the Gear VR while in use from the clip on top of the Phone which just holds it in place? That way the Phone is still connected via usb-c and everything is running. Did you see that Image displayed? Yeah it's WINDOWED! While in Gear VR you don't use the complete screen. So on the Note 10 + the screen size wouldn't even matter because the content that Gear VR has to display could be still at the perfect position because like I said it's windowed and you can move around a window on a big screen. And if a Note 9 fits in to the Gear VR a Note 10 + or at least the Note 10 would to!
I don't think even think there is a need for custom kernel... Gear VR is a bunch of apk's that's it.

Nope you assume wrong, never read Reddit or whatever. I tested several VR kits and it does not work. Did not try the official Samsung GearVR though.
Any other kit fails for the reason i gave. Previous Notes used to work fine with them but not Note10plus.

Yeah but I was talking about the Gear VR and besides why would I use any other VR headset? they all suck and you can't even use all the goodness that comes with Oculus and so on...
If you can get the phone to fit go for it. Note 10+ is to big
You wont see the framework officially released, Oculus or Facebook or whoever co-owns it now.
Stopped the deal with Samsung and they wanted to focus solely on PC and Headset and none of the mobile stuff.
So the deal was stopped i think it ended on the Series 8. But by the time it officially happened the Series 9 was released. so this will be the last OS with it on.
I dont know if Daydream will work (Googles Version of it) You just wont be able to use the Remote!
BUT who says you cannot use the Spen
I'd love to see an option, i used to enjoy watching films on the Gear VR while the misses was asleep, She couldnt moan the TV was to bright or the phone and no light was leaked!! Unsure if i can get it working the same way as my note 8 did

7T or 7 Pro?

After a year with the exynos s10+, I want to come back to OP.
I can't decide between the 7T and 7 Pro.
From what I know:
-7t has better battery and brightness
-7 Pro has 1440p
-7T is lighter and less bulky
-7 Pro has a pop up camera while the 7t has a tear drop a la 6T.
-7 pro has more custom roms and twrp while 7T has the rom I like most: renovate
-7t has a weird round protruding camera while the 7 pro has (way too) curved display.
So now I am lost, neither is the obvious choice.
Anyone has both or switched from one to another?
Curved display is horrid on pro I went to 7t from pro only reason not getting a 8

You wont notice any difference
In my experience the super high resolution displays are better when using the phones in VR headset. I tried watching VR contents in my friend's 7 Pro and I can see the difference when is watching the same VR content in my 7T. But I couldn't find any difference when using both phones for usual activities. In my option there's no need to buy 7 Pro for just the resolution thing.
Sent from my OnePlus7T using XDA Labs
I was a VR junkie before, now not at all, it's normal you will see a difference because VR lenses zoom like x5.
So for everything else we won't see a difference specially if we don't have perfect eyesight.
What about root?
Is it easy to root, flash a custom rom and update fw?
I grabbed the 7T for less than $500. Better battery. The teardrop camera, don't even notice it.
And, I don't even bother using the 90hz screen. I prefer the 60hz for battery life. I can't tell the
difference between the two, other than benchmark programs.
7 Pro has also renovate, it's what the dev own.
But I'd say 7 Pro if you care about custom ROMS and TWRP.
I got the Pro originally but hated the curved screen and all the reflections, yuck.
Got the 7T and it's great. Thought the teardrop notch would annoy but it doesn't - in fact it helps to see which way is up!

Idk about the pro but this was with my 7T latest oos version with a custom kernel name Blu spark. Of course it will all depend on your usage.
7t. Its hard to look for a tempered glass for 7 pro. Moving camera is another thing that can break overtime.
I took a 7 pro in the end, I couldn't bare the water drop selfie cam
OnePlus 7T
I would go with OnePlus 7T, you don't notice the screen resolution difference. The biggest thing is to have 90Hz display, which both phones have. I don't know, the Motorized camera on the pro is worrisome. Even when looking at the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, I would prefer the 7T for the cheaper price and great performance.
