Hey guys, I just flashed the Korean KT version pie kdz into my att v35. Everything works great so far, the reception seems better than before.
The way to flash is similar to flashing project fi kdz, but the phone was wiped clean by doing so. So back up as always.

my imei is still there, but I did hear some ppl have this issue. Not sure why. I think if you have successfully flashed the project fi rom before, you should be fine.

Pardon our skepticism. I personally know of someone over in Moto Quark forum who bricked their phone (back when it was newly released) trying to flash firmware they shouldn't... Then out of spite of their own stupidity, posted to everyone it was wonderful and to try it themselves, that they would see. Misery loves company? He got banned.
The defensive attitude makes me even more suspicious.

I think this is what this forum here for, for COMMUNICATION? I simply just don't like that guys attitude, which came straight up to 'report'. I get that we are weary of bricking our phones, but shouldn't we wait to confirm that this is fake when there is a confirmed brick for this particular situation? Jumping the gun like this is not good for the community.

My firmware is:
Software: 3.70.651.1
Baseband: 2.15.00.11.19
However, my Hardware version is:
0004
Is this a problem? Is this also the reason why, when I rooted using the two other others (manual and AutoRoot), I couldn't flash any roms other than CM7??

WELL DOES YUR BOOTLOADER SAY s-off?...........if so.....yur actually rooted and u just need yur recovery......let me know OK?
EDIT.......this has happened to alot of peeps lately./.....boot into HBOOT and check yur status....S-ON or S-OFF.........
What you need to do is boot into the bootloader, select clear storage [factory reset], then run unrevoked again, and you'll be good.
And for future reference, please post questions of this nature in the Q&A section.

You need to find a recovery you like in a form of the PC36IMG and put it on the root of the sd card. power down your phone. hold volume down and press the power key and then hit yes to select to flash or install the img.
I understanding where op is coming from. Why post in q&a if nobody replies when you can post in general and actually get answered? Rules are rules and if a mod is in a bad mood, good luck. Everybody had been B-itchy on the forums lately... (Not directed to anybody specific)

Anyway, this worked like a charm my friend. Thank you sooo much!
Now one other problem, perhaps you can help me?
I am having a problem flashing roms. I have tried ALL THREE METHODS of rooting (Manual, Auto, Unrevoked). What's happening is:
When I flash CM7, everything works fine.
When I flash MIUI or BOS Liquid Royal, I keep getting stuck in bootloop (white evo 4g screen.) NO idea why. I have downloaded the file over 10 times each (in case of bad file, even on 3 diff computers.)
Is it because my Hardware version is 0004??
One side note, when I try to wipe dalvik-cache, I get this error:
Wiping cache...
Formatting CACHE...
Cache wipe complete.
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
(File exists)
You guys can refer to this thread if you'd like to know everything I have tried, or just ask and I'll answer again:

I second that sentiment.

I come to xda purely for the roms. The support here sucks. Everyone that seems to know anything and especially those that don't seem to come down on those seeking guidance with really toolbag like answers. If someone isn't getting answers in the q&a section then what's the point of even having one. I'm sorry if upsets your precious rules but quite frankly in going to go where I can get help. My suggestion to anyone tired of getting slammed for asking a question or needing help I suggest you turn to android central as they have always been good to me and I see far fewer flamers there. We are all human here people. None of you were born experts, you had to learn from someone. So try lightening up a bit, untwist your panties and get over yourselves otherwise you will indeed lose all your membership base. This is supposed to be a community for growth, support and a place for android users to have fellowship. I apologize if what I have said has offended anyone as this is not directed at all of the xda community, but with that being said if you find yourself with your scivies in a bunch then I am probably referring to you. To those that are supportive I thank you, you are a huge part of what makes android so great.
As far as the error I'm sorry to say I'm not sure about that one......if it were me I would try a FORMAT ALL zip......it does a complete wipe or data and such by u still need to wipe dalvik........sorry I can't answer that one foe ya man.....I'm sure one of these guys will help I with that one.....good luck man......these fellas will her u going for sure.......ohhh........and ignore the TROLLS.......plenty software good guys around here

I <3 asshats. GTFU people, I'm sure this question didn't seem that importamd to you, but to this person it was. The DMV reference, yeah ok, its more like going to the library, and you happen to come up to a person and ask a question, and they dont acknowledge you, so you go to another source where you get it answered. Was this wrong, or should you have waited till the first one gave a damn?
Same thing happened to me. In the application there is an app called HTC I believe. I unintalled it and then unrevoked worked fine.
XDA POLICE! COME OUT NOW WITH THE CORRECT SUB FORUM AND YOUR QUESTION ASKED!
Seriously.. to the people who "come here for the ROMS" you know this wasn't a ROM post, ignore it. Man, XDA is srzbzness. Hope OP got his problem solved.

Nice, but technically anyone can install Mango 7720.68 using the leaked development tools.
Not saying I don't believe you, but it would be nice if you could prove it's a replacement and was shipped that way (which there probably isn't an easy way of proving)

Calm down, I personally believe you, because your firmware number hints at Mango being native to your device. I'm just saying there are way too many immature people on these forums who try to get their 2 seconds of fame by making fake leaks, and thus trust isn't what it used to be. Sad days.

Took a couple of "dark" pictures with no flash and they seem much better than my old DVP which was always red/orange and blurred.

C'mon man, giving up already? You haven't even hit the 100 post mark yet. Stick around, Lollipop is coming... Wouldn't you rather have builds for our device, based on a build from our device? I know I would... Ports are nice, but if you can build from the one designed specifically for your device, you get far better results. Be suave Rico.
Lg cloud and Lg smartworld just updated for 5.0 support on the US versions of the apps, so I would expect Lg to be on schedule for the update to lollipop...

When do you think D851 lollipop ROMS will be coming? Will it be the EXACT same process to flash a 5.0 ROM as it is a 4.4? (wipe old, flash new rom, reboot) or will something else have to be done when switching from 4.4 to 5.0 flashing wise through TWRP

It's hard to say. At the start, it may be slightly different, but doubtful. In the Android World, we have grown accustomed to the same process for the most part, so I don't see that changing too much, if at all. I can't say for certain tho, as I'm not a developer.

Yeah. Some people have been saying youll have to flash a zip of SuperSU for it not to crash after you install 5.0, but i dont know.
generally speaking when a new base ROM comes out the process takes time to work out the details. Will it affect the ability to root? Will it affect the ability for loading a custom recovery? Then there is the process of basing custom Roms off the new base, that takes more time. We have seen the last 6 weeks of explosion of new custom roms hitting G3, they all have their own issues but none the less its been great watching happen. I suspect Lollipop will follow the same scenario of a few more months before OTA hits TMO G3 and a few more months after that before we see custom roms based off of 5.0 come out. The process has to be worked out especially for all of us who wont take an OTA under any circumstance.
So can we be able to keep up with n6 development.... I mean kitkat ROMs are all there. Almost. This phone is a beast

The simple answer to this would be, in due time.
It will take a port of GPE for the LG G3, in order to be on the same playing field as the N6:good:

Not necessarily. The CM Alpha holds its own against the N6 really well. Tested navigation through Lollipop's animations between my G3 and a demo N6 in T-mobile and I could notice no difference in speed between both devices despite my G3 running an Alpha build. I suspect a stable daily driver worthy CM build for Lollipop will be here much sooner than people initially anticipated.
Couple of things to remember... Until a leaked D851 5.0 ROM comes out, we won't see updates to builds like CloudyG3... And without the LG stuff available, AOSP ROMs are going to have a bunch of little bugs since they aren't built of native 5.0 stuff.
In time... The fact that we're only three weeks out and have 5.0 ROMs, regardless of how stable, is pretty good.

Correct, once the bugz r ironed out... the G3 will be the device for all others to strive to be:good:
You're welcome, it's all about the T-Mo G3 users.
.
Yep. While they have bugs, stock 5.0 runs extremely well. I'm just going that LG takes the time to optimize things better. 4.4.2 ran pretty rough, but improved over time.
Plus, once LG gets d851 sources out, things should really start to stabilize
Anyone thinking WiFi calling will be something to be ported also? Considering n6 will have code for it available.... I hope.
I'd like to see the possibility to re-file to FCC with new radio which enable band 12. If not, I may get Z3 or wait for G4 depends on band 12 availability in NYC.
BTW, VoLTE isn't available on G3 yet.
Hello
I recently bought a LG G4 off of craigslist and i love it!!! only problem is i didn't know it was blacklisted :crying: I've already rooted it and I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to change my IMEI (I prefer to change it to one of my old phone imei that i own)
or least give me some info a about it and yes I'm already aware thats its illegal to change a IMEI but i feel like i been cheated and i really like this phone and i just want to be able to fully use it.
so if you know any if please let me know
Thanks!!!
I don't think there are any laws saying spoofing IMEI is illegal, at least in USA. someone can correct me.
you might want to check with your seller if he is willing to discuss the matter with you.

there are none. people who call out that its illegal, are wrong, at least for the US. changing IMEI's are really difficult with qualcomm devices unfortunately. you'd have to use QPST and even then it's a crapshoot. better off getting a refund
Probably try googling it. There should be a few websites out there dedicated to this.
Sent from my LG-H811 using XDA Free mobile app
Contact seller, confront him with the facts, request a refund, go to a local certified dealer and get a new one.
Another option is to buy another phone with a destroyed screen, usually listed as "parts" phone and pretty cheap. Then, you use the nice screen and other working parts from your current phone with the bad IMEI, but remove it's CPU/circuit board and replace them with those of the "parts" phone (that presumably has a good IMEI). So you usually come out ahead, because buying the bad IMEI phone and the parts phone together still costs less than buying one phone.
Anyway, it might be easier to study how to disassemble the phone and swap the motherboard/CPU (to give you a good IMEI), compared to trying to modify/spoof it, but I'm just guessing based on my experience on how easy it was to swap motherboards on an older phone (haven't tried disassembling the LG G4 yet).
According to the Ifixit teardown, the LG G4 looks super easy to swap motherboards:
https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/LG+G4+Teardown/42705
Seems you just take off the screws, then it opens right up for you to disengage the ribbon cables and pull out the motherboard

If all else fails and you can't get this to work on your network you can sell it on Ebay to recoup some of your money. As long as you list it truthfully as having a bad IMEI someone will still buy it from you. This has happened to me as well.
Did you ever find a solution? I am in the same situation, phone worked perfectly for months before they blacklisted it. I called Bell and they don't want the phone back, they obviously won't take it off the blacklist but don't want it back either and just said best of luck. I'm in Canada where it's apparently legal to change imei numbers. I have an old broken phone who's imei I'd like to use. Obviously getting a refund from the guy who scammed me isn't an option either. I see plenty of videos and ads for people who'll do it for me....sounds like a good way to get myself scammed even worse. We should just switch phones as yours will probably work in Canada and mine will work for you in the US. Lol
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to fix this? I'm willing to read instructions, educate myself and do the work. Someone here has the knowledge to help fix this...won't someone help?
Changing the imei is actually pretty simple as i had to do it on mine.

Please stop misinforming people. Changing IMEI is NEVER simple without the right tools. Having the right tools costs a LOT of money. If you work in a Service repair center, than you COULD say it is simple; but not even then there is no guarantee that it will work.

I stand corrected then.
But I still stand by my statement, though, that it is never a guarantee that it will work. And what seems easy and simple for you, can be complex for another.
In my 5+ years as a GSM service technician I learned that when dealing with IMEI, there is never a simple and unique solution. You are free to try, but the half of my customers were not simple people that simply had problems with their devices. They were people that tried to tinker and ended up with a expensive paperweight. E.G.: "I read something on a forum and wanted to try and flashed something and it doesn't start anymore".
Please don't misunderstand me, I don't discourage tinkering. I just encourage people to READ before they flash, just understand what they are doing. If they try to understand and fail, there are lots of others that can help.

You're a power user. Can the LG G5 keep up? Rate this thread to express how "healthy" the development scene is for the LG G5. A higher rating indicates available root methods, kernels, and custom ROMs.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
3/10
All Kernels and Roms are pointless.
Root is being with held by those who have found a way to bypass boot lock & 2 part boot.
So, poor overall experience.
Honestly miss my S5 because the subforum was much friendly and helpful
It May Improve
I voted 3 for this because of the current root situation. If root is attained, this will go up.
LG has officially opened up the bootloader for the European G5 H850 variant.
That's root and TWRP without any hacks needed!
More info here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/official-european-lg-g5-h850-bootloader-t3363040
Plus the T-Mobile G5 H830 has been spotted with root and TWRP as well - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zlieyd9CP7Q
Other variants may never get unlocked but that's promising for at least two G5 variants.
It's your choice to buy a bootloader locked device or not!

I agree with @autoprime.
And personally, I'm sick and tired of people begging. Especially those with less than 10 posts, are brand new users to XDA, and who have not contributed anything to the Android community ever. The Devs are NOT obligated by any means to share what they have achieved. If any of you bought this device simply because you wanted root, instead of buying the phone for its functionality, form, etc., then you are a fool. BE PATIENT! If it happens, it happens. Don't expect anything.
Rated 5 stars, because I got the phone for the phone, not for root. And I think it's a great device!

Huh. I remember seeing lots of excited, puppylike requests for root development, but often with offers to contribute financially. I agree though that begging, esp. from junior members, isn't helpful.
5 Stars all the way baby!!!!
This phone is great. No lag, no hassles....... I only have experienced 1 issue but I'm sure its a simple bug. The LG Keyboard crashes but reboots itself .
I believe that this phone is so great that all we have to do is be patient and we will be able to have root and unlock Bootloader along with great kernels ROMs and all the trimmings. It's only a matter of time.
i threw a 4.. wanted to throw a 2 actually.
i think there is some work to do in order to get internal storage decryption working in twrp.
hopefully some day we find a way to unlock this device without touching the fuse. to me it looks like its a bad idea to unlock my g5 for now.
i wonder if we should wait with installing updates untill someone comes up with some brilliant reverse engineering skills.
i wonder if such people would even care about the g5.
to me this is a pretty decent phone. i'm happy with its performance so far.
unless we are enforced to wait for upcoming android versions for more than 4 months after nexus devices got it i'll most likely keep it untouched.
i miss certain apps though.. titanium backup, xposed, … great stuff. at least i could manually type the secrets from my previous google authenticator backup in.
you can simply open the sqlite db from /data and grab the plain text secrets ouf of there.
Voted 2. The development SHOULD NOT focus only on the European (H850) variant. That is just completely UNFAIR. I have the Asian (H860N - dual sim) variant and devs and LG as well should give love to all G5 users with different variants.
It started off with lots of enthusiasm and the Team CodeFire YouTube video with TWRP definitely inspired confidence, but things are cooling down now unfortunately. I'll say a 3/5 because we know that TWRP and root CAN be obtained. But every week that passes with everything quiet makes the phone a less and less inviting development target.

My note 3 is far more efficient to my needs than any flagship device due to the fact I have total control of what goes on in my device. I currently have the LG G5 as a paper weight. In my opinion all smartphones need root access. Who wants a new computer without admin rights. Its ridiculous already. Don't let these big companies like verizon make you feel like this is how its suppose to be. So far they are winning the in terms of control, like Apple. This will be more common as times passes. Its up to the code breakers to bring the balance back to the force. Who wants a device where uncle sam can track your every move eventually. Root must be obtained not for the individual, but for the sake of digital freedom. Its more serious than people tend to realize!

First of all, I haven't tried it.. I save my photos on a 128GB card and 32GB is enough for my apps.
Anyway, if you are rooted (European):

Been using it for a few days.
Some notes:
Battery seems to be discharging faster (maybe something with some of my apps being moved to the SD Card?)
Apps cannot be migrated - around 70% it fails
Formatting the card back to portable storage WILL NOT move the apps back to internal first!
Other than these, I found no problems. LG must have started modding the adoptable storage system, and then decided to scrap it - it work completely differently on e.g. CM13.
