What do you mean by sluggish? I think Samsung Galaxy a50 is better in terms of build quality, display, "one UI", camera and, last but not the least, DEDICATED sd card slot.

And sometimes while multitasking the ui just lags a little
The gestures arent smooth enough
Everything could be refined more with software optimization i think

PUBG hdr graphics aren't fully supported by a50's processors and Mali g72. That can't be called as sluggish.

I know that hdr is available in the graphics settings but still, the support isn't perfect. It is a known thing that hdr graphics cause lags in a50.
Samsung has good brand value. When people ask which phone u have u can say Samsung but if u say poco phone the non tech people will say "pocco phone? What's that"
Lol it happened with me several times...
The highlight of a50 is the superb super amoled screen which is really good when playing games and watching movies.

Cons of Poco:
Old design.
No Dolby.
Smaller and IPS LCD display.
Hybrid slot.
No NFC.
Has got one major update so won't be supported much now.
Fake, so called stereo speakers (mi the lier).
Expandable is way too less than a50.
Miui has ads, it collects private info.
Has high SAR value (injurious to user's health).
I am seriously planning on getting the A50 tomorrow. Can someone comment on the bloatware? Many people say there's many preinstalled apps and pop up ads... I have a huawei and the only thing i can say is wtf if this is true
Bloatware is understandable, but forced popups?
and which of those bloatware apps can be uninstalled and which can't
Any input from owners would be appreciated

I sold my Poco and ordered this yesterday and would receive that in the next few days. W.r.t Bloatware, you can always uninstall them with the "pm uninstall" command imo. Pop up ads i am not sure as this is new to me but i guess, those would be ads from the bloatware that you install from the initial setup. If chosen wisely during the initial setup, you could always avoid them. All in all this is great device within the right budget for light to average users like me.

Yep. Good setup can relieve you of all the ads but be very very careful while setting it up. Still, I would suggest going through this video once, helped me too.

Depends on personal preference , if you want a better display and better selfie camera and want to compromise performance go for A50
If you want insane performance go for Poco F1
Anyways u should wait if u are planning to buy Poco F1 because Poco f2 is coming
I had to make the same decision and went with the A50 because my primary use case was reading and watching for which the AMOLED screen is indispensable. Also Samsung's support so far has been great as 2 updates have been rolled out since my purchase which have improved the camera, fingerprint reader performance to some extent while updating to the latest security patch. At the same time, Samsung's One UI is the best Android interface I have encountered till date.
The Poco F1 is only an option if you need the grunt to play games. It is heavier, uglier, cheaply built, has an issue-riddled screen and MIUI has generally been lagging behind in terms of design and usability for years now. As you can imagine, I don't game on the phone and use an iPhone for camera duties, so those were things that I didn't think about much but might be of significant consideration to others.

Apart from these, there are few other finer details people often overlook. Build Quality, Weight, Ease of Single Hand Use, Quality of components used etc. Xiaomi can for sure derive sales but can never compete with Samsung in quality.

Hey everyone,
After three years using the legendary Xperia X10, it's finally given out on me and died. Is this a good upgrade over that? Where I live, it is possible to get the LG G2 and the HTC One M7 for around the same price, but I have my reservations about buying them because they're old models.
Should I get this phone, or go for something else?

N3 Neo is definitely a big upgrade over Xperia X10 in all respects!
Now coming to ur point regarding the other two phones u mentioned.. I think among the 3 u should choose between N3 Neo & G2, now it depends on ur preferences which phone u do choose, both phones have their own advantages-
G2 over Neo:
- 1080p screen
- More powerful GPU if ure a hardcore gamer
- Handy size
- IPS display
- Great dev support
Neo over G2:
- Bigger screen if u like the extra real estate
- Note features & S-Pen
- No overheating issues
- Samsung has much better service support
- Better battery life
- Super Amoled screen
- Expandable storage & removable battery
Ure from Trivandrum so I don't think both the phones have nearly the same cost.. in fact G2 is much costlier!
Flipkart prices - 27.5K for Note 3 Neo & G2 (32gb) for 36K
buy wisely!
I never like phone with sealed battery (Though I am having iPhone, which was a wish to have always).

Thanks man. Actually, the prices of both phones are nearly the same, if you know dealers. The main problem with the Note 3 Neo seems to be the lack of developer support. Coming from the X10 (which had a HUGE developer base), the support on this forum seems to be lacking.
Is there a 4.4 update for the Neo?

Yeah.. local dealers may give u better deals.
If ure a flashaholic then this phone is not for u (atleast for now).
I used to be a flashaholic having the S2 which still has excellent dev support, but since I've bought this phone, my desire to root & modify have vanished.. the phone has exceptional battery life, smooth performance & a lot of neat features which I love. I don't plan to use aosp & cm roms cos this phone is a note & the S-Pen defines it!
Nowadays we get most of the new cool features through Xposed so no point about stock based custom roms.. but yeah it's about personal preference!
The KitKat update is due and we have still not recd it (u know sammy is slow with updates).. we'll get it shortly I guess..

Kitkat update is only avaialbe for korean variant of Note 3 neo at the moment . Rest should be updated I think .
If dev support is what you're looking for , DO NOT buy an exynos phone and esp. this one as it's not quite popular like the rest

What do you mean by this Xposed? What is it exactly? And as for flashing and developer support, I'm not too keen on those. The only reason I turned to the forums was because my old X10 had started to lag. I suppose the only reason I'll need to root this phone would be to remove some of the trashy apps made by Samsung that nobody uses, like S Voice and the like.

Yes I know, the amount of bloat Samsung dumps into the phone is painful, but u can disable most of it & completely remove it after rooting so that's the good part.
okay, now about Xposed, search for "Xposed framework" on google & visit addictivetips site which explains everything about Xposed. It's one of the greatest android root apps.

you get all the S-Pen features of the bigger brother in the neo, the features that have been stripped down are display (720p), RAM (2gb), processor (well, can't really call it less powerful), some other small things are display profiles, air gestures, camera but nothing as such which is a deal breaker. If u want the full Note 3 software suite experience at a much cheaper price, this phone is the one for u!

Yeah, I know the specs of the model . I wouldn't call the 720p display a letdown. Let's face it, in India, using a 1080p screen is quite hard, especially if you're unemployed and a student. And with this year's iteration of the Note, it'll be even more difficult to use it. Who the hell watches 2K videos anyway? Not to mention, unless the GPU in the next Note is the Adreno 420, it'll be underpowered like the G3. Seriously, manufacturers have gone completely retarded this year.

That's so true.. TBH I find the display really good (better than S4 in terms of colour reproduction), my previous daily driver was the GS2 which has a 217 ppi screen, so 267 ppi is a major jump!
I don't believe in the crazy spec jump we have with every iteration. I found FHD itself to be a stretch, but 2K is as of now useless.
I'm really happy with my phone, always had a dream to own a Note series device (they were always out of budget, I too am a student).. just a rare stutter is visible but the features completely outweighs that rare moment.

Even worse is the fact that the manufacturers apparently think that the S400 with cortex A7 cores is somehow better than the dual core Krait or the dual core A15 configuration. It's a big step back in terms of raw processing power. That's the only reason why I thought of this device. All the others have stupid S400 cores, including the HTC One mini 2 and the Galaxy S5 Mini (which are likely to priced above this one).
As for the display, my older phone was the X10, which had around 240ppi. I'm sure the 720p display will be a big boost

The hexa core configuration in this phone is excellent, no overheating (which is common with other exynos phones) and consistent performance. Seriously, I still don't know why the manufacturers don't use Cortex A15 dual cores, they are quite powerful. The minis nowadays are plain stupid, half the customers don't even know how they are being fooled, they just see the "Quad core" monicker and blindly buy much costlier phones. Just look at that phone G Pro lite, I mean seriously, 25K for that thing? ?
720p is fine, text too is quite sharp.

Hey there
If anyone has any questions about the phone, feel free to ask me. I was playing with it for roughly half an hour in the Razer AFK area and compared it side by side to my S8+.
afk area lol I love razers humor.
How was the screen color and brightness wise?
How were the speakers compared to the S8?
In hand feel?
Did it feel premium? Heavy?
Are you going to get one?
How was the software from what you got to see?
Overall impressions?
Thanks appreciate you taking the time to tell us
Why don't they have Verizon compatibility, or is there any plans to get it?

2. Root/bootloader unlock?

One member of staff had a thin, black case on it and honestly it felt very useless  I like the phone much better without any case, especially when there is no back glass to break.
It is super cool, smooth and responsive. I was going crazy when i saw it haha! It is seriously very cool. Although, most of the third party apps were locked to 60hz I could see that. Only the system apps and the dolby atmos app (I think) were in full 120hz.

Haha, I know right.
Screen colours were really good, although still not on OLED levels (still great lcd panel though). Brightness is the only thing that disappointed me about the screen, when I set the Razer phone to full brightness, it was the same brightness as when you set the S8+ to 30-40% brightness
Speakers are just nuts. No phone has speakers like that. Even though I could not hear it properly because there was a lot of people, screaming and music around, I could feel how the whole phone was vibrating only from the speakers. It is absolutely nuts, very loud, highs were very noticeable in the dolby atmos demo app and the bass is very good for phone speakers as well. They killed it in this regard lol.
I'm not a fan of the square-ish designs but it I liked this one, it feels very premium indeed. I have medium sized hands, it felt kinda big.
I really do want to get one, but I'm not sure yet. Price is very competitive, but I'm just so used to all the Samsung services (Samsung Pay, Health, Cloud, etc.) + I have a Gear S3 so I would lose a ton of features lol.
Software was smooth, imagine playing with the Pixel 2 but the screen is 120Hz (it's absolutely crazy smooth, I can't even believe it). I tried to lag it as much as I could but I just couldn't, there was not a single lag/stutter.
It's a great phone for sure and I was really hyped when I had it in my hands, but I'm not sure how I feel about the screen brightness and lack of any water-resistance rating. The camera performance was also very average - low light was bad, focusing was alright, but nowhere near the S8 focusing speed and details/closeups came up really good.

Same. I heard months ago, like in this article from Android Authority that AptX HD (as well as Hi-Res Bluetooth codecs like LDAC) come enabled with Android O via a Bluetooth codec menu.

How was the camera? I know they said they'd send some camera updates like 120Hz video capture, slow-motion capture, and portrait mode via OTA updates in the coming months as TechRadar stated.
However, I'd like to know about the camera quality performance?
I've seen some samples, but I'd like to know your first-hand experience.
I wanted to ask if anyone has heard of any further updates on when Samsung will finally enable 120Hz on QHD. If we can use this thread to post updates? Do you think they're gonna wait until after the Note 20 phones are announced/released? It would suck to have to wait that long. FHD+ is fine but we know it would be great to have these displays blasting all the way.

+1...update fix Green tint here today and all OK but i think May update is so Hot... [emoji28]

It will arrive when 25w charging will be enabled on S10 series phones as promised by Samsung last March.
Its a marketing gimmick.
Forget about it! It's not going to happen. If you want 120Hz on QHD you need a S21.
Every other Smartphone that support 120Hz or even 144Hz get released with that option.
WTF Samsung. You are the Panel maker and supplier to all of those company's and they manage to bring those feature at day one.
I'm telling y'all it's because of the Exynos 990. They can't enable it on SD variants and leave the Exynos users behind that would reveal and confirm that the Exynos is crap, and would result in complaints which Samsung is trying to avoid.
its not gonna happen mate - sorry !!!
that was just rumours spread around to make people buy the phone thinking they can get it later
but as you can see they have issues with [email protected] so no way they're going to release it for QHD
It's probably not going to happen perhaps due to battery concerns. Could possibly be ready Note 20 series.
Nevertheless it's a top phone when I consider overall phone factor.
I've reviewed oneplus 8 Pro oppo find x2 and initially I did notice the difference qhd and 120hz refresh rate however several days later I've come back to my s20 ultra.
One thing I would have advised samsung to screw trying to perfect million camera lens wasting millions on testing tweaking but utilize resources to focus on getting the screen right. Hit it out of the park.
Having said that I'm back to my s20 ultra now for several reasons I'll do a comparison of all three thread maybe.

There is a hardware limitation of 120hz display on s20. You can check anandtech website for the same. It will never get QHD 120. Wish they make it variable and use combination of 48,60,96,120 to improve battery. I am ok with 120hz FHD but I think due to this implementation we are unable to run many games on 120( till now) that runs fine on other devices.

It lacks MIPI interface.

I think the **** they should really receive first is the fact that the screen is green when 120hz is enabled... LOL
I've disabled 120hz since it's so noticeable, even with the latest updates. For now, I'd rather have 1440p than 120hz.

Think they're referring to the Exynos version. I'm in the US, SD so no green issues with mine. I've spent a few minutes trying to replicate it but couldn't see any issues. @Nightwind Hawk did you mean to say you disabled 120 because it's NOT so noticeable or that it is? If it is noticeable, why disable it?
Not to suggest that I don't believe that one source about this being a true hardware limitation on these phones but I'd prefer a more authoritative corroborating source to confirm this. In any case, it sucks that we don't have QHD with 120 but at the end of the day it doesn't kill the phone for me.
OP8 Pro has QHD @120 but screw using a phone again with that much of a damn curve on its display. I can't stand the curve on OP phones. If OP made the display on that 8 Pro FLAT, whoa...

I haven't noticed any green tint issues even with 120Hz at the moment I'm running mine in 96Hz so don't really notice any must be luck of the draw.
Guys this thread is about 120Hz @ QHD and not that green tint issue! There is a seperate thread about that issue... please discuss that issue over there.
Although who cares about this thread? Samsung isn't going to read this thread and decide to release a update.
Yeah can't work plainly due to exynos processors being unable to keep up with it.

Hi.
Just ordered S21fe 5g 256gb. With all the discounts and a 200£ trade in I paid £424 only. Which I consider a massive bargain. I traded in my old £0 value galaxy S6. Supper happy with the price.
Replacing my beloved s10e. I went for S21fe instead of s22 because of optical fingerprint reader instead of ultrasonic which allows me to use tempered glass on the screen and still be able to use the fp reader on S21fe. Also slightly bigger screen and bigger battery.
I just hope I won't regret my choice.
Any thoughts? Can anyone who already owns S21fe say whether they love it, hate it or have mixed relationships with it. Thanks
Hi!
As you, I had the S7 and then, the S10e.
2 weeks ago, I bought the S21 FE.... and I really love it!
I just miss the S10e's fingerprint! I find it more useful on the S10e !! When you grab the S10e, the fingerprint naturally falls under your thumb.... but except this, I prefer the S21 FE
I really don't understand why they don't place the fingerprint a few centimeters higher....

And like you I think the fingerprint reader on the s10e is as good as it gets. The best possible placement.
I'm not a fan of in screen fingerprint readers at all but I guess it's something I'll need to get used to. All new phones have it for reasons unknown.

It depends on what you look for in a phone nowadays.
I personally hate the 3X telephoto. It's slow, blurry and feels like it belongs in the year 2015. It's really sad because there are older phones out there that outperform it. But this might be Samsung's camera software. If I use GCam It's way better, but GCam is really unstable with the S21 FE Snap.
I love everything else about it: price, size, UI, flat screen with no curves, weight, color, look, performance and especially video mode. It has really smooth transition between lenses when filming, and white balance is well calibrated for all of them. I've been through a few phones lately and watched a ton of reviews but came to the conclusion that this is the best bang for the buck right now. The alternatives are chinese phones with poor software and poor updates or Iphone but I'm too scared to change the ecosystem ).

I've read about the telephoto camera issues which I hope will improve with software updates.
Everything else you mentioned is basically my kind of thing. Reasonable size, flat screen, performance, UI. It's all great. And I was considering different options, like Pixel 6 but it only comes with 128gb and apparently is buggy like hell. Also different Chinese options but like you I'm not only used to samsung's ecosystem but I also think it's the best best out there. And with good lock it's so customizable. I love it. I really wanted to go for S22 or even S22+ but my OCD would not allow me to buy it knowing that I won't be able to slap a piece of protective glass onto the screen because of the ultrasonic fingerprint reader. So S21fe it is I'm just hoping I get the Snapdragon version. I was trying to find some info whether it's a snapdragon or exynos in UK but couldn't find any confirmation. Apparently it's snapdragon but can also be exynos XD

Yeah, at least be sure you get a Snapdragon and everything should be perfectly fine.
Personally I'm now waiting for the S22 FE to see what's new. Changing phones is always a hard choice because usually I'm thinking that if my phone has an issue that I don't like, I can just buy a new one that doesn't have the same issue and I will be happy. But what actually happens is, I spend money on a new device, and although my initial problem is solved, I find ten other issues I hate. And it's like I'm starting this never ending journey of buying and testing phones which is stressful. And then I come to the conclusion that I should've kept the initial phone with it's silly issue. It's like breaking up with the love of your life for one stupid mistake and hooking up with another women that drives you insane. You end up regretting it )))

Haha I know exactly what you mean. That's how I feel breaking up with my S10e. Absolutely the best phone samsung has ever made imo. But it's getting old battery needs charging twice a day now. So new phone is needed but I really feel, well I know for sure that I'm going to miss that device.
Dammit it looks like it's going to be an exynos version. That totally just put me off. I'm now leaning towards keeping the s10e and returning the S21fe when it arrives today.
Shame but it is what it is.
Oh, sorry to hear that... If the S21 FE is an Exynos in your region this could mean that the regular S21 might be Snapdragon. I guess you could try that. I wanted to,but couldn't because in my region it's the exact opposite )

Unfortunately S21 is also exynos. Every samsung phone in UK is exynos. Balls
I watched a few comparison videos and I feel like that Exynos 2100 isn't all that bad really.
I couldn't say they are bad but I'm more interested in the camera quality and Exynos are notorious for having washed out images and videos with a lot of noise reduction applied. Also, one big difference is the constant performance of the processor. Snapdragon can keep up with the same task without loosing too much performance but Exynos cannot. Also, the fact that Samsung sells phones with the same name but with a totally different processor is also bugging me. If you are not that concerned about cameras then I guess the Exynos might be fine also.
I think this guy sums it best:

I don't play games on my phone so I'm not worried about heat or "constant performance" as it won't really affect me. And if I play any games they're usually non demanding puzzle kind of games so that's fine.
As for the photos yes I've seen some tests and exynos does slightly worse job when it comes to processing which is a bit annoying. Especially that in UK the exynos 256gb version is more expensive than snapdragon version in the US. £749 vs $749. 1:1 UK works out more expensive.
But I'm actually leaning towards keeping it anyway. For the price that I paid I can't really complain. £424 is almost half price so I think I can live with Exynos
It just arrived and is charging before I start transfering all my stuff from the S10e. Unfortunately this will be either later this evening or tomorrow morning because I'm on my way to work now. Either way I hope I won't be disappointed.
1 day with S21fe... I'm quite impressed. Apart from the fingerprint reader which will take time to get used to i don't have anything to complain about really. Screen size is great. Phone is fast and really nice to use.
So far so good.
Ha ha! As I anyway told you
Good for you happy to hear that, I hope you enjoy it until something better comes along.
I got my snapdragon s21 fe 2 weeks ago. It's a fantastic phone. Got it for 500 bucks with the galaxy watch 4 44mm included. Great game performance, fantastic main and uw cam. Dolby atmos and the 120hz amoled provide a fantastic media experience. One ui 4.1 is very intuitive and a welcome change after having a xiaomi phone. The only 2 gripes I have are the battery and the android 12 restrictions. The battery is average in everyday casual use, but intensive games drain it a bit too fast for my liking. And the android folder restrictions in android 12 are preventing me from modding games.

I'll probably keep it for at least 2 years which I always do with my every phone. Had s10e for 2.5yrs.
So 2 years is definitely enough time for something better to come out
I finally found a file manager that bypasses folder restrictions on this phone. It's called MT manager
Did you tried Total Commander?
What prompted the purchase of this phone for you? I'll go first
I liked that it has a 64 mega pixel camera although it was a little disappointing there was no ability to do any zoom on pictures. The better processor was another reason and the price for what I was getting I liked. Lastly screen size is decent. So far after 5 months use, I'm still pretty satisfied. How about you?

I chose it because it was literally the perfect phone. The Samsung One UI, The display, and everything about the phone. Personally it looks very good in black. Plus for the fact that they sold it for 3500 SEK. (approximately 350EUR)
I’ve been using it for the past 4 months and I have to say this phone is very, very good.

Anyways, It is pretty good. About 6-7h with 120hz and 7-8 with 60hz.
This is for pretty light use though.
before buying it, check that the mobile phone has the following requirements :
Root
work all app i use ( app bank etc... )
Snapdragon CPU only, more powerful than what I had before
the best it offered me as value for money was a52s, the audio jack is an addition that I didn't think necessary, but I wanted a smartphone with an under-screen imprint.
the other choice was the realme gt master edition but it could not be rooted safely and therefore the only choice at the moment on the market valid for me was the a52s
I bought it because:
Security updates: Samsung will offer security updates until 2025, four years after launch, and tends to provide timely updates. For work email/calendar my phone needs to have security updates no older than three months.
Price: Got it for £220 used off eBay. Price is right.
Removable microSD card: I insist on removable storage.
Headphone port: I insist on a 3.5mm headphone port.
Better than A53: I'd have gotten the A53 instead if it had been better, but it was not better. It was worse.
Optical Image Stabilization: I actually care very little about the camera. One thing I do care about is having OIS for picture stability especially in low light.
I came from a Motorola One Vision towards the end of its security update life. I actually liked that phone better (mostly because of a stock Android One feel, and I'm not a fan of an in-screen fingerprint reader, I like rear-mounted fingerprint readers, perfect for a finger when holding the phone), but it was only a matter of time before it stopped getting security updates. And Android One is practically dead.

I agree with you about the A53, comparison on gsmarena with this phone showed me the a53 would be a step backwards. Samsung missed the mark this time... And I got my A52S from my provider for 199€ with their discount. I only have to stay a customer for 2 years but that no problem for me.

With recorded pictures it's pretty easy to do zoom with Samsung Gallery (not sure this is the real name of the app) and in the Camera app you can zoom by 10x and you also have a macro option... ^^
Otherwise I got the A51 phone before but it was not compatible with 700MHz bandwidth used mostly by a single French carrier : Free Mobile and I'm changing of carriers almost every year depending on the promotion...
In France we have the lowest price for mobile or fiber internet subscriptions...

For me 2 things matter in this acquisition . Brand and price . First I was disappointed regarding some punctual things compared to other new phone I bought also (OnePlus Nord 2) but after A 12 and One UI 4.1 update , A52s was improved and now I'm some kind pleased of it . Finnaly , I'm going to sell it after a short while ...

Overall I'm amazed my S5 survived for almost 8 years 5 of which with me (and I did literally everything that could be done to it xd). She dropped it and this time the screen turned white with some small colored dots on it and the phone bootloops. It's time to let it go, was a great phone these almost 8 years

My condolences.
I own a Galaxy S4 too. Quite one of the best phones and mine died too....
I might try again to revive it in the future as the oldschool smartphone.
I was able to revive it temporalily couple years ago with a hairdryer blowing hot air on the mobo and made it work for a while and backed everything up. True story
My Poco X3's camera performance annoyed me beyond belief, so I got the A52s as the best all rounder, and didn't want to spend more money than needed.
Fortunately, my financials improved so I might just ditch it for the S23 Ultra when it's out.
