Wierd touch problem. Please help! - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

My z2 plus started having ghost touches on the bottom right part of the screen.
The touches are inconsistent. At one point everything is going well and suddenly the phone becomes unresponsive and anything that is at the bottom right corner gets pressed.
This goes on for a second or so and then either everything gets back to normal or the phone goes berserk for 10-15 seconds. And then there could be several hours before this happens again or just a minute.
This is happening also in TWRP.
Can someone point me in the right direction???

No. I hadn't replaced it before or after the issue.
I actually just wanted to give it some more time, because today is just the second day, but the issue was fixed by following this post:

I had the same. I used a piezoelectric of a lighter to give static shocks to the screen while touching it with the other finger. It worked.

Help my phone is dying!!!

I got my hermes from my friend, (HTC X01HT), she didnt want it because she dropped it and the ringer didnt work. it had only gotten unplugged, so i opened it, plugged it in, and had an awesome phone.
I dont think this is normal, but from the time she gave it to me, the screen made an awful highpitched ringing noise, (very uni-directional, it was weird).
Anyways...
now, the screen is just white. for a little while i could get the screen back, just by opening and closing the slider and hitting the power button a couple times.
Sometimes the today would display, then it would jarble up a little bit then fade to white, but i cant even get it to do that anymore.
Anyone else seen this issue? i'd hate to get rid of a perfectly awesome phone.
Thanks!
(also, if someone could post a picture of the device locked screen, where you have to enter a PIN to use the phone, that would be great, im trying to get into the phone with activesync, but its locked, and i dont know where to push the buttons.)
thanks!
~Mix3d
Looks like the screen is unplugged, really. Maybe you need to disassemble further, like http://www.pdacenter.ru/razborka/razbor_hermes/ shows?
keep in mind, it worked fine for almost three weeks before the screen issue started... but i will try that when i get my hands on a small flathead again.
There's a whitescreen & D-Pad failure issue that can be caused by many things, including DROPPING the phone.
I wrote a guide about it which seems to be quite successful for many people.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321163
so after trying a hard-reset, (which somehow displayed on teh screen), and clicking no, i was able to get the screen back... only this time with the moved screen problem, wrapping around at the top about 1mm.... and the buttons didnt work.
i tried your guide, but now im stuck at the white screen again... :/

screen goes crazy when browsing.

Ever since my phone came back from repair my touchscreen has been going crazy when I try browse through the internet. It starts typing on its on, selecting random links moving the page up and down and so on. Does anyone know what the issue could be? Its perfectly fine on everyting else only the browser and sometimes facebook app.
I contacted sony and they said send us the phone and we will update it but I can do that myself and dont wat to be without phone for another week.
Does it happen when charger (wall/USB) is plugged in? Few times when I had just my iPhone 4 wall adapter around I tried to use it with Arc, it did charge the phone but screen went totally crazy just like yours but it was everywhere not just the browser. Using the shipped adapter/cable theres no problem.
No phone is not plugged in. Its very starnge cause phone works perfectly but as soon as I want to browse the internet the screen starts acting up.
Just been playing around and the phone is completely fine wen its charging or the usb is connected. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I cant send it to sony since its bootloader unlocked.
I need a original wall adpter, I lose it

I sometimes get a similar problem, but it's happening everywhere, not only in the browser. Very annoying, especially on the homescreen... it seems just to think someones touching it here and there all the time and all going mad with this. ^^
However, I can always solve it by turning the screen off and on again.

I had exactly the same with my previous arc, now it seems the problem is gone but it's only a week i broke the last one but my operator change it. Always had to turn the screen on and off..
The only problem and it's really often and annoying is that the bar at the top of the browser stop to load at the middle and never finish to load with blank page, i press cancel and then refresh and in less than 1 secondes i'm on the page like everything was loaded up but not the graphic part....
I sent my phone back to repair, hopefully they fix it and dont find out that my bootloader was unlocked before.
I believe that is from heat... I get that problem three times.. Just screen off and on.. And its fine.
i have turned screen off and on hundreds of times and still same. I think its something to do with the usb connector since it works fine when connected. Guess ill find out tomorrow.
I have this error a lot, the screen reads "ghost touches" sometimes, it receives constant input at certain part of the screen. sometimes locking and unlock the phone doesnt help, need to reboot.
There's problem with the accuracy of touches near the edges of the screen as well, touches NEAR the edge are received as input AT the edge, this makes it extremely hard to operate the phone.
If you don't understand what I'm saying, go play "Cut the Rope" and try to tap the restart button at the corner, it's freaking hard to get it.
I have visited the SE service center in Singapore, the staff says that there is no problem with the screen, but when i test all the display sets in shops, all has the same issue, so all have the same problem = no problem..
I never had that problem with the screen before so I dont think everyone phone has this issue.

Yes and on CM11 it's worst I can't even use the phone random touches everywhere I bought my phone unlocked so no warranty and you imagine the pain of replacing that screen..
Bumping the thread cause I'm having the same issue.
Top of the touchscreen went dead. Basically overnight. Factory reset and RUU back to factory did not help. The deadspot happened overnight whilst the phone was charging (if that helps). The actual screen works fine, but does not respond to touch.
Any ideas?

Does not respond to touch ? Hows that possible, unless the digitizer dies ! ? Looks like your overnight charging heated up the device to an extent where the digitizer died. Why don't you send it in for a repair ?
Just the top half inch is not responding to touch. And the device has never gotten hot when charging.
I guess I will have to take it in to Sprint.

Found this post while looking for a resolution to wifes pbone doing this. She is full stock never rooted. Anyone know of any fix short of repair?
Only resolve I've found it getting the screen replaced. Short of physical damage to the screen, the dead spot is an actual defect.

That's True! I have same problem with my HTC Desire 616. And slowly, it is spreading downward on the rest of the screen. Its better to get it replaced now than waiting for whole screen to go blank and having to attach external Keyboard!
This just happened to my m8... happened in the middle of the day all of a sudden. Wasn't playing with it, just set it down at one point and the next time I picked it up to check notifications I couldn't pull down the shade.
Have unrooted mine and sent to Service Centre for Repair. Sadly, they take a minimum of 10-15 days to return as they are mostly short pf parts.
This has just happened to me too.
I suspect a software problem as I can use the entire screen to scroll up and down when I start the scroll from elsewhere on the screen (such as putting my finger in the middle and then slowly moving up to the top, the scroll works without issue.
The same applies to the notifications shade which again works puling it down from anywhere on the screen.
However, no single tap functions work in that top half an inch. I can move icons to it on the home screen, but once I let go they are stuck there, can not be moved back. any icon in that zone won't tap. When in the system menu I can only go back with the softkey, not any back button at the top.
In any app this zone is also dead so no more can I use web browsers as I can't click into the address bar or open bookmarks.
This has happened over night last night. Really don't want to perform a hard reset but it's looking like it might be my next option.
edit - I can also confirm I have full touch functionality when the notification bar is down, so I can dismiss them and open system settings if I like with the square icon at the top.

I've just managed to resolve this not 2 mins since writing my post above. A phone shutdown and/or restart didn't help, but here's what did:
press and hold the volume up and power button for 10 seconds. This apparently seems to restart the phone differently to using the normal power button and choosing one of the options.
Phone is now fully working again. Hit the thanks meter if it works for you too!
I'm having the same issue as the user in the first post picture, any help except replacing the whole screen?
having the same issue.. was anyone able to fix it?

hi!! just cheking to see if you were able to fix it, I am having the same issue
Same problem here, touchscreen just don't work at the top screen, can't even pull the notification tab. Problem seemed to appear overnight, while the phone was unplugged over my desk. I do believe it have something to do with me using the phone moments earlier on my bed, while I was resting. Had the phone on my ear, against the bed (yeah, no earplugs at the time) so I basically spent some time sleeping over it and now touchscreen seems unresponsive at the top. Probably the only fix for this is replacing your touchscreen for a new one. Btw, tried to restart by pressing the volume up and power button, but didn't work.
Damn, same thing happened to mine. About 7 days ago it started becoming really finicky and now know the top 2- 3 cm is unsable. It seems like it's working it's way down :/
Same problem here. But top screen touch sensitivity has degraded in a few days from not very responsive to totally unresponsive. Also noticed a problem with the color on the display. The yellow/orange trace (contained in the red circle) is not a reflection, but a lcd probem.
Bump for reporting the same problem here. WTF is going on with the overnight dying of the top portion of the digitizer? I cannot access the notification panel, and I used Screen Touch Test which confirmed the problem.
There is an upper strip which does not respond to touches, except for some pixels on the right side of the strip.
Anyone managed to fix without replacing the digitizer?

[Q] Sometimes my touchscreen stops working

I have had my Moto 360 for just over a week. For the second time the touchscreen stopped functioning. First time I resolved by turning it off (very long press hardware button) then left overnight and it was fine in the morning. Turning it off and back on again didn't help. Couldn't factory reset because no touchscreen.
Second time is now.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any clues how to resolve?
Thanks.
Edit: After left off for a while (instant off and on doesn't work) it is fine now. Anyone have any clues or better suggestions how to fix?

Yes mine has done it two or three times since the last OTA update, nothing I did to the screen had an effect, had to reboot the watch to recover.

Mine doesn't recover immediately on a reboot but it is nice to know I'm not alone in the problem. It's better to know that you've only had this problem since the OTA. That means it can be fixed in software. Thanks.
Same here
Lost "touch" today on mine. Had the 360 for about 4 weeks and not seen the problem until now. Wasn't even sure how to turn it off until I saw "very long press" - thanks!
Turning mine back on straight away was fine so it was just a turn it off and back on thing. Frustrating, but I'm glad it's a software bug rather a touch screen fault, that would be a real pain. Hopefully, if it's a bug it will be fixed.
i think.....
I think this happens when the moto 360 is not set on your wrist
Ddoes anyone solve this issue ? My new moto 360 touch screen doesnt work at all. So i can choose any language in initial setup
This problem Occurs when no static energy is given to the case of the moto360. As soo'n as You touch The Iron ring The touch Will work. Release it and it Will stop working. Ik think The touch screen works rather like a conductive layer between the back of the watch and the screen it self in which the skin gives the energy needed to control the screen. When the back of the watch isn't connected to skin the touchscreen completely stops working.
In video you see what happens
https://youtu.be/KpQ-dqWYO6s
Mine did this too, however I broke my screen ordered a replacement and haven't had the issue since. When mine quite working if I triple pressed the power button it lock the screen then pressing the power button it would turn on and work though. Sometimes it wouldn't come right back on like it froze or something.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
I've been having this problem too, it's more like my weekend watch but last week i noticed that it wasn't responding and i thought it could be a RAM issue. I've done multiple reboots and it doesn't work.
There was only an occasion where i left it overnight till it almost drained completely and it worked again, and then it started freezing again.

D855 HW Reset and bootloop

Hello,
So here's my problem: After a while of use my G3 crashes at random (I haven't found the trigger yet) and bootloops for a while untill it works again. During bootloop it will just freeze, crash, and reboot again. This happens during the splash screen, the boot animation and even on the lockscreen. After it has done this for a while it works fine for about an hour.
Also during this bootloop phase, if I try to go into TWRP I usually get the Demigod crash handler screen with the error "HW Reset". This happens before the TWRP splash screen or a few seconds into having it booted, however not always so it might not be related.
Something probably unrelated I have noticed is lag. I'm running a fairly fresh install of crDroid but sometimes it's just really slow. Also TWRP seems to hang sometimes on the main screen for a few seconds before I can press any buttons, which hasn't happened before untill recently.
I have 2 batteries and try to switch between them but no luck. Charging/not charging seems to not be helping either. Also I did the paper on the camera connector trick to fix the flickering screen, and while I was there I also put paper on the other connectors that looked the same (screen connector and flash I assume), which fixed that issue.

Thanks! I'll try that soon. But I should heat the chip on both sides? And if I'm using a hairdryer wouldn't it be terribly inaccurate and also melt the solding iron of other components?
no, but you have to open the phone and heat on one side, i.e. the lcd side is so black in the middle it is flash and cpu, you do not have to do it on the side of the camera but i prefer both of them to be sure. safe operation only you have to heat and the plate must lie down horizontally and still, then wait 15 minutes and on the other hand
