Witch charger you tried?

I think i have a bigger problem...
Is not charger or cable the problem, i have no data connection through usb cable! (i've tried also other cables that work perfecly on other phones)
When i connect my phone to pc G7 says charging, my computer don't see anything! (also in device manager no new or unknown device, nothing)

Maybe a defective USB port. Try returning the phone to repair it

I returning my phone to repair, he come back with a new board, they have open the phone
now my question is: It Is Always waterproof?

If it is the official one in theory they have to return your phone as it was new, this means that it has to be also waterproof. This was what LG Spain told me when I asked about waterproofness after a repair.

It isn't waterproof... water inside camera but the paper in the sim slot is white
and i think they have (or water?) broke the microphone (the down microphone) because it is quite low volume and low quality recording from the recorder audio on that side
Water was come in but stiker is still white is the warranty valid?

Read carefully the phone description.

[Q] G2 Won't Charge

My G2 didn't charge last night. I tried multiple chargers, batteries, wall sockets, and even a USB connection to my laptop. The cables fit snugly into the micro USB port on the unit. When I plug it, nothing happens. no charging indicator. T-Mobile tech support told me to buy a new phone.
Is there anything else I can try?
UPDATE: Tried a master reset but no change. Is it a hardware issue with the port?
Broken micro usb port
That's my fear. Time to figure out a replacement.
A simelar problem
Hi there, i think i have the same problem.
Only one thing is different. When i putt it on the charger the charging indicator blinks for 3 times and thats is. Does anyone has a idee?
Also the boot doesnt work(volume - and the power button)

Yes, you can try to repair the phone replacing charging controller. At official HTC Service repair cost will probably be equal to buying mainboard from ebay or aliexpress.com - around $80-95. Individual (non-certified) service men will do that for $25-30, but risk of killing the phone in this case is pretty high. But in the situation described above there's nothing to loose.
Another solution: in case your phone is working well with pre-charged battery you can buy one masterpiece by chineese manufacturers - universal charger or charger like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BMHD6LA/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Try with another battery (pre-charged). If the phone boots up normally and works well - see my previous post.
Its most likely a 3 dollar USB port that probably needs replacing, have a look in there and see if there is any visible damage as in broken away contacts.
If you want to replace it yourself its not terrible to do if your OK at soldering, had to do this to a few phones and only once did I fail, but then I don't consider my self an expert at fine soldering.

charging problem - dock ?!

Hi,
Last few days i noticed that my Note2 shows error. when i plug it on charger it keeps saying "dock is connected", playing dock sound, and showing docking welcome screen (page buddy). This is specially wierd, because i disabled docking sound and welcome page in settings. But at the moment its on charges and it constantly shows dock connected/disconnesced, turn on my screen automatically, etc. I am not charging it via laptop with usb.
I use stock rooted rom. 4.1.2
Anybody had similar experience? Could this be software or hardware issue?
Thank you.
i now tried charging it with usb from laptop, again constantly showing dock is connected, playing sound, turning on my screen,...
I have the exact same problem since 2-3 days now. I think its maybe the charger port the problem... =/
I tried factory reset, but problem is still there.and wierd thing happened, phone wasnt connected on charger i was walking on street and heard dock sound....it showed dock is connected :/
Is there any way to turn off dock option? I have stock rom 4.1.2 but its rooted...

yes you can change the charging port flex board. I did it thinking I had busted my port but I had actually busted my cable. I get the same message as you when I use a much shorter micro USB cable. Try using the cable that came with your phone and see if that makes a difference.
anyway I got mine off ebay, $18 inc shipping, they even gave a prying tool and a screwdriver. its a very very easy process to change the charger port.
I tried posting a link but im not allowed to, so go to ebay type "note2 charging port" and you will get heaps of results.
goodluck
I experienced the same Problem and since my note 2 is in warranty I went to service centre and got usb port (complete assembly) changed. No problem now.

[Q] Zenfone 2 not charging AT ALL. Now it's dead.

Hi. I got the Zenfone 2 about a month ago and hadn't had any problems with the battery until today.
I had to transfer files from the phone to the office's PC (at home I use bluetooth to transfer files so I never needed to connect it before).
This PC didn't have bluetooth, so I plugged in the phone through my USB cable to use Asus PC Link.
When the 'turn USB Debugging Mode ON' message appeared, I pressed 'Yes'.
The PC didn't recognize the phone, so eventually I disconnected it again and sent the files using WeTransfer (app which I then deleted).
After an hour or so I connected my phone to a portable charger, and the charging icon and light lit up. I realized after a while that it wasn't actually charging, cause the battery percentage had in fact gone down instead of up.
I didn't worry at the time, but as the day went on I tried different ways of charging it (another person's cable, connecting it to the PC, etc) and the battery kept draining.
When I got home it was at about 10% and I was hysterical, so I connected it with the standard charger that came with the phone, but it didn't charge either. (Though, at ALL times now, it kept showing the 'charging' icon, even when not plugged in).
Then, at about 4% it turned off, I think to avoid running out of battery completely.
I couldn't figure out what the hell happened, but then I thought: COULD IT BE that turning on the USB Debugging Mode made the USB stop working for charging the phone?
So I decided to turn the phone on and turn USB Debugging Mode off ASAP, but now it wouldn't turn on anymore and the 'empty battery' icon appeared.
Soooo, I have a phone with an empty, non-removable battery and I can't even turn it on to fix (what I THINK is, and I could be wrong) the problem. At times, when I plug it in, it has a little plus + sign beside the battery, but it still doesn't charge.
Does anyone know what the problem might be and how I could solve it?
What can I do? Besides CRYING A LOT.
Have you tried another cable (perhaps a friend's that you can verify works) and checked the phone USB port for debris?

I tried two other cables and it didn't work, but I'll keep trying. The USB port seems to be clean. I'll look at it some more, though, with a strong flashlight, see what I can find. Thanks.

I bought the 2gb RAM version, which doesn't come with the quick charger, but I just charged it with the normal charger that came with the phone. I didn't need fast charging. It still isn't working, so I'm gonna send it for RMA service this week. I have a question about that: do I need to send the original box with all its contents or just the phone, usb cable and charger? Thanks.
Connect it to a computer with an USB cable while the phone is off. See if it charges that way. If it does, don't turn it on while the charge % is low.

Just so you know, activating the USB debugging mode cannot cause your battery issue.
You mentioned that you saw the charging icon being displayed while the cable was unplugged. This makes me think you may have bent/damaged the usb charging socket and some pins inside are doing contact when they aren't supposed to, but I'm not sure since I cannot see your phone.
If the charging port is not damaged, then it's a battery problem. In some cases it can be fixed by physically disconnecting and reconnecting the battery from the motherboard. Beware, this is not easy and if you are not careful you can damage your phone. Also I don't know if this will void your warranty. What you have to do, is disassemble your phone until you have access to the battery, then unplug the battery, wait 1 minute, connect it again and put all pieces back where they belong. This might have a 50% chance of solving your issue.
Disassembly guide: http://www.myfixguide.com/manual/asus-zenfone-2-teardown/ (Do all steps until they remove the battery).
If the usb/charging port isn't damaged, and reconnecting the battery doesn't solve the issue, then your battery is dead, and you have to contact ASUS to get your phone replaced.
Dear Blasterkat101,
Please do not send in original packaging as it may not be returned. For power related issues we recommend sending in power adapter and USB cable with unit. If this is a USA/Canada model Zenfone 2 and you would like me to assist with an RMA, please send a private message to [email protected] with case # N150721539 in the subject line.
Sincerely,
Frank

Thank you so much for answering! It made everything clearer. I was about to dissasemble the phone, but I was afraid I'd void my warranty or leave it in an even worse state than before, so yesterday I sent it for RMA and I'll see if they can fix it. If they can't find problems with it or tell me they can't fix it, I'll have to choose between returning it or keeping it and trying to fix it by myself (but at this time getting my money back would be pretty useful, so..).
Nevertheless, your answer was very useful and so I thank you! If at any time I have the need to dissasemble my Zenfone again I will be able to do it

I've got an RMA question if you can help. Is there any way to not have to pay the $25 for the RMA? I've got a 3 week old phone and tech support wants me to pay $25 for the process. That seems like a steep price to address a problem with the phone that isn't my fault.
Dan
On a sidenote, never use a cheap powerbank as I had charging issues with another brand phone and it eventually died. Battery charge would jump from 40 to 100. I learned my lesson to only use same brand powerbank/chargers or any quality QuickCharge certified accessories from other brands like LG, Samsung etc
I have the exact same problem. Has anyone been able to fix this or the only solution is to send it to ASUS? My phone is only 45 days old!!!!!

Apologize for the delayed response. Unfortunately the $25 is the processing fee for an advance replacement. If you would like to send in for warranty service there is no charge to you. For more details with advance replacement please see http://www.asus.com/us/support/Article/744

charging
Hi I'm in Mexico and bought an ASUS_Z00AD in Hong Kong, I think is the WW version, I have problems trying to charge the phone, it only charges with the charger that came with the phone (is not the one with 2 A is the 1.35A) , I have tried to charge with two different power banks and even when the light turns to orange and shows the battery icon charging it doesn't charge, the same happened if I try to charge with my computer.
The other day i let the phone completely discharge and took me very long time to power on again.
What can I do
regards

Quick Charge and PC connection stopped working

I was on a vacation and accidentally quick charging stopped working there. I had QC 2.0 charger from Samsung with me and I was using it for months without any issues before, but the phone just stopped charging with this charger. It often shows it starts charging when connecting it, but almost immediately the charging disappears. Other phone that doesn't support QC works fine with this Samsung charger and my G4 can be charged with a normal non-QC charger fine too.
I thought it is Samsung charger what broke, but I returned home and tried G4 with Chinese QC2 charger that worked before, although now it charges my G4 (unlike Samsung charger), but only at 5V voltage, it doesn't switch to 9V. So it seems something happened with the phone what caused that QC stopped working. I tried other cables and batteries without any change..
Do you have any idea what might happened or how to fix it? I have v29a Nougat with Kesseras kernel. Wiping data partition with cache&dalvik didn't help.
EDIT: so it seems it is not only QuickCharge, but also cable connection to my PC doesn't work - either the phone doesn't appear in the device manager at all, or sometimes it appears as unknown device. It only charges from the PC. Is something wrong with my USB connector in the phone?

Question Phone charging, but it isnt

I think i just ****ed my phone with a simple USB. I wanted to stream to pc so i plugged a usb c into my device and into my pc, then i noticed it wasnt detecting on redmagic app so i unplugged, now my battery status is in green and it has a white lightning bolt by it, and thinks it is charging when it isnt. Says charging 45 days left, accubattery has stupid high voltage, and rebooting doesnt fix it. Do i need to send it back for warranty or something? never had issues with default charger, i just used this ****ing usb c for streaming and now my **** is broken if i shut off the phone it brings itself back and before unlock shows the charging symbol in the middle. Please can anyone help me ill take any suggestions
Maybe the charger is the problem.
Always check the charger.

Maybe the port got damaged? Try to clean it first if possible using an ear swab dipped in rubbing alcohol with the device turned off and let it dry.
If it's a damaged port, may need to be repaired.
If yes, do a factory reset.

Do you understand what power surges are or what improperly plugging in a cable can do to a port of a mobile device?
For example: Too much or too low voltage can damage a port to the point the device will think something is there, when it isn't. The same goes for damaging the pins when you plug the charger in.

my friend was saying something similar, but was originally going more towards "android got drunk, reset"
but sadly that didn't work. So im assuming plugging in a usb-c to my phone to my pc literally ****ed my port/battery. I didn't SHOVE it in, i plugged it in as i would my normal charger.
if voltage is the case, i find it very unfair they don't disclose this in their streaming app, it simply says to use a usb-c and that is what i did, now im paying for trying to use a feature of a device i paid for.
already shot an email to support, and have a backup phone in the meantime.
appreciate your response, backing up one of the theories of why its now screwed.

"stuff" happens, it's unfortunate but technology is known to go bad randomly without explanation. Best to get it repaired if you still have warranty. Otherwise, upgrade the phone to something newer. It's just bad luck.

Did you try the rubbing alcohol cleaning? I had something similar with an ipad, the USB c cable broke a couple of the female port and it ended up screwing the whole thing, as much as I want to advice anything, it ain't a software issue but a hardware one, the only option I see it's cleaning the port and trying to "scrap" any debris that might been left by the other cable, If that doesn't work, then yes, use your warranty asap

i didn't even think of that, but if i were to do that, wouldn't they then use that as an argument of why it stopped working? "oh well you put cleaning alcohol in the port, of course its gonna break idiot" etc
i have some of https://www.amazon.com/CRC-05101-QD...prefix=crc+aq+elecronic+cleane,aps,104&sr=8-2
that, i used it before on electronics, it says its safe for electronics and i used it to clean my weed pens before, but i really dont wanna try to clean it if it can be used against me later. It also doesn't APPEAR like anything is on the connector, but who knows right. I just dont wanna try to clean it, then have them blame me and refuse warranty because i tried to fix it, even amazon said with what i said, the device is defective, so idk maybe i will try

i dont think port is damaged, i think voltage from my pc to phone was so high/low that it totally ****ed the battery or port.
once again, all i did was take a USB-C CORD and PLUG IT INTO MY DEVICE, took the other end and plugged into USB, i see nubia app doesnt see phone, unplug it, and ****ed.
has to be electrical, nothing else makes sense for what i did, the only cord they give you out of the box is a 65w usb-c to usb-c, had i a proper cord from usb-a to usb-c i wouldnt be in this situation

Given the fact there's no way to change the charging method/wattage/voltage in the system, i feel they should at least specify what TYPE of usb-c cord to use, because im just a normal user who wanted to stream to pc, and all because i simply did what they said, I'm out of a phone. Ridiculous.
im convinced the voltage of device + too high/low voltage of port, screwed the battery up, and now it thinks its always charging, and says 45 days left till full charge, does this not sound like a problem from electricity? i did NOTHING ELSE, this is the dumbest thing i've ever had to deal with, all because i plugged in my phone to pc
