Notification Issue - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Questions & Answers

Since I've gotten the pie update I have an issue with the notifications. I often don't receive them at all or just when I unlock the phone. I've already checked background activity and turned all battery saving options off. It does not happen Everytime but often and is very annoying. Anyone else have the same problem or a solution?

Same problem here and the phone has 2 days

Random shutdown/loss of settings

Hey guys,
I've had my phone for over a year now, and randomly it died while at around 30% and when it turned back on, I lost my keyboard settings as well as Wi-Fi networks and vibrate on press feedback.
I attached my battery screenshot and it's weird. Forgive the f.lux that changes the screen color
Does anyone know what could have caused this? TIA
I had exactly the same problem with my m8 which was 2 years old.....I did not manage to fix it.... That was the reason i bought 10

When this happened to me, it turned out to be battery degradation was the cause. Only option was to send in for repair to have the battery replaced. No amount of trying to calibrate the battery helped.
I'd suggest sending it for a warranty repair, seems to be the only option. The reason your settings are resetting themselves is because of the sudden shutdown caused by the battery shutting down the system instantly, so it's unable to save data correctly.
Same, my old m8 would do this every time battery died completely

Razer phone not Deep sleeping according to AccuBattery discharge tests!

Razer phone not Deep sleeping according to AccuBattery discharge tests!
I have crap battery life when the phone is not in use. Loosing about 7% an hour with screen off and sleeping.
Wifi on, mobile data off, bluetooth off and nfc. So whats causing the drain with battery?
:edit (Plus phone set to 60fps and battery saving with all apps. )
I see no signs of this device actually deep sleeping. I have no apps that cause this either so whats the deal?
Do any other users notice this issue?
Also Whats with the rapid charge? The phone charges to about 25% rapid charge then drops to a low charge that drops slowly until 100% is reached. This takes fully charging to around 1 hour 20 minutes, That is not rapid charging! You can also see this yourself with accubattery charge monitoring. Have others noticed these issues?
I've just noticed the same issue today. Yesterday when I went to sleep, I left my phone around 65% and when I woke up it had 30%.
Could that be fixed when they release Oreo update? I'm kinda worried about it :/

I always use accubattery and it shows me that 70% of my screen off time is spent in deep sleep.. Dont know what to tell you guys but it's gotta be something you installed.. Phone runs fine and sleeps like it should

It does say the time the phone went into deep sleep.
But I keep thinking that it's draining more battery than it should when the screen off.
I just have the apps that were already installed, plus a couple of games

OK I found the issue that cause the Razer not deep sleeping. The Theme store that is pre-installed to the phone was keeping the phone from deep sleeping. Disable the Razer Theme app from app settings. You can re-enable it afterwards and the phone will deep sleep fine after. This caused me several issues regarding battery life.
I also checked my sons Razer and even though his was deep sleeping Disabling and re enabling the Razer Theme app made the phone deep sleep better with less wake-ups,
I would suggest everyone either disables the Razer theme store app or at least disables and re-enable the app to get better deep sleep.
I was loosing 7% an hour because of this app issue. Try it you will see a great improvement in screen off time.
Disable the Razer theme store completely if you get poor battery drain with screen off. After further testing The Theme store app is causing the issue and after re-enabling it the drain came back about 3 hours later. I suggest to keep the Theme store disabled until you need it. This has sorted my never sleeping issue and stopped the 7% per hour battery drain in standby.

Great that's confirmed the issue is the Theme store app causing the phone not to deep sleep. Glad it worked for you. :0-)
Strangely enough my Accubattery says my phone is in deep sleep 90%+ of screen off-time yet I'm also getting the same 7-10%/h drain with the screen off. Will be disabling theme store just in case that really is the problem
Yes there is a problem I spoke to razer support. I told them of the issue and that it was razer theme store causing the phone not to sleep. The support guy had me talk to the engineering team who were to say the least extremely pleased that I found what had been causing the issue. According to the engineering team they have been looking for the cause of this issue for last couple of months. They swore that they would fix the no deep sleep issue in the app in the next update. Even said they would send me a spare charger as a thank you for finding the problem. They also said that orio would release by the end of march but no sign of that yet. It's seems a strange problem that is not effecting all razer phones.
Would be nice to know who has factory reset after doing the last update and who hasn't.
I have not factory reset but my phone was already updated straight out of the box. Have other updated and factory reset?

I have factory reset and found out my personal problem was WiFi. After changing from 5GHz to 2.4Ghz my drain is back to around 0.8 an hour. Nearly 0 if I turn WiFi off completely but im still doing testing. It's strange though as all my tests have been next to the router so I shouldnt be getting excessive drain from poor signal
Im unsure if this is releated and put the app on my phone to just check as im a man who likes stats. I have noticed that when relaxing with the phone on charge the screen will randomly light up with no notification to trigger this happening.
My Phones just laying there on charge and the screen will light up still locked with no notifications and a few seconds later it will turn off the screen again its bugging me as im not seeing a reason to why this is happening.

I believe that i factory wiped mine using the software options within the OS as part of an issue im having wth the netflix app crashing i cant say that ive seen a battery dip as other have done above but charging my phone over night to 100% i only see it dip when im watching youtube or actually using the phone. When the screens off im not seeing huge % of battery drop. i leave WIFI on and switch between 5ghz and 2.4ghz when its at home and at work i manually turn it off as i dont want my phone connected to works wifi.
I also leave bluetooth enable and never turn this off howver i do turn the Razer BT headphones off when not in use to save battery.
Will keep you updated
Oddly enough i just got a new Razer Theme Store update will check the patch notes for deep sleep fix.

I used to see that behaviour on my Note 5. I noticed that the screen light up showing a notification from Google Playstore while an app was being updated, and then it faded away as soon as it finished. Sometimes this happened so fast that I could only see the notification already fading away.

Updates (Left on) as i should get the this app has an update message stay in the noticfication drop down.
Auto-Updates (Turned Off) hopefully it wont tell bother me and leave the phone screen off and this should fix my issue

Also, I've noticed that my battery is draining like 15-20% during the night (about 6 hours). Yesterday I tried turning off WiFi and Mobile Data before going to sleep, and when I woke up today, I noticed it drained only 1% during those 6 hours!
Is normal that Wifi/Mob8ke Data drain so much battery while inactive?

Adaptive Battery Issue

I downloaded the Adroid P Beta and everything works GREAT except the "Adaptive Battery " setting. I'll toggle it on but it seems to turn itself off just as quickly. It won't stay on for any length of time at all. Just curios to see if anyone else here is having this issue. Thanks in advance.
Yes. Whenever I check, the toggle is grey and OFF. It doesn't seem to stay ON for more than an hour on my phone, which is weird because it did restrict one of my apps about a week ago.
So strange that now that I've seen this thread, I've noticed mine has been turned off and not staying on. All my previous screenshots I've taken it's stayed on since day one with DP2.

Strange for me it is always ON. Relatively new to updating to P beta though.
Reasons can be speculated, please provide feedback to google on the same.
My speculated reasons:
If battery is low, it could stop adaptive battery function to avoid extra consumption of battery in learning usage pattern.
If adaptive battery has sufficient time executed and learnt usage pattern it could be kept off and android system can just use already learnt usage pattern for optimizing battery. Unless new app install or some change I can keep it turned off.
Obviously some bug or limit kept by Google to ensure it runs for specific time period as learning usage pattern does consume battery.
I haven't noticed any issue with the Adaptive Battery on my phone, just checked and it's still turned on.
mine was on last time I checked (not sure when that was), looked now, it was off, switched it back on, and is staying on.
just a follow up from earlier, it was again turned off when I checked it just now.
turned it back on, but apparently that wont last.
not sure whats up with it.
Mine is ON, never seen it greyed out. I did do a fresh IMAGE install of P.
CC
Same for me, it gets disabled randomly. I guess it will be fixed in the DP3 that will be released next week
Google must be doing something remotely and only recently as this was definitely not happening a day or two ago. And it doesn't seem to automatically turn back on either.

ya, it definitely keeps turning itself off, mine did a few times during the day today
During my experience with Android P and adaptive battery, I did notice in the beginning I was not getting notifications from hangouts until I actually opened the app, this happened for a couple of days and then stopped. My assumption is that adaptive battery was not allowing hangouts to run as it hadn't learned that its an app I use all the time. I can see this as being a problem for users, maybe google disabled it temporarily until they work it out.

started happening to me out of nowhere too.
I been running the P beta since day 1 and ive checked the battery many times and noticed it was turned on.. then last week i checked again and noticed it was off, thought i did it by accident and turned it back on, but it keeps turning itself off since then. very weird
Just checked and adaptive battery ? is still enabled.

So after I installed DP3 it was set to on already. Let's see how long it'll last.

delayed notifications on Pixel 3 XL

Got my pixel a few days ago. Not receiving notifications in time drives me nuts. So usually gmail notifications appear on screen as soon as I unlock and wait or after about 15-30 minutes after I received an email. Sometimes longer for whatsapp No battery saver, no adaptive battery, optimizations are off for gmail. Also tried all permutations of those settings. Tried factory reset and Q up and downgrade. Nothing seems to work. Happens on wifi and cellular. Devices isn't rooted.

Since you are fairly new here in terms of posts, why not update your profile with at least your location and carrier. We don't need your exact GPS coordinates, but knowing what city/country you live in and which carrier you are using can be very helpful in diagnosing your problem. Others in your area may also chime in with their experiences if they see you are close by. If you are on an MVNO, then state exactly which one. To start with, how many APN's do you have for your carrier and have you tested any other than the default? Verify your APN settings with your carrier's web site, and fill in any that are blank or wrong. Was your SIM from your last phone, or did you get a new SIM from your carrier provisioned for your Pixel? You should not have to tweak your phone at all for the issues you are describing. Just some thoughts. Cheers.

I have the same issues. I just ordered mine from Google, unlocked.
Sim from Sprint, updated PRL. Doesn't matter.
Sometimes I don't get notifications from my "battery charged" app.
It is frustrating. I don't know the fix, and I haven't mentioned it here either.
What seems to work so far is disabling deep/light idle via adb:
$ adb shell dumpsys deviceidle disable
Deep idle mode disabled
Light idle mode disabled

This will be lost on reboot
scrap that, it's not working either way. Don't know what to do, it's unusable that way. Kinda need fast notifications for business
I have the same problem, but, only with certain apps. I'm on Verizon in St Louis, USA. I'm currently on Q beta, but, this happened on Pie at least since the start of this year.
Messages does this the worst. I'll get the message on the web app sometimes a couple minutes before it pops up on my phone. A REALLY funny one, when connected to my SUV via Bluetooth, a message will popup on its screen several seconds, sometimes more before it does on my phone. So, to me it seems like the phone is getting them right away, but doesn't send the notification immediately?
Now, Outlook on my phone I get them before they show on my work computer. So, thankfully I'm not getting delayed work emails, that could be bad considering I'm a sys admin.
I've noticed with some others, like Facebook or whatever, that if I wake up my phone, unlock it, or another notification comes in, all of a sudden I'll get some for those if there are any. In checking FB it's definitely a late notification.
I just turned off adaptive battery yesterday for other reasons, that hasn't helped. I wonder if it's one of the battery settings though that are somehow affecting it. Like the optimization for example. I don't know. It's REALLY annoying though. This plus the Bluetooth problems that Google can't seem to fix (but no other phone that I know about has these problems), I'm really starting to get pushed away here. If it weren't for day one updates, the camera, and things like that, I'd consider jumping ship...
If anyone figures this out, let me know! I'll keep digging too.

I noticed this for the first week after a clean flash then went back to normal
Might have something to do with the new battery management
So, I've been paying more attention to this, and, I've noticed something. Every time a notification doesn't come through, even though it pops up on my watch or my car, the tap to wake doesn't work. I wonder if the screen just isn't waking up for some reason? I'm not sure how that's controlled, so I don't know how one would fix it though.
Just wondering if anyone has figured this out. It is beyond ridiculous to have to wake up my phone in order for for a notification to come though. I am noticing this mostly with Gvoice and Gmail. My most frequently used and important apps. Connected to wifi 99% of the time as coverage is terrible in my area. All battery optimization is turned off. Also, it is intermittent. Most times things come through fine. For example. I woke up in the middle of the night and looked at my phone and I Gvoice message went off as soon as I woke it up. In this case the message was coincidentally sent right then, but that is the same behavior I have been experiencing when a message is delayed. Phone and watch are quiet, wake phone, suddenly my watch and phone go off with one or more notifications from one or more apps.
The one thing I have noticed is that push notifications get effed up for certain apps and I have to turn off app notifications, fully close app/clear cache, re-enable notifications and turn the app back on/reboot.

[Huawei watch GT2 - FW 1.0.9.58] BATTERY DRAIN

After I received the upgrade to 1.0.9.58 couple of days ago I am facing serious battery drain on my GT2.
Before my GT2 last easily 7-10 days. After the FW upgrade I went to 1,5 day only !!!!
I did not changed anything in my GT2 settings or android Health app settings. I am using just default watch face no custom faces.
•I tried to reset the GT2 directly from watch display. - doesn` t help
•Than I tried to restore to default settings form android Health app - doesn` t help
•I switched off all monitoring functions (heart/stress/sleep) - only small improvement
• at the end I reinstalled the android health app completely - nothing changed
In 21hrs I had a drop of -45% from battery. I have them just 1 year so battery life should be fully ok...
Is there somebody else facing the same problem ?
Any Idea how to fix ?
I am desperate already
Unfortunately i have the same problems, although mine last 3 day's.
That last update was a really bad one! I have seen many people having problems with their gt after this update! Including me with no connection for calls.

Not on the watch!
I also upgraded my GT2 to this firmware version a couple of days ago, hoping for the inclusion of SPO2 function but nothing.
BTW there truly is a significant drop in battery life since. It's actually like 20% battery per day instead of 12%~15% battery per day before.
Hope Huawei fixes this ASAP.
Battery after 6 day's 15% power without stress and heart beats.Only sleep mode is on and automatic screen opening with hand gesture.
The important problem after the last update is the missed calls. Now show only the number and not the name of the contact.
Before I do not have this problem.

Waiting for the next update, maybe?
Just reset my GT2 today to see if the battery life is improving...
i am also on that new firmaware, and not facing any issue. charged watch last monday, 5.10.., and till today battery is on 23%.
I also have a lot of battery consumption, only notifications, sleep and pulse are on. restarting to factory settings did not help. frimware 1.0.9.58. will there be any new updates?
I've sent my GT2pro to service as they are still under warranty. Service did changed the motherboard and admit the issue. (Battery drain, random freazing)
Now I am back at FW 1.0.8.16 with blocked auto updates in Health app. Nobody will persuate me to update into 1.0.9.58. ....Will wait for the next release in the row

Yes the last version before the 1.0.9.58 was the best, has all the latest updates and great battery life. I've been able to go through the entire week without charging and it still has like 25% left.
With the current firmware version I struggle to reach the 5th day before the battery goes red.
Just got a Honor Watch magic 2 42 mm and it updated itself automatically (or I updated it unconsciously) on setup. I'm facing the same problems as you describe. I know the 42mm has half the battery life, but it barely achieves 2 days with smart heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking so I searched for my software version and ended up here. If someone else can give feedback about the 42mm appreciated.
Thank for the thread and the info.
Same problem
Since that update, I only have 8 hours batterylife (I have the 42mm version). Still don't know after weeks what it causes.
on 1.0.9.58 i dont have any battery drain, but i see that watch is not counting steps correctly. When i wake at night and do some steps and when i check its saying 0 steps and then also sleep tracker saying that i was not awake.
Any idea when to expect next update? (.....after 1.0.9.58)
