After I received the upgrade to 1.0.9.58 couple of days ago I am facing serious battery drain on my GT2.
Before my GT2 last easily 7-10 days. After the FW upgrade I went to 1,5 day only !!!!
I did not changed anything in my GT2 settings or android Health app settings. I am using just default watch face no custom faces.
•I tried to reset the GT2 directly from watch display. - doesn` t help
•Than I tried to restore to default settings form android Health app - doesn` t help
•I switched off all monitoring functions (heart/stress/sleep) - only small improvement
• at the end I reinstalled the android health app completely - nothing changed
In 21hrs I had a drop of -45% from battery. I have them just 1 year so battery life should be fully ok...
Is there somebody else facing the same problem ?
Any Idea how to fix ?
I am desperate already
Unfortunately i have the same problems, although mine last 3 day's.
That last update was a really bad one! I have seen many people having problems with their gt after this update! Including me with no connection for calls.

Not on the watch!
I also upgraded my GT2 to this firmware version a couple of days ago, hoping for the inclusion of SPO2 function but nothing.
BTW there truly is a significant drop in battery life since. It's actually like 20% battery per day instead of 12%~15% battery per day before.
Hope Huawei fixes this ASAP.
Battery after 6 day's 15% power without stress and heart beats.Only sleep mode is on and automatic screen opening with hand gesture.
The important problem after the last update is the missed calls. Now show only the number and not the name of the contact.
Before I do not have this problem.
Can you suggest me a solution to this problem?

Waiting for the next update, maybe?
Just reset my GT2 today to see if the battery life is improving...
i am also on that new firmaware, and not facing any issue. charged watch last monday, 5.10.., and till today battery is on 23%.
I also have a lot of battery consumption, only notifications, sleep and pulse are on. restarting to factory settings did not help. frimware 1.0.9.58. will there be any new updates?
I've sent my GT2pro to service as they are still under warranty. Service did changed the motherboard and admit the issue. (Battery drain, random freazing)
Now I am back at FW 1.0.8.16 with blocked auto updates in Health app. Nobody will persuate me to update into 1.0.9.58. ....Will wait for the next release in the row

Yes the last version before the 1.0.9.58 was the best, has all the latest updates and great battery life. I've been able to go through the entire week without charging and it still has like 25% left.
With the current firmware version I struggle to reach the 5th day before the battery goes red.
Just got a Honor Watch magic 2 42 mm and it updated itself automatically (or I updated it unconsciously) on setup. I'm facing the same problems as you describe. I know the 42mm has half the battery life, but it barely achieves 2 days with smart heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking so I searched for my software version and ended up here. If someone else can give feedback about the 42mm appreciated.
Thank for the thread and the info.
Same problem
Since that update, I only have 8 hours batterylife (I have the 42mm version). Still don't know after weeks what it causes.
on 1.0.9.58 i dont have any battery drain, but i see that watch is not counting steps correctly. When i wake at night and do some steps and when i check its saying 0 steps and then also sleep tracker saying that i was not awake.
Any idea when to expect next update? (.....after 1.0.9.58)

Is your phone rooted? No, it's not the reason, but it may help.
Prosecutor: Objection! Judge - relevance?
Me: Your Honor, I have a point.
Judge: Sustained, you may proceed.
Hi thanks for the answer yes my phone is rooted
Cannot in any way connect the root status of the phone (?) to excessive drain on the watch.
First day of using it (got it yesterday) I got about 6 hours out of my watch. I went through playing with everything yesterday already, so not that much action today, only the regular Gmail and Hangouts notifications. Top consumer, as per the OP an unnamed app. I would have expected more from my watch, to be honest. Ideas?
Oh, and got the update notification for 5.0.2 directly after turning it on and pairing, so I'm on 5.0.2 already.

Hi, i got the same issue since i updated to 5.0.2. I used to get a full heavy use day and still remain 30%40% at the end of the day, after the update i only get 11-12 hours of use. Any help will be highly appreciated.
Note: My phone is also rooted.
I'm not fully through testing/verifying the following, but I made an obervation.
I used the watch the other day and got about 18+ hours out of it. Dont know exactly, just put it on the charger and was happy still having juice left.
The following day, all was going well up until to that moment I started using a timer app on my phone, which counted down at 5 minute intervals and showed a live updating notification doing so. I didnt pay attention to the watch, as the timer is phone only, but as I checked the watch at some point for something different, I noticed the battery dropped significantly since I last checked. Upon checking the battery stats, I found that the charge started dropping at about the moment I started continuously timering.
I take from this, that when using tools which interact with or update your phones notification drawer, the watch will get somehow polled as well. But I am still investigating.
In case you wonder: its an ingress portal hack countdown timer.
Question about settings?

Do you by chance have your dev options enabled on your device that your Moto 360 is connected to? If so, I did a test on my device to see if that was a battery hog on my Moto 360 and turns out it seems to be. Un-named app (android icon) showing the most usage but the graph I have shows upon Dev options enabled, battery began to plummet badly. Just an observation. I perform testing on mobile and wearable as part of my job but I didn't have a way to analyze any logs for this wearable (moto 360). I don't have Moto's log analysis tool.
I do have dev options enabled. But as the watch is now generally behaving well, I don't think it's connected but happened to you by accident. This is only a guess though.
To be honest, I'm on xda with a couple of posts made already, of course I have dev options enabled  I use plenty of tools day in day out which need dev options. I also on a regular basis manipulate my device via adb, so dev options really is a must.
Anyway, I will observe this some more and get back to this thread in case I find any new developments.
Okay, this weekend, on a Friday, I drove to DC. As soon as navigation started on my Nexus 6, my watch started to display the navigation notifications. I quickly blocked the app, as I didn't want the 3+ hours of navigation to drain my watch.
2.5 hours into the trip, I look at my watch's battery, and it's down to 30%!!! I started the trip at about 90%. Not happy, very scared about running out of power. Figure out it's a bug, or whatever, and I factory reset that night.
During the weekend, while I'm in DC, I notice that it is not the normal battery life, despite a factory reset Friday night.
On the way home, Sunday, I noticed a huge drain as well. Not wanting to lose any more power, I turn it on AIRPLANE MODE when at 47%.
HERE'S WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING.
I get a notification that says something like "Maps Navigation App stopped." I don't remember the exact phrasing.
However, this leads me to believe that I was experiencing the battery drain because while I was blocking the Maps app, it was still running on my watch! What's up with that? I thought it totally stopped the app.
Am I correct? Does a blocked app still run while the watch despite being blocked?
IF so... how do I "fix" this? Is that possible?
Or, was something else draining my battery?

Okay, from another thread I was discussing on Android Central, another user found that Maps and probably other apps weren't totally OFF when the Notification was set to be BLOCKED. Meaning, even though you are Blocking a certain app, it appears that it is still running in the background of the watch, and that is leading to huge drains.
Anybody take any road trips or commuting with their moto360 and using Google Maps notice this?

I have this exact same issue. I use navigation a few days a week. I'm a new Moto 360 owner, so I thought it was just other battery issues. But it isn't. Its Navigation. Once I start navigation, by battery plummets. I can't stop it. Then the battery usage says that Bluetooth uses the most battery. So I am gonna keep trying different things. Don't factory reset your phone. It doesn't help. Resetting the watch doesn't help either. I think its an issue with Android 5.0.2. But that's a guess. What else can it be?

About 3 days ago the battery drain on my Nexus 5X went crazy. I found out that the "app" Android System do not let the phone sleep and keeps it awake all the time. That is why the phone can not even get into doze mode and drains about 8% per hour when the screen is off. I tried restarting the device and also force stopping the Android System. Both without any succes. Do anybody knows what to do with it? Or should I just wait if it will go back to normal? I do have screenshots, but the XDA will not let me post outside links...
Interested about that.

I am having the same problem. It occurs randomly, most often when I have just charged the phone and removed the cable. If i am correct, a wakelock under the name *backup* is holding the phone awake, it might be the same in ur case. I've done a research on this, turned out this is unfixable unless you have some sort of wakeblocker, which my current rom lacks of. I tried using xposed with its modules, but it gave me a ton of bootloops and i gave up on it. The only temporary fix for me is to reboot the phone. Until it happens again. No clean flash nor anything i have tried seemed to have helped. I even tried disabling all services and receivers from Android System, no luck again. That is one hefty problem

I have exactly same problem with wakelock. It happens only after charging. Everything is OK after restart.
It has happened to me sometimes on my old HTC One X and I think it happened also once on this 5X, but it was just for about a day or so. It disappeared itself with time, I didn't do anything with it then. Now it's been 6 days, I have to charge the phone twice as frequently and neither the reboot nor the force stopping everything works. I really don't know what to do in this case. Also this phone isn't rooted yet, so I can't just flash the system again as on my old HTC... I'm still hoping it will disappear by itself asap
But do you anybody have any other ideas what can I try to do to stop that crazy system app?
same problem here...
had the phone about 350 hours with no restart and i thought i would give it a reboot..
same think happened...android system was going from 2% to 20% in a matter of hours..
installed an app called GSam Battery monitor..showed me the phone was not going in deep sleep (Doze mode) at all...
here is an attachment if anyone can understand better than me..
I posted a similar thing in the battery life thread. Very odd really as I've had the phone a few months now but it also only started with me a few weeks ago. Really can't think of a trigger for it... I doubt the April update would have been significant enough to create an issue, but who knows.
Exactly. After about 4 months of working excellently and about 400 hours without restarting, after charging it's immediately goes into this "mode" when the Android System won't let the phone sleep. Even restart didn't help me, but now after 3 restarts it goes to normal. One bad thing... after every single one charging, every time I put the phone on the charger it goes crazy again and I have to restart the phone after every cutting of of the charger... it makes me really angry when the phone is only 4 months old and even the "okay" battery life isn't that good on this phone... God I just need to find a solution, that's insane...

THIS!!!!
the phones battery life was a big "ok i can just play a bit less so i can get through the day and IF anything happens i know it has fast charge so ok"
nowadays i have to reboot after EVERY charge....
p.s.
anyone that faces the same problem but WITH mai's security update? do we have any hope that it will fix that problem?
Not sure if it's a one-off, but I decided to uninstall the game "8 Ball Pool" by miniclip as it appeared on my battery usage stats when I'd not opened it in days. Since then, even after a recharge, the phone seems to be going to sleep as normal.
I'll monitor to see how things go but perhaps it could genuinely be a rogue app. It's a little disappointing that doze wouldn't block the keep awake requests - I thought that was one of the main purposes of it.
The same issue occurs for my Nexus 5X: after device disconnected from a charger, Android System process starts to keep device awake until next restart. As I understand from comments above factory reset does not help to solve a problem. Has anybody met the similar problem with custom ROMs/kernels?

It started with the latest update I think. It hasn't happened once ever before. I hope they already know what's happening and with the May update it will be gone. I don't think there's any other solution when you don't want to flash custom ROM and stay on stock... :/ we have to wait.. :/

Hmmm, sorry for offtopic clarification... as of now I'm little bit confused about Android versioning, especially it's unclear for me: whether you mean as latest update: 6.0.1 or april security patch or model build number (like MHC19Q, which is currently on my device)?
I guess it must be April security patch. Some kind of problem in the Android System app that comes with the security patch. I don't really know in this case, but as I've said, it hasn't happened once before the April patch

I rolled back to MHC 19J. The April MTC19T Build cut my battery life in half. Android system being the top culprit. Deep sleep never going over 80%. Horrible idle drain. Would drain 15% over night while i slept. Exact same setup as before, no new apps. SOT went from about 5 hours to not even 3.

MTC19T is May update. I've updated my device to it yesterday and the issue hasn't been fixed yet: a device is still kept awake by Android System after disconnecting from a charger. @ScumDroid, could you please confirm there is no such issue on MTC19J after rolling back?

Same issue. After running it for few months flawlessly, the Android System is keeping the device awake and only restarting it solving the problem temporarily. Charging the phone again starts the wake lock..
Most disappointing is it's the 'Android System' that causing the problem. If any app/game is linked to this, it should have been appeared as the culprit but unfortunately it's that 'System'.
Waiting for solution.
Samsung users are having the same problem.
I have found something on my Samsung Galaxy S6 in regards to 'Android OS' killing the battery. It might be the same for Nexus users, I've confirmed this on a Moto G 2015 running the latest MM update and on a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. By latest update, I mean the April security patch.
Check this and this.

Sorry for the late response mate. I have no issues with android system draining battery in MTC19J.
Afternoon Gents,
Elephone have posted another 7.1.1 stock rom for this unit dated the 14.08.17
http://www.elephone.hk/downloads
Fixes?
* This one looks like it fixes the severe battery drain as the unit now correctly powers the screen down when in standby.
* Time for first GPS fix is greatly improved.
* 5th July Android Security Patch.
Basically we're back to the stability of the late 6.0 builds with faster GPS.
Here's the annoying part
I've been in discussions with Elephone via FB and email to their Engineers. They are insistant that this update has been released OTA on Mon 21st, BUT my phone never got it. I've done repeated checks on multiple fibre, VDSL and VPN connections and it either returns no connection or Device up to date I've had to manually flash the scatter file from their website then flash the phone, which obviously completely resets everything.
Hi, on Monday 21, i have receive this update.
Before this, no problem for me with my S7 4/64 on Android 7.1.1...
Now, after update : very big battery drain, and zero notification , exept SMS ( no notification of games, app ....)
So there is a big problem
Have you done a factory reset. I have had similar issues after an OTA, especially with the fingerprint scanner. A full reset fixed it.
Factory reset done , so :
- Battery drain : the same after reset
- Notification : sometimes it work, sometime no ????
- LED notification : OK
- Charging : return of the sound when connect / disconnect charger OK now

Hmmm. Interesting. I have an S7 64/4 and on the latest update:
* Battery drain is significantly reducced. Previously this was caused by the screen not turning off when going into standby leading to rapid battery drain. My screen now goes completely off after 30 seconds and I get about 36-48 hours on a charge.
* LED notification is fixed, although the colours marked in the menu are wrong. I think there are 7 colours in the menu but only 3 work.
* Charging sound functions normally.
Did you use the OTA? What happens when you use the upgrade on the website? I wonder if they may be differennt somehow.

Are you using the Elephone cover with the window in the front?
I'm using the silicone cover sold with the phone.
Why this question .

The extra cover you can buy with the window in it works with the Hall sensor in the phone to turn the display to the clock then off. In the May/June firmware, this process wasn't working, the screen always stayed on leading to terrible battery drain

It's not only that the screen is always on but the CPU scheduler for the device is badly optimized.
It won't properly shut down the performance cores or multimedia cores when using phone only for simple stuff like reading web, watching youtube or sms.
Plus when the phone goes to sleep, all cores are on at 1GHz randomly.

Razer phone not Deep sleeping according to AccuBattery discharge tests!
I have crap battery life when the phone is not in use. Loosing about 7% an hour with screen off and sleeping.
Wifi on, mobile data off, bluetooth off and nfc. So whats causing the drain with battery?
:edit (Plus phone set to 60fps and battery saving with all apps. )
I see no signs of this device actually deep sleeping. I have no apps that cause this either so whats the deal?
Do any other users notice this issue?
Also Whats with the rapid charge? The phone charges to about 25% rapid charge then drops to a low charge that drops slowly until 100% is reached. This takes fully charging to around 1 hour 20 minutes, That is not rapid charging! You can also see this yourself with accubattery charge monitoring. Have others noticed these issues?
I've just noticed the same issue today. Yesterday when I went to sleep, I left my phone around 65% and when I woke up it had 30%.
Could that be fixed when they release Oreo update? I'm kinda worried about it :/

Would help if other users also installed accubattery to see if anyone is getting the phone to deep sleep.

I always use accubattery and it shows me that 70% of my screen off time is spent in deep sleep.. Dont know what to tell you guys but it's gotta be something you installed.. Phone runs fine and sleeps like it should

It does say the time the phone went into deep sleep.
But I keep thinking that it's draining more battery than it should when the screen off.
I just have the apps that were already installed, plus a couple of games

OK I found the issue that cause the Razer not deep sleeping. The Theme store that is pre-installed to the phone was keeping the phone from deep sleeping. Disable the Razer Theme app from app settings. You can re-enable it afterwards and the phone will deep sleep fine after. This caused me several issues regarding battery life.
I also checked my sons Razer and even though his was deep sleeping Disabling and re enabling the Razer Theme app made the phone deep sleep better with less wake-ups,
I would suggest everyone either disables the Razer theme store app or at least disables and re-enable the app to get better deep sleep.
I was loosing 7% an hour because of this app issue. Try it you will see a great improvement in screen off time.
Disable the Razer theme store completely if you get poor battery drain with screen off. After further testing The Theme store app is causing the issue and after re-enabling it the drain came back about 3 hours later. I suggest to keep the Theme store disabled until you need it. This has sorted my never sleeping issue and stopped the 7% per hour battery drain in standby.

I did and it worked! It's draining slower while screen is off. Thank you very much!

Great that's confirmed the issue is the Theme store app causing the phone not to deep sleep. Glad it worked for you. :0-)
Strangely enough my Accubattery says my phone is in deep sleep 90%+ of screen off-time yet I'm also getting the same 7-10%/h drain with the screen off. Will be disabling theme store just in case that really is the problem
Yes there is a problem I spoke to razer support. I told them of the issue and that it was razer theme store causing the phone not to sleep. The support guy had me talk to the engineering team who were to say the least extremely pleased that I found what had been causing the issue. According to the engineering team they have been looking for the cause of this issue for last couple of months. They swore that they would fix the no deep sleep issue in the app in the next update. Even said they would send me a spare charger as a thank you for finding the problem. They also said that orio would release by the end of march but no sign of that yet. It's seems a strange problem that is not effecting all razer phones.
Would be nice to know who has factory reset after doing the last update and who hasn't.
I have not factory reset but my phone was already updated straight out of the box. Have other updated and factory reset?

I have factory reset and found out my personal problem was WiFi. After changing from 5GHz to 2.4Ghz my drain is back to around 0.8 an hour. Nearly 0 if I turn WiFi off completely but im still doing testing. It's strange though as all my tests have been next to the router so I shouldnt be getting excessive drain from poor signal
Im unsure if this is releated and put the app on my phone to just check as im a man who likes stats. I have noticed that when relaxing with the phone on charge the screen will randomly light up with no notification to trigger this happening.
My Phones just laying there on charge and the screen will light up still locked with no notifications and a few seconds later it will turn off the screen again its bugging me as im not seeing a reason to why this is happening.

I believe that i factory wiped mine using the software options within the OS as part of an issue im having wth the netflix app crashing i cant say that ive seen a battery dip as other have done above but charging my phone over night to 100% i only see it dip when im watching youtube or actually using the phone. When the screens off im not seeing huge % of battery drop. i leave WIFI on and switch between 5ghz and 2.4ghz when its at home and at work i manually turn it off as i dont want my phone connected to works wifi.
I also leave bluetooth enable and never turn this off howver i do turn the Razer BT headphones off when not in use to save battery.
Will keep you updated
Oddly enough i just got a new Razer Theme Store update will check the patch notes for deep sleep fix.

I used to see that behaviour on my Note 5. I noticed that the screen light up showing a notification from Google Playstore while an app was being updated, and then it faded away as soon as it finished. Sometimes this happened so fast that I could only see the notification already fading away.

Good call on that as it wasnt something I thought to check as its so quick!
For now I have gone into Playstore > Settings > Notification Settings >
Updates (Left on) as i should get the this app has an update message stay in the noticfication drop down.
Auto-Updates (Turned Off) hopefully it wont tell bother me and leave the phone screen off and this should fix my issue

Please let us know if it fixes the issue.
Also, I've noticed that my battery is draining like 15-20% during the night (about 6 hours). Yesterday I tried turning off WiFi and Mobile Data before going to sleep, and when I woke up today, I noticed it drained only 1% during those 6 hours!
Is normal that Wifi/Mob8ke Data drain so much battery while inactive?
