How to uninstall update google play services? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

HI all, I am using Redmi 5 plus, I can't find that forums, so I ask here.
I want to uninstall update google play services for use fake gps app.
I have find this method, but since it is not work on MIUI.
"Remove updates to the app (Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Services > three dots menu > Uninstall updates). You might need to head to Settings > Security > Device Administrators and disable Android Device Manager first."
Has any other method which is work on MIUI?

[Q] DebianDroid Lenny - Release 7

To the MoltenMotherBoard team,
Any chance of a flashable update.zip / patch.zip to go from release 6 to release 7. Just to avoid having to setup a new rom from scratch again?
Thanks.
PS. Good work with this project and your MMB Tweaks :good:

Bug Report - DebianDroid Lenny - Release 7
Hi Guys,
Just thought i'd advise of a few bugs I have found with the latest release. I would post this in the Development thread, but i'm not allowed yet because i'm an XDA noob!
1. System Settings > (Interface) DebianDroid Settings > Interface > Notification Power Widget > Widget Buttons > Brightness Modes >
Force Closes.
This is a new bug, it worked fine in release 6.
Also, if it's possible with this one, can you remove the option for "Auto" as the Gio doesn't have this ability.
2. System Settings > (Interface) DebianDroid Settings > Interface > Notification Power Widget > Widget Button Order >
The re-arranging doesn't work like it's suppose to. You can only drag the rows to the very top. Getting the order you want is still achievable, however you have to do it in reverse and it can be a little confusing and tedious.
This was also a bug in the last version.
3. System Settings > (Wireless & Networks) More... > Tethering & Portable Hotspot > USB Tethering >
Turns on, says it's tethered and then turns itself off again straight away.
Not sure if this worked on the last version or not.
4. System Settings > (System) Performance > Spare Parts >
Force Closes.
This was also a bug in the last version.
5. Duplicate settings menu items.
"Performance" and "Lockscreen" appear under the "DebianDroid" sub-menu as well as the main "System Settings" menu.
"Application" sub-menu appears under the "DebianDroid" sub-menu as well as under the "Apps" sub-menu.
I know you advised that you had cleaned up/removed un-needed menu items in release 7 change log, but I just thought I would point these duplicates out and see what you wanted to do with them.
In regards to your MMB Tweaks 0.9, have you ever thought about integrating them into this ROM. That would be awesome! :highfive:
Great work with this by the way, I have tried/tested heaps of ROM's for the Gio and this is definitely one of the best. Please rethink about finishing up developing on this ROM as it would be a real shame, even if you only do bug fixes mainly as it would be worth it.
Regards, :fingers-crossed:

Where to find" floating windows"

Hey guys,
I'm trying to run an app called zui locker which asks me to enable floating windows in system settings.
I can't seem to find that option. Where is it hidden?
Running b708 v3
Thanks in advance!
Go to Settings > Notification manager > Dropzones.
In my Huawei p6 there is no option like notifications manager. What should I do?
What rom are you running?

[Q] Badge App icon aka notification counter

Hi,
After I updated to android 5.1.1 on my S6 edge Ive lost my badge app icon aka notification count for whats app textra and other apps that used to show notification counts on them prior to the update ( android 5.0.2). I am using the normal touchwiz launcher that came with my phone. I have used it as well before the update. I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem since updating with apps other than stock apps.
Hi lebdeb85,
I am experiencing the exact same issues as you are. The badge continues to work for FB, Pinterest, Drippler, Email... but stopped working for WhatsApp, Textra, FB Page Manager and other applications. I have yet to find any more information about this problem. Did you make any progress??

Hi Biggaboss,
Nope no progress at all, I contacted T-mobile. The Tmobile rep downloaded whats app and had the same problem. He told me those app developers have to probaby update their app to be up to date to the new software. I contacted whats app and no reply. I contacted textra and I have been in communication with them. I also contacted Samsung and the rep said same thing as Tmobile. So I guess we'd have to wait for an update to those apps. As far as other way around I tried Nova Launcher with Tesla unread but didnt like the fact that when you swipe a notification it clears the count as well so I am back to touchwiz.

Textra people replied and they are working on it, as for whats app they replied and it worked.. This is the solution they provided
1. If you are able to open WhatsApp, create a manual backup by opening [WhatsApp] > [Menu Button] > [Settings] > [Chat Settings] > [Back up chats].
2. Delete WhatsApp by going to [System Settings] > [Manage applications] > [WhatsApp] > [Uninstall].
3. Access whatsapp.com/android from your phone
4. Tap "Download now" - the file will download as an APK file.
5. Open the APK file. Installation will begin automatically.
I believe the app has been updated on their website

Ledbed85,
Thanks for your reply. It is good to know that Textra is working on it as I like that app a lot. I was thinking about trying Nova Launcher, but did not like how it displayed the notification bubble, so decided to wait and keep using touchwiz. I will try the Whatsapp solution you described and hopefully that will work. It is also good to know that we simply may have to wait until everybody upgrades their apps and know it is not a problem on our end.
Thanks again,
Ricardo

lebdeb85,
I tried your steps and it worked to perfection. I didn't need to uninstall the current version of whatsapp, just went directly to the website, downloaded and installed the new .apk and restarted my phone. Now the badge is working again. Thank you so much for your help.

[Guide]Get Google Assistant on Lenovo K4 Note[A7010a48][Android 6.0+]

Hello , XDAians
I Came up with another good News,Get Google Assistant on Lenovo K4 Note.
As Google has Announced that google assistant coming for Android marshmallow devices.I Just wanted to share a guide to, How to enable/activate Google assistant on your devices.
It Works on all Marshmallow and Nougut roms, (Vibe UI Supported)
The Google Assistant comes to your phone through an update to Google Play Services. This allows Google to push it out directly, as Play Services includes APIs and other developer tools updated independently from the typically anemic Android operating system device update process.
What you need to do?
Should be on Android 6.0 or Higher.
Get the latest builds of Google play services and Google app.(Links are provided)
Install those apps manually(Settings>Security>Unknown Sources should be enabled)
Goto to Settings >Location services and disable Google location history for a while)
Goto to Settings > language and input > Select language as English (united states)
Now Goto Settings>Apps>
Clear app data of both Google app and Google play services
Google App >Storage>Manage Space > Clear all data
Google Play services> Storage > Manage Space > Clearn all data
Now Get Ready to talk with your Assistant
Download Links:
GetAssistant(GoogleApps).zip
*extract zip file and install apps manually

Question Changing default file manager app

Is there a way to change the default file manager app without rooting or using custom rom? Xiaomi file manager has so many ads and i want to change it to google files.
i think you can remove - some of the - the ads by going to settings and disabling the "show recommandations" - chinese for show ads
there's a lot of those toggles in miui, also in the security, browser, search in the miui forum there was a guide on where to find them all.
or easier, just go for a custom rom
im not to sure you need to set it default, just install the google version from google play and open that insted of the xiaomi version.
youcant really remove it since it's ibstalled as a system app.
