After the recent update my phone reports a problem with my two SIM cards + SD card hack.
Everything is working, but an annoying pop up that I cannot get rid off prevents me from using the phone.
I just updated the phone, I did not change the SIM cards or SD card - now it is suddenly complaining.
Any ideas how to fix this?
I think it is something only in the software, it checks for Sim Card 2 if it is present and the memory card is present it activates this stupid error message.
Hope they can fix it by any flashable zip update.
If you find any solution, please keep us updated.

I cannot get rid of this window and cannot use the phone anymore until second sd card was removed.

Does anybody know if it Samsung related or Android? So other phones with Dual SIM slot and memory extension would still accept the SIM-SD hack or it is blocked by Android if one slot contains both, SD-Card and SIM it pops up this useless message?
need a solution
Please share if anybody comes up with a solution.

I installed the BRE5 firmware - make sure it's correct for your phone though, from here .
Download, unzip & install using Odin - tutorials already on here.

Hi Kramer!
I checked the link and I saw a firmaware dated June 29th with almost the same name that is currently running on my S9+. My baseband version is G965FXXU1BRF5 on the site I can find G965FXXU1BRF8.zip but with this date isn't it the same release that already blocks access if SIM and SD are presented in the same slot?
And what does the difference in BFR5 and BRF8 mean?
Thanks for helping me out.

How to flash this custom firmware
Hi everyone, i'm really new with this zenfone 2, just had it since 3 days ago, mine is ze551ml with 4gb ram and 32gb internal, and still has firmware version 2.13... And I have an issue with the battery life, so I was looking for something that can fix my problem, then I found this thread, and honestly I don't have any idea how to do it, and what's the meaning of "you must be unlocked" ? Is that mean I have to unlock bootloader first? If so, than what should I do after that? Can I just download the firmware then put it in my internal storage? Will notification pooped up after i unplug the USB cable ? Or there is something I need to do with the firmware? I hope you guys can help this newbie, and if you can make a tutorial video and upload it to YouTube it will help many people, thank you very much...

I'm more than likely going to remove that, but if it's in the SysUI, I won't touch it. Since Asus still updates their launcher often, it would have to be re-modified with each update.
Going to see if I can kill it another way though. Pretty sure I can.

I just unlocked my bootloader, but when I try to adb sideload, it says
e:footer is wrong
e:signature verfication failed
installation aborted.
Does that mean that my bootloader isn't unlocked? (because I followed the step perfectly and got a white bootloader and everything)
Any help is appreciated.
---------- Post added at 03:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:13 AM ----------
When I try installing this with adb sideload, (on a rooted unlocked zenfone2) it says that the signature verification failed.
I thought that it didn't check for verificaton if the bootloader was unlocked.
My bootloader is white so I am fairly certain that it is unlocked.
I'm not sure what I'm dong wrong. any help is appreciated.
My firmware is 2.19.40.18
Update: So I installed TWRP (i think that solved the problem I had earlier), however now when I go into ADB Sideload, it says that there are no adb devices connected.
This is very strange to me because when I exit ADB Sideload, and I check for adb devices, it shows up again.
I have also tried reinstalling drivers and the result is still the same.
If anyone is experiencing similar issues or knows how to fix this, please let me know!
Thanks
update 2: So I was not able to sideload from adb using TWRP, however I was able to use the push function to push the data onto the internal memory and install it from there.
The command I used was "ADB push <filename> /sdcard/"
without the quotatons.
From there I installed it and worked like a charm.
Thanks!

I've uninstalled everything that the phone allowed me to do by default.
if you know anything else that could be disable could you please make a list.
The reason im not removing them is simple:
1) not an expert in android - in case problems happens
2) i like to be able to update my phone - so far i've made 1 OTA without any problems
3) 64 gb of internal storage is enough to not worry about space.
Just a small and quick question. I'm looking to flash this bad boy and getting most bloat removed in one simple step; but I'm worried about one thing.
Do you plan to keep doing this with future builds, or quitting sometime in the near future?

Patience, it seems to roll out slowly... Not a major update anyway, mostly to fix calling in Thailand and a couple of (mostly) unrelated stuff that will help only in certain circumstances...
My advice would be to flash the pre-rooted 19.40.18 image and then upgrade again. If the OTA isn't pushed you should find it here on XDA. You might even find 19.40.22 as well as it's been 2 days since release...
Just make sure you don't wipe anything, just install the 1st pre-rooted file then after reset go back to fastboot and install the next...

That is not software problem. I don't know why but some SIM cards are more thin the others and the SIM badges let them slip, after some time. I don't know if Asus did the badge to large, but in my case I found a solution that is pull the SIM to the pin conector, wint some paper sheet (little pieces) to create some volume, to force the SIM remain in his place. After that no more fails in SIM cards (both). I felt this problem at four firmwares ago. Now I'm in WW.20.19.40.22 and everything is ok.
Thanks, Now I'm in WW.20.19.40.22 and still the same issue I tested another sim and worked perfectly but only in sim2 and sim1 still unavailable I`m hopeless and don't know what to do

Yes. it was. The file I downloaded from here (QD2 Update) would not complete flashing. So I ODINed the PL1 firmware and tried to flash again. did not work. blahdiblah.
Eventually I went through the OTA update from PL1. the phone rebooted telling me to insert sim. I managed to restart the phone and get the sim recognized, but the sim was damaged somehow with it not being able to send text messages.
Went to the store. they at first tried to charge me for a new sim.... but then the guy remembered that I had previously called his manager complaining that he was too good of a salesman.... then he told me straight: "we've had a bunch of complaints about that problem" (OTA updates breaking SIM cards)
So, Just to be on the safe side, I take the sim out from now on.
Alright.

Network Problem
hey. Guys i have a sm-n900t but my sim card wont read. There is a round circle with a line in it and when i try to call some it say "mobile network not available" please help me guys...
I suspect you may have an out of date modem that's not compatible with the latest Lollipop update. My initial questions to you are did you install this update via OTA or using ODIN and what OS did you have prior to installing this update? If your currently installed modem is indeed out of date, the first troubleshooting step would be to re-flash the N900TUVUFQD2 firmware using ODIN.
If I'm on this baseband version, can i flash the Dompop rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...rom-dompop-urv1-tekhd-edition-note-4-t3060175
Or do i need to change baseband version??
Also, to root my note 3 should i follow this guide or something else? https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2672393

ODIN should update the modem partition when you flash the latest firmware, I'm not sure why yours didn't update unless you somehow flashed it incorrectly. I'll record a video on how to do if you'd like.

Alright, sounds like there needs to be some clarification here.
#1. I installed the update via ODIN, and IF you flashed the update via ODIN as well, your baseband WILL update (assuming something didn't go wrong, in which case I recommend a re-flash to ensure the process completed successfully).
#2. I never intended this to become an error reporting thread, I was simply posting a notification for those who didn't know about this update. You should go post about this in the Troubleshooting section of this Note 3 (TMO) subsection.
#3. If you want to complain to me saying "This update broke my phone!!"... It's not my software, therefore it's not my problem. All modifications (this includes firmware flashes) are YOUR responsibility and YOU perform it at YOUR OWN RISK.
Go look around on XDA, everyone says "PERFORM AT YOUR OWN RISK".
Hope this cleared most of it up, if not... go re-read it because you probably didn't ACTUALLY read it.

haha sure but i dont know which one is the right firmware, i bought the phone from a local store, without specific carrier for the phone.
also, i was able to find my IMEI written on the back cover of the phone.
is it possible to write the IMEI into the phone and just to make it work?
also, when im entering recovery mode to wipe the phone for new firmware installation, it says ""failed to find /misc partition"

you will get that error message as a ton of us do. should be an "e" in there somewhere.
I've heard of your situation when flashing older modem/bootloader in a custom rom.
You seem to know enough to grab odin and flash, that's a lot more than many so that's good. Not sure who sold you the phone, but if you want to rule out anything shady I suggest running the IMEI to check on the status.
What country are you in? Where did you download from? And did the phone bootloop soon after attempting to use it with a new SIM?
I looked on sammobile and the only information I could use shows multiple countries. My phone bootloops all the time but that's called learning.
Download the phone info app... heck you might as well go all out and put twrp on it and root/install custom rom. Go all in.... i'll be here waiting...

Honestly, though... grab the phone info app in the playstore and post the results.
If you THINK it may be stolen and got ripped off, don't put a SIM in it.
Not sure if it is true, but I think it can be rendered unusable if it is hot. But most likely it's just hurtin' from a sour flash. Phone info... (twrp is easy and a touch of magisk will give more info if you get stuck) but I am a rookie.
You in Israel? Can only be one firmware there... flash a Palestinian firmware. It won't... ya know... nevermind.
Hello all.
Is there a way to fix this very annoying issue with dual SIM and SD card adapter for S9 on Snapdragon on Pie firmware?
As far know that on rooted phones it is possible to path some files and everything starts to work. I can root phone but I cant find any instructions how to do this patching system files on S9 Snapdragon.
Please advice.

I want to use such adapter:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076JBY2WT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
it worked on Oreo, but after updating to Pie - it doesn't work.
