S9 snapdragon Pie path for dual SIM + SD card issue - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Hello all.
Is there a way to fix this very annoying issue with dual SIM and SD card adapter for S9 on Snapdragon on Pie firmware?
As far know that on rooted phones it is possible to path some files and everything starts to work. I can root phone but I cant find any instructions how to do this patching system files on S9 Snapdragon.
Please advice.

I want to use such adapter:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076JBY2WT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
it worked on Oreo, but after updating to Pie - it doesn't work.

Google/Android decided they didn't want you to write there in the new versions. However, there is a work around.
Here is one of the free apps that will change settings to allow you to write to the SD card:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix
There are others. But, I think that all require you to be rooted.

Just for a lark, try Googling: KitKat SD Card.
I think you will find the change happened in ALL stock versions of KitKat It was an intentional change. However, almost all custom/modified ROMs turned this "feature" off as soon as they could.

Still saves them to Storage/extSdCard/DCMI/Camera on my SD card in my AT&T S4. So must be a T-Mobile thing.

Interesting, since I just searched on the S4 AT&T forum, and there are plenty of posts about it. Here's one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2687513

Yeap i am sure, actually there are 2 slots one is written sd card support and one is sim slot you can see it in the pic.
So can you actually put a SIM card in it? It looks like it is in the same place as the t805.

Yess i tried to put my sim card in it it did fit, eventually when i power on my tab nothing changed so maybe we can port T705 rom to T700. But there are aome questions of course like wifi only model does not have imei number
You Probably would need more than just the Rom. You don't have an imei number as that is stored in the EFS partition. In yours you won't have the data for 3g just WiFi and Bluetooth.
I could probably upload my EFS partition, but first I'd have to make sure my imei and serial number are removed.
Also you would need to flash the Radio partition.
I suggest before messing, you make a full backup of your partitions with twrp.
In fact I'd make a complete device partition backup with EFS PRO
I wonder if all WiFi tabs have this? I find it strange no one else has reported it.

Well you are right it is not so easy to turn 3g on, and i am not a tech man at all, so maybe someone would try this thing and i will be happy to be the first one to try,
I think all T700sa00s are the same, due to improve efficiency samsung build both 3g and wifi version same and load different os.
Having the slot for sim card does not mean it has a 3g/4g hardware module installed.

Sure but how can we find that module ?
If there is it is worth to shot, in my country (turkey) samsung does not sell 3g version

True, I would download one download one of the hardware Info apps and see what it reports.
The app System info for Android does not find any telephony specs on my T700. Obviously on my LG G3 it did.

That's an interesting discovery. It may require some work to test functionality, maybe someone working with the T-705 or T-805 can provide some guidance on their hardware and telephony setup.
Folks, the SIM slot found on the SM-T700 is empty , there's nothing there to support a SIM, its just a placeholder. Making any attempt to add cellular capabilities will required both hardware and software modifications.
Thought as much. You can add 3g anyway using an app called pp widget.
Works on my tab s t805 if I disable 3g and use this.

Dual SIM Card + SD Card Problem

After the recent update my phone reports a problem with my two SIM cards + SD card hack.
Everything is working, but an annoying pop up that I cannot get rid off prevents me from using the phone.
I just updated the phone, I did not change the SIM cards or SD card - now it is suddenly complaining.
Any ideas how to fix this?
I think it is something only in the software, it checks for Sim Card 2 if it is present and the memory card is present it activates this stupid error message.
Hope they can fix it by any flashable zip update.
If you find any solution, please keep us updated.

How did you do this? Where to get the firmware and how to manually install the old firmware? Any link to a how to would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Does anybody know if it Samsung related or Android? So other phones with Dual SIM slot and memory extension would still accept the SIM-SD hack or it is blocked by Android if one slot contains both, SD-Card and SIM it pops up this useless message?
need a solution
Please share if anybody comes up with a solution.

I installed the BRE5 firmware - make sure it's correct for your phone though, from here .
Download, unzip & install using Odin - tutorials already on here.

Hi Kramer!
I checked the link and I saw a firmaware dated June 29th with almost the same name that is currently running on my S9+. My baseband version is G965FXXU1BRF5 on the site I can find G965FXXU1BRF8.zip but with this date isn't it the same release that already blocks access if SIM and SD are presented in the same slot?
And what does the difference in BFR5 and BRF8 mean?
Thanks for helping me out.

Need Dual-Sim firmware and/or build.prop from dual-sim phone

I need the some firmware from a dual-sim moto G5 to try and repair my single-sim. I broke the sim1 slot but managed to solder some pins onto the second empty sim slot on the board. Now i need to convince the phone that it is a dual-sim phone. Does anyone have a build.prop file from a dual-sim phone?
Thanks.
Take mine, it's a custom rom (BootleggersROM 2.2)

Thanks, I'll give that a shot this evening. I really appreciate it!!
If you also have the modem from your phone somewhere, then that might be helpful as well
[Edit] I just scanned through a copy of that build.prop and compared it to mine; I couldn't identify any differences between the two that seemed related to the dual-sim functionality. Any suggestions?

give me a few minutes, I will make a copy to the modem and post, with respect to other theory only with the correct firmware should you automatically activate the ability to use 2 sim cards, at least with my samsung equipment worked well
