Hello guys,
Yesterday i was trying to reseat my battery due to have a better battery peforma ce but i realized that wifi only model Tab S 8.4 has a hidden SIM slot under the hood.
So is it possible to port T705 Rom to this fella and make 3g work?
Thanks....

Are you sure it wasn't the sd card slot? Pics please.

Yeap i am sure, actually there are 2 slots one is written sd card support and one is sim slot you can see it in the pic.
So can you actually put a SIM card in it? It looks like it is in the same place as the t805.

Yess i tried to put my sim card in it it did fit, eventually when i power on my tab nothing changed so maybe we can port T705 rom to T700. But there are aome questions of course like wifi only model does not have imei number
You Probably would need more than just the Rom. You don't have an imei number as that is stored in the EFS partition. In yours you won't have the data for 3g just WiFi and Bluetooth.
I could probably upload my EFS partition, but first I'd have to make sure my imei and serial number are removed.
Also you would need to flash the Radio partition.
I suggest before messing, you make a full backup of your partitions with twrp.
In fact I'd make a complete device partition backup with EFS PRO
I wonder if all WiFi tabs have this? I find it strange no one else has reported it.

Well you are right it is not so easy to turn 3g on, and i am not a tech man at all, so maybe someone would try this thing and i will be happy to be the first one to try,
I think all T700sa00s are the same, due to improve efficiency samsung build both 3g and wifi version same and load different os.
Having the slot for sim card does not mean it has a 3g/4g hardware module installed.

Sure but how can we find that module ?
If there is it is worth to shot, in my country (turkey) samsung does not sell 3g version

True, I would download one download one of the hardware Info apps and see what it reports.
The app System info for Android does not find any telephony specs on my T700. Obviously on my LG G3 it did.

That's an interesting discovery. It may require some work to test functionality, maybe someone working with the T-705 or T-805 can provide some guidance on their hardware and telephony setup.
Folks, the SIM slot found on the SM-T700 is empty , there's nothing there to support a SIM, its just a placeholder. Making any attempt to add cellular capabilities will required both hardware and software modifications.
Thought as much. You can add 3g anyway using an app called pp widget.
Works on my tab s t805 if I disable 3g and use this.

I own an E986 for one month, I bought it from Greece but it must be from Germany. My problem is that after rooting and installing many custom roms and stock roms I dont have 4g signal. I have tried everything, hidden menus, 4g switchers, flashing modems from allover the world just in case something works, flashing back to stock with lg flash tool, I tried stock 4.1.2 and 4.4.2, I erased APN's and added again......and many many more. Can anybody please help me? I will try any ideas, one last thing, the signal of the mobile carrier is depending only on the modem I install or are there any other parameters that I should try to flash. Thanks in advance!!!!

If you've flashed back to a stock TOT/KDZ and still have no 4G, then it seems like it cannot be any software setting other than APN configuration, and if you're certain that's right, then it could be worth it to try a different SIM card.
What else could it be? If you've flashed a correct stock image for your model, then you've ruled out software issues other than configuration, and if it once worked with the same software configuration (APN settings, etc.) then what else could it be but hardware, something tangible?

So what do you believe? Do you think that I have a hardware issue? But how on earth is it possible to have 3g and H signal but no 4g. I have flashed every stock rom for my device through kdz method but I haven't tried the tot method, do you believe that this might be the solution? I have even bought another sim card from my provider but no luck, should I try another provider? Phewwww I ask a lot I know please forgive me it' s that I have never faced a problem before that I couldn't overcome......

KDZ is sufficient. I don't see how TOT would make any difference. Maybe you could try just to familiarize yourself with the method. I don't see how that could make any difference, but maybe I'm more ignorant that I realize (this happens often enough).
So you've had 4G on that phone with that same provider before? WIth the same plan? If it's not software, and not hardware, then maybe it's to do with the carrier? I think you can be pretty safe that it's not software if you've got a stock image flashed on there, and if your APN settings are spot-on. That would leave:
- SIM card
- Phone hardware
- Carrier
- ?what else?
If it's not software, as in if you've got a fresh stock image flashed, then what else could it be but hardware? Maybe I'm missing something.. dunno.
Have you tried the SIM cards in any other phone to see if 4G works?

Maybe visit some cell phone shop and ask if you can ram your SIM into one of their phones for a minute, to test.
If you've flashed a KDZ, I don't see what else you could do, software-wise, on top of that. Have you ventured very far into the hidden diagnostic menus? I know there's tests in there for most everything, ones that show if you've got a 4G connection and exactly what detailed connection info is available.
EDIT: Oh, you can look into your service manual here. Maybe you could pull a MacGyver, yes?

I followed your advice, I tried my sim to another 4g phone and it works perfectly, I even bought a sim card from another provider just in case but again no luck, 4g signal wont show on. The hidden menu is something that I have discovered but dont know what values to change, I just checked that lte is enabled. My only hope is to find the original stock rom for Greece named e98610c.kdz I believe to flash it and see if it works, but I cant find it anywhere. My phone is from Germany though, another option I have is to find a second stock rom from Germany different than the e98610i.kdz, I have seen an e98610a.kdz, but I wasnt able to find and download it. Any help would be very nice, but thanks anyway.

I don't think so. If you've flashed back to stock with a KDZ/TOT, then you're golden.
Who is your Grecian provider? What are your current APN settings?

hello ladies and gents I bought a note 3 yesterday from some dude thinking I could fix it and get a note 3 on the cheap. I was wrong the problem is hard to fix.
1 It will not register to network
it is not blacklisted or network blocked.
Ive read somewhere that after you register to many different sims it wont allow it to connect to network anymore.
what can I do I wonder as a last ditch effort if I replace the motherboard if that will work any suggestions please?

Have you tried updating the firmware? check the APN on the phone once you insert the sim.
You could try taking it to a T-Mobile store to see if they can get it to register. Sometimes they can activate it when you can't.

It feels like it might be hardware related but I have no idea how to fix that. some piece that deals only with registering on networks.

Well, that's interesting.
If you go to settings, mobile networks, and search for networks, can you select the network and have it register?
Also double check the apn settings. I borked my hidden apn settings once and couldn't get back on the network until i wiped and reflashed full stock.
If none of that works, try also resetting the nv. Look for my thread on 900t service mode for instructions.
Sent from my leanKernel 3.16 powered stock 4.4.2 SM-N900T
I've already rebuilt the nv build. It's a family mobile sim(tmobile)
Also the apn settings I can try that again haven't changed them since I did a flashed back to stock. I doubt it will change anything usually you can still register.
oh the sim doesn't even have service anymore anyhow. Yesterday was the last day but I don't think that would change being able to register anyway.
Notice that it turns off mobile data when I try to register it may be a clue but I haven't been able to make anything of it.

Hello everyone,
Last weekend i wanted to upgrade from Cyanogenmod 14.1 to LineageOS. First i wanted to dirty flash an "migration build" over my old build, but as soon as i tried to flash LineageOS it gave me an Error 7 (Trustzone error or something like that).
It appeared my firmware was outdated so i flashed OpenBeta 12 (Firmware+Modem) to update the phones firmware and this fixed the Error 7 problem and i was able to flash LineageOS, but it resulted in crashes when trying to boot . So i tried to do a full wipe and somehow it also messed up my recovery (TWRP 3.1.0.0), so i was stuck with a soft bricked phone.
I flashed stock recovery, but wasnt able to sideload stock ROM with ADB. So i just flashed TWRP again and flashed the latest LineageOS nightly and it worked !
I am on LineageOS right now and it is all working fine except that my 4G/LTE isnt working anymore. it is only connecting to HSPAP.
I then tried putting the SIM Card in my mothers phone to check if i could get a 4G signal there and it immediately did, so i am certain its either a problem with my OP3 or with LIneage OS.
Strange thing as well is that i tried putting the SIM in the second slot of my OP3 and somehow it does get 4G/LTE connection when i have it in slot 2.
I already checked if the APN settings. Anyone else having this problem, because i couldnt really find anyone else with a similar problem.
Im afraid my 1st SIM Slot just got broken somehow
Can anyone help me fix this?
Thanks in advance,
Riekelt-Jan Pasterkamp
I had/have some no-brand dual SIM China phone and it treated the SIMs in the same manner. I just replaced the radio or modem files and the problem disappeared.
When my OP3 makes SIM-related problems, an EFS restore or modem reflash usually fixes the issue. You don't have an EFS backup of a working period I imagine?

Not sure what an EFS backup is, but i did make a backup right before i tried to flash LineageOS.
I already tried to reflash OpenBeta 12 (firmware and modem).
Are the modem and radio files in my system folder? And can i just delete them so the system creates new/clean files?
Sorry if im asking all these noob questions, but as far as rooted phones go i only know how to install ROMs and other zip files and thats it
No you've nailed it! US model correct? Chinese models handle the dual Sims differently IIRC.
