Hi all,
Because I was afraid that I have changed wrong line in build.prop to enable camera2api,
I have flashed global rom using MiFlash selecting clean all option.
Would this reset build.prop to default?

By settings you mean the system setings?
If yes, then it can be bought back only if you had the google sync on and try and run the setup mode again, and rerun the auto sync backup from google.
Else, if you are rooted, try and replace the settings file (if you have a abackup in local somewhere), in the settings folder.
Sorry, but then if the 2 options are not there, then reflash.
The Settings.apk is missing ... I tried even getting it from a flashable rom but it is not compatible in the rom Im in..
Hi guys,
I'm trying to find ROM that supports encryption. There are two options available:
1. Encrypt using lock screen password
2. Encrypt device
The first one does nothing. I tried booting into TWRP and see all files unencrypted that are supposed to be, according to the disclaimer.
The second does not finish, it just gets to 100% and then stuck (I waited for a few hours) and the only way it to reboot having corrupted FS.
So the question is how to enable data encryption?
I tried almost everything global stable, Chinese stable and dev ROMS, original and miuipro and xioami.eu. And everything with the same outcome.
MIUI should be using file based encryption which will be present when you boot the ROM.
No need to enable it. Just don't disable it....
Most of the Nougat ROMs for Mi 6 support file based encryption now so all you need do is FORMAT data (not just wipe) and it will be present.
My suggestion would be to install and MIUI stock ROM and then format data (that includes internal storage so backup if you are using it now).
Then reboot and start phone as clean device.
There doesn't seem to be an advantage to using ROMs that don't have file based encryption and then trying to enable it later.
Rom either has FBE or it doesn't have encryption at all for me :/
Does it work for you? How do you confirm this?
I did format from TWRP, ran through setup and took a photo.
I still can access files and can see the content without entering any password from TWRP.
By default all encryption options are unset in MIUI.
You are saying right things if that would be vanilla Android but it seems something is broken in MIUI.

I flashed last global stable rom (1.9Gb .tgz) using mi flash tool after a format data in twrp and the device was encrypted by default. I only had to switch on "encrypt using lockscreen password" in privacy settings. But i don't know why even though i flash twrp the stock recovery returns after every reboot

You have to disable the stock recovery being reflashed from system with a script.
Not sure where you get that though it comes default with Coffaces TWRP.
Are you using the official TWRP?
If so does it work properly?

SYSTEM & DEVICE > Additional settings > Privacy: Advanced # Encrypt phone
If this it then that is point #2 from my initial message and that never finishes with any ROM I tried
So you say this is enabled right after the flashing and you did not actually ran "Encrypt phone" from this menu (that only works if battery charged above 80%)?
And when you boot into TWRP it asks for a password?

Never had to manually encrypt no.
Just choose a ROM with FBE enabled. That includes MIUI stock.
Flash it and then format data with TWRP.
On first boot it creates the encryption.
Then when you set a password this is your key.
When you boot to TWRP it will ask for the password to decrypt. Password is your pin.

Did you flash it via TWRP and formatted without reboot in the same session within TWRP? That is probably the only way I did not try.

Yeah that would be the best way.
Formatting data deletes entire SD card so back it up to PC!
Hello XDA,
I tried editing the build.props file, and completely forgot I'm using magisk and therefore am running systemless...
Now my phone won't boot.
I can still get into TWRP, but I can not find the build.props file anywhere using the file manager.
Would anyone be able to share their build.props file and tell me where to put it? Pretty please?
That or I suppose a clean image I could flash... Because Right now, nothing will start...
It boots now by reflashing MIUI, see here:

I suppose that should have been part of my message, my bad.
I was using the basic MIUI on my phone, and I'd like to keep using it.
Though I guess I'm open to alternatives.

You'll find stock MIUI for apollopro. Though, I don't know if your phone will boot.
If it doesn't boot, format data and wipe everything you can from TWRP(the custom acovery will be flashed back to the stock one, so flash TWRP again), then flash stock MIUI from TWRP.

No, you're right. My phone still won't boot. Do you know why that would be?
Edit: Didn't see your edit, it'll try that.
Edit 2: It booted now. Thank you kindly, friend. You're a lifesaver.
Hello, I have installed a custom ROM, a kernel, TWRP, Magisk and some modules. I want to remove all of them and revert the phone back to the latest stock rom provided for my region (Greece). Unfortunetely, I haven't found any guide and so I decided to make this post.
Is there anything I can study in order to do this? I really dont mind relocking my bootloader as I may go back to custom rom in the future. What tools I need? What files?
Additional Info:
Model: Mi 10T
Firmware: V12.5.5.0 RJDEUXM
Custom ROM: Nusantara Project v3.2
Kernel: IMMENSITY -X 0.4j (14.08.21)
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you so much for the answer. If I understand correctly through this tool, everything will be reverted back to Stock, without any other input from my part, right? I also have a pin on the phone so it may be encrypted. Should I decrypt it first?

It should wipe everything on your phone so backup internal storage. Also there are options - Clean all, Clean all and lock you'll see them on lower right corner in MiFlash.

Hello, i noticed that some roms doesn't have APN preconfigured by default, so i investigated and the cause of that is an wrong apns-conf.xml file on /system/etc, so i extracted that file from AOSiP rom, tested on some Pie ROMs that didn't had it preconfigured and it worked perfectly, also i want to clarify, it will even work on other phones since this file is not an ROM specific file (i think it will even work on older android versions), is an file that many android ROMs (even Stock ROMs) do have.
Instructions:
When flashing ROM or do Factory Reset Wipes (Data, Dalvik/ART Cache and Cache):
1. flash this zip
That's all
On an already installed rom:
1. Flash this zip
2. Boot the ROM
3. Reset APN preferences
That's all
Note: this will even work even if you factory reset your rom unless you flash another rom or update that doesn't have this fixed, in that case, flash this again and it's fixed.
can this work without unlocked bootloader?
my bootloader wont unlock. It shows something like this:
(bootloader) Code validation failure with status 7

Well, it's an TWRP flashable zip, if you have TWRP, you can flash it, alternatively, if you have root, you can extract the system file and then put into respective folder and give 0644 permission

Nope, it's not neccesary, when you reset APN preferences, you should get mobile data, still, you can do it
