By settings you mean the system setings?
If yes, then it can be bought back only if you had the google sync on and try and run the setup mode again, and rerun the auto sync backup from google.
Else, if you are rooted, try and replace the settings file (if you have a abackup in local somewhere), in the settings folder.
Sorry, but then if the 2 options are not there, then reflash.
The Settings.apk is missing ... I tried even getting it from a flashable rom but it is not compatible in the rom Im in..

Today I read a little guide from youmobile, about installing the new camera in android 4.2. (cant post link since im new)
I did everything except I forgot to backup first. Now everytime i start up the phone, open camera or open gallery it comes "Gallery has crashed".
Anyone knows what I might have done wrong? I used ROM Manager -> Boot into clockwordmod recovery -> flash zip -> and i chose the zip.
The camera is working trough apps like Snapchat, but not trough the stock app.
I could also use the stock 4.1.2 gallery and camera .apk so I atleast can get back my camera.
I am running on 4.1.2 takju nexus, with Air Kernel 3.0.46.
Please help.

try this zip. it's fixed so that everything should work.

if you still get crashes, you may want to reflash your Rom (without wiping).
also try fixing permissions, either in clockwork or rom manager

Thanks. I'm new tho, so what do you mean by fixing permissions. Could you give me step by step?
Go into recovery(CWM) and select the fix permissions option (might be under advanced)
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus
Installing the .zip file already fixes permissions. Have you tried renaming the apk to Gallerygoogle2.apk in your preferred file manager?
second post, the link works perfectly.
Thanks!
Ok after much long suffering today with my s3. i finally got my cm rom up and running, iv had my s3 rooted for a while now but today decided to flash my first rom usuing rom manager. so i had troubles with cwm finally got that going...then flashed my rom...that was good...then udated it and it was stuck in the boot animation forever and i couldnt get it to get to recovery for about an hour....finally got it into boot....but then no recovery files to be found....but I did back up my rom with rom manager and my apps and data with titanium backup..bt nothing was in recovery to be found...so i just went through factory reset and finally got it to go past the boot screen and got my rom working again........so now how do i get my apps and backup data....there is no playstore app in my app page...so i thought no biggie just downlad from online...but playstore wont let me download any of my apps back onto my s3 .... when i look through the file manager it looks like everythings been erased...even on my sd....but there are files from my apps and data...sooooooooooonowwhat?
sincearly...the biggest nooob in the world apparently and formal isheep
Don't ever use ROM manager to flash or bqckup anything. . Do all that in recovery so you can assure it was done.
So next step....what ROM version did you download specifically?
Look in a folder called 0. If you are on a variant of 4.2 android its all stored in there...what used to be in your data folder. Its a new folder system for having multiple users.
You did flash Google apps correct ?

Hi I was running a stock note 2 rom.
I had my phone flashed to a verizon through this service (www.remotewirelesstech.com)
I then rooted with (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957155) this toolkit.
Had no problems, flashed Jelly Bomb rom.
Used it for about 2 months.
Wanted to fix the mms and youtube issues I was having so I followed this from their site: http://www.remotewirelesstech.com/faq.html
I was unable to launch the ##3282# command due to the limitations of a non stock rom.
...
So I then created a backup of my rom (jelly bomb) through TWRP (latest version)
wiped data, and caches.
installed stock rom.
fixed my mms and youtube issues.
tested and they worked fine.
**I was told that these setting stay even after a new rom has been installed**
So I booted into TWRP removed the rom and restored my backup.
Now I cannot open youtube anymore and my mms is not working.
So my question is...
1) can this somehow be fixed in my jellybomb rom? So that I can dial these sprint codes?
2) Will it fix the errors If i reflash the rom from scratch?
3)Or should I look for another rom with this functionality?
** Also I have tried to replace the csc folder to no avail. (not sure how to do it) ( I removed the csc folder from a stock rom image and zipped it and tried to flash it and it failed) i then tried to removed the old folder from fs explorer and it cannot be done, i then tried to copy the files to the dirs and it worked but still cannot dial the codes. ** This can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043019
Im so lost, please help.

Sorry for making this topic but I have a problem that make me really sad.
The problem is,
when I go to about device/update, there is an update (45mb or something) available. I can download it with no problems.
I can install it and the phone reboots. But now the problem occurs. He is installing the update but when it reach 25% it stops, an Android with a red cross appear and the phone go to the login screen (pin code). When I'm back on my home screen a pop up displays a text that I must try with KIES or go to a Samsung centre.
But I can't use KIES because it says that my device firmware isn't compatible.
I have rooted my Galaxy Note II N7100 in the past with the FRAMAROOT one click root app and has do the following (mod) things:
- Xpose multi window mod
- installed the Nexus camera with photosphere function. (no flash)(just placed the apk and the lib in the folders manually
- Lucky patcher
- place some galaxy s4 apk like storyalbum but never overwrite existing things in system/apps
- I have downloaded freedom but I have deleted it forced stopped it and deleted data
I have unistall the xpose mod with in app options + total clean up.
I chose the Unroot option in framework.
I never installed or flashed my phone in the past. So I have the stock rom
I'm very scared of flashing my device (with PC Software) because I really won't lose any of my data.
I just want to install that update without losing data. It make me feel very sad.
I CAN download the update but if I install it, it stops at 25%
please help.

Remove all system apps that weren't there by stock. Also replace overwritten ones (if any) with factory versions. Remove Nexus camera from system apps too. Xposed shouldn't affect anything. I have no idea what Lucky Patcher or Freedom is, so can't tell if it's them.
Thanks for your reply!
Must I also delete the lib files. for example when I installed S translate I must also copy some data to the lib folder to get it works properly.
If so I have a little problem because I won't remember with file is added and wich one is stock.
And I dit also the music mod (make phone loader)
I hope this will 100% work.
Thanks

@wada7o:
It this a save method?
I have heard that you must wipe data and I want to keep all my data.
And I have heard stories about broken boot loops. Sounds very bad.
And after all this, is there a way to get rid of all that odin and root stuff so I can receive new OTA updates in the future?

It's perfectly safe to flash firmware with Mobile Odin, done it multiple times. No need to wipe as long as you're going from stock rom to stock rom. Never had a bootloop myself!
And as for getting rid of root stuff, that'd include wiping your phone, sadly.
As said its 100% safe method no wipe required as long as keeping counter 0 and system normal using triangle away you will get ota update

okay, thanks to wada7o my update is finally installed, thanks
But now I have another annoying problem.
When I go to about device / update , I got an error with the text 'unable to update firmware due network or server error. Try again later or use KIES'
No I can't download the great jellybean 4.2 in the future.
How to fix this. The future jellybean update is very important for me.
And does the mobile odin thing works with this future update (Android 4.1.2 to Android 4.2.2)?

Isn't it easier just to flash new ROM with Odin?
If your device has been rooted, you can't update it via OTA or KIES. You can look for Dr.Ketan post. He got the newest updates for GNote 2.

You probably changed something you shouldn't have. Wiping data/cache can only remove the apps you used to alter things, but it won't touch the system files or kernel files you have already altered. You need flash the ROM or firmware that you are using again to get your files back to normal. Make sure you backup your data first.
com.android.systemui has stopped for grand i9082
Hi,
I had upgraded from 4.2 to 4.4.4 as mentioned in the link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2603219)
I have flashed the custom ROM (CYANOGENMOD) on my samsung galaxy grand i9082,
I was able to use this ROM perfectly for a weeks time.
But when I had changed the clock details (center alignment & Font)
I got the "Unfotunately com.android.systemui has stopped",
To resolve this I had done a hard reset (fornatted data/cache/dalvik cache and reinstalled the ROM)
but now I am getting this showstopper error during the first boot itself - I have not even been able to open the App drawer or settings menu.
Please help.

Download your tar file for stock rom from sammobile.com Download Odin.
Unzip the zip file to get tar. Go to download mode in phone and connect to PC. Open Odin and put the tar file in PDA. Check only autoreboot and f time reset. Leave others unticked.
Press start and wait for ROM to be flashed. It will take some time( unplug only after it says pass with green light).. After stock ROM is flashed, factory reset again. Then flash your custom recovery and your desired ROM. Remember , while flashing custom ROM, follow the instructions given in the respective thread.
This will be a clean install and the errors will go away, at the cost of your internal data being wiped.
