You probably changed something you shouldn't have. Wiping data/cache can only remove the apps you used to alter things, but it won't touch the system files or kernel files you have already altered. You need flash the ROM or firmware that you are using again to get your files back to normal. Make sure you backup your data first.
com.android.systemui has stopped for grand i9082
Hi,
I had upgraded from 4.2 to 4.4.4 as mentioned in the link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2603219)
I have flashed the custom ROM (CYANOGENMOD) on my samsung galaxy grand i9082,
I was able to use this ROM perfectly for a weeks time.
But when I had changed the clock details (center alignment & Font)
I got the "Unfotunately com.android.systemui has stopped",
To resolve this I had done a hard reset (fornatted data/cache/dalvik cache and reinstalled the ROM)
but now I am getting this showstopper error during the first boot itself - I have not even been able to open the App drawer or settings menu.
Please help.
New to xda

Download your tar file for stock rom from sammobile.com Download Odin.
Unzip the zip file to get tar. Go to download mode in phone and connect to PC. Open Odin and put the tar file in PDA. Check only autoreboot and f time reset. Leave others unticked.
Press start and wait for ROM to be flashed. It will take some time( unplug only after it says pass with green light).. After stock ROM is flashed, factory reset again. Then flash your custom recovery and your desired ROM. Remember , while flashing custom ROM, follow the instructions given in the respective thread.
This will be a clean install and the errors will go away, at the cost of your internal data being wiped.

I have t999 from t-mobile, I rooted using galaxyS3root.com method
what I did:
1)I copy "Stock Deodexed T999UVDMD5".zip file to exSD card
2)I boot in ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.2.8
3)I did full wipe/factory reset/wipe cache/dalvik cache
4)choose Use exSD to install zip file
then I see this (for 10sec):
Installing: /external_sd/d2tmo_T999UVDMD5.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Install from sdcard complete.
-------
all this update took 10sec
then I hit reboot
and I see Samsung logo and nothing else for 25min.
I remove battery and all the same
The Volume down+home+power key is still working as well as the volume up+home+power key.
Please help
Try to dOwnload to the computer then transfer the Rom to the sd card and flash from there. Maybe a bad download.

When you were wiping cache, dalvik cache and did a factory reset you forgot to wipe system.
It takes a lot longer than 10 seconds to flash any rom.
Good luck!

Like I said, you still have not wiped "system"
also flash from internal SDcard not the external.
Put the zipfile on the root of your internal sdcard
do a full wipe/factory reset/wipe dalvik/wipe cache and then WIPE SYSTEM
Then flash the zipfile rom from INTERNAL SDCARD

if it still is not working, then your CWM has something wrong with it.
You really should install Goomanager and use TWRP instead of CWM its so much better.

ok, here are the instructions. This is the new PRE-ROOTED T999 4.1.2 odin flash rom which was released yesterday.
Easy and sure way to return your phone to stock rooted condition: Here is the step by step guide:
After you have followed these instructions your phone will be in stock condition with the benefit of being rooted.
Download the stock Samsung Galaxy S3 Jellybean v4.1.2 T999 stock-rooted firmware: http://d-h.st/Arn
After downloading make a folder on your computer's desktop and unzip the
file using Winzip or 7zip so the .TAR file is in the new folder you just made.
Download and extract Odin into the same folder you made containing the TAR file
Here is the link for Odin: http://d-h.st/Q14
Download ODIN which is required for flashing the stock rooted firmware (a windows app)
Download the Odin Flash firmware for T999 Tmobile then copy it to the same folder as Odin
Run Odin by double clicking the Odin.exe within the same folder as the TAR file you extracted
Turn off your phone and boot into DOWNLOAD MODE (Volume Down + Home + Power Hold until phone powers up, then release and press Volume Up to enter Download Mode)
Once in Download Mode, connect the USB/Charger cable to the phone and plug into the USB port on your computer.
You should now see a COM** port listed toward the top-left of Odin (under ID:COM)
Click on the PDA button in the middle-right area of Odin.
Browse to and select the Firmware you downloaded (TAR file)
Make sure Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options checked and that PDA is the only other thing checked.
TRIPLE CHECK your settings and that you have selected the correct firmware for your model phone and are using the correct options.
If you are using a laptop, make absolutely sure you are plugged in, or if on battery, that it is charged enough and will not go into sleep mode during flash.
Click Start to begin the flash. This will take a while, so be patient!
Once complete, in the top-left box in Odin, it will say PASS and the phone should have automatically rebooted.
You may unplug the phone and close Odin if you wish.
Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the system to boot the first time and then build its cache!
(It may seem to hang during boot, this is normal and you must have a a lot of patience!!!)

And if it still doesnt boot, wipe data, dalvik, etc again after flashing your rom. Then reboot again. Doesnt always do it, but definitely worth trying.
Also, what version of android were you running before trying that rom? That is also often caused by an incompatible kernel. So if you were running ICS or CM, and you didnt flash the correct kernel, that will very likely be the problem.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
All the custom ICS/JELLYBEAN , and CM, aokp/aosp roms comes with kernels, so if those roms are defective it has nothing to do with odin flashing this stock rooted rom with the included kernel, modem and everything else it needs to work properly.
Be sure to make a nandroid backup of it once you get it working properly, and before you do anything else to the phone.
Yeah, I just thought id throw that out t here in case anyone else runs into similar issues.

the funny thing is I did nandroid backup Before I "flash" this rom - I try to restore it now, but it says that MD5 is mismatch (and I didnt even rename folders/files in this back up) . I google it and found that I need to empty content of .md5 file before restore - and that did the trick. I restored successfully back to my previous v4.1.1 UVDLJC.
Now if anybody can help me to apply "Stock Deodexed T999UVDMD5".zip again? I just would like to know why it didnt work???

"installopenrecoveryscript" from the menu and wait until it
get's done, keep a close eye on the phone cause when it's done
it will display tiny text on bottom of screen saying "successful".
#4: there is an option in goomanager to reboot into recovery do
that and you will see the TWRP recovery when the phone reboots.
After that it's self explanatory.
Remember to do a full wipe/factory reset/wipe cache/dalvik cache and wipe or format "system".
Then you can flash the new 4.1.2 stock rooted deoxidized Jellybean T999 rom.
don't worry about the modem, this stock rooted rom does not contain any so it will use your existing one.

Dear all, please refer my conversation with sotmax about why i am getting a camera failed message on V8....
Problem though, camera STILL wont work, i had stock and it worked, went to carbon rom and it didnt, i was told to wipe /sytem when i installed carbon? is that maybe the cause?
SO going to revert back to stock the go straight to V8, how do i go back to stock though?
Chaza218
Download odin installer and a stock fw my friend. Go to download mode by pressing vol down home and power and flash it
) ) ) over the air on GN2 ( ( (
Ok, i got odin ,re flashed stock, re rooted, install CWM , installed V8 and STILL the camera wont work, and i checked it when I installed root and it did work then
What is going on!
chaza218
Hmmmm....that lead to hardware my friend. Maybe the rom you flasged destroy your cam or its just quincidence and you need new cam.
A week ago my note was back for replacement as gyro sensor broje and got a new one...
) ) ) over the air on GN2 ( ( (
Cam cant be broken, when i flashed the stock rom it worked?
chaza218
then if you flashed stock and is ok wipe data factory reset with stock and flash V8 after wipe
So to check, your saying I shoudl flash back to stock, root it, install CWM, then do factory reset, wipe davlik cache, wipe /cache, then flash v8?
Should i wipe /system?
also, i have checked, the MD5 of my V8 download is correct 100%
chaza218
Yes exactly that....you dont need to root. Root is needed only if you want to keep stock.
Just flash official then do a hard reset unrooted reboot to download mode flash philz touch recovery with odin(pda) wipe everything inside recovery and flash v8.
Notice that i have done a small mistake in v8 i forgot neak kernel file so if you choose neak kernel will not be flashed. Choose redpill instead...is better. I m uloading fixed version....
) ) ) over the air on GN2 ( ( (
But dont i need to root it to install CWM ? What is philz touch recovery? i was using redpill anyhow. After i have done all of that do i then root it?
Chaza218[/QUOTE]
No need of root if you re gonna flash a rom my friend.
My rom is pre rooted so the only thing you want is a good recovery.
I m suggesting this Philz touch.
Is absolutely the best.
In this link there are all files for root and recovery.
You just skip rooting
I have also a guide of how to do it
https://www.dropbox.com/s/154r7fx8y5..._by_sotmax.zip
Unzipp it in your pc and open the read me file .
You simply flash recovery then wipe data cache and dalvik and flash rom
This has still not solved my camera issue, does ANYONE have any idea??
chaza218
Conversation was quite hard to follow, hence I have a programme questions:
1. Do you currently have a properly functioning recovery programme (whether it be CWM or TWRP)?
2. Are you more or less acquainted with how to flash zips on your phone using the recovery programme. You say this all started by you flashing a ROM so flashing zips is following the same method so you should be able to do it.
If the answer to both questions is yes, then go here and download the zip file.
Place it on the external sd card of your phone.
Enter recovery mode (press volume up + power + home until Galaxy Note 2 splash screen appears).
Select the zip from your external sd card through the recovery programme and flash it.
Reboot your phone.
You now have 2 extra apps: Camera and Gallery.
Both of these are of the latest 4.2 firmware and your default system Camera and Gallery apps are now useless.
If all goes well, you now have a rather awesome and properly functioning Camera and a complementary Gallery.
???
Profit.
Let me know if it works out for you.
I can flash zips and everything yes, and my current gallery app works. When i boot camera app atm it says "camera failed"
In that case, follow this link: http://d-h.st/aIy
Download the file and flash it on to your phone. Again, let me know when you've done this and if it has worked.

Nope, didn't work. My stock camera says camera failed and the gallery works, while the 4.2 camera says that cant connect to the camera, and the 4.2 gallery is empty

I have already reply to you my friend.

Many apologies. Will do and get back to you
Thread closed per OP's request.
First Yes i have searched and i found several posts but none had enough information or ended up with directing the op to the de-brick thread I feel its not bricked and I don't want to run into more problems.
Here is how it goes down
using 4.2.1 Rom
using CWRM 6.0.3.1
I tried to encrypt my phone (don't ask me why as if i could go back in time i wouldn't have tried it)
So first it would only boot to the screen that says encryption failed factory reset and try to encrypt again and has a restart button at first nothing worked even the Rom UI would crash at this point and the restart (software button) on the screen was unresponsive. I then went into recovery and tried to load a recovery and it could not mount /data as it read as it was secured. So i went and formatted it and was successful with restoring a backup Although as soon as it booted again it brought me right to that same screen?
I am going to try to start over with a new Rom installation while i wait for a reply.
I just hope i can get it done simply without Odin or connecting it to my PC as i tend to not have good luck with that. IDK whats up with my PC.
Anyway if a simple Rom install fixes it ill be happy but something is still there saying i want to encrypt it or IDK what is causing it to go to the encryption failed page when I have formatted all but /sdcard (i was afraid to unless I'm told) I know everything else is fine /system /data /cache are all replaced by the Rom so i know its OK to format them but /sdcard is all the data on the phone so I'm not afraid of losing music ringtones pictures etc if i do need to format /sdcard but i want to be told i should first
also please ask me for any in formation you may need i want to fix this and also i need to go find a Rom so also a Rom suggestion is fine too (if its going to help otherwise I'm going to find a basic 4.2.1 Touchwiz based Rom and flash that

THANKS I tried flashing a fresh ROM after formatting everything now im in a boot loop and as it not bricked (soft bricked anyway) i was hoping a new route66 via Odin would be my main option.
Now as far as it goes on updating to 4.3 what file should i flash via Odin? should i use T999_UVDMD5 to get it working again then use T999_UVUEMJC to update to 4.3 (how i went from ICS to JB so would it be the same to KK ,4.3,) or can i just do a single Odin to T99_UVUEMJC so I u can be ready to use 4.3 roms. I just want to make sure because if I don't' have to use a 4.13 route 66 ROM to com back from this boot loop can I skip the step of using Odin to UN soft brick my 4.1.2 and go straight to 4.3.
I just want to know the best way to go about eventually being able to load 4.3 roms on this phone more because they are easier to find (as in more developed at this time) and to be update
I appreciate all your help and in case any ROM devs are reading this I love your work each and every one of you make this place better i wish i had the (first smarts) and second the time to mod for myself but over the years you guys are just awesome and i wish i was at any of your levels (all who post or even mod for themselves) as if i knew what you did i would not be in the predicament either and if i can fix it i will be pleased with myself as i bet most or all devs could fix this issue in 5-10 min where you can see Ive been at it days! Thanks in advance for any future help and most of all so far thank to you Perseus71 for helping me start
Never EVER flash UVUEMJC. Let's first get you back working with UVDMD5. Once that's achieved, I will get you 4.3 by another way.
For now, If you are right now on that bootloop/softbrick with just the UVDMD5, then great. If not go back to recovery, factory reset and wipe the cache and Re-flash UVDMD5 via Odin. This time, in Odin, make sure to uncheck Auto Reboot.
Once Odin has succeeded, Flash a custom Recovery such as TWRP via Odin. After that is done, reboot to recovery. Wipe Dalvik and Cache and then reboot normal.

I have partitioned my phone incorrectly. Phone is asking for a reset..
I deleted the /data and /sdcard because I formatted the internal storage and every time I reboot, I get a Encryption Unsuccessful message and it tells me to reset phone. I did but same message. What should I do??
Here's my phone: Cherry Mobile Omega HD (IQ6A) / Xolo A1000 / Alps H100

Hi, I have been trying to flash a new ROM to my Note II.
It was on Official Stock 4.3 ROM and I flashed succesfully another 4.3 ROM based on stock with some Note 3 features using Philipz Touch.
Then I switch Philipz to TWRP in order to install DN3 V4 ROM and I made the wipes and format /data and I start flashing the ROM, and since that moment It stucks on the first screen.
When I try to flash a stock 4.3 ROM using Odin, It seems to flash correctly, but when I try to boot, it stucks again.
I can enter to recovery and download mode, I can install some ROMS using TWRP but when it finishes it shows "Unable to mount /data" and if I try to boot, It always stucks on fisrt screen.
I hope you can help me.
Do it again: format cache; davik; systems; data and install rom again. If not, flash cwm recovery via odin.
Good luck.

I really appreciate your help, but I can't fix the problem yet.
With CWM I can't make a factory reset, when I try to make it, it restarts the phone and it stuks on the first screen.
I have flashed stock ROMS with odin and it says PASS but when the phone boots It always stucks on the first screen.
Fear not.
I am fairly confident this will work, but read the whole post first
You tick erase all nand as well as the usual two options. Then boot into recovery (should give warnings about unmountable /data) and wipe data / factory reset. Then reboot and it should work / odin a stock rom as normal.
If that doesnt work / or instead you get the correct pit file and flash it as well as the rom and have four options ticked: pit, erase all nand + normal two.
If someone gave me their phone with the same symptoms as yours and said: fix it right now that's what I'd do. I'd also warn them I really need to do more research before doing this and using these two options in odin could brick the phone forever.
I hope this gives you lines of inquiry. I found many mixed messages with the erase nand option, most said nothing of merit except don't do it, some said you must wipe data first (which u can't), some said exactly what I've repeated, some say a pit is enough, others had many steps and files ive never heard of to solve the same issue. There is a large thread in the S3 forum about this, even got mentioned on xda proper. My brief cookie crumbs journey did not return any note 2 threads.
Remember one thing, before using odin, double check every detail. Battery, cable being used, files being used (right ones, md5s), right options ticked, computer is in good health, internet is off, Kies is not running. (I'm sure ive missed some)
Solved
I install again the stock kit Kat firmware and the problem was the same, but this time I boot stock recovery and there I made factory reset and that's it. Problem solved and Note boot normally.
Thanks for your help
With or without erase nand in odin?
No, I just flashed normally as all the stock firmwares
I see, thought you'd rule that out. Disappointing really. Glad ur sorted anyway. Remeber wiping data is important when changing roms, even if it's not always absolutely necessary.
Did you try TWRP or Philztouch ? Did you flash 4.3 stock rom?

hello everyone,
to make a long story short, I rooted my note 4. and ever since I've been having nothing but problems.
First I installed OJ6, and then I moved on to COK1 and things did not improve. I'm having serious lag issues, phone freezes while doing the most trivial things like using google maps, and randomly reboots itself.
I followed the steps for flashing each rom with a clean install; that is wiping all data, including internal memory.
at this point, I don't even care about being rooted, I just want my usable phone back.
Is there anything I can do to get my phone back , so that it wont freeze or reboot itself all the time? perhaps I should go back to an older band version???\
any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

I've had this occasionally after flashing too much stuff. If I were you, I'd backup everything, wipe the whole phone a few times, then Odin stock OK1 tar. From there, you can Odin TWRP, then flash a rooted ROM if you'd like, or stay stock

wipe the phone using TWRP right?
maybe I'm not doing this right but when I wipe everything (including internal memory) I get a message saying there's no OS.

Like beezar said, you need to start over fresh. Beginning from your current rom with TWRP recovery installed, do these steps.
1. Reboot to TWRP and do a factory reset then go into advanced wipe options and wipe everything exceptptsd-card and internal storage 3 times.
2. While still in TWRP go back and reboot to download mode and ignore any warnings about no os or root installed.
3. Download the stock OK1 rom tar from here. hhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64337077&postcount=115
4. Extract the downloaded tar zip then open odin and use the "AP" button to point to the extracted rom tar file.
5. Once it finishes LET THE PHONE REBOOT AND ESTABLISH A DATA CONNECTION.
6. When you are ready to root, and flash a custom rom then simply use odin to flash TWRP and then flash the rom in TWRP.

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond with detailed instructions. Much appreciated.
I never did step 5, so I'll be trying that. And afterwards I'll be flashing your ROM.
Thanks again.
Hope you had a nice Christmas and will have an even better new years!
another important thing that should be done
One thing i forgot to mention and I highly recommended. During step 5 from from above, also turn on gps as well as the other location options in settings and get a lock using google maps. Once you do this and have a working data connection THEN you can proceed to flash a custom rom including CM/AOSP based roms. This will save you from having gps and data issues when switching to a custom rom and it only takes a couple of minutes for piece of mind.
