Stuck on Samsung Logo screen after installing "Stock Deodexed T999UVDMD5" rom
Stuck on Samsung Logo screen after installing "Stock Deodexed T999UVDMD5" rom from this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2276645
I have t999 from t-mobile, I rooted using galaxyS3root.com method
what I did:
1)I copy "Stock Deodexed T999UVDMD5".zip file to exSD card
2)I boot in ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.2.8
3)I did full wipe/factory reset/wipe cache/dalvik cache
4)choose Use exSD to install zip file
then I see this (for 10sec):
Installing: /external_sd/d2tmo_T999UVDMD5.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Install from sdcard complete.
-------
all this update took 10sec
then I hit reboot
and I see Samsung logo and nothing else for 25min.
I remove battery and all the same
The Volume down+home+power key is still working as well as the volume up+home+power key.
Please help

Try to dOwnload to the computer then transfer the Rom to the sd card and flash from there. Maybe a bad download.

When you were wiping cache, dalvik cache and did a factory reset you forgot to wipe system.
It takes a lot longer than 10 seconds to flash any rom.
Good luck!

Like I said, you still have not wiped "system"
also flash from internal SDcard not the external.
Put the zipfile on the root of your internal sdcard
do a full wipe/factory reset/wipe dalvik/wipe cache and then WIPE SYSTEM
Then flash the zipfile rom from INTERNAL SDCARD

if it still is not working, then your CWM has something wrong with it.
You really should install Goomanager and use TWRP instead of CWM its so much better.

ok, here are the instructions. This is the new PRE-ROOTED T999 4.1.2 odin flash rom which was released yesterday.
Easy and sure way to return your phone to stock rooted condition: Here is the step by step guide:
After you have followed these instructions your phone will be in stock condition with the benefit of being rooted.
Download the stock Samsung Galaxy S3 Jellybean v4.1.2 T999 stock-rooted firmware: http://d-h.st/Arn
After downloading make a folder on your computer's desktop and unzip the
file using Winzip or 7zip so the .TAR file is in the new folder you just made.
Download and extract Odin into the same folder you made containing the TAR file
Here is the link for Odin: http://d-h.st/Q14
Download ODIN which is required for flashing the stock rooted firmware (a windows app)
Download the Odin Flash firmware for T999 Tmobile then copy it to the same folder as Odin
Run Odin by double clicking the Odin.exe within the same folder as the TAR file you extracted
Turn off your phone and boot into DOWNLOAD MODE (Volume Down + Home + Power Hold until phone powers up, then release and press Volume Up to enter Download Mode)
Once in Download Mode, connect the USB/Charger cable to the phone and plug into the USB port on your computer.
You should now see a COM** port listed toward the top-left of Odin (under ID:COM)
Click on the PDA button in the middle-right area of Odin.
Browse to and select the Firmware you downloaded (TAR file)
Make sure Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options checked and that PDA is the only other thing checked.
TRIPLE CHECK your settings and that you have selected the correct firmware for your model phone and are using the correct options.
If you are using a laptop, make absolutely sure you are plugged in, or if on battery, that it is charged enough and will not go into sleep mode during flash.
Click Start to begin the flash. This will take a while, so be patient!
Once complete, in the top-left box in Odin, it will say PASS and the phone should have automatically rebooted.
You may unplug the phone and close Odin if you wish.
Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the system to boot the first time and then build its cache!
(It may seem to hang during boot, this is normal and you must have a a lot of patience!!!)

And if it still doesnt boot, wipe data, dalvik, etc again after flashing your rom. Then reboot again. Doesnt always do it, but definitely worth trying.
Also, what version of android were you running before trying that rom? That is also often caused by an incompatible kernel. So if you were running ICS or CM, and you didnt flash the correct kernel, that will very likely be the problem.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium

All the custom ICS/JELLYBEAN , and CM, aokp/aosp roms comes with kernels, so if those roms are defective it has nothing to do with odin flashing this stock rooted rom with the included kernel, modem and everything else it needs to work properly.
Be sure to make a nandroid backup of it once you get it working properly, and before you do anything else to the phone.

Yeah, I just thought id throw that out t here in case anyone else runs into similar issues.
Plus, im the type where even if doing one thing solves the problem, I still want to know what caused it to begin with!
Ive been seeing you all over these boards helping folks out and wanted to say you rock for all youre doing!

Thanks, I kinda like helping, but sometimes I help too much and get BASHED for doing it. LOL
But it's OK, it's all part of this XDA game here.
It's just too bad that each thread here does not have a live text "CHAT" option like in the newsgroups... That would be even more fun!

the funny thing is I did nandroid backup Before I "flash" this rom - I try to restore it now, but it says that MD5 is mismatch (and I didnt even rename folders/files in this back up) . I google it and found that I need to empty content of .md5 file before restore - and that did the trick. I restored successfully back to my previous v4.1.1 UVDLJC.
Now if anybody can help me to apply "Stock Deodexed T999UVDMD5".zip again? I just would like to know why it didnt work???

#1: copy the Stock Deodexed rooted T999UVDMD5".zip to the root directory of your INTERNAL SDCARD
#2: download Goomanager from the play store (a free app)
#3: open goomanager and click the menu button then select
"installopenrecoveryscript" from the menu and wait until it
get's done, keep a close eye on the phone cause when it's done
it will display tiny text on bottom of screen saying "successful".
#4: there is an option in goomanager to reboot into recovery do
that and you will see the TWRP recovery when the phone reboots.
After that it's self explanatory.
Remember to do a full wipe/factory reset/wipe cache/dalvik cache and wipe or format "system".
Then you can flash the new 4.1.2 stock rooted deoxidized Jellybean T999 rom.
don't worry about the modem, this stock rooted rom does not contain any so it will use your existing one.

[Q] Flashing the SyndicateROM seems to freeze for me

For the last two nights, I've tried to flash with this ROM (first ROM flash, the phone was purchased Saturday) and everything seems to going just like the YouTube video provided by qbking77, until the restart. On restart, the phone will stay on the screen that says, "Samsung" that you get when you restart the phone normally. the night before last, I lost patience after about 30 minutes and Odined everything back to stock. Last night, I let the phone try to restart all night and this morning, it was still stuck on the same screen.
Two questions about this. One, is this a normal length of time for the first time flashing a ROM? If not, what is? Two, What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for your advice (for course, I will give a "thanks" to answers).

I was running EC05. I coppied the ZIP file to my SD card, set the handset to UBS Diagnostics, ran the "run.bat", in CW3.whatever from my PC, cleared all three caches, three times, and loaded the ZIP file from the SD chip. I thought that CW3 converted to ext4.

If you're capable of using Odin, then just use the Odin CWM link in my signature. From there, you can flash a pre-rooted EB13 Deodexed Stock with CWM 3. You can update it to EC05, before you flash, after, or never, and you'll be fine.
I also have Syndicate Rom Frozen linked in my signature.
That should work for you.
I'll give that a shot when I get home and let you know how that works.
One of the things I did, was just reflash the ROM right overtop itself.
I have flashed this ROM many times, and every now and then the first flash wont take for whatever reason, I just pull the battery, go back into CWM, and reflash the ROM again right overtop itself, and it normally works.
note: boot times longer than 5-10 and you got an issue
Also, make sure you are using Clockwork Mod version 3.0.0.6 and not version 2.5.5, as 2.5.5 does not support EXT4, and I think that the ROM is EXT4
Odin a prerooted ec05 ext4 tar, I have 2 diff packages here on xda.. then flash srf over that.. good to go. I wouldn't even mess with the eb13 tar, because then you have to odin the modem again seperately...

That might be my issue, since the version that I was Odining was EB13 and then the carrier updated to EC05. That actually makes sense (although, I don't really know what the "under-the-hood" differences between the two are).

You would think, but I actually got a better official update to EC05 during my tests. Regardless, I actually have found EB13 to have better signal.
Either way, pre-rooted should make it easy for you.
Random,
Once I figured out exactly the steps to take, everything worked! WOOT! A thousand thanks to everybody who input in this!
For anybody out there having the same problem, follow these steps:
0) Download and install the drivers for your Samsung Epic 4G (Found here).
1) Download the ROM
2) Either copy the whole ZIP file onto your microSD Chip by using your USB cable or by unmounting it and using the SD slot adapter and plugging into the appropriate slot on your computer. (Just place it in the root directory)
3) Click on RandomKing's link above in his signature that says "CWM Odin" (this is a pre-rooted Sprint stock ROM)
4) Uncompress the file onto your Desktop (it's an RAR file, so you're going to need either WinRAR or 7ZIP).
5) Turn your phone off and unplug your USB Cable.
6) While holding the "1" key, power up the handset (you'll get a funny looking icon of the Android shoveling)
7) Plug in your phone in to a soldered USB port (as in ON THE BACK of the machine).
8) Double click the Odin3+v1.61 file.
9) Add the .pit file to the "pit" box.
10) Add the other file to the "PDA" box.
11) Click "Start" button.
12) Wait for it to finish and reboot.
13) Reboot again, this time your going to use the "3-button-power-on" (While holding the down volume button and the camera button, power on the phone)
14) Clear your caches (three times each: data/factory reset, cache partition and Dlavik cache [that's under advanced], by scrolling to them in the menu and pressing the camera button)
15) Select "Install zip from SD Card"
16) Choose your ROM and press the camera button
17) This should take something less than 15 minutes total, including restart
18) Enjoy your New Phone!
What version of the ROM are you trying to flash? I was having the same issue when I tried to flash the "journaling" version of the rom that is posted over on ppc geek. No matter what I did It would hang at the Samsung logo.

[Q] [HELP] Bootloop after MB1 Updates.

So I (like an idiot), tried installing the MB1 update without doing a backup first and now my phone is stuck in a boot loop. It gets to the Samsung logo after the sprint animation. I've tried wiping data and the dalvik cache as well as fixing permissions. At this point I think my only option remaining is to reflash everything in odin. Where can I find up the lastest files in the format for odin or does anyone else have any better ideas?

It sounds like you have a custom recovery... is it TWRP or CWM? If it is one of these, what version are you running?
Back to the solution to your problem... If you just want the stock MB1 Rom (rooted), head over to Freeza's thread and download his Rom. It really does wonders. Since you can't turn your phone on, you'll have to download it to your computer and transfer it over to your phone. Here's how you do it:
Boot into recovery, connect to comp with USB cable.
In TWRP, choose "Advanced" Mount and Mount USB. (CWM should be somewhat similar)
Copy the ROM zip over to your phone.
Wipe system, then cache/dalvik.
Flash ROM
Reboot
You will have to go through the phone setup from scratch (no backup), but it's better than a paperweight. Hope this works for you.
Edit: Also, I promised CNexus that I'd link to his OTA sticky thread, where he has done a really good job of summarizing the various steps you can take when you get an OTA update notification

Sorry should have mentioned I have TWRP 2.4.4.0 installed and I was actually running the update from the thread you mentioned. (Coming from mostly stock, just using the KT747 kernel). I flashed the Odex update zip and then the modem update zip. I was going to try flashing the full rom, but I can't find the mount USB option. (I just checked again at your advice but it's not there for some reason)

You couldn't find it because I gave you bad directions. Oops, my bad. The option to Mount USB Storage is in the Mount menu, not the Advanced Menu. I'll edit my original post. I'm currently running TWRP v2.4.1.0, but it shouldn't have been removed.

I updated to TWRP 2.4.4.0 to see what's going on. You're right, it's gone. This kind of sucks, since I always held that in my back pocket when flashing Roms. Nothing in their changelog says that they removed the option. Well, you can still copy files using adb, but that's a hassle. Do you have a micro-sd card adapter for your SD card so you can at least copy from your computer for that?

I don't even have a microSD card. I've been flashing from the phone. Using adb is a good idea though. It shouldn't be that hard if I'm moving just one file.
I would double check the md5sum before moving, just in case you had a bad download.
Hope it works!

Naddict has a good list of recoveries that are flashable from the recovery itself. Here's a link to the thread. If you do eventually decide to go back to TWRP for your Recovery, I'd recommend using the 2.4.1.0 version, as I have confirmed that it does have USB storage.

Well I realized it too late, but I could have used the adb sideload flashing (like the stock recovery). The inclusion of that is probably why they removed the USB storage option.

[Q] I soft bricked my phone...

Last night I soft bricked my phone. At least from what i have read it is a soft brick. The phone will power up to the Samsung Galaxy s3 screen. I can also get into download mode and cwm. I am hoping this means that phone has been soft bricked.
As far as why my phone did this...I booted into cwm and i did a restore through the menu options. I'm not sure if i hit the wrong one, or what exactly happened at this point. Whatever it was loaded and i was unable to get past the gs3 screen.
I tried loading a .Tar file from a tutorial provided by "Theexcel". The tutorial was to flash the new tar onto the phone through Odin. However, in the tutorial, it says to make sure that the flash counter is set back at zero. How can i do this when my phone won't power on. I am not aware of how to reset the counter without getting an app from Playstore.
As you can see, I am new to the forum. I posted here because this seems to be a similar topic.I have ready many other instances of bricked phone. none of them seemed to match my exact scenerio. Please let me know if you have any ideas. I tried to address what i think my be wrong with the phone and some of the steps I have done to try and repair it already. I will gladly provide answers to more specific questions.
Just to clarify Tmobile Galaxy S3 (SGH-T999)
Flash counter not relevant in your case.
Factory reset through recovery should fix your issue.

I may have done this wrong. I think I have tried this though. home+volume up+power, this brings me to my cwm recovery. I did the full wipe and factory reset. after this it still didn't allow me past the gs3 screen. Should i somehow be using android recovery? if so, how do i get that to work again? Thanks
Weird. Try Odining a stock rom.

Thanks Aero! I have tried this already as well. the file i used was T999UVALH2_T999TMBALH2_T999UVALH2_HOME.tar.md5 . I believe this is the stock 4.1.1. Also, I have just heard of md5 checked. I am not sure how to use that solely on my computer. I found a tutorial for doing it on the phone. As you know...not an option right now. I am keeping my hopes up that I don't need to send my phone off for Jtag. Like i said, i can still access cwm and download screen.
I have searched around the forum quite a bit. Do you know of any good instructions to walk me through flashing the stock rom that also includes links to the rom and gapp?
Hold on....you can get into recovery? Once in recovery you just do a factory reset? Do you have a micro SD card? Do you have a micro SD card adapter so that you can connect it to a computer?

Sounds like a boot loop, not a brick. Boot to recovery and wipe data then try to restart the phone.

Don't worry about being a noob. Everyone on this forum is or has been a noob. You'll learn though.
Just follow these steps:
1.) Download this ROM on your computer (the latest from T-Mobile, stock rooted):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2126679
2.) On your SD card create a designated folder for ROMs (just to make it easier to find the ROM when it comes time to flash it), then find the ROM you have just downloaded and put it in the folder you have created on the SD card
3.) Power on the phone, Boot into recovery which is also known as CWM by (volume up, home button and power button)
4.) Once in recovery do the following:
-wipe cache
-wipe dalvik cache
-wipe date/factory reset
-install zip from external SD card
-navigate to the folder where you placed the ROM in step 2 and select it and and select yes to flash it.
-when finished flashing go back to the main menu and select reboot device
(Device may take a few minutes to fully boot so let the phone sit and do its thing)
5.) When phone is booted up, go through the setup process with your email and what not.
6.) AFTER GOING THROUGH THE SETUP PROCESS, REBOOT DEVICE BACK INTO RECOVERY (CWM) AND SELECT RESTORE/BACKUP, THEN SELECT BACKUP, WHEN FINISHED REBOOT THE DEVICE
7.) AFTER YOU HAVE REBOOTED YOUR DEVICE GO TO THE PLAY STORE AND DOWNLOAD THIS APP:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...tore/apps/details?id=com.j.y.daddy.customizer
8.) ONCE DOWNLOADED, OPEN THE APP (should ask for root permissions, hit accept) SELECT TOOLS, SELECT IMEI(S) BACKUP/RESTORE AND SELECT BACKUP.
You are now good to go, you may now flash and experiment with other ROMs. Stay away from the international s3 forum, just flash things that are meant for your S3 model, if you are not sure just ask the dev.
Sorry for the caps lock but steps 6, 7 and 8 will prevent you from major headaches. Especially 7 and 8. If you flash a ROM and your stuck on 2g/edge and your imei is zero, just download that app and open it and restore your imei. Step 6 is helpful just in case if you download a ROM and you run into your current problem you can just restore your backup and your phone will be fine.

If you have Odined a stock rom, how is it that you still have CWM? Did it fail? If you were able to successfully Odin a stock rom, then doing a factory reset should fix your problem.
UVALH2 is 4.0.4. http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SGH-T999&pcode=TMB#firmware
Try using mrRobinson's root66 of UVDLJC. root66 is identical to the official firmware .tar file in every way except that root has been injected into the system image.

First thing I would do is to remove the battery and put it into the freezer for a couple hours,
then put the battery back in the phone to charge. (wipe the moisture off the battery first).
I know this sounds like a weird thing to do, but it's an old school trick which works most the time.
Once the phone starts to charge leave it alone until it has a full charge, don't play with it til then.

Ok, i have loaded the provided .zip file to my sd card. however, it isn't showing up on my sd card when in recovery. It shows other files, but it won't show the new zip file or the new rom.
I see there is a setting under mount that says "mount external SD card" could this be the reason?
No. External SD mounting is broken on 5.5.0.4. Update it.

Thanks to everyone that helped me with my mistake. You guys are awesome!

What you have to do is go to the play store and download ROM manger, open ROM manager and install the updated version of cwm, then you shouldn't run into any more problem when flashing ROMs, just make sure the recovery is always up to date.

Samsung GS3 (d2att) not booting but have TWRP Recovery available

Hello all-
I was just recently running CM 10.2 RC1 but had to do an install of the correct gapps as it was randomly rebooting. Well the device now is stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S3 screen with the BLUE cyanogen. I have access to TWRP and am able to reflash the .zip file for CM 10.2 RC1 yet it still won't boot? I did the wipe of dalvik, cache, data and system but still no luck? The device is NOT recognized in Odin. I just want to get the phone up and running again, even if it means root is lost.
Please help!!

Yes it is recognized once in Download mode...sorry about that. What can I do to get it up and running? I am not new to flashing, etc so it's got me really upset that I cant get it to boot. What could possibly go wrong?
Get a sd card>download a new rom and put the rom in the sd card and flash like a normal ROM
http://fs1.d-h.st/download/00023/E5R/I747UCDLK3_I747ATTDLK3_I747UCDLK3_HOME.tar.md5 You can download that file and put it in the PDA section once you run Odin and run it from there. This will put your phone back to the Stock Rom 4.1.1 and you can restart from there if you want.

No, with the file I told you to download you do not need to have a SD card because you can't boot into the rom you have Windows will not recognize the phone like normal to drag and drop to it. So with this file you can save it to your computer, Open Odin, put your phone into Download Mode, plug it into the computer so that Odin detects it. Then Click PDA and browse to the file you downloaded and tell it to use that file and then Run the process and it will install the original rom onto your phone.

Can you get into recovery mode by any chance? If you can do that then it should be possible to do a factory reset from within Recovery Mode and possibly get you past the boot screen. If that doesn't help let me know and I will see what else I can find out for you. Also what all did you have checked and unchecked when you Ran Odin to reinstall the Stock Rom? If you had any of them other than Auto-Reboot on that may also have caused a problem http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722686 here is a forum that will show you how to use Odin. I apologize for not remembering about telling you what to check and uncheck. But try recovery mode first and do a factory reset and if that does not work, redo the odin install this time only having Auto-Reboot checked.

Thanks man! I went back into Recovery and did a factory reset/wipe data and it finally got past that screen. Thanks again for your guidance and help. Any ideas as to what could have possibly caused the issue in the first place? I do want to re-root the device again and I am assuming my best bet is to flash a Stock ROM like you referenced with ROOT injected? What order should I follow, flashing a Stock w/Root injected...and then the Recovery of choice? Or vice-versa? What do you recommend?
Again, your timely responses were greatly appreciated. Was really worried I would have to take it to ATT.

It could have been several things that could cause the ROM to do that. I recommend that you make sure that your Bootloader is up to date and then go from there. Download the newest CWM, do a backup of your current rom so that you can flash back to it if you phone messes up. Then when you try to install a new ROM make sure you Wipe: Data then Cache, then Dalvik Cache in Advanced then Format /System. Then from there Install the new Rom, then install the correct GApps, then wipe Cache and Dalvik cache then Reboot into System. It takes messing up a few times to get it right but as long as you follow the guides pretty close and keep a good backup that you know works or keep the knowledge of how to Inject the Stock Rom to your phone when it messes up you shouldn't have much to worry about.

Sounds good. Thanks for the info. Obviously the device is not currently rooted or did the Factory Rom file you gave me have root injected? Do you have a recommended way of achieving Root with the Samsung SG3? Just installing a custom Recovery won't achieve Root, correct?

Thanks for the information. The phone that has been all screwed up and the reason I posted a thread in the first place is my gf's GS3. I have her's rooted again and running. I am going to update her baseband version and then install a custom ROM so she's up to 4.3.1. As far as mine goes, I have been fine. I myself also still have the outdated bootloader version. Is it ok to just flash that update for the bootloader without it doing anything wrong? I'm asking this since I'm rooted and running a custom ROM with no current problems. In other words, I don't want to end up saying "it wasn't broke, why did I mess with it" ? I did bookmark that thread you referenced in your last message. Damn that thread is LOADED with just about everything one would possibly need to know about Android and making it their own.
So my g/f accepted the OTA update today (not knowing obviously) and she got updated to 4.3 via AT&T, unfortunately!! I attempted to flash the latest Liquid Smooth ROM and I continue to get a FAILED message during installation. It mentions a bunch of bootloader numbers ( I am assuming the only ones this ROM is compatible with?) So is there any way to roll the bootloader back to a compatible one or just go a different route for the custom ROM?
Also, I attempted flashing the file to update my baseband yet when I so into the device, it doesn't show as having the updated version? Is there a different way of doing it or maybe a different file?
I'm not to sure about the troubles that may come about since your gf went with the 4.3 OTA but If I am not mistaken it will need to be downgraded before you try doing anything else to it and if it is not showing that you updated your bootloader on your phone I recommend grabbing the App called Root Checker to double check then look for another file, tho unless it failed it should have updated it or messed up your phone one.

[Q] literally f'ed up my Galaxy W...

Long story short, I rooted my Galaxy W and then carelessly installed ROM's with Clockwork mod.
I would usually just load the zip of a rom to the SDcard and then boot in safe mode to prisitine install it that way.
Now, I want to go back to my stock rom and put everything back nice and clean.
I followed THIS tutorial, here's what I did.
1. Manually installed samsung drivers.
2. booted phone in Download mode. (phone was working as normal up until now, it had custom rom)
3. used Odin v4.43 - the one recomended in the tutorial and followed everything step by step.
The issue: Odin disconected the usb (I think he said smth about waiting for reboot). But the phone got on a boot loop.
The boot animation is the one of the stock rom... but now I can't even access clockwork mod.
Currently retrying the Odin flash again... in the meantime some help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
please, I am in desperate need of help... I can't even go to recovery mode and use my backup custom rom to get the phone to work...
I can't do anything else but flash the rom with Odin and the same error keeps happening! The phone gets a boot loop (restarting right after the boot animation).
I got the stock rom from Sammobile... I have no idea what to do. :crying::crying::crying:
I'll try to help as I can since i got this problem also b4. Having boot loop after flashing stock ROM
But the phone got on a boot loop on boot animation is the one of the stock rom

-select "wipe data / factory reset"
-go to "mounts & storage" and format /system. This is extremely important!
-under the same menu, format /sdcard (be careful NOT to format /external_sd by mistake)
3. After that, turn off you phone again then flash your stock ROM.
Good luck mate! :good:

I'll try to help as I can since i got this problem also b4. Having boot loop after flashing stock ROM
Files you need (download them and save under one folder. Kindly check MD5 before flashing)
1. Odin Multi Downloader v4.44
MD5 Sum: b8ce68edc61ad822733de676a6644185
2. Ancora.ops (in .rar so you need to extract it first)
MD5 Sum: 65831d136621d6d550d2a11a2e8111f3
3. recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.5-ancora.tar (in .rar so you need to extract it first)
MD5 Sum: 144ce4ffcf9f577e7e12562f3c5579d3
Steps:
1. Flash recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.5-ancora.tar.md5 via odin (I guess you already know how to do it). After successfully flashing, turn off your phone then boot into CWM recovery (manual way) press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power button together.
2. In CWM, do the the following. credits to @arsradu
-select "wipe data / factory reset"
-go to "mounts & storage" and format /system. This is extremely important!
-under the same menu, format /sdcard (be careful NOT to format /external_sd by mistake)
3. After that, turn off you phone again then flash your stock ROM.

That is correct. Small addition though, to avoid confusion: the internal memory in CWM might also be /sdcard0 in some cases, whilst the name of the /external_sd might be also /sdcard1. So /sdcard0 or /sdcard is what you should be aiming for, and NOT /external_sd or /sdcard1.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, you will need a tar.md5 version of CWM (you can get it from here) since, at this point, your recovery has been, most likely, replaced with the stock one. So you need to reflash CWM via Odin before attempting any wiping or formatting.
Thank you.

I'll update this post as I go along.
What you say confirms what I expected would be the problem. I forgot to wipe and format /system before flashing... I always assumed I couldn't f'up the recovery partition or clockwork mod so I thought it would be ok. You would imagine my concern when I realized I couldn't go into recovery mode.
So, I've flashed the recovery mode. Odin followed the process up until rebooting the phone. At that point, Odin was waiting for the phone to reboot, but it would be a long wait since the phone keeps rebooting. BUT, although Odin states the proccess is just halfway through "<1> Close serial port and wait until rebooting.", the recovery mod has been flashed and I can now navigate through it.
Since I'm flashing the phone afterwards I think I'm going to do a factory reset and format /system (like you said) but add to it the /cache and /data.
I don't need to worry about the external sd card since I already removed it.
Thank you - SOLVED
Pardon my language, but there is no easy way to say this.
I almost shat my pants as I saw the boot animation followed by the samsung logo. I was convinced I had gotten a boot loop again and was already thinking about an alternative to do this.
That's when the son of a gun shows me the android starting screen.
It's working like it just came out of the shop! It's even got all the bloatware... which is strangely satisfying.
I'm giving the phone, so I wanted to make sure of two things. Firstly that it would be bug free and second that if anything would happen there would be no trouble in taking it to the store for repairs. I think nothing would solve it better than having the stock rom installed.
And... ... it would be with a heartwarming thank you that I bid you goodbye my friends. I won't trouble you anymore with W's issues. From now on I'll be over the Sony S tablet section of the forum trying to muster up some courage to root it and find out if they already found a way to install custom roms in it.:laugh:
EDIT: A TL;DR version of this thread. If you flashed a ROM with Odin and something wrong and now you can't access the recovery mode. The solution is to flash a Clockwork mod recovery and use it to wipe the phone before attempting to flash it again.
But the sound advice would be Always factory reset and wipe the data in your phone before flashing a new ROM!
yaw. good luck!

You don't need to do anything else other than what i already said. When you select "wipe data/ factory reset" you clear data, of course, but you also clear cache, dalvik-cache and ./android_secure. So no need to do it separately.
About Odin and your issues, of course it won't boot when it says "wait to boot up" cause at that point you've got no (good) ROM to boot from. So you need to just follow those steps mentioned above (after reflashing CWM, of course) and then flash the stock ROM via Odin, if that's what you wish for.
Glad we could help and it was nice having you among us. Have fun with your new device.

Fun fact, I had the Sony S before I got the Galaxy W.
I also noticed that factory wipe/reset wiped everything, I just formated the /system and all the rest for redundacy's sake XD
Once again, thank you very much everyone for your help. I'll be around every now and then to say hi or to help those who forget to wipe their device before flashing a new rom XD
