Hello, i noticed that some roms doesn't have APN preconfigured by default, so i investigated and the cause of that is an wrong apns-conf.xml file on /system/etc, so i extracted that file from AOSiP rom, tested on some Pie ROMs that didn't had it preconfigured and it worked perfectly, also i want to clarify, it will even work on other phones since this file is not an ROM specific file (i think it will even work on older android versions), is an file that many android ROMs (even Stock ROMs) do have.
Instructions:
When flashing ROM or do Factory Reset Wipes (Data, Dalvik/ART Cache and Cache):
1. flash this zip
That's all
On an already installed rom:
1. Flash this zip
2. Boot the ROM
3. Reset APN preferences
That's all
Note: this will even work even if you factory reset your rom unless you flash another rom or update that doesn't have this fixed, in that case, flash this again and it's fixed.
can this work without unlocked bootloader?
my bootloader wont unlock. It shows something like this:
(bootloader) Code validation failure with status 7

Well, it's an TWRP flashable zip, if you have TWRP, you can flash it, alternatively, if you have root, you can extract the system file and then put into respective folder and give 0644 permission

Hi, I recently did a nandriod restore to go back to stock to get the 4.4.3 update, however, not only am I not getting the update despite being CID_001 I have god duplicated shortcuts in my dropdown shortcut box and my phone no longer recognises my sim card number, for my contact card, the phone works fine in all other ways.
is there anything I can do to fix this.
is it possible with a custom recovery to wipe the phone blank and then reinstall the nandriod back up rather than trying to restore over the old one?
Before you restore anything you always have to do the factors reset through custom recovery!!! And yes it is possible you can see it directly if you boot into the recovery...ALWAYS if you restore do the factory reset/ wipe cache, data, system and dalvik cache!

im just researching that at the minute, never done it before so a bit nervous... but I have two zip files one seems to contain the full odexed rom the other appears to be a firmware update same software number on the files but they arent the ones I have installed so I am worried i have the wrong ones
If you have the 2.22.401.3/4 firmware you can flash it and as long as you have the stock Rom 2.22.401.4 it will all work
---------- Post added at 09:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:30 PM ----------
Firmware will be flashed if you boot into fastboot and while phone is connected to pc open a command window in the location where the fastboot files are and type in fastboot oem rebootRUU
You also need to put the firmware.zip in that location but be sure some firmware.zip also wipes the internal storage, so please just look into the zip and please let me know which files are inside so I can say if it wipes the internal storage...it will also do it only if your phone is still s-on

i think my firmware is 1.54.401.10
I have the rom for 2.22.401.4 as zip
but I am not confident that how to flash that rom over my existing rom...
I think I can fastboot (fastboot boot Trecovery.img) into pilz touch, clear the phone for rom install and then install the zip using the custom recovery....???
the recovery for 2.22.401.4 is already flashed

You flash the Rom like all others, just do the factory reset there, flash the stock Rom and yea it should be fine, but it's better if you flash the 1.54.401.10 stock Rom, otherwise updates won't work if you use a Rom which needs a newer firmware are flashed on a device with older firmware...therefore either take the older stock Rom or take the stock 2.22.401.3/4 firmware.zip and flash it too but then you don't need to use stock recovery as you are then on latest base and you can flash then mods too as it will be annoying to always use the command to boot the recovery always if you want to flash anything
when I do "fastboot oem rebootRUU"
I see a grey HTC logo
I then do "fastboot flash firmware.zip" I get an error unknown partition firmware.zip
should this be "fastboot flash zip firmware.zip"?
So I have succesfully installed the new rom , and flashed the fitting firmware, but the problem is still there, when I pull down the notification bar and switch to quick settings, then edit settings i am still seing multiple duplicates of the shortcuts, and in setting about where it pulls my phone number from the sim card it still reports my number to be 000000000000 this is all very strange in deed
did a full system scrub twice and a new rom install and a factory reset...
guess I will have to live with it

everything technically works, phone emails sms the lot, one you set the 12 choices in quick menu you dont worry about the duplicates as you dont see them ever again unless you go to edit it.
its just I am a bit anally retentive about every thing being as it should be and not working despite the hicups
It would be really better to post screenshots of it xD
Please see attached:
first three are the quick menu options
the last is my phone number store option which effects things like contact card, and adding my number directly into apps like facebook and whatsapp
Anyone knows the solution to this multiple same things in quick settings?

after a lot of messing around, and resetting, I think I know the cause.
I will test for definite in about 8 hours when I get home, I believe its when you use htc back up and restore to restore setting after a factory reset.
I will be looking at putting developer ROM back on when I get home as today it rebooted and deleted system apps associated with rooting such as flash light
I find this odd considering I did not root this rom
I'm running cm 10.2.1 that I installed using cwm Recovery. I had to modify the update script using root explorer before the install but after doing that the install went smoothly and I haven't had any real issues with the ROM. I had almost given up trying to update to cm 11 but decided to try the install with philz recovery which actually worked. However, after the update to cm 11 my mobile data no longer works and I am not even able to connect to WiFi. At first I thought that this may have something to do with the APN settings since I am using the boost version of the sprint phone, but the APN settings on my cm 10.2.1 are set for sprint and work fine and they don't change once I install the update. Also, I don't know for sure but I don't even think that the APN being incorrectly set would effect my ability to connect to WiFi. Somebody please give me some advice on this. Thank you.

When you installed CM11, did you do clean install?
PhilZ has a setting where you can do a wipe solely for the purpose of installing a new ROM. (Philz is my one and only recovery.)
You cannot simply flash CM11 over CM10. You need to do a clean install, so you should use a backup utility to backup all your user apps. (You'll also want to download a GAPPs package that is compatible with CM11.)
APN configurations would not affect your WiFi connectivity. DIrty flashing CM11 over CM10 might, it could also be related to a custom kernel. Make sure if you're using a custom kernel, that it is compatible with whatever Android version you're using (e.g. 4.4.4)
Hope this helps.

What does the authentication error say?
Also, what build of CM11 are you using?
Make sure you are using the CM11 builds for d2lte:

Also, use the Philz recovery found here:

In the WiFi menu I choose my network and then enter the password and first It tells me "authenticating" which is normal, but then instead of connecting it just says authentication problem. That's all it says. I have tried turning WiFi off then back on, rechecked the password, reboot the phone and everything else I can think of.
This was the same for the 08/13/14 and the 08/14/14 nightly builds for the d2lte which I downloaded from the cm updater in settings>about phone>CyanogenMod updates. I used the app root explorer to extract the zip and then went in to the update script and modified it so that I would not get a status 7 error. Then I zipped the files back up like they were only now with the modified update script, and booted into recovery. I am using philz touch 6.48.4 for the d2lte which I flashed with mobile Odin pro. I chose the clean for new ROM option and then installed the ROM and then flashed the gapps-kk-20140105-signed.zip. then I rebooted the phone and began the set up process. It seems that everything works fine other than that I am unable to connect to WiFi.
I also tried the same process, except after cleaning to install a new ROM I also wiped the dalvik cache. This had no effect.

First and foremost, those nightlies you tested are Android 4.4.4. Here is a 4.4.4 GAPPs package: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23610159112653416
Why are you tweaking the updater script? This should not be necessary. I flash ROMs just fine with PhilZ. Also, you do not need to flash recoveries via ODIN. You can download the .zip (not .md5) file and flash it in recovery. The recovery will flash the recovery over the recovery.
When you reflash the ROM and you have a fresh clean slate on the phone, unplug the router for 30 seconds to power cycle the router, and plug back in. The router may be having an issue with the MAC Address to your network card in your phone.
You can show the password in the WiFi interface to ensure that you are typing the correct password. If you suspect that you are getting the password wrong, you can go into your router's settings and change the password. (e.g. http://192.168.0.1 --> Change the security settings).
Give it another shot. Do not edit the updater script. I've never had a status 7 error. If needed, reflash the recovery as a zip file in recovery.
I hope this helps.

Are you sure your mobile data is, in fact, switching off? There could just be some latency between the WiFi switching off and mobile data coming on.
You might try clean flashing the ROM again, or clean flashing a newer nightly altogether.
Hello. I have basically just taken information i found on the web and modified the stock lrx22c kernel for flounder lte. I modified the fstabs in the ramdisk, and changed them to "encryptable" instead of "forceencrypt". Credit to bbedward for the idea. Follow his guide at http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/development/disable-forced-encryption-gain-root-t2946715 and use the kernel I have provided below. You must fastboot flash boot boot.img(boot.img being the boot.img you download from here). After that, you must do a TRUE factory reset, or just wipe userdata. Which means you will lose EVERYTHING on your /sdcard. I just went into TWRP and selected the advanced wipe, format userdata. And after I rebooted, encryption was off. Good Luck!

I flashed the nexus 9 wifi only TWRP version, and it worked fine. Thats how I got root working. Check out my post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/general/root-nexus-9-lte-volantisg-t2986289 , it has the exact link to TWRP and supersu that I used to get root. Tell me the exact steps taken. What I did was first, unlock bootloader obviously. Then, fastboot flash boot boot.img, then boot into TWRP, goto wipe, select format userdata, you should have to type in the box "yes" to confirm. This procedure will wipe the ENTIRE data partition, including the internal SD. So if you did a wipe and you still had all your files on /sdcard, you didnt do the right wipe. Just to be safe I also did a factory reset. I am using this kernel right now as we speak. When you go into settings -> security where the encryption is, it has the option to turn on encryption, which means its currently turned off. It absolutely does work, but the proper steps need to be taken. Let me know if I can be of any help.

nope, I actually found a fix for the same issue, root your phone then delete /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf then flash your rom again (not sure if you need to clean data and cache) with odin and it should work.

The ROM controls the wifi, not the modem. Strange that multiple ROMs can't even be enabled, I suspect data is left somewhere, do full wipe to install a new ROM so all old data etc is wiped and make sure you are not installing app data etc from a backup for this.
Else it might be the kernel.........

I have been working on the sister models also. I saw no one was building these anymore so here it is I hope it can be enjoyed by all. Spread the word. provide feedback so other fans of this ROM may obtain it and work out any bugs if there are any. I will update once or twice a week depending on time and demand. I'm compiling for three different variants. Hit the thanks button and Enjoy. Dirty flash the updates not the initial flash of this rom but the updates to it. Initial install = Factory reset, wipe data and cache, install rom zip, install gapps zip, install su zip, reboot system. As of 9-3-18 i will be switching to Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic Beaver, that being said i do not know if i will have to change anything or do anything different to keep pushing these updates out but i will most definitely try to keep them coming.

It won't boot up for me. I installed the ROM after wiping my entire system through TWRP, flashed Gapps, and installed SuperSU provided by TWRP. When it boots up it says system isn't responding.

Wipe system, cache, and dalvik install rom zip install nougat Gapps and SuperSU all at the same time meaning do not reboot until you have flashed all three if it didn't work the first time try it again just make sure you wipe system, cache and dalvik and install the Gapps at the same time it sounds like it's booting up but conflicting with other elements otherwise it would be bootloop and not system isn't responding

Thank you for your rapid response! I will try that as soon as I get to my house and I'll let you know what happens
After doing what you said, it still says "process system isn't responding" I will try a few more times. Also, I'm flashing off nothing. There is no OS, no personal data, just TWRP. Does this have to be flashed on CM12 or something?

No this is lineage os 14.1 it's not mine I just build it because they have stopped doing it officially for this variant of the s3 but there's more to a phone than just the system and you have nothing but a recovery? There's bootloader modem, Efs etc. You wouldn't be able to even flash CM12. in TWRP are you going into advanced wipe or are you just swiping the slider?

What you said makes a lot of sense actually. Im used to just flashing back ups of other roms that I forgot how to flash fresh ones. I'm not used to this haha but I got it now. Stock rom 4.3 has been flashed via odin and the root method is currently on my screen.

If it's an update then dirty flash it if you already had SuperSU installed you will need to reflash the SuperSU zip if you are installing for the first time you just need to install the SuperSU app
