So today I bought a Sony Xperia M5 used but the condition was perfect, there weren't any issues.
And then I go and unlock the bootloader and root the phone with Magisk,no problem there.
But then I notice during the day that yellow stains start showing up at the top corners of the display and there is a red dot and blue lines in the center of the display (pics in attachments).
I also noticed that these yellow stains get much more noticable once the phone gets warm.
I can assure these problems weren't here before because I would notice then immediately.
So is it just a case of a needed screen replacement and I can take it to warranty or I can calibrate the screen somehow?
Mine is just rooted bootloader locked and they just turned up for me over time so I'd say it's the display

Ok, so I didn't know that, that (from my other post) was "Insurance fraud". So I decided to fix the phone myself, Insurance cancelled. Now as you may already know, I stood on my phone. I am guessing that the Digitizer is the touch panel and the screen is a the botton displaying the image.. Once the damage was done, I quickly checked if the phone was alright so I pressed the "Unlock key" and had to swipe the unlock screen to see if the phone was working, so obviously the Digitizer is working as it did change to homescreen when I swiped the screen.
As I panicked I took the battery out, and turning the phone back on hoping it will work, It did not. Some green dots and lines started apearing. Then it stopped displaying, so a black screen after the vibration when I'm turning on the phone.
I also know that the phone is still working because when I plug it into my computer Windows 7 has that little bleep..
The glass screen is not cracked but, when you look at the screen at an angle you see the some scratches (or cracks) underneath on the AMOLED..
Now, my question is, do I need a new AMOLED or a new Digitizer?
thanks for your time!
edit; I've been looking at abit of nexus one Screens/Digitizer's, they seem cheaper, so would they work with a Desire?
A small portion of my screen turned yellow awhile ago for like 2 mins but is now gone, should i be worried about this ? Uppermost center and at first i thought it was just my eyes but i showed a few people and they noticed it too. Its probably the glue right ? Should i be concerned this will get worse ? My screen also has screen rippling on the sides btw

A few moments ago while browsing on my phone the screen flickered multiple times. At first I thought it was normal, because the screen flickers on some JB roms. But then the flicker completely changed the color of my screen. I'd post a picture, but I'm at work with only my phone. The best example I can give is it's as if somebody turned the brightness on a computer monitor to 100% and now the colors are washed. Black is now almost a grey color etc. I thought it was the rom so luckily I had some nandroids, but the discoloration is even worse in TWRP and on boot because of the black background.
My question is, what to do now? The screen is pulsating terribly. I haven't dropped this phone from any significant height either. Does AT&T cover replacements or would I have to go through Samsung? Btw I purchased this new in box off Craigslist, so I'm not sure if that would be a problem getting an AT&T replacement. With tmobile with past phones it didn't matter.
I'd try flashing back to stock through Odin. If that doesn't work its probably a hardware problem and at&t should replace it
Hello!
I've been holding off unlocking my HOX's bootloader since I saw a yellow spot appear in the corner of my screen 3 weeks ago. I would go for a custom rom for better performance and battery life, but I'm afraid the spot will get bigger and I will have to send my phone for a repair.
So here are the questions: Has anybody sent an unlocked phone to service for a screen problem? Have they charged you for the repair? Can the spot actually get bigger?
Just to mention, I'm not willing to send my phone to service as of now, since the spot is quite small and it is the only issue I have had with it in 7 months. On the other hand, two of my friends have sent their HOX's to service and received units having more problems than the original ones
If you are talking about flickering of screen, it doesn't depends from an unloacked phone...
You can change rom as many time as you want
If you must send your phone to repair, you don't have any problem because is a manufacturing defect
No he is talking about the small yellow circles that appear from the poorly cured glue. I have 2of these in both the very bottom left and bottom right of screen.
They sometimes are not visible. Sometimes very visible but they never change in size.
If you can live with them i wouldn't worry about then getting bigger. Its very unlikely to happen.
Unlocking the bootloader should not affect your warranty if you have to send it back as its got nothing to do with software

Yes, it is like a disc of about 1 cm diameter which shows a white image as yellow when the phone heats up; it is almost invisible when it hasn't been used for a while.
Thank you for your advice! I was worried it would take over the whole screen when it showed up, as there was nothing wrong for more than 6 months. I looked it up a bit and it seems there is no way to get rid of it
EDIT: Someone please move this post to troubleshooting, this is between my first posts on this forum, sorry.
Hello,
I have an issue with my T325, I have a white light bleed spot that is visible only on white or light pages between the two slim slots (in the middle of the screen but a bit to left). They are not dead pixels, many cheap phones have such a brighter spot.
I bought the tablet brand new 5 months ago, I have warranty for one and a half more years but it takes half a month or more until they see, repair and return the device if I send it in. (I haven't paid for premium service)
The spot appeared about 3 months ago but I told myself that I will not change my otherwise perfect screen for a brighter 0.3cm white spot even if it's a little annoying sometimes ( I had already exchanged two tablets until I got one without dead pixels or dirt inside the screen). I haven't dropped, pushed the screen on that point or did anything that could have damaged it.
However, at the beginning of this month i wiped my screen with a cloth that had something very hard on it and I didn't see and managed to get a deep 1 cm scratch (I can actually hook my nail in it) exactly in the middle of my screen and I didn't have a screen protector (who needs one on a tablet ? ). I am thinking on convincing somehow the service to change the screen because of the light bleeding. The two issues are unrelated, there is only one scratch on the screen clearly from a swiping motion.
Does anyone have an idea on whether the screen is defective or there is some strain in that point ?
Did anyone have a similar issue and managed to solve it ? Should I try sending it in ?
