What is your next phone? - Honor 7X Questions & Answers

Very frustrated with the all-too-frequent need to go into Android Auto and reset everything just to get mapping to work, and not having the phone dialer integration working, and so on... Not to mention this monitoring program running in the background that nobody seems to know for sure what it is doing, what it is sending and to where it might be sending things....
So, after initially being happy with the phone, it has turned sour, and I'm looking to move to something lese, but not ready to pay a small fortune for it. What are you all considering for your next phone purchase? Probably not Huawei/Honor....

I loved the 6X, but my relationship with the 7X was sour out of the box. Maybe I was being too harsh but it really should have launched with oreo and came with USB type C. Aside from a hardware issue I had with my particular device, all the issues I had with the software have supposedly been fixed with the oreo beta. So I ordered it again and will have to definitely give it another shot because I did like the phone, it's hard to beat especially for $200. I know a lot of others will say the MI A1 is better, but not having a US based service center sucks. And I couldn't wait for Motorola to announce the G6 series. After my tenure with the 7X though, I plan to spend a little more and see what else Honor/Huawei has to offer. As long as they continue to sell the devices in the US on Amazon. With Best Buy dropping Huawei, who knows if they'll continue to make phones for the US market.

The Good..The Bad..The Ugly
Quite The Polarizing Device.. This 7x..
It looks so cool..
It was thought to be the "Next Big Thing" here at XDA.
But.. It never panned out that way.
It's compelled it's owners to throw caution to the wind.. root and brick there devices like there's no tomorrow..
with no clear cut way to recover it.
Quality Control is not the best.. either you get one that works perfectly (yeay! I did) or you get one with dimming
issues.. lagging issues.. touch registration issues.. heat issues etc.
But.. for a Stock device that had none of the issues mentioned, it's without question.. the best $199.00 your cellular
dollar can buy.
That is.. IF YOU DON'T MIND BEING MONITORED BY PARENT COMPANY HUAWEI.. (see pic)
Glad I Don't Bank On My Device.
The International Samsung Galaxy S10 will be my next device April of 2019
Until then my completely stock perfectly working Honor 7x will do just fine.

I'm brand new (just a few days) to the Mate SE. Love the phone... so far (will be checking for monitor app running soon). But would Huawei be that stupid? to be under suspicion by the authorities, and then have a snooping app obviously running and call it 'monitor'?
Possible I guess, but wow, hard to imagine. Was disappointed to read today that BB will no longer be carrying Huawei phones. I'm hoping to get the M5 tablet, maybe Amazon or last resort their usa website.
They sell phones all around the world, they are very popular. Is there ** any ** factual evidence of nefarious behavior?

Returned mine. Imonitor spyware ran continuously.
Also their support app requires access to your contacts and phone.
Don't think so Huawei.

First time experience with honor it's not so good as I'm expected. My next mob will be form one plus... ?

Weighing in with my opinion of this device after almost a month of use...
I absolutely have no problem with it, honestly.
Do I have a bit of a buyer remorse? Somehow, after I bought the phone the note 5 pro was announced, the chipset in it definitely make me jealous. It doesn't help also there is currently some crazy development with the device from the get go.
But honestly, with the horrible availability of xiaomi devices, why should I bother really? The 5 pro probably will never make it to Egypt or an Arab country (I bought the honor from Saudi Arabia), we only have redmi 5 plus and the 64 giga version had a flash sale for an hour and then disappeared without a trace, **** this kind of crap really I'd rather pay a little more and not play any kind of one plus old days crappy games, life is too short.
Back to the honor, I picked it over the redmi 5 plus for 2 reasons other than the availability too, the fact that it's a real metal unibody not half and half and I'd take emui over miui any time of the day (just look at the horrendous bastardization of the recents screen), emui with a theme and a new launcher is almost stock to me, I'm not honestly bothered by anything in the software (I actually like the aggressive battery settings) except for the clear of notifications after unlocking, which is kinda really stupid.
Having project treble almost guaranteed also was a buying reason, it was obvious that honor was committed to bring treble to all their updated devices, I didn't know what is going to happen with xiaomi (back then nobody has seen community treble porting yet), it doesn't help also that the 625 is getting older and older (support wise this means it will get easier to be left in the dust)
I had no issues with the touch, it just seems that Huawei has some kind of different scrolling behavior, the battery has been nice, not legendary, just Nice, the performance has been fantastic so far, honestly I never feel like I'm performing something faster than the device can catch up except in the horrific camera app, which is definitely a software issue that I hope will be fixed in oreo. (That app is a pain to use). Captured photos are nice, a bit on the colder side but manual mode works well for me.
The biggest issue people witness with the phone is the potatoish gpu, I'm not that bothered because the games I have thrown at it worked well (if the slower ones were playable), emulation worked really well especially as I completed prince of persia rival swords completely on the phone, I couldn't ask for more.
If anybody reading this, looking to buy a new phone and has no access to the note 5 pro honestly get the honor 7x, there is currently no better choice I can think of, everybody is praising the Nokia 7 plus as the new budget King and it's almost ****ing 350 euro, I think people's view on what budget means became skewed with how we have 1000 USD phones in the market, 350 USD to 500 USD are NOT budget phones for God sake.
What I would wish for my next phone? Better gpu just for the sake for more future proofing (I plan to stick with a phone for 4 years) and USB C, everything else currently technology wise is not a big deal and nothing in flagships currently is making me jealous, the honor looks fantastically modern (I was a Moto g fanboy but man these leaks of Moto g6 look incredibly ugly with the 18:9 ratio plus a chin, the **** Motorola?). Last thing would be an AMOLED screen, these beautiful true deep blacks must come to budget devices one day.
My 2 cents.

[Q] Happy with your WP7 Device??

hey there, i´m looking for a new smartphone and since i don´t want spend like 450 euro for a phone (that i don´t like for a 100% - i´m very picky....). i tried the galaxy s2 (kinda HATE the big home button, very cheap battery cover) and the sensation (lousy internal memory, very low "loud"speaker, wifi issues, and so on), again unfortunately i´m VERY picky.......
anyway, i stumbled over the win 7 phones which are at a very low price at the moment and the Optimus 7 is the one with the lowest price.
so i´m asking you if this device is good enough to spend some time with until new flagships (new android or maybe the galaxy s2 wp7) come out or does it have BIG known issues???
and could you tell me your results with the camera since i read somewhere that it isn´t THAT good....
thx!
/e: just to put some numbers in
the LG optimus 7 is available for like 160 euro and the next step ahead would be the omnia 7 for 213 euro.
specially when i see THIS video, i´m not too sure anymore, which one to pick
no matter which one u pick u will love wp7 especially with the mango beta out. the Omnia has an AMOLED screen and people swear that it's the **** so if that matters to u than I would go for that otherwise go for the optimus 7
I came from Android to WP7 and love it. If you pick one up now, the specs might not look incredible, but everything just WORKS. I've been running the Mango beta, and I can't go back to NoDo now.
I love my HD7 & WP7. There are some design changes I'd like to see, but nothing deal breaking. What'd I suggest though, is to go to your local retailer & play with it in person & make your own choice/decision. everyone has their own tastes, so it's best to play with one yourself & make up your own mind rather then follow the opinion of others. For me, the biggest thing is that WP7 is very fast & smooth. The integration is also awesome. mango will only make things better. This being said, if you are big into hacking/customizing your device, WP7 is lacking in that area. Especially after Mango because of the INTEROPSERVICES block that has broken almost all homebrew apps (registry editor/etc.)

I would not recommend WP7 alltogether because of limitations it gives.
But if you're into it, and yes WP7 can be very saisfying in many areas,
I can say - having still my LG Optimus 7 - that it's a very very good phone itself.
I would never trust LG but this phone is really robust and well designed and was a complete surprise to me.
It has hardware keys which I find very comfortable, not allowing any accidental press,
back cover is top noch metal and the whole phone looks 100 times better than on any photo, quite classy but not too much. All the hardware keys are great too. The screen is sweet, audio quality very good.
But the Camera:
In daylight it's great. You can make great photos and videos.
The whole problem is in the night & dark... Well the colours are OK but basically in those conditions pics are complete ****. Just blurry and not sharp, as well as videos. TBH not many modern phone cameras work in these conditions anyway.

uhh yea stop spreading FUD naco he's looking for someone to help him purchase a wp7 device not for someone to deter him from purchasing a wp7!
If you're "VERY picky" then I wouldn't buy a Windows 7 phone.
Basically it's a *good* system, but it's clear from the lack of apps and the number of small niggles that it's an OS that is still maturing. I imagine Microsoft see this WP7 the same as the original Xbox; a way to get developers, phone carriers and hardware manufacturers on board, as well as iron out most technical issues, before the real battle; the launch of Windows Phone 8.
If you're the sort of person where just one little thing could ruin your enjoyment of the phone, then I'd probably recommend iOS (where everything pretty much just works as intended).
Oh and to answer your original question, yes I'm happy with my HTC Mozart, though there are a few frustrations with the system, and many apps that I miss.
extremely happy
If you find yourself only using 10-20 apps on other OS, odds are you will be perfectly happy with wp7. I think I have a total of 8 third party apps right now, I just don't need much that isn't already built into wp7.

exactly, and after mango there're gonna be much more built-in apps even if you'd like to use many apps, go right ahead, it won't slow down the OS (unlike android)
I would spend sometime playing with one in the shop and see what you think, I like my Ominia 7

i have a HTC 7 Pro, and a Samsung Omnia 7.
Best Phones i've ever had.
Even Android Phones like Galaxy S (S II wasnt out back then), Nexus etc were simply bad after i used a WinPho7
Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion, and this is mine.
I left android for a huge reason (one of the same reasons why I left winmo as well)
no matter how much a custom rom improved the experience, at little things, both OSes sucked at. I didn't want to buy apple because they are POS when you jailbreak them. That said, windows phone intrigued me after playing with it for a good 10 days. And when I had to go back to android or windows mobile, life was grim. I was bored with the constant rom flashing to get the device to work. even though miui was good for android and dutty was good for windows mobile, the experience overall was mediocre.
I am definitely enjoying windows phone and it gives me so much options
With Mango around the corner I can now recommend WP7 without hesitation as I know things like push notifications will be fixed soon. That's the only thing I don't like about WP7 along with some very poor Xbox Live games.

thats a thing that bothers me, too....i already had a optimus speed for a couple of time and all i did was flashing a new rom again and again....
i already thought of an iphone too but since i already got a contract and have to buy the phone at the normal price, the iphone would be around 580 euro ;(
the perfect device would be a good out-of-the-box phone at a "normal" price where i don´t have to tweak everything myself
but thx for your answers

sounds like wp7 may be just for you, its the best out of the box experience and there's no cluttered UI like ios or tiny (though admittedly clear) screen. wP7 never stops amazing me with all of its functionality.
indeed, it sounds pretty good to me
maybe i should wait till september?? i read somewhere that new phones will be released then and it´s my birthday too

should i buy it ?

considering asus themselves have set an actual release date then we can assume that m is coming. as for recommending the phone? yes absolutely!
its gets good reception, its plenty fast, battery life could be better but let hope m fixes that, asus has been great with updates providing 1 every month if not more, the camera is decent. i mean i could go on but the point has been made, its a great phone and i recommend it to everyone who needs a device and is on a budget. you just cant beat this phone for this price.
You shouln't buy this phone.
Buy mi5 instead
The good:
Price, performance, lightweight ui, bl unlock without losing warranty, superb reception, fast charger, good audio output, dualsim AND microsd slot, kvm windows, wine for android soon to be released, no bugs that i can think of.
The bad: camera quality, power button position (although i never use it), battery life (around 5hrs sot and 48hrs standby when not gaming), missing pocket mode, so the device sometimes wakes up when in pocket, using d2tw, rather small xda community.
If you need a true smartphone, for productivity that can do practically anything, you should get it.
If you're a custom rom freak and you're used to flash and test a new rom every week, this phone is not for you.
This phone it's like: buy, root, set it up, use it.
Oh.. and don't get the 2gb ram version.

Mi5 that is currently going for $440/$515/$587 on Gearbest? Completely different price bracket.
Zenfone 3 is around the corner and u are thinking of buying zenfone 2, i will say no, do not do so
No, the device is too old and does not receive new software quickly. Android N is well underway, but ASUS has still not released Android M. Android N will probably never come to ZenFone 2 is official form, and the unofficial roms may be hampered by bugs due to the (for android) uncommon hardware platform.
This phone is fine if you are not a power user. The camera is fine, all cell phone cameras suck, so if you want better pics buy a Nikon DSLR. Don't listen to the complaints about software updates. Android updates are an issue for all manufacturers, not just Asus. This is why android is so segmented. Asus has confirmed M for this device, but I don't expect N. The people complaining about this are retarded, and can spend $600-800 for a cheap Korean piece of crap then see how long it is supported with updates.
I have a 2gb model, and it is fine. At this point of the year I would wait for the next model, but if you need it now this is a fine phone. Again it is $200, so you get what you pay for.
I recommend a case because the plastic bezel is cheap and scratches easily, again a $200 phone.
If I was going to spend more money I would consider the Huawei Mate 8.

p.s: i am a rom flashing freak but the thing is this is a very important year for me and i can't spend much time on that ...just need it for medium games and social apps only
good choice, this phone is great at this price range, and can handle games rather well(I run psx, psp, nes, snes emulators without issues). as for roms, dev community is quite good and CM13 is pretty stable.

Not bipolar. Complaining about updates is retarded. No manufacturer does a good job of this, except Nexus and maybe you can include Moto. Hard to say that Asus is defrauding the consumer.
You do get what you pay for. Is the case of this phone cheap plastic? Yes. Does the phone have a 1440 screen? No. Etc... Does that mean that this phone is not worth the purchase? No. I am happy with this my purchase, and would consider Asus again. Not an Asus fanboy thou. When I need a new phone I will look at the phone landscape and pic what I think is the best option. The only thing I would not buy is Samsung, because my last phone from them didn't last very long and it was really expensive.
Still.. I haven't found a better phone for the money I've spent for the zf2 (200eur for 4gb/32gb)
I wouldn't recommend you to buy this phone today anymore. The only reason you might want to have this phone is because of the price. But don't expect good support and software. (It's possible that MM will be the last major update this phone is getting.) If you really like flashing ROMs then go for it, if not and you only rely on Asus' official releases then better not. Surely there are better phones now. The Zenfone 2 is already one year old. I don't have time to write my whole opinion here so I will only tell you one thing: think hard about it, do you really want this phone. Are there alternatives that you can compare with. Compare is the keyword because everything is relative. Don't only focus on one phone that you want to buy, try to collect info from other phones. At last it may only depend on how much money you want to spend, this may already be a critical point in your situation. So good luck.

If I comapre it to Sony (owned a lot of them), the updates are quite frequent. Ok we don't have 5.1.1, but 5.0 isn't bad at all. We do get security updates monthly, when z3 does not. Also z3 hasn't got MM yet (costing twice as much).
Coming from the Sony UI, the ZenUI is the first acceptable alternative I got used to. Lightweight, intuitive and responsive. Not the best looking, I agree. This phone has flaws, but SW isn't one of them.
Also we do have a public kernel source, which is very rare for a non qualcomm chipset.
very good saying indeed ....:good:

good phone?

Hello everyone, i recently lost my phone and i have been doing some research into the phone i will be getting next.
I have been conidering this phone because it looks like it will satisfy almost all my needs (would like an amoled display but i can live without it)
So my question to all you nextbit robin users is: is it worth getting, what are your experiences with it, any big downsides?
i have been looking around the internet and some people said it was a bad phone.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Jim

The cloud only works with Nextbit OS.
It goes for $140 bucks. Can't go wrong at that price. Check it out.
I got it at 180€. It is the best phone available at that price in my opinion unless you wish to import a phone from China and deal with all the hassle.
How good is the camera?
Ok so Nextbit was recently bought by razer. my question is, Will the servers still stay up for the 100 gigs of storage? because if not i dont think ill buy it. i know they will no longer have the warrenty as of february but i really hope they will keep the servers up.
Cheers.
Jim
Edit: made saperate thread because maybe more people will notice
One of the Nextbit devs said the 100 gigs of storage servers will stay up for 1 more year (Feb 2018)
I have Robin and I also have a honor 8. I love the look and feel of the Robin and also love the dual front facing speakers. Plus Robin's OS is almost like stock Android except for the launcher which can be easily changed. The deal breaker is no SD card support I really wish they would have added a SD card support to the Robin and it would be an awesome phone. I don't want to store all my stuff in a cloud storage period. So unfortunately I will be keeping the honor 8 which has one the worst OS I've ever used. But if SD card isn't a big deal get the Robin it's a great phone. Also Robin's notification light is on the bottom next to the charge port which is kinda wired in my opinion.
I purchased this phone a few weeks ago, literally a few days before they were purchased by Razer. I was looking for a backup phone to my Nexus 6p and came across a thread where this phone was mentioned. Needless to say I've been actually using this phone more than my Nexus 6p. For $160, you really can't beat it. I don't use the cloud storage feature at all though. Main differences between 6p are: camera (6p is better but this one isn't bad), battery life (worse than 6p) , overall speed and updates. I like the unique look of the phone too.
But this phone is on par, if not better than the Nexus 5x, which I owned for a couple weeks before returning to get the 6p.
It really depends on what your expectations is for the phone. If you're coming from and iPhone, expect to be disappointed. If you're coming from a low budget phone, it will likely make you happy. The phone on its own with stock ROM performs very poorly (in my opinion as I'm a tech enthusiast, love high spec'd out Oneplus phones, so I've been spoiled). However, there is a silver lining. There is great support for custom ROMs and kernels for this phone. If you're willing to put in the time and research and work, it can easily perform on par with a $500+ phone. Just my two cents.
So i got the phone and after a week the top speaker stopped working. it sucks but i sent it back today and will be expecting a replacement soon. i really hope this one works this time.

Thinking of selling..

Hey all,
I bought this phone thinking it was going to be a sea of development given the "gamer" friendly tags that were constantly thrown about, but development is almost literally non-existent and as such, this is really not the device for me. I would almost happily switch back to my OnePlus 3 at this point, just so I could play around with it, try out different ROMs and enjoy the variety you get from a phone with great support. Right now, I am pretty much bored with the phone. And with such a bad camera on such a premium device, I'm actually a bit annoyed at it's price point too..
Now, I've got a few minor scrapes on the edges from a drop here or there, but the hardware is perfectly functioning. What do you think I should put it up for?
(I'm in UK)
Development should take off once Oreo is released due to treble support (check the treble thread for proof of lineage booting)
However ATM with nougat there's nothing. Tbh this A/B partitioning thing is what causes all these development issues it's why I hate it.

The A/B thing doesn't appear to help no.
I'm going to dump this for something older. Maybe sell this for ~£400.
Should give me enough to get a OnePlus 5T or HTC U11 or Xiaomi MI6.

You might not get £400 for it. I paid £400 for a brand new unsealed one a month or so ago so yours being used will knock a bit off.
Saying that if you can I'd sell it now and hold off on OP6 if you can and if you can't afford the OP6 the 5T should drop a bit online that's if you can wait a bit.
If you can't out of all of those id get the 5T (and then flash lineage OS) I don't trust OP software anymore.

Even if I do, it's never as bad as people make out. Like £20 max.
Bought a Mi5 before from a similar company and it was minimal.

I got hit with £90 for importing the essential phone so it can be more than you think.
If you want to sell, I'd recommend CEX they offer a decent price for it.
But the person above is correct, you can easily get them around £350 - £400 brand new or brand new condition.
Otherwise try your luck on gumtree, but be safe out there. I've been burned in the past using them.

Give it a little time till the official android 8.1 update comes out
The main reason to why the community has been dry is because project treble has not yet been officially released and since the 8.1 preview, things are looking good.
Be patient a little and we will see.
I can't give it any more time. I'm literally having more fun right now messing around with my old Xiaomi Mi 5!
New phone on it's way and happy to sell this for £300/£350.

Thats up to you bro. Thats what i would do because you can go back to oneplus anyways. I would wait.
It's a shame as this best phone out, but reading all the issues about hardware fails and bad camera, no wireless charging, no ROMs, etc etc. I'm sticking with my Moto z (and that has similar lack of support!). And believe me I really wanted to ditch and get a Razer, but I just couldn't justify it!
/offtopic tl;dr etc.
??
I was also head over when this phone was announced and released. Am glad I took my time because the lack of development support would have driven me nuts!. Price wise these are definitely falling. There was an offer recently if I remember correctly when mobiles.co were selling the phone on a £30 a month contract with 30gb of data a month! That was cheap but perhaps a reflection of the falling demand and prices.
I just bought a used one! It'll be here probably Wednesday or Thursday.
Think I will be selling mine in a week or so, I can't handle not having even one ROM to play with, can't believe the lack of development I thought this would have had developers all over this to test and enhance this powerful and exciting device. Its a sad day for all razer phone owners. P. S I do respect developers and time and effort they put into creating the roms and mods respect to all
Food for Thought perhaps...
my previous five phones have been Sony I've loved them, my last Sony the xz1 performed abysmally such that I jumped ship for the Razor with its enhanced screen capabilities and superior RAM architecture.
So I just recently purchased the Sony xz2 for my girlfriend which has the 845 processor I believe.
In a nutshell having used the Razor and then playing with this new xz2 I was shocked at how backward that xz2 felt compared to the blistering fast experience that I'm experiencing on our razor.
The xz2 felt sluggish in direct comparison.
Therefore leaving me with a very sweet taste in hanging on to the Razer.
The 835 cpu, 8gb DDR4 RAM with the 120Hz screen.
Honestly no phone out there today reacts and loads quicker then the Razer.
But I hear and do appreciate there are some compromises with the Razer.
But the good far outweigh the bad in my circumstance.

The problem is.... I LOVE the ROM flashing scene. I love tinkering with the OS and getting a feel for different ROMs and their features. Completely baron in here unfortunately and it is for that reason almost entirely that I gave up.
I get bored with phones too quick. Flashing new ROMs always breathes little doses of fresh air back in to them and keeps you interested. Depending on who you are of course.

General Even MKBHD Says He’s Done With the Pixel 6 Pro

I've been a huge fan of the Pixel since the original XL. Dealing with this phone from day one has been a struggle. The voice dictation is terrible. The worst I've ever had on a pixel. Also the phone is my daily driver and sometimes I can't even work with this phone. Really holding out for an update to fix the phone so that I can love it, but I think I'm more patient than most. I feel like replying with a real world experience to every made by Google tweet, but I'm not out to jeopardize their business and I understand new tech takes a little while to achieve its full potential. But there needs to be some heads rolling at Google. There's been issues with every Google Pixel launch and this I think is the worst from my experience. I'm glad some others aren't experiencing what I'm going through. Lucky dogs

I'll say the same thing I said in another thread...
The Pixel 6 is a new platform on new hardware. There are going to be teething issues. Expecting perfection isn't realistic. Google has been using Snapdragon SoC's since the Nexus 4, and this is their first foray using their own hardware. When Apple introduced the A7 in the iPhone 5S, they had the same problem - a lot of stability and feature issues.
Remember that OEMs have to make compromises in order to get everything they want into a reasonable package. Bigger battery means less space for the electronics, and heat becomes a bigger problem. Bigger display and more powerful processor means more battery drain. With handheld devices, weight and size are significant issues as well.
If you want stability, there are other OEMs to choose from that are sticking to established hardware - such as Samsung, using both Qualcomm and their own Exynos systems. The Pixel series has been pretty solid up to this point, so while the 6 and 6 Pro have certainly had a lot of issues, the next generation will be improved, as will the next after that, and so on.
When you buy a Pixel, it's for vanilla Android with the Google experience. Don't expect much more than that.
why do people care what he thinks
i not had that many issues and I am on the December firmware.
battery life is main issue for me but as its a new SOC and needs time to tune it along with new A12 I expected this

man, i really wish my experience was like yours. i bought into Google's P6 hype for sure... i purchased the phone for dual-sim connectivity so i could use one device for my personal and biz numbers. i started with an AT&T version, returned it due to connectivity issues, and purchased an unlocked version that "seemed" to work a little better. however, inconsistent connectivity (no cellular signal, dropped calls, dropped wifi) forced me to put the phone away for now, and switch to a dual-sim S21 Ultra. i'm willing to give Google a chance to address the connectivity issues, but my confidence in their ability to do so is pretty low right now.

Purveyors of disinformation and censorship, at the best.
Really this is Google's doing and not singularly the P6 Pro itself; Android 12 is a huge part of the problem. Android 11 was no gem either.
Following Apple's lead like a lost puppy was one of their biggest mistakes. Google Android degrades their market edge by doing so and ultimately fails their customers.
A large part of Google's problem is that they are also control freaks. They want to push their cloud services at all costs even if it conflicts with the customer's best interests. They learned that from MS.

I don't even know who that is, nor do I really care. However, and this is a big but, if he has a following of thousands of users who buy phones for multiple family members and go on social media platforms then it becomes a problem. Not here because it seems no one is on social media round these parts, but this is the extreme minority. So call it where it belongs, the phone is buggy.. big time. I'm not talking about battery life either, I'm talking about not being able to make a phone call or receive a text. That is major. If I want stability I go with one of the big guns, Apple or Google. Pure iPhone experience and pure Android experience. There is nothing pure about this Pixel 6 series. OEMs compromising and releasing a device that is obviously flawed is not a great model for success. I don't want a Samsung or an iPhone. I want a Pixel. There is absolutely no reason I should put up with a test device when they touted this as the phone of the year. Next generation doesn't interest me right about now. I want a phone with security updates that are current and a device that always can receive a phone call and text. It is not the Pixel 6 no matter how many excuses you can come up with.
If this was a test device at least tell me that. If they are working out problems fitting stuff in then let me know. I easily could have kept my pristine P5 but I was led to believe this was a finished product and, I repeat, the phone of the year. the iPhone killer the every other phone killer. Well the P6 just got killed by their own hands and if you can't admit it then nothing I can say will change your mind.
I got a P6 Pro at launch and I haven't had any major issues or bugs. I'm on Dec update and I think I experienced the network drop thing only twice. I restarted my phone and everything was back to normal.
No other issues though..

My concern is that Google may not find a solution for the P6P reception problems and will have a Nexus 6P issue on its hands. Lawsuits caused many Nexus 6P to be replaced with Pixels so in theory it could happen again but 10 months is a long way from now.
Somebody other has problem with photo quality and strange artifacts? Here look in bright part ....pls dont be a stupid and dont say its becouse saturation or something photo is normal standard photo with no setup right from camera
I'm on Dec build in UK (not sure if that makes a difference but O2 network), I have had small teething issues but nothing like some of the major bugs that have been mentioned. Are we using different variants or something?

He's got 15.2 million subscribers on YouTube. But I agree with you. You would think Google put a little more resources behind it, especially with their big marketing push.
I have a typo and almost every single sentence when doing voice dictation. Maybe I have a stroke happening and my speech is the issue but I'm heavily dependent on it and have been relying on it for years without a problem.
It's just one of the many bugs I'm dealing with, but by no means the end of the world... I ran the A12 betas on my 4XL and it was a rather good experience. Basically all the new features I use specific to the 6pro are broken. I'm hoping that January will be our lucky month
The only issue I have is a bluetooth audio streaming. I need to reconnect it one or two times to make it work.
yeah my second Pixel 6 pro went back to google yesterday, I have had issues with both 6 pro`s I have had, so I`m back to my 9 pro for now. guess wait and see what happens with the S22 ultra or the 10 pro.
