Starts the intent that dialing the code in the dialer does then exits. Just gives an easier way to get to the Menu than dialing the code all the time. Might work with other LG devices too if they use the same intent name...even if different code. I mostly use it to quickly turn off LTE since ATT took the option out.

Thank you! I've been trying to figure out why I lost LTE and somehow I was set to WCDMA only.
Your app fixed me right up!
" unfortunately, service menu has stopped", on Houstonn stock canadian rom 4.1.2, telus, v. 03
Sent from Somewhere using my Puppet Master
My T-mobile Galaxy Note 3 was sent for repair, so I acquire myself a Sprint LG G2 from a friend. The Sprint LG G2 had a clean IMEI and was not rooted when my friend gave it to me. After he gave it to me, I successfully had it rooted and installed TWRP recovery on it, and install the CLoudy G3 rom that was recommended inorder for it to be able to use it on T-MOBILE. At first it didn't work. I kept getting the "no sim card" error and " sim card not compatible" issues. So I tried resetting the phone, and after resetting the Sprint LG G2 I can see it's trying really hard to pick up the T-MOBILE signal, but unfortunately it wouldn't pick up. So in the phone on the dialer I input *#*#4636#*#* then I went to PHONE INFO then I scroll down and selected WCDMA PREFERED. Right after I do that I notice the Sprint LG G2 no longer shows the "no sim card" error or the "sim card not compatible" issue. And I can make/receive calls and text messages. However every 2 hours or so the Sprint LG G2 with the Cloudy G3 rom would kill off the T-Mobile signal and I would have to reset the Sprint LG G2 phone, and have to redo putting in the weird *#*#4636#*#* steps all over again just to make the Sprint LG G2 work for Tmobile. So my question is is there a way to over come this issue of having to restart the phone, then putting this *#*#4636#*#* in the phone dialer, then scrolling down and selecting WCDMA preferred? It's becoming a real annoyance having to redo those steps over and over again every 2-3 hours or so. Be awesome if anyone in here would point me to the right direction on how to overcome this problem. Am I not flashing the correct Cloudy G3 rom for the Sprint LG G2? Am I not flashing the correct radio or Kernel for the Cloudy G3 rom?
I ordered an unlock code from imei-unlocker a couple weeks back and when I got the code, i entered it and it supposedly sim unlocked my ATT G3. I tried to put my t-mobile sim into my device and the phone acted as if it didn't have a sim in it. I factory resetted it and the same thing happens, "No Sim" error. I borrowed my uncle's AT&T sim into the G3 and it still didn't work, I even tried factory resetting it again. I don't have any options to add in unlock codes any more because when I dial the number to get to the screen where I enter the unlock code, every option is greyed out. I don't know what's happening and I was planning on re-selling it but now, I don't even know if the phone will take a SIM anymore. Any idea guys?
Anyone got any ideas =/
I was recently in Korea for work, so I picked up the G4 to bring back to the US. I bought it from SK Telecom, they told me phone should work globally. Now being back in the US, i popped in my Verizon Sim card and no mobile network is available. Phone is reading my sim and has the correct APNs, but still no connection. Does anyone know how to access the service menu to change bands?

I figured, but does anyone know how to access the hidden menu to view all the bands available?
5457#*500#
That should do however I can't access the main hidden menu to disable the throttling.
Thanks for the info 3rd degree.
I tried that on my H815 G4 but it didn't work (invalid code).
I also tried 5457#*815# but that didn't work either.
Unfortunately the 3845#*modelnumber# that always worked previously doesn't now. eg 3845#*815# just gives the invalid code error.
*Edit* the answer is in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/how-to-enter-g4-hidden-menu-t3122373
the code that works for me is 277634#*#

If you call 277634#*# it wil open the menu and Go into Field Test > Modem Settings and will let you change it

For some reason, field test isn't an option on my Tmo variant. Any ideas? (i'm trying to see what LTE bands are enabled)
anyone knows the marshmallow code?
I recently got this phone and things are working fine except I can't add my carriers APN to the phone for mobile data. The only option is greyed out and there is no button to add another. I'm not quite sure what to do.

With your sim in, dial ##3282# then go to apn settings , 3 buttons at the top right, and reset to default. Try a few times in areas with better connection if it doesn't work. It should work the first time though

I've done this but it does not seem to work. I'm using a local carrier from a not very large country so I don't think they have any auto APN settings on their network. When looking it up on their website the only option is to add the APN settings manually which looks to be impossible sadly.

Your only option is to contact Sprint and ask them for a service code. That is the code you need when you click edit on different settings in that menu. Another user had this problem and ended up returning the phone
Same thing for me too. Can anyone please come up with a solution for this. Had the same issue with the leaked firmware too and had to downgrade to Pie to get data back.

I might just end up returning it. I was wondering if root is ever achieved on this phone would there be a way to then freely access the settings?
Bought 5 of these unlocked LG G8 phones for families in Laos and the update basically broke them. Now I can't get help from LG or Sprint. WTF...never again with both of these two companies. What a waste of my time and money, Grrrr.
I have the same problem. Can't edit the APN in Setting to get it to work. But when I go to ##data# and go to APN Setting and try to edit it demands my Service Code which I randomly entered 000000 and it opened for edit !! But most things are un-editable so that did not work for me. I.e I can edit user name, password, authentication, APN NI and PDN Type but I can't edit the APN to change it to my carriers "#777". Any ideas?
P.S. My device is actually sprint locked, but I'm using an unlocking electronic chip to make it work on my carrier
Update
This was brought up on the Sprint forum and a representative states, "We are only responsible for unlocking the device, not getting the APNs to unlock. You can contact the carrier you are trying to activate the device on or contact LG" as shown here. There was another post on the LG forum where an LG representative says to contact Sprint or the other carrier because the problem can only be resolved by the carrier here.
So currently Sprint and LG are passing the blame onto each other. This is sad to hear because this is the only disappointment I have in my purchase so far. Maybe if more of us comment on the issue to both companies we can find out which one is really at fault and get them to issue a fix?
I have the unlocked Sprint variant of this phone on ATT and my APN settings are also locked. My APN settings got messed up after this last update and once during a factory default. I fixed the APN settings for ATT doing the below steps.
Do the ##data# code
Then go to APN
Then on the top right corner of the screen hit the three little dots
Then hit reset to defaults
Next restart the phone
After that mobile data and mms started working. Hope this helps.

Well we already had this but some people don't get auto populated apns
Update..
I tried deleting all APNs from ##DATA# and now the 3G symbol appears briefly for a second and then disapears every couple of minutes.

check the sprint community forum, there is a moderator that can help you get your service code, once you have this, you can make changes to your apn (I don't think you can add a new APN though) The update screwed up this apn badly, sadly lg and sprint are just passing the blame around

I got in contact with him through pm. Sadly he said the method he previously suggested didn't work.

I don't think they would provide service code for locked phones!

The phones are unlocked, even with service code, you can't add a new apn, you can only edit some parts of the existing ones.
So.. is there a chance in the near future or what?!

Not really. But resetting to default should help in most cases
FIX
So I continued searching and there is an adb fix that forces the "Add APN" activity. Enable ADB debugging and then type
Code:
adb shell am start -a android.intent.action.INSERT content://telephony/carriers --ei simId -1
This was discovered by xda member deskjet390 here. I used an app that a member named miji2 on another forum created that does this on device here. I also think I should link the website that I found all this information on as they're the reason for all of this so here.
