I ordered an unlock code from imei-unlocker a couple weeks back and when I got the code, i entered it and it supposedly sim unlocked my ATT G3. I tried to put my t-mobile sim into my device and the phone acted as if it didn't have a sim in it. I factory resetted it and the same thing happens, "No Sim" error. I borrowed my uncle's AT&T sim into the G3 and it still didn't work, I even tried factory resetting it again. I don't have any options to add in unlock codes any more because when I dial the number to get to the screen where I enter the unlock code, every option is greyed out. I don't know what's happening and I was planning on re-selling it but now, I don't even know if the phone will take a SIM anymore. Any idea guys?
Anyone got any ideas =/

Hello, I am new here...
Help!!!,
I've bought a Cingular hw6920 and I would like to use it when I travel, with local SIM cards.
The phone is obviously locked and when I try to use another SIM, it shows the message "Network is locked, please input unlock code".
Since I have a Cingular account, I've asked for the code, but after sending them the IMEI (correct), they have replied that they cannot find it!
Same thing happened when I've tried to get the code through one of the pay services.
Any suggestion? I can't return or exchange the phone since I left it to my brother in Europe.
The phone has never been turned on in the US with a Cingular SIM, could this be the problem?
Thanks
Hi,
I am new to GSM technology moving over from CDMA technology (US Cellular) and have a question about unlocking the phone so you can use it on another network. Once I put in a foreign SIM card and unlock it with the NCK code does the phone stay unlocked or every time you put in a different SIM card you have to reenter the code?
stays unlocked, you just need to do it once.

Unlocking a phone with a code is a permanent change however there are instances where we've seen some models reactivate the lock when someone has changed the software on their phone. Usually this doesn't happen and it is rate that it does but if so, then the same codes can be used to remove the lock again.
The only time the unlock codes won't work on a phone they have in the past is when the IMEI of the phone has been changed. This only happens if a phone is repaired and an engineer changes the IMEI - it won't happen randomly.
Hi Guys long time learcher, first time poster so please be kind if my n00bness starts to shine through.
So recently I brought a Tesco Branded Wildfire S A510e (believe 2012 model) second-hand. As soon as it came I used this site with my Macbook Air and got the phone bootloader unlocked, recovery finally installed and lastly flashed a nice custom rom with a new kernel.
My new network SIM card came through today, i decided to go with giffgaff because like tesco they are actually using the O2 network so I thought the SIM card would be compatible with the handset but alas as soon as I booted into my phone I was greeted with a SIM network unlock PIN prompt.
I done a bit of research and I discovered that my phone is SIM-LOCKED (if thats what S-ON means??) and to get it off I need to buy some kind of XTC Clip but unfortunately am feeling the pinch at the mo so I can't afford to order one. Instead I paid for a network unlock code from mobileunlocked.com (had used them before with a locked blackberry). I sent them my IMEI number, paid and waited for about 10 minutes and my unlock code arrived.
Eagerly I entered the code and it was accepted, the phone then displayed my menu screen etc. But I also noticed that I have no signal on the phone, i tried to scan for the network but I just got a "Error while searching for networks", I thought it might need a reboot so I did.
But when it booted up it asked me for the network unlock code again, I entered it again, it was accepted and the phone then displayed my menu screen but once again no signal, I tried to search for the network and once again same Error while searching message.
I shutdown the phone and manage to borrow my sons Tesco SIM to test, popped it in and turned it on. No code asked for, booted straight into the menu and looked, the phone has signal.
Tried my GiffGaff SIM again and still same problem. If I wait a message does pop up saying "mobile registered on network" but when I try to search for a network carrier a search prompt pops up for about half-a-second but then closes, No network operators are listed.
Has anyone else ever had this kind of problem??
Any feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks for reading.
I don't see where you activated the SIM that you got from GiffGaff. If you didn't, go to their site and click on, "Activate SIM" and follow the prompts.
Hello there,
Exactly the same thing happened to me yesterday also with a Wildfire S, and I found a way around it.
I flashed a stock ROM (Gingerbread, HTC Sense), and entered the unlock code, which actually unlocked the phone (calls and all).
After that I re-flashed the custom ROM I'd used previously and didn't get prompted for a code, the phone is still unlocked.
I have this I317m locked to bell. I am trying to use it on virgin mobile canada. From what I've read, I shouldn't have to unlock it to use it on virgin. Anyway, when I insert my virgin sim card, sometimes it'll say unregistered sim and other times it'll just tell me emergency call only. When I look under status, it knows my phone number and it knows that there is a sim card inserted, but it won't let me connect to anything. It's completely stock and on 4.4.2. It never asks to enter an unlock code when booted up and no combination of any symbols and numbers that I have found on the web results in anything happening through the dialer. I have an unlock code for it and I cannot input it anywhere. I am starting to think that I have a hardware issue of some kind and hope that it can be confirmed with help from you guys. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
So it can pick up virgin under available networks, it just can't register on anything. This time, when I turned it on, it read virgin for a split second on the lock screen then switched to unregistered sim and then to just emergency calls only. It has bars showing up, I just can't connect to anything. strange.
Well, I have it all apart now and figured for the $7.69 it costs for a new sim reader and micro sd reader, I'll give it a shot.I kinda have a feeling that it not the issue though. I'm kinda leaning toward the nand being fried or something like that.
Have you checked that the IMEI was clean?
The imei comes up under about phone and matches the sticker. What else is there to check? It also shows up doing the #*06# trick.
Aha! Checked IMEI. Not clean. Will fix properly now. Thanks.
Which normally means you're in possession of a lost, unpaid or stolen device...
"SIM Suddenly *Perso* Locked?!" <-- (Thread Tittle Typo)
Hello XDA. Mayhaps you can help me solve a problem that came out of literally nowhere.
I'm using an AT&T Galaxy Note II on Metro PCS with Cyanogenmod 13, and I have been using this setup for a few months now with almost no issues. Now don't get me wrong, I've had some hiccups here and there. Random reboots, camera issues, once I even lost ALL of my personal data for seemingly no reason at all.
Right this very moment, however, my phone just randomly rebooted, which I'm used to, but upon unlocking my phone after startup all I get is "Unlock Sim Network Pin" - "Sim Perso Locked Emergency Calls Only"
I have NO idea what is going on or why this happened in the first place. I don't have the slightest clue on how to fix this at this hour other than paying for an unlock code from a third party, but there's no way I'm doing that! Please help.
TL;DR
My phone rebooted and now the SIM is locked for no reason. Pls hlp
How did you sim unlock the phone in order to use Metro PCS? You mean the sim is locked in that the sim card is asking for a pin?

Click to collapse
When I bought the phone off of a friend they asked at&t to unlock it and they obliged.
Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Every time I restart the phone it asks for a pin to unlock SIM.
I'll update with screenshots.
Once the phone is unlocked via code, it should be permanently network unlocked. Do you still have the unlock code?
If the sim is asking for a pin, sounds like a setting in the security may have been changed to prompt for a pin. Did you try entering 1234 or 0000?
Same thing just happened to me, what was your solution? Phone worked fine yesterday, powered down from battery use, when I plugged it back /charged it, it was doing the perso lock thing.
