proof of bootloop - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
My nexus 5x is dead due to the bootloop problem
I sent it for repair but it was refused because it was oxidized
The seller is now claiming a proof or document proving that the phone is affected by a bootloop problem related to a hardware defect
Except that in France, Lg not want to provide me.
An idea ?

MM Causing LG G4 To Die ?

most of us who are using 505 are encounter some kind of bootloop and causing the phone to be dead the only known solution is RMA
Did you experience the same thing? As in series 505 motherboard that got replaced by Series 512 motherboard and software updated to MM?
Wow. It seems like a serious issue. I hope it will be patched soon. I am still on Lollipop though.
Anyway, if it is a widespread issue even after the mobo change, I am guessing G4 has a deep-rooted manufacturing flaw or really incompetent diagnostic (just change mobo to 'resolve' bootloop death).

anyone who send their phone whose has a changed of mobo(Motherboard) has re encounter this issue?
there's a thread in Q&A about this. issues were likely with the earlier version with 505 to 507 or 509. 510 and above doesnt seem to have that issue
I highly doubt all of the hundred thousands phones from 505 to 509 to have this issue. But there is such issue for sure. What is the reason no one knows or at least is not saying.

Nope.
Guys like you are the reason why manufacturers are doing the bootloader locking or using qfuse.
my g4 with sn 505 is known very risky to bootloop , I just do not want my phone to be exposed to bootloop before warranty period end.
I have 506 and I'm in the same boat like you but damaging it on purpose to claim warranty is wrong.
If it happens after warranty time the only thing you could do is ask LG to repair it because it's a known problem.
If it happens to me I will try to fix it myself bybacking the motherboard in the oven (no joke!!!).
It doesn't matter if it works or not LG will be on my list of manufacturers I will never again buy from.
So far on this list is Samsung, Sony, and probably LG.
The bootloop issue is due to hardware, not software. I believe any issues caused by software is not under warranty.
And what would damaging the software help anyway? They will just reflash the correct firmware and done. Maybe they will exchange it, but I highly doubt it.
My g4 came with 2 year warranty and I had it for 6 months, no trouble whatsoever, in fact I love it. If the boot loop issue occurs within the next 18 months then warranty deals with that. If not then I will be upgrading to a newer phone anyway, so really no need to worry it's a win win situation me thinks

LG G4 - H815P - Logo Loop

Hello,
I have just entered this loop. And I have contacted LG but they mentioned that my mobile presents some scratches that voids the warranty. Im almost 99.98% positive that this scratches dont cause the issue.
So I'm looking for an alternative...if there is...
Ive done the factory reset and the issue still persists.
I've let the battery run out 100 and then recharge and redo the factory reset and nothing.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Get in touch with LG again. This makes 0 sense that scratches would be in any way related to the issue caused by the faulty motherboards. I had mine dented and sent for repair to LG and no questions were asked as this is not even related to the problem. If the person on the other side of the line refuses to accept RMA insist on talking to the manager. This is well known issue and LG stated that they will be fixing/replacing faulty motherboards.

Is there a statement about this?
I'm currently based in mexico city and for some reason I have to go through my mobile carrier and the mobile carrier technicians do the 'evaluation'.
Thanks,
Rodrigo

The are couple of articles on the web:
http://www.techradar.com/news/phone...-loop-problem-and-it-s-offering-a-fix-1313769
http://www.androidauthority.com/lg-admits-g4-bootloop-problem-hardware-fault-669603/
It is not as widespread issue like exploding Note 7 but most of the stores and carriers are aware of it and most of them either replacing or sending to LG for repair without many questions.

Bootloop issue

Anyone know about the bootloop issue that affects our phones and lg is offering full refund long as have the receipt. The part that causes the bootloop is not available. Anyone know about this or experience this issue? http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/1...unds-for-some-malfunctioning-nexus-5x-phones/ …
Yes, I got the bootloop last week. Sent my phone in to LG and am awaiting response. Will post back if I receive the email listed in your article.
Side note. I had the exact same issue with my previous LG G4 and was actually successful with getting the device working by 'cooking' the motherboard. Now that definitely voids any warranty and is not foolproof, but if people don't want to lose their device for a payout, it's something they could try. (Again AT THEIR OWN RISK!)

What's the truth about the bootloop issue?

Hi,
Some people said that every Nexus 5X will got a bootloop issue after 1-2 years.
Google said a "very little number of Nexus 5X having this".
Then what?
And other question about bootloop issue, if i can switch to recovery and it says "no command" if Stock or entering TWRP if i have costum, that mean it's not a hardware issue, just need to reinstall the rom?
And also, warranty gone if i unlock the bootloader? Can I relock if i got hardware issue to have again warranty?
I want to buy a 5X, but now i'm afraid about this.
Of course you can relock the bootloader and send it to rma, after having deleted every sign of root to ensure they'll accept your device (factory reset). However, they can't refuse it unless they prove that the defect is caused by your software manumission (as far as EU regulation is concerned, I don't know if other countries has different rules).
I don't know if I'd recommend buying a 5X; it's a Nexus, and it's a great device...until it works. When you have a defective one, you're through. I had to send mine three times to rma; moreover, if they change the main board you'll be unable to unlock bootloader due to their block.
It's because solid connection is disjoin from the mainboard if you reheat with heat its will work for a week
This happen with previous G3 its screen faded and bootloop.
