I just noticed the 5X is back in stock at Amazon. If I go to the Google site, it says "The 5X is back" but I didn't see a place to actually order one on that site. It is NOT listed as one of the available phones on the Project Fi site. There are several reviews online dated sometime in November 2017.
So..... did Google / LG run another batch of 5Xs??

I started this thread in the 6P forum. Figured I'd start one here too.
Let's see how old your 5x really is!
If you boot into fastboot and scroll to barcodes and hit power you will see your build date. I want to see how far apart they were built in comparison to when they were ordered and where were they ordered from.
My 6P was:
Built: 10/19
Ordered: 10/25
Shipped: 10/28
Received and activated 11/3
Ordered from Google Store.
Manufactured in October, received it 2 weeks ago.
On a 5x, this does not work. What barcodes?
I'm still sort of on the fence about the Pixel XL. Right now it's between this phone and the V20. I would really like to see a few in-depth reviews before I pull the trigger on either. Does anyone know about how soon Google sends out the review units to the editors/reviewers?
I would say sometime next week since the Official release date is Oct. 20th

So when do you think they will get it? Or do you think review units have already been sent out?
Went to best buy today and 1of the Google employees had a pixel xl. He had just got it yesterday. He let me hold it and look at it. It was nice I must admit. He said they got them to show customers.
Looks like DXO Mark got theirs

Im pretty sure they will get reviews out around the 17th thats 3 days before orders ship
Review units usually go out well before release so reviews(which normally are embargoed can go up on release day
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA-Developers mobile app
I am sure they already got the phone. Don't you see almost every review says "I have been using this phone for about a couple of weeks " blah blah.
Just got a chance to listen to Monday's This Week In Tech podcast and one of the guys is a reviewer and said they were told they'll get their Pixel review kits on the 18th.
the verge already did yesterday
Hey,
yesterday my Nexus 5X received the monthly security update for November 2016 but I seem to have received a different build than everybody else, being N5D91L (instead of NRD91N). I've got the European 32GB model, carbon, no carrier Branding whatsoever - ordered directly online at the Google Store. Googling "N5D91L" turns up nothing useful except 2-3 results in Chinese that I can't make sense of (one is a News site saying "Google has released N5D91L for the Nexus 5X).
Any ideas? Could that be a rogue build?
Should I flash a factory image?
Nevermind, apparently it's a legit and official build also known as r21.
I received the same update today with N5D91L.
Recieved the same update
hello,
i read at the web that the Nexus 5x will be updated until September 2017.
Is that correct? I have promised a friend that I buy the device from him.
Yesterday Vodafone Germany say me that i can get a new Device.
I don´t know what should i do.

Hello,
The nexus 5x is supported by Google until September 2017 for newer android versions (Which means our device will probably get the next big android release, Android 8.0). Also Google will support nexus 5x with the latest security patches (every month you get one) until September 2018 (which means you will also have one of the most secure android devices until then).
And of course, it's one of the last two Nexus devices ever. With no new Nexus devices on the horizon, development on XDA and elsewhere should continue longer than normal past Google's EOL for the Nexus 5X (and Nexus 6P).
Thanks for your information. I think I will buy it from my friend.

"The handset came pre installed with the latest Android OS"
?
I didn't even check the version those were that I returned Wednesday. My new ones will be here Monday and Wednesday. I'll check them.
So where are the games?
That review consists of five paragraphs, and it claims something without actually showing anything.
That doesn't look credible to me.
Also he played Crash Royale, and he says "gaming heaven"... What??

Well, it's not going to be Oreo. No OEM except Google (through LG and HTC) is shipping phones with Oreo.
But I have 7.1.2 Nougat custom ROM on my Moto XT1225 and I thought the V30 was shipping with 7.1.1? At least some reviews said that.

I was certain it didn't have Oreo, but they state "the lastest". And the latest is Oreo. ?
While I'm sure this phone will be awesome for gaming, this reviewer should've done more of an actual review. They seem to be more of a quickly paid advert, than an actual reviewer.
Mine has 7.1.2, and I don't think it has updated since I got it in October.

Thanks, so it is the "latest" available to consumers from OEMs -- except for Pixel phones.
I don't mind stable Nougat until Oreo gets better. LG V20 shipped with brand new Nougat last year, but users said there were a lot of problems due to the OS.
