I started this thread in the 6P forum. Figured I'd start one here too.
Let's see how old your 5x really is!
If you boot into fastboot and scroll to barcodes and hit power you will see your build date. I want to see how far apart they were built in comparison to when they were ordered and where were they ordered from.
My 6P was:
Built: 10/19
Ordered: 10/25
Shipped: 10/28
Received and activated 11/3
Ordered from Google Store.
Manufactured in October, received it 2 weeks ago.
On a 5x, this does not work. What barcodes?

Is that possible this date!??? I always have seen nexus 7 2013 at late 2013 (2013.10)...
Yeah there was something on here about that. Search around. It was something about twrp not working I think.
Looks like they made a new batch. Or they "fixed" a bunch of returned ones and shiped them as new.
They are probably refurbs at this point. The N7 was formally discontinued last year.
Just as a heads up, a few of us that have bought new devices recently have been running into issues with rooting. Check out this thread for more information:

So what's the actual difference between "out of stock" (which is the store notice for the "golden" version of OP3) and "ships within 5 weeks" (which is the notice for the "dark" version of OP3)? I've been waiting for the golden version for a while, but it seems impossible to order it, whereas the dark version always has the 4-5 weeks waiting time written on the store site.

I have ordered two gold versions in last 2 weeks...both are delivered within 10 days..
They likely have different rules/stock for different continents then.
I ordered mine on September 18, and it said it would be dispatched within 5 weeks. It said "Estimated to be dispatched on October 5th". On that day it was dispatched (Wednesday), and I got 2 days latter, on Friday.

When I ordered mine, on Sept 24, it said 8 days prior to shipping, and that I should have it by Oct 10. It was delivered to my door Sep 30. When I look at the manufactured date on my phone, it was made Sept 24.... They are moving them out as quick as they build them.

How do you check manufactured date please?
It's actually printed on the box, on the sticker with the emei numbers, model number and such on it...
I'm still sort of on the fence about the Pixel XL. Right now it's between this phone and the V20. I would really like to see a few in-depth reviews before I pull the trigger on either. Does anyone know about how soon Google sends out the review units to the editors/reviewers?
I would say sometime next week since the Official release date is Oct. 20th

I doubt they would get it a week before official launch with is the 20th as you said.

So when do you think they will get it? Or do you think review units have already been sent out?
Went to best buy today and 1of the Google employees had a pixel xl. He had just got it yesterday. He let me hold it and look at it. It was nice I must admit. He said they got them to show customers.
Looks like DXO Mark got theirs

Im pretty sure they will get reviews out around the 17th thats 3 days before orders ship
Review units usually go out well before release so reviews(which normally are embargoed can go up on release day

I am sure they already got the phone. Don't you see almost every review says "I have been using this phone for about a couple of weeks " blah blah.
Just got a chance to listen to Monday's This Week In Tech podcast and one of the guys is a reviewer and said they were told they'll get their Pixel review kits on the 18th.
the verge already did yesterday
.. from the order i had placed in the pre christmas sale. talking about a black 128gb pixel. original one was manufactured 31/10 (worst blue shift ever), replacement device: 1/11. one day later. got to be the same with that one.
im writing this since i wanted to know if i can hope to get a newer device (since i experienced less blue shift there) with my order placed in the sale phase on google play store (perhaps thats the concession for getting it cheaper) and with the probably less common 128 version.
anyone out there, who got a late manufactured 128 pixel 2 xl?
I just got mine on December 23.....
My brand new replacement 128gb XL is coming from Google directly, shipped from Illinois, I checked the IMEI number and manufacture date was 11/24. It's arriving tomorrow so I'll know then how it stands.

?
the whole point is, what device u got. not when you got it.
Mine was manufactured on November 10th. My blue shift is quite bad though; does the manufacture date really make any difference? I can definitely live with it so I'm not going to replace it in the future. The build quality and performance are superb though.

I have the first batch device that was manufactured in October around 10 or 15 can't remember
But my device is good yes there is blue shift noticeable but other problems either i can't see them or they aren't there
I love my device

When the release date ?
Only Google knows for sure but it looks like the phone will be announced on the 19th October and released a couple of weeks later (end October).
This is based on leaks so we don't really know.
It supposed to beat iphone 13 series so why so late
That's quite a narrow view.
Google always announce their phones around October time (the Pixel 5 was a day earlier at the end of September). They are sticking to their own schedule which is much better than reacting to the competition.
In short, they aren't late, people are just impatient
Supposedly unveil Oct 19th and pre-orders open. Devices delivered Oct 30. Really hope it is sooner or this is going to be the longest 5.5 weeks ever.

Tell me about it! I have my Pixel 5 for sale on eBay and it will get sold by end of September so maybe have to go a month with an older phone. Trying to find one as my old old old HTC 10 is properly ruined.
Mid October hopefully...
One long month to wait
Really hope that we will have a surprise and it will be unveiled on the 27th Sep.
The new chip is promising
I say this every year but I really think Google's release cycle is odd.
Announced late October likely not in the shops until November, months after the iPhone and flagship droids for the year.

It's been strange and a non effective strategy since the Nexus days!

I think it makes sense. No other big android releases during that time, also, just before holiday season. You know, a lot of people buying phones for people lol. And a few weeks before black Friday (week now), so us fanboys who can't wait go buy ours at full price, then in November drop the price so people holiday shopping have more incentive to buy one.
The pixel 6 page on the Google store says "coming October 19th." Wouldn't it be cool if that meant they will be available on that date? They did that with the 4 if I remember correctly. Not holding my breath, just a little too excited.
