I'm still sort of on the fence about the Pixel XL. Right now it's between this phone and the V20. I would really like to see a few in-depth reviews before I pull the trigger on either. Does anyone know about how soon Google sends out the review units to the editors/reviewers?

Went to best buy today and 1of the Google employees had a pixel xl. He had just got it yesterday. He let me hold it and look at it. It was nice I must admit. He said they got them to show customers.

Just got a chance to listen to Monday's This Week In Tech podcast and one of the guys is a reviewer and said they were told they'll get their Pixel review kits on the 18th.

Has anyone who got the HTC 10 from T-Mobile and signed up for the Ice View case promotion actually had it ship to you yet? Seems like it's been far longer than it should. My status has changed to approve but I still haven't seen it shipped or anything yet....
I have been approved but it is a long process. What they don't tell you is after you are approved you have to wait fourth months to get the case and charger. Seems a little excessive bit hey I will eventually get a new case and charger for free right??

this is messed up, I wonder how they are processing these things, I submitted mine the morning I got my phone (less than an hour after the store opened launch day)
Submitted mine day after phone came out, approved june 6th no more info after that. they really dropped the ball on this one.

May 18 I put in the submission for the case and the rapid charger June 17 I was approved and I received everything June 27 maybe it's by region..Im in Philadelphia

Yeah I lucked out I thought it would take alot longer. Wonder why honestly. No I didn't get an email notification when it shipped after I got the approval email I just waited after and forgot it was coming lol

VR is useless imo tried it on Samsung and it causes the phone to get so hot and there is not enough content to really enjoy it..

I had the same issue with Samsung VR. 75% of the time I went to put my phone in it, it would tell me phone was already too hot and only thing I was doing prior was surfing the web. I hate Samsung, total disappointment.
I've noticed my Pixel doesnt get near as hot at the S7E
I've been playing with the free gear VR I got with my first Note 7 on my wifes Galaxy S6. As long as you put it on DND and kill any background apps it runs pretty well, even on her older galaxy phone. I think it's pretty cool, and I'm super excited to check out the daydream VR.
Still waiting for my free VR code from the pre-order.

Everyone's focused on the OnePlus 5T right now. I'm sure the reviews are coming in the next few days and next week. I know Droid Life promised a review before Thanksgiving.
Maybe they are all waiting for theirs to ship from HK like we are..

Only Google knows for sure but it looks like the phone will be announced on the 19th October and released a couple of weeks later (end October).
This is based on leaks so we don't really know.

Google always announce their phones around October time (the Pixel 5 was a day earlier at the end of September). They are sticking to their own schedule which is much better than reacting to the competition.
In short, they aren't late, people are just impatient

Tell me about it! I have my Pixel 5 for sale on eBay and it will get sold by end of September so maybe have to go a month with an older phone. Trying to find one as my old old old HTC 10 is properly ruined.

I think it makes sense. No other big android releases during that time, also, just before holiday season. You know, a lot of people buying phones for people lol. And a few weeks before black Friday (week now), so us fanboys who can't wait go buy ours at full price, then in November drop the price so people holiday shopping have more incentive to buy one.

This thread is to discuss the process of getting the Bose noise cancelling 700s headphones from the pre-order offer. As far as I am aware, this offer was available in the UK and some of the EU countries, but it may have been available farther afield.
Today at the time of writing is 14 days after I placed the pre-order for my 6P and a standard 6. I entered all my details for both devices through the pixel offer website and am now awaiting confirmation. I'll keep you updated with my progress and am interested to learn yours.

I also sent my application yesterday (pre-ordered on the 19th). So far, I only got the confirmation e-mail saying they received my request.
They're supposed to get in touch within 4 working days to approve it. Let's wait and see!
i filled it out using my US address...let's see if it slips through
My validation was approved immediately in morning after submission. In addition, I sent other proof such as delivery note which came with phone and photo of IMEI on phone box in afternoon.
They replied that my submission was validated in evening agin.
Just doing extra as learnt from last year mess up on Bose promo.

My experience was the same. Confirmation was very fast.
Was also told that I can expect the headphones to arrive within 60 days.
Thanks folks. I've had confirmation for one but not the other. Just for laughs, Google's own pixel offers were put into my Gmail spam. I'm now waiting for a confirmation on the second hand set. We'll see how quickly it comes.

I've now received confirmation for 2/2 devices.
The second confirmation was for the first device claim.
My best advice for anyone waiting for confirmation is to check email spam (particularly for Gmail)
