Both 7x and A1 is good. Both have good Camera and processor... Anyway...
MI A1
=====
1) Superb Portrait Camera with Telephoto Lense
2) Good for Heavy gaming
3) Great development support
4) Better charging time
Honor 7x
========
1) Superb design
2) Superb display. Crisp and sharp
3) 18:9 New look
4) Good for Selfie
5) Good battery life
6) Bug Free OS
7) Smooth UI
Something i want to tell u is 7x charging time. Its not good. I mean its very slow comparing to A1. Took more than 2 and half hour to complete full charge.. Also not a good development support device. But u can get a bugfree OS in 7x. Super smooth and lagfree experience...
Now its upto u.. In my point of view A1 have good Portrait camera output and a better charging time. Also 2x zooming...

Go with the 7X

Go with 7X since the time im using i love it.
A1 upside is only the camera in terms of a little better quality and a few games being optimized for snapdragon devices
Other than that 7X dominates in every other aspect.. even charging speeds are really good, getting 2 hr charge from 10 to 100 is pretty good for me..

Would you recommend buying Mi 5S?

I'm currently using Mi 5S Plus which I like a lot. However, it would be nice to have secondary phone with a smaller footprint and a better rear camera (for stills). Do you guys think it is worth spending $300 on Mi 5S? Is the camera a great improvement over 5S Plus? I find the camera on 5S Plus to be disappointing (other than that, I love this phone).

I guess if you already have a Mi 5s Plus, there's no point in getting this since it's very similar, despite one or 2 things

Why not try this Camera mod?

I'm not 100% satisfied with the camera quality, compared to my old Sony Xperia Z1c. I do hope that this will be a little improved with the next global image release. I tend to get not fully sharp images while making pictures of text, as if in the last moment the camera decides to make them a little soft.

Or you decide to not hold the camera still. It is called camera shake. Try it in full sunlight to force the camera to use a fast shutter speed and then check the sharpness. I bet it is sharp as hell.
My camera makes very good pictures. it is miles ahead of my old Nexus 6p camera.
Trust me, I hold it very still

if xiaomi share the kernel sources of this phone,i recomend you buy this! but no diffrent between mi5s plus and mi5s.both of them has the same hardware.
I was incredibly annoyed with the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that had 20% hit rate and awkward body shape on mi5s which has buttons almost on the back of the phone, and the camera on mi5s plus. Also the lack of Nougat and Google assistant on both.
Now I have zte axon 7.

The fingerprint hit rate was bad on my Note 5 but not 20%. I just learned to place my finger on the same area/angle and my hit rate went up.
However, if it was raining and some moisture was on the sensor, it would not work well again.
I just think fingerprint technology is still ways away. You don't want to have any false positives so they lean on not able to unlock.
Actually there is a clear quality difference between the "traditional" scanner on my Redmi 4 Pro and the ultra sonic one on my Mi 5s. The hit rate on my Redmi 4 is nearly 100% (although I don't use the phone every day and can't exactly give numbers), but it is more reliable then on my 5s. I don't know though if it's easier to fake the finger on the Redmi than on the 5s.

I really like the mi5s, but take into account that mine is rooted, I disabled MIUI (memory) optimization, set most of my frequently used apps to be locked so they load near instantly when multitasking etc.
The camera by the way is absolutely excellent - I'm a hobbyist photographer for many years (using 'traditional' real cameras) and this is the first smartphone I've had that is good enough for me to not take my other 'real' camera with me as the photos from the mi5s are really that good. It has a very good optimization of focus accuracy and speed, a pretty good trade off between denoising and sharpening, the white balance is very accurate and the resulting images are sharp consistently across the image, from center to corners.
I'm currently using the EU ROM (7.3.30) and am very happy with the phone.
But, having flashed the lineageOS14.1 unofficial ROM (from April 2017, I d/l it yesterday), I can say that while the mi5s is very fast and all, it can certainly feel snappier in performance when using a more traditional ROM (I tried both lineageOS 14.1 and resurrection remix, both unofficial).
I am sticking with the MIUI rom because the stock camera app is much more reliable for consistently well balanced (white balance, sharpening, and denoising) images with fast focusing, much more than any 3rd party app I tried (manual camera, open camera, google camera (which is supposedly similar to the app used on the Google Pixel), a better camera...).
Hope this helps.
This is the best phone i have so far next to LG G3
Battery really good and much better compared to snapdragon 625 devices
And performances much better than snapdragon 820
Would recommended!

I've owned this phone for 2 weeks now. I purchased it for £211 so it is very cheap compared to most other flagships on the market. With the price in mind, it's definitely a great bang for your buck phone.
However, be mindful that the camera is bad (good hardware but terrible software) which result in out of focus photos and the fingerprint scanner is fairly slow. I'm sure a few people will chime in to say that the camera is the best they've ever used but you will ready of many, many more instances of people with a negative experience. The front facing camera is absolutely terrible and every single photo I've taken has been out of focus. Before people criticise my photography ability, I am a hobbyist photographer with a 50D and several L series lenses so I know how to take a decent photo.
So anyway, some sacrifices were made given the price tag so if you're ok with those shortcomings then you should definitely buy it.

cant be better at just 10k
Best phone I've ever had, (and I have had a few flagships that left me wondering if they were worth it). And the ratio of price/features-performance is amazing (bought it around February this year).
This phone is awesome !!!!
Its a really awesome phone. With the custom rom this thing is a BEAST nothing can beat this phone.Just an issue of heating but overall this is really awesome. I hit 158k on benchmark
not perfect but you will eventually fall in love with its imperfections too
Lovely phone for its price. Fell on the road while riding on bike once, broke nothing. Just a corner bruise. I'm impressed. Using it without any protector or case cause I like my phone that way.
I am planning to buy a used Z2 Plus. I it is only phone with Snapdragon 820 in my budget. Do you think it is a good idea? After all, it has the best hardware considering the price and good ROMs are also available here. What do you think?

It just sits right there. Not perfect because of back being of gorilla glass too. Phone is a bit fat compared to other metal/plastic body ones and a bit heavier. For the price, its worth every penny.

Perfect phone for one hand use.
Powerful plus 5 inch.. any other brand would have sold it for 50K
Great hardware only needs good softwae optimization
I only hate the camera apartment from that the phone is great.
It's a Beast of a phone overall. I have been using this phone for nearly 5 months now on stock ZUI Unrooted(But I'm planning to flash Custom ROM). I got it for 8.5K under exchange best value for money. Performance is as expected from a Flagship phone. Gaming is Butter smooth but personally for me it's a dream come true. Was using Redmi 2 for past 2 and half years. Gaming Totally sucked in that phone. So from a Snapdragon 410 to Snapdragon 820 is a Huge jump in performance. All I can say is I'm Just Lucky to have bought this phone. BTW other than The heating issue the phone is fantastic. But there is a easy solution to the heating problem, just use the case provided by Lenovo free that's it???
This phone is average in when you use with stock rom but you feel awsome when your mind is techie.
There are draw backs but at the price point, it deserves full 5 star

Honor 6x or 7x

Mi 8 Lite Pros and Cons

Pros
Solid build with glass back and aluminum side frames.
Generally fine display with slightly above average brightness and excellent color reproduction in "Standard mode".
Good all-round camera experience with small inconsistencies.
Great performance with the Snapdragon 660 chipset.
Loud speaker and good audio output quality.
Plenty of features provided by Xiaomi's MIUI software, expect swift updates to the latest version.
Cons
Ergonomics might be an issue for users with small hands.
No 3.5mm jack.
Battery life could be better.
EIS in 4K video isn't good, Auto HDR mode needs improvement, portrait shots are largely inconsistent.
pros :
looks beautiful and feels very good to use and it's well built
i have the black one but i think it looks beautiful too
unlockable bootloader
the speakes are loud and sound good like you mentioned in op
really good specs and performance for it's price
cons :
the bootloader unlock wait time is ridiculous
miui is full of tracking and ads
the stock camera app is trash (i think the hardware is fine but it's just the software and the
image processing is what's holding it back)
notch (it got less annoying with usage)
no headphone jack
Cons
I got a little bit back colors around the bang
My device was bought from china
Pro
Battery is good enough .
Camera is good too
Speaker is loudly
cons:
- XDA Forum dont exist
- MIUI Ads
- not exactly a con, but the headphone jack
- MIUI icons, too square for my taste (thinking to change the launcher, not sure yet)
pro
- battery life
- the camera software is good enough, i love the manual option
- FULL FULL FULL SCREEN, NO BUTTONS
- connectivity
Please add a dedicated forum for MI 8 Lite !
Yeah, please own dedicated forum. Pie is coming!
+1 for own section!

i can not use gccam for now i have to wait for 2 weeks so i can unlocked my bootloader and install gcam
Pros
Screen with little notch for a Xiaomi phone
Good Snapdragon 660
Good frontal camera
Good rear main camera
Very thin
Very elegant
Cons
The battery could be a 4000mAh
People can miss the 3.5mm audio
Lack of Camera2 Api enabled
It's a solid phone. I think that the real thing that is missing is the Camera2 Api because the phone has very capables frontal and hear sensors. With a GCam the results would be the same as big brothers as Mi 8, Poco F1 and Mi Mix 2S/3.
Anyone having trouble enabling camera2 api? My front camera won't work on other apps??/

you need to replace a file for fix front camera:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8-Lite/themes/mod-cam-raw-fix-gcam-t3879623
lack 3.5mm
battery is not good
Got the 6/128 global version about a week ago. I am in the USA and live away from any big city. While signal is not the best (doesn't matter device it is just distance from cell towers) I still get almost a full day of use (5-6 hrs SOT). I upgraded from a redmi note 4x and must say this device is way better even with a smaller battery.
Pros
Build quality
Looks
Screen size
Device size
Ram/storage
Charge speed
Sdcard slot
Cons
Notch
Single speaker on bottom
Bootloader unlock wait period
While some will not like lack of headphone jack I personally have not used wired headphones for 2+ years. My redmi note 4x had a jack and I never used it either. I find the processor and battery size combine to make it through a day on a charge. I am on 4g+ network with no wifi use.
Overall I would recommend this device if you are looking for a decent midrange device. This device will probably have more development support than the SD845 Mi 8 devices because of the price. Yet not as much as the cheaper redmi devices have.
Hello, sorry to ask but this is so important... Will mi 8 lite get android 10 or not?! I thing yes, but I saw few places that it wont get more that 9... So WTF is project terble?! Does any OEM used this feature?? Or it's just a word? With project treble we guessed every phone will receive 4/5 updates.. not just 1!! ? And also.. miui is **** on persian/arabic language and full of bugs.. but beautiful and not bad. So please answer.
Hi, I'm new here. I am probably gonna buy the phone this week. But I have no idea about camera. I most likely will be using a custom rom. My question is can I get gcam fully working? And how is the camera in low light with stock and gcam?
pros:
Very fast, barely any lag on any apps.
MUIU is nice, but I still prefer Apex Launcher over it.
Bootloader unlockable without voiding warranty (although not an easy task).
Outstanding battery life. I am getting 2 days on a single charge.
cons:
no NFC
no RAW mode on camera (very disappointing) #1 reason to unlock
no IR blaster
Very light phone (perhaps not a con, but makes me think the glass is probably thin)
Overall, it is so much nicer than my USC Galaxy S7, which is a complete PoS!

Did you install the gcam without root?? After installing gcam can you use the front camera and make video calls on social media?
Pros:
Great/Big Screen
Good Battery/Charge Speed
Great Performance from SD660 in Menus/Apps/Games
Great Sounds from speaker (not the best but very satisfactory)
The MIUI skin is actually pretty cool, coming from MiA1 ofcourse
Great Camera performance both in light and night
Cons:
Still on 8.1 but update as it seems will come soon
No Camera2Api by default
No Headphone Jack (adapter for headphones included but still)
Microphone feels weaker compared to MiA1, maybe social apps have bad support for it because in camera i think it sounds better
Had the choice between this and MiA2 but trying them in the store, Mi 8 Lite had a bigger battery, bigger and better screen and most importantly sd card support. This was ofcourse my choice but it seemed like a no-brainer although Android One would be great.

Galaxy M30 camera really worst

Hi All,
My feedback about @samsung galaxy M30,
Mobile performance is average, one week used no hanging issue, if I play Pubg mobile get heating issue.
Battery back up nice 30 hrs stand by for my use.
Camera very worst in daytime Image its felt like rear camera shot some 8mp shot , as of now no gcam port for this model. If we try any other model gcam APK mobile will restart every snap click.
So better don't go with this, only name is Samsung, rest all the features are felt two years old options they gave.
Just bought it, didn't think was so bad, in any case, I have 7 days to return. If it sucks I'm out. Hehe

It has good very nice camera, after watching comparisons on YouTube with other phones like a50 i came to know it has little bit over saturation of colours
selfie sucks if want something to last way more spend some more bucks in a70. its has amazing selfie with same s10 effects.

A70 vs Oneplus 6T

I have already been ridiculed for trying to compare the 6T to the a50,but the a70 looks to be a better match up
Thinking of changing my 6T this summer
Perhaps for a OnePlus 7,
Any thoughts on the a70
It will be cheaper but is it too big ?

Reasons to go a70
Better display
6.7 inch screen
Bigger Battery,4500mah with 25 watt quick charge
SD card Support
Always On Display
Triple Camera
Better Cameras 32+8+5
32 mp front camera
Not confirmed but probably newer in screen fingerprint tech
Headphone jack
Improved brightness
Fm radio
Lower SAR values(if it bothers u)
One UI has more features but still close to stock
Against A70
Snapdragon 675
No oxygen OS nearly stock
Frequency of updates
OnePlus community
To sum up,thre are definitely reasons to go with the A70 and I'm seriously considering swapping my 6T for one when it comes out here next week. Im not a gamer at all on Android so do I need the Snapdragon 845,not at all.I could use all the features on the a70 though but may well stay with my 6T regardless.

You make some good points and I agree with you. Regarding gaming I know you said you don't play them on the phone, but you shouldn't worry at all, A70 will play all the latest games no problem if you decide to play something. I tried some games on A50 and it had no problems running any, and A70 has even better specs!

Yes I believe this is true, the 675 is a great chip.I used a device with 660 and there was no problems whatsoever, Processors these days are typically great above the 660,
Still on the fence about the a70 though, have been looking at the reviews, many point out issues with the cameras, front and back
Would need these to be great if I'm gonna swap my 6T which has been performing a lot better with Gcam
After much research and scouring the internet for reviews and insight,
I have decided not to go with the a70,although it is a capable and attractive device with many features, there are some downsides that would be too annoying to live with,
Most notably the in display fingerprint sensor which looks like it's first generation tech
And the camera not quite fullfilling it's potential in terms of megapixel stated and lack of stabilisation,
It would not be worth me giving up my 6T for this device,
I will continue to try and find a decent mid range device with good if not excellent camera and features the a70 have,
It may take another year actually but certainly the mid range section is getting better all the time

You're making the right decision I've had a 6T and A70 and the 6T has a much better camera specially in low light which is the real weak point of the A70. Megapixels are just numbers and doesn't say anything about camera quality. The camera and fingerprint sensor are the two weakest points of this phone. I didn't like the fingerprint reader even in the 6T as I found it annoying but this one is even worse and I rely on face unlock and only use fingerprints for authorization in banking apps etc. However screen is better and battery life is much better.

Hi,
So far, I'd call that a really wise decision.
First, display is of course 6.7 inch... But with a 20:9 ratio, it looks tiny compared to the 6.9" of the mi Mix 3 I had before the A70.
Second, I seem to be allergic to AMOLED/SuperAMOLED technology. Display gets a really blue tint when tilted.
Third : battery life is real not on par with what I would expect from a 4500mAh battery.
Fourth : I am unable to use Super Fast Charging and I never had a device charging that slowly in the past 4 or 5 years...
Good I bought this device from Amazon and so can give it back within 30 days...
It is a disappointment, bercause on paper it had everything I am looking for.
Real life sometimes hits pretty hard
Regards.

Yea,seems to be a bit of a disappointment overall for this phone, glad I didn't go for it,shame because on paper it seems ideal
I'm getting great batterytime on mine.
But camera and fingerprint reader is not where it should be for the pricerange.
For example my Xiaomi MI 9 SE is cheaper and camera is way better, and fingerprint reader is also better, but like most in-screen readers it is still slow. But sure it lacks headphone jack and has shorter runtimes with its 3000mAh battery.
Overall the Mi 9 SE is a better phone for less money.

Hi,
Nice statement, but comparing a A70 and a mi9 SE is kind of pointless.
I don't think you can compare a 5.9" display phone with a 6.7" display phone.
Even if the rest is nearly identical.
Don't get me wrong.
I am a great Xiaomi fan.
If Xiaomi would have released a smartphone ABOVE 6.5" AND with a decent SoC, I would have gone for that immediatly.
But the only "phablet" in the Xiaomi range of products is the mi Max 3 (that I currently have) and that one does have a SD 636 and it has really horrible latency when you touch the display.
Regards.

Hi,
So far, I'd call that a really wise decision.
Regards.

Are you sure you have enabled fast charging in settings? Battery / Settings / Fast Charging With Cable.
Just a thought, mine charges from 10% to 100 % in about an hour and a half.
Do remember that 25w charging is only enabled when the screen is off or the AOD is activated. Whenever the screen is on, even on the lockscreen, it'll be limited to 6w.
